rnzmom says "This is the only planner I will ever use - 6 years running!" about At-A-Glance Quicknotes Self-Management System

I have been using this planner to keep my busy professional and personal life organized for about six years. I always look forward to receiving the next year's planner in November and getting organized for the upcoming year!

Each month is tabbed and starts with a monthly calendar to enter the highlights. There is a large note page opposite the monthly calendar that I find extremely useful for jotting down action items from various appointments and meetings right in my planner.

The weekly pages that follow are divided into 15 minute increments for appointments each day from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. There is a handy notes column at the end of each week.

Other handy features include a single page with calendars for the prior and following year in the front, a two-sided pocket in the back for handouts and meeting agendas, several pages for notes in the back, and a time zone/area code calendar.

The cover is very rugged and survives the year in my bag or briefcase with very little wear. ...
...

BarbaraK2U says "The ultimate planner from the ultimate planner company!" about FranklinCovey Monarch Planner

Having children caused me to lose most of my brain function, especially my memory. I found myself unable to remember appointments, tasks, errands...anything and everything! Once my children started school, it became imperative that I keep better track of PTA meetings, etc., so I resigned myself to the fact that I was going to have to start keeping a datebook/calendar of some sort.

My husband is a long-time user of Franklin Covey planning products, so I bit the bullet and went shopping with him. What I found was a beautiful red leather planner binder in the Monarch size (full page). It had handles for carrying as well as a strap to use on my shoulder. Inside, the binder has two pen/pencil holders (one is on the back cover), a cell phone pocket, an expandable PDA clip, and a large miscellaneous storage pocket. The back cover has slots for credit cards and a place to add a pad of paper (8.5 x 11). Franklin Covey utilizes a 7-ring binder system, and while it's possible to use other...
...

lindseyoconnor says "Calendar created in memory of Flower, matriarch of the Whiskers." about East Coast Meerkat Society Flower Memorial Calendar (Meerkats)

The East Coast Meerkat Society (www.meerkatsrule.org) created a wonderful desk calendar in memory of "Flower", who was the leader of the Whiskers meerkat family on Animal Planet's "Meerkat Manor". The pictures of Flower are lovely and all proceeds go to benefit zoo meerkats. It's a wonderful way to help the kats and to have a memento of the beautiful Flower....

bkovacs says "The Far Side still knows how to get a laugh" about Andrews McMeel Publishing The Far Side One-a-Day Desk Calendar

I have been a fan of Gary Larson's The Far Side since it started in the 1980s. Larson discontinued creating new cartoons many years ago but the old ones are classics and can still bring a chuckle after many viewings. I somehow ended up with a 2007 The Far Side One-a-Day desk calendar, the one where you tear off a new comic panel every day, and it's been on my desk at work this year. I do not know if there will be a 2008 The Far Side One-a-Day desk calendar (I checked the Andrews McMeel Web site and couldn't find it) but would be happy to have one on my desk again next year.

The reasons why I enjoy The Far Side go back to my love of science and nature. The Far Side often focuses on nature and shows animals in strange contexts and doing amusing things. One of Larson's favorite techniques is to show animals acting as humans do, highlighting the absurdity of human actions. Just take a look at the dinosaur panel that I included with this review to see clearly how human activities are put in a...
...
