dmlichnerowicz says "High-quality chocolate from historic Lebanon, Ohio" about Golden Turtle Chocolate Faactory - Lebanon, OH

Having lived in and around Lebanon for almost five years, one of my favorite little haunts is in the historic downtown area: the Golden Turtle Chocolate Factory. About fifty feet from the Golden Lamb, Ohio's oldest continuously functioning inn (dating back to the early 1800's), the Golden Turtle Chocolate Factory is a small shop that sells an enormous variety of high-quality milk, dark, and white chocolates, both in their local store and online.

I have tasted many of the confections they make, and my absolute favorite are the dark chocolate-covered candied orange rinds. They look a little like cat poo, but they taste absolutely amazing! The chocolate is delicious, not at all waxy, and any order you place is neatly packaged up for you in white boxes with their gold logo embosssed on top. Prices are comparable to other chocolate speciality shops I have visited, and it is certainly worth it. The Golden Turtle Chocolate Factory products make beautiful gifts, additions to carry-ins...
...

ApriBambino says "Christmas Tree Shops,'Don't you just love a bargain'? Yes I do !" about Christmas Tree Shops - Several locations throughout the Northeastern U.S., MA

Christmas Tree Shops

Growing up in Massachusetts and spending summers on Cape Cod, I'd visit Christmas Tree Shops on a regular basis, and still do. These shops originated on The Cape with stores in West Yarmouth, Falmouth and Hyannis. Their slogan is "Don't you just love a bargain"? well who doesn't.

Since then, they've branched out considerably and are now in many locations in the Northeast which include the following states: Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York,Ohio,Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Christmas Tree Shops carry a wide variety of goods from housewares and home accents to Gormet foods and tons of holiday decorations for every season. It's a great place to find gifts at very reasonable prices, they also carry plenty of selections of gift wrap, cards, bags, boxes ...everything you could possibly need to wrap up just about anything.

They have a wonderful book selection, many best sellers,...
...

The Premium Outlets in Philadelphia are "ok." I find that it is much like all of the other Premium Outlet brand shopping centers. They all seem to have the same exact stores. However, when I am looking for bargains, it is one of the shopping malls I would consider. Although it is often hit or miss when I shop there, you can bet that when it is "hit" I can find tons of bargains on all different types of things. My favorite times to shop there are for the holidays. With the economy these days, you can never save enough money. I enjoy the giving aspect of the holidays and I also love to shop so even if it's a miss when I go, I still enjoy myself. The stores offer a variety of just about anything you can think of. Everything is at a cheaper price than in the regular store, sometimes it's not much but other times you find great values. It's definitely worth a look before you try to buy an item at full price in a regular shopping mall.
...

Yankee Candle Village Flagship Store - South Deerfield, MA

If you're a Yankee Candle fan then you won't want to miss paying a visit to their Flagship store in South Deerfield, MA. It really is "the worlds largest candle store" with an amazing and abundant array of candles and gifts to suit every taste. Some of the most delicious scents can be found here, from the traditional like crisp apples and warm cinnamon to the new holiday scent of NORTH POLE which is a yummy sweet blend of icy cool mint and sugary rich vanilla cream that's so inviting you just want to keep smelling it. I got mine in the mail the other day and it is really good.

Aside from the obvious awesome candle collection theYankee Candle Village Flagship Store has so much more to offer. You can visit the Bavarian Village, a Christmas fantasy that will delight young and not so young alike. Visit Black Forest and you will literally get snowed on, it snows every day in the Yankee Candle Black Forest except you don't...
...

There are color coated dots on price tags throught out the store that are supposed to represent a discount. I asked an associate to be shure that an item was on sale.when she rang it up guess what, it rang up full price. I asked again about it and she stated that the discount was just on items that were out of season! Ok so why didnt she tell me that befor, and why is there a discount sticker on the item? It is a baite and switch tactik, most people dont pay attion to what an item rings up! This infuriates me, I contaced the corptrate office and no one will take my complaint or return my email/ phone calls. They dont care about their coustomers and the employes that work there are just as bad they dont want to help you they are just there to draw a paycheck! If you shop at this store pleas check your recipt and make sure that they are not charging you for an item you thought was on sale!!! Im not the only person this has happend to in my family....

After shopping around for a bedroom set and new t.v. I was happy to see an ad from AAron's Rent to Own promoting a special that included a beautiful 8 piece bedroom set that came with a flat screen tv. They also had the best prices of any other rent to own stores. After going into the store and paying my first month up front, I was told that my items would be delivered in two days. I was also told to come in the next day to sign all of the necessary paperwork. I showed up the next day and the store manager told me that my paper work wasn't ready and that my furniture was no longer in stock. I was told that they would call me to let me know whether or not it comes in on the next days shipment. Needless to say there was no call, I had to call them numerous times before finally getiing an answer...that no my item was still not in stock. After calling again the following day, I was told this time that I was guaranteed to have my items delivered on the following Monday. My husband stayed home...
...

Rices is a very fun place to walk around and spend your morning shopping. Almost all designer knock off purses are $15 and knock off sunglass $5. Unfortunately my rip off coach glass broke after wearing them just onces. SO you do get what you pay for. They have an assortment of others things from arts and crafts to plants, to books and random booths with food and clothing. North face jackets that were orrignally 159 dollars were being sold for 50. Cashmeir scarves for $5.00. I unfortunately did get scammed into buying a hair straighter that was said to cost over three hundred dollars when really i paid the man fifty five and came to find out that it was only worth thirty. So you have to be very careful. The place is fun though and you can get some cheap tiffanys for about eight dollars at all the jewlry venders and pandora if thats what you are into. They look like the real thing so it is fun, but im sure they tarnish or break so be careful!
...

I have been shopping at our local Goodwill Industries for many years, even before the "Green" movement. I'm a firm believer in trying to buy what already exists on our planet, which saves resources and money.

I bought 3 great pairs of jeans there last weekend ~ a pair of Levi's 900, a pair of Levi's 550 and a brand called Rocky Mountain. The Levi's are so well made and sturdy anyway, and these 2 pair hardly looked worn. The Rocky Mountain's looked like they had never been worn. I got all three pair for a total of $9.70, since it was 1/2 off all jeans on Sunday.

They have large, clean dressing rooms and their restroom was very clean also. I stayed for a couple of hours and looked at everything they had, some used, some barely used items, housewares, linens, all sizes of clothes for any family and I was very impressed. They just opened this particular store right up from our house in the last few months.

Labor Day weekend I went camping in the mountains of NC and stayed at Briar Bottom Group Campground. One of the local attractions and a favorite for my friends was The Historic Orchard at Altapass in Little Switzerland, NC. My friends were raving about the homemade fudge, ice-cream and anything and everything apple so it didn't seem like much of a thrill to me until I saw it. The orchard is nestled in the mountains and there was beauty to behold in every direction.

I thought it would be an orchard where you picked bushels of apples and a store where everything was made with apples. But it was more than that! The store was a nice quaint country-like store. There was clothing, books, candles, figurines, toys, etc. At the far end of the store was a stage. That Saturday we got to see some cloggers dancing to live bluegrass music.

I usually enjoy stopping in a Spencers store while at the local mall or where ever I see one taht I am shopping. I did not realize that in order to return an item for "whatever" reason IF you pay in "CASH" you will NOT get cash back but a "gift card" in the amount that you paid. This is riduculous to me since I feel that I work hard at my job and should be able to spend MY money any way that I want and if I choose to return an item (with receipt) and I paid cash i EXPECT cash back NOT a silly gift card. I am appaled that this is a so-called "requirement" if I chose to spend MY money there I will more than likely be back and shouldnt have to be "forced" into taking a gift card for a refund. This is a HUGE inconvenience for many people since if you wanted an exchange for what you bought or something else that is what you would ask for NOT a gift card to come back later.
...

In the past months the inventory at my local Wal Mart Supercenter has begun to suck big time. They are taking out the Good things that I buy and replacing it with what they Want me to buy and I am having no part of it. It is rather sad that Wal Mart does'nt want my business anymore considering we spent a good $150.00 a week there if not more. But that is fine, I am sure the regular grocery store around the corner would love to have my business. And they sack and carry it out to my truck for me. I want my clothes, food, and household items back. Do you hear me Wal Mart? They should have opinion cards so the consumer could speak out. But they probably don't want to hear what I have to say. I have grown to dislike Wal Mart very much. And Lowe's too. They are owned by them somehow. I am now wondering if Best Buy is connected to Wal Mart also. Such a sad thing this has become. No more decent shopping .
...

The Christmas Tree Shops have alwasy been a favorite of mine, and more fun even to check the ones in other locations than at home, bec there are always different bargains to be had. I like rummaging through items to find just the right thing for me, and getting favorites in food, teas, decorations, etc for such a reasonable price.

I have to say though that more recent changes to the store, where as there is a "regular" pharmacy section is very diappointing. I can shop like this at a pharmacy near-by and the bargains in this new department arte not any better than other stores. I always expected adn got more than that at Christmas Tree Stores. I would love to see the stores go back to the original plan. If I want a run of the mill place I can hit K-Mart thank you!
...

Several bad experinces with different NTB locations.

I bought tires from one which went bald after 30,000 miles instead of the advertised 60,000. Called them - was told come in, we'll issue a partial credit; and yes, we'll price match a competitor. Came in - credit offered was $10 on a set of 4 tires (which cost over $400), and the price match is not really a price match, but more of a token discount. No, I can't have both. And no, the person you spoke to on the phone is not available.

At another time, brought my Jaguar in to an NTB to have them check out why it was vibrating. Guy told me I needed rear hubs and bearings. Even put the car on the lift and showed me that he could move the wheel up and down by hand - said this looseness means I need hubs and bearings. His "bearing guy" (only one!) wasn't in, so he couldn't even give me a quote. Called the shop that does most of my auto service. They laughed at me, and even checked with Jaguar dealer. Turns out the wheel...
...

While we were in there, my husband told me that everyone (even on big bases) showers in reclaimed river water from the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. Nasty. While I was looking at some shower gel, I heard my husband ask the sales associate about which would be the best shampoo if you bathed in river water. I started laughing and rushed over there and said maybe he should explain that. I also added quickly that we bathe in city water and we have a regular toilet, not an outhouse. So he explained.

About 15 minutes later while we were browsing in another section, the sales associate came up to us with 2 small bags filled with things to give to the soldiers! They had a lot...
...

pitcherday says "Ames Walmart wouldn't cash a US Treasury check as they advertise" about Walmart - Ames, IA

I had a government check (not tax refund) for around $110. It was drawn on the US Treasury. I went to Wal-Mart to cash it, as they advertise cashing treasury checks for $3. We waited in line, and even though my husband had TWO forms of government-issued photo ID's and the address on the check matched his license, Wal-Mart refused to cash it! They told me I could call their verification service with the error code and ask them why it couldn't be cashed. It was an 800 number but they didn't let me use their phone and the pay phone was out of service. I had to use my pay by the minute cell phone. I called the service and read the routing numbers and account numbers and my husband's license number about 3-4 times. I had to keep spelling our name, I was put on hold numerous times. Then they gave us some vague answer about their records not matching our license information. I asked if we could use his social security number instead of license to verify. They said no, you need a photo ID. I explained...
...

Dee101g says "Great customer service" about Advanced Auto Parts - Arvada, CO

I stopped at this Advanced Auto Parts store because it was enroute to another destination and my tail light went out (heard that fast-blinking when using the turn signal ... you know the one). I've been to several auto parts chain stores before, but not one under this moniker.

A sales rep in the store helped look up the correct bulb, and then installed it (an the other side ... always replace both if one burns out) for me at no charge.

In a previous experience at another chain's store, I had to exchange bulbs 3 times that someone had "looked up" for me.

Today, this store earned my repeat business....

If you like the loose leaf teas, Coastal Serenity is the place to find them in Ocean Shores. You can sample them also. They also have tea accessories.

I was looking for Essential Oils which they also have, a pretty good variety too! Then I happened to see the cutest thing! It was a cupcake for the bath! They looked real enough to eat! They are actually bath fizzes, the bottom of the cupcake fizzes into the bath, and the top is soap.

This is the cutest little shop, don't pass it up when you visit Ocean Shores.
...
