This store just does not preach great customer service and knowledgeable employees. They consistently deliver it. You do not need a 'hunting license' to find someone to help you as their is almost always someone nearby. They have many of the products that their competitors no longer carry along with everyday completive pricing. When an employee makes a commitment to a customer, more often than not they keep it. While they may not offer the lowest price in the area on a product, when you consider the customer service they provide they are probably the best overall, cost effective and value priced store in the area. They treat consumers and contractors with equal respect. It is a store you can spend most of the the day browsing around to see what is interesting or go in and quickly find an item and get out fast with just what you want. I have never had to wait over 5 minutes to check out. If they do not carry a product they will proactively offer to order it for you. When lines start forming,...

I was a weird kid. I always loved going to the hardware store with my dad. On weekends, when he'd go to buy lumber, check out tools, order paint - whatever it was we needed for the Victorian brownstone my dad was always working on (and losing the battle with!) - I was always more than happy to tag along to the hardware store. I've never been terribly handy, but I love a good hardware store.

Sadly, the days of the neighborhood hardware store are all but gone. With superstores such as Home Depot and Lowe's popping up at every suburban outpoast, the corner hardware store owner is finding it more and more difficult to stay afloat. I don't hate Home Depot, but I do support small business. I think small business is a key component in any community. There are two things that turn a geographic area into an actual neighborhood: the people who live there and the local resources made available to them. If you get rid of one, the other finds it impossible to maintain the status quo, and the neighborhood...

Most people go to the hardware store for hardware stuff, but me, I found the gold mine of a herb selection at Northside True Value Hardware here in Appleton. I didn't know that there were so many types of herbs I didn't even know about. They have Sage in lemon, lime, spicy, orange, mint and regular for example. Did you know there were many types of cat grasses too? Italian and regular Basil, Three different types of Oregano Oh yeah! I buy all of my herbs here because of the selection, they are so healthy, and grow like a dream. If I know people are looking for herbs and can't find them, I always send them to Northside True Value Hardware because they will for sure find it there. Their herbs are a tad higher in price compared to other green houses, but trust me you will be so pleased.

Great selection, friendly service and so tasty in our cooking!
