We have gone to the Bass Pro Shops here in Orlando many times this summer...and year round also. This summer they had a great many munber of family activities, including making smores which we love. They had many kids crafts each week and different family classes avaiable. We enjoyed these so much as a family that we kept coming back for more. My little guy can also entertain himself at the fish tank everytime we are in the store, so that is always a plus. It is really more than just a store, but some family entertainment each time we go. Plus it is a great store for my oldest boy(my husband)!! Of course he always volunteers to go or to take the boys there with him. Whatever works toget a few minutes of peace and quiet in the house. It is a great store and a must go to if you are in the area. Make sure you check out any activities they have for kids and families also it is well worth the time. My kids had a blast and we cant wait for some more fun times.

Terrible store to do business with. Never has the items in stock that they advertise. Won't give you a raincheck ( which is illegal unless the ad clearly states no rainchecks) won't substitute an item of equal price. Because I had signed up for their e-mails so I could get discount coupons so I could go in and save a little more. They also had a contest where you pick before the playoffs began who you thought was going to win the NBA finals. Of course I picked the right team (LA) I got an e-mail saying I won a hat and power bar and would be able to pcik up at the store. Then they sent out an e-mail saying it was a mistake. But they did offer $5 off a $25 purchase.Now I believe it was a ploy. I realize they have lousy customer service, they don't keep their word. Avoid Big 5. I wrote Big 5 about this and have never recieved a response. Great customer service...NOT

I like the Super Walmart. Definitely go with a list. And shop the pet food isle first (It is away from the groceries - near the pharmacy.) Then I usually go to the garden section if I need anything, then housewares, turn right at Electronics, I might then shop if I need clothing, then over to Dairy,(milk is all the way in the back) and then frozen foods, pop chips and canned goods, then fruits and vegetables. This is why one needs a list!!

Always bring my coupons and they will take internet coupons. Just be careful to read all the fine print before bringing them. They read them very carefully nowadays. Everyone is pretty friendly and I tend to go shopping with just myself and on a mission.

The store is nice and clean. Items are usually easily to find. I do not like their pharmacy. They do have drive up, but not very prompt and one day a most common antibiotic was out of stock and their was no apology, just "You'll have to pick that up tomorrow." After I had waited and come back after...

Walmart replaced their first Ripley Walmart with a much larger Super Walmart. The store is clean, new, and large, but it is in a more out of the way location.

Walmart is often the best place, and sometimes only, in the county to purchase a wide variety of items. If you need something and don't want to drive an extra 20-30 miles, Walmart is often the only choice.

We often purchase household items such as linens, cosmetics,house fix-it supplies, paint, or kitchen items here. We also buy the occasional clothing or sporting goods items. Kids toys and electronics are usually well priced.

I like the variety, freshness, quality, and value of many grocery items. I especially like the freshness and variety of meat, poultry, and produce.

The store is generally clean, and staff is usually helpful and friendly. Beyond location, the biggest draw-back of the Ripley Walmart is poor staffing. Very often there are just a couple "live" cashiers at the regular registers. I guess...

When it comes to firearms, Dunham's is just... OK. They can have some good deals, but do not dicker like the gunstores do.

Ammunition, on the other hand, is outrageous. It is at least 1.5x, and usually 2x, more expensive than the most expensive gunstore.

Finding an associate to help me is usually a challenge. When I go in, I will wander around looking at things for half an hour waiting to be noticed. (This, incidentally, is how I got to comparing prices and such).

After 15 minutes to half an hour, someone finally notices that maybe I need help. By this time I've given up and decided to go someplace else. However, once that associate recognizes that I need help, he or she usually hovers until I am gone. (I am not a bad looking fella; I've never been mistaken for a thief, so I do not know what this may be.)

Additionally, over half the time when I call to find out if they carry something, I get hooked into a modem or fax or something. Very irritating.

I cannot rate this......

South Side Cyclery is probably the oldest bike shop in St. Louis, started about 1933. They expanded & moved, and expanded again & moved again. In fact, they now have two locations. One at 6925 Gravois and another at 9985 Lin Ferry in South St. Louis County. The Lin Ferry location is the only location to still carry Schwinn bicycles. And they don't stock very many. (Two on the showroom floor at last visit.)

I believe their #1 seller to be Trek bikes. And they are HIGH PRICED. Other brands include GT, Giant, Lightspeed and Haro.

What gets under my skin is the attitude found here. It's like they're saying, "We're St. Louis' Number One Bike Store...always have been, always will be." In other words...stuck up. The sales help I got when looking for a quality bike wasn't as knowledgeable or forthcoming as expected. In contrast, Ed at Big Shark (see separate review) gladly pointed out the differences between bikes. Not necessarily 'better' but different; depending...

Although many in St. Louis and Kansas City, MO. would like to disagree...they can't. It's a proven fact that Bass Pro Shops in Springfield, MO. is Missouri's #1 tourist attraction. The phenomenon started years ago, when John L. Morris asked his father if he could set up an eight-foot display in his liquor store. Since then, the commitment has stayed the same; to sell quality fishing, camping and hunting equipment at a fair price.

So you don't fish, hunt or go camping? Think you'll be bored? Think again. My "EX" wife thought the same way. I COULDN'T DRAG HER OUT OF THE STORE! We were there for hours. She found women's clothes, kid's clothes, shoes, etc. She and my son thought the wildlife exhibits were great. "We're going camping next year." she said, half stating, half asking or pleading. I remember at least one restaurant (full service) and a McDonald's inside.

Across the street is "MY STORE", the Bass Pro Shops Catalog Outlet Center. It's a bargain hunters...

This is my number one go to store! Everything I need to catch bass or anything I feel like fishing for. They always have the newest stuff and even the old goodies. They always have sales and take most of there products 50% or more off all the time! the shipping is fast and customer service is awesome!...

I have been to several of the smaller stores that Bass Pro have been building. Their locations are usually in highly popular metro areas - Nashville, Columbia, MO, Kansas City, etc. I must say that you have been to one of these and not the world headquarters store, you are missing out. If you are a big outdoor enthusiast, you must visit at least once in your lifetime because of the grandness of it. If you're not an outdoor enthusiast, you will still enjoy coming, but probably won't appreciate it as much. Definately recommend the clearance outlet next door!...

This store not only makes shopping fun, it's an adventure! You can find anything from camping to kyaking here. They have plenty of sales associates to assist you with your questions. They also have plenty of checkouts available and make that experience pleasant. When you visit one of their stores, make sure to try the restaurant and visit the aquarium. You will be able to spend a few hours very easily at one of their stores. The fishing department is where you'll find me!...

If you have never been to the Grandaddy of Outdoor Worlds, you are missing out. We are avid hunters, fishers, hiking, camping, and anything else you can do outdoors. I was always annoyed when my husband wanted to go to Bass Pro because I wanted to go somewhere that I could shop. When I finally decided to go with him, for more than a quick run in, we were there forever. Not only do they have everything for the outdoor life they have a huge selection of mens, womens, and childrens clothing not to mention some pretty cool toys. The prices are very resonible and expectially with the clearance store next door....

This place is great because they offer great prices and excellent service. I have 3 teens boys who play sports and this is a one stop shop for all their equipment. I can always find a lower price here than at the national chain stores. Their sales people are also very friendly and helpful. I can always ask for advice and feel like they are not just trying to make a sale, but are genuinely trying to help. This store is wonderful! ...

They have the best customer service and they don't push for you to buy the most expensive item, which is great when you have 5 boys all playing sports. We special ordered an item that was never delivered and they fixed the problem quickly, offering a more expensive item at the lower cost. We would never go to another sports supply store as long as Best Sports is open!

Equipment carried includes baseball gear, hockey gear, basketball gear, footwear, fishing and hunting equipment, kayaks and canoes and related equipment, running clothes, camping gear, winter outdoor clothing, hiking gear and backpacks, and more. Also car racks.

Many of the employees have been around for several years or more, and have been using the stuff that they sell. They tell you the pluses and the minuses, based not on price or commission structure but on your need. Some of them are skilled at repairing the sort of gear or equipment the store sells, and the store supports this rather than fostering a throw-away approach to the products they sell.

I bought these Redfeather Snowpaw Children's snowshoes for my granddaughter. They are easy for her to put on and easy for her to walk in. She's an outdoor girl and I was looking for something fun for her to do outdoors in the winter. With these snowshoes we found the perfect thing. She's getting exercise without even knowing it - she just thinks she's walking on snow....

I bought this Freeplay Indigo Lantern from REI because we do a lot of ice fishing in the winter and our ice shack doesn't have electricity (because it's out on the ice, ha, ha!) This lantern gives off plenty of light for us to sit in the shack and visit while we are waiting for the fish to bait. The rechargable feature is great, but even more great is the option to "crank" on the lantern to provide additional power when the batteries have reached their maximum use. This would be a great lantern for camping also - when you climb in your tent at night it would be perfect for getting ready for bed and very handy if you needed a light during the night. ...

Good place to get fishing equipment and accessories. You will be able to go out and catch fish like this one I have on the photo. It is a red fish 36 inches long and weights about 15 pounds. There is great surf fishing on the coast of texas. And if you go to a Acadamy store in your area you will be able to pick up all the equipment you will need for both camping on the beach for a few weeks and fishing. They also have a hugh selection of hunting equipment. All the latest equipment on the market....

If you live in or around Aberdeen, Maryland you are very lucky. The sporting goods section located inside the Aberdeen Proving Ground Post Exchange has all that is needed for the sports enthusiast. They have a wide selection of fishing, golfing and camping equipment.

Not just tools and washers! Sears has a selection of very good quality home exercise equipment as well. I recently decided to add a treadmill to my home fitness equipment, and decided to look at Sears due to a sale that offered competitive pricing and special financing was advertised. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the brands they carried. There were several models of each brand to choose from, and questions about the attributes of each could be answered either online in the store on your own or with the friendly help of the employees. Employees appear to be knowledgable about the limited selection of items in our local small store or are willing to help find answers.

Ultimately I purchased a ProForm XP 580 Crosstrainer and have been very happy with it's performance. It has a comfortable belt size, good shock absorption, is easy to use, and is not overly loud. My only complaint is that the self-contained fan to cool you during your workout is angle too high...
