I had a bad experience recently in that the cashier didn't CLEARLY convey a "savings option" that was available to me.

At the register while ringing up my purchase, she mentioned that if I used my Sears credit card (vs cash) that I could realize an instant $15.00 savings (on top of another 6% savings). Hey, I jumped at that!

But a few days later while I was looking at my receipt, I notice that THAT $15.00 SAVINGS was ONLY good for shopping that SAME day (on another purchase) at sears ... so I missed out completely!

So I felt DECEIVED.

This store seems to be be hit or miss. Since this is my closes store i do visit it alot. Sometimes the sells people are helpfully and then other times they seem angry with me for asking where something was. Another time an associate told me that i may want to go down the road to Target instead to locate a product. But that happens every now and then i guess. Thank god for the always friendly cashiers though, once one actually left her register to help me find something in the mens department. After asking me if i was able to find everything ok and me saying no. She took the extra time to help me go back and look again and locate the item....

My experience with Sears has lasted 25 yrs.,but I'm afraid it has ended. My most recent purchase of a moderately high end washing machine has been a nightmare. I needed to get service on a fairly new washer, waited 3 wks. before someone could look at it then parts that it needed were backorderd 2 wks., service came to install and wrong parts were ordered. Now new parts have been ordered and they now are on back order 3 wks. I don't know about you but with a large family and usually doing laundry every other day, not having a local laundrymat it has been horrible. The worst part has been dealing with the Home Service Center. When you call them they aren't even in this country, don't really have sympathy for your problem or know how to fix it without the textbook guideline,did you ever hear of "Overnight Delivery"? I requested it , thinking after making a customer wait 8 wks. to get a washer fixed they would do this. No way! I went to the store I purchased it from and got fed a line......

I had relocated to Pinellas Park from south Florida but still owned my home there. The lawnboy called to say the riding mower wasn't working so from his description I knew it was a belt of some kind.

Without the model number, but knowing the make, HP and cutting width, 2 men in the garden department went right to work. There was none of the condescending attitudes toward women I have suffered from other stores, or "poor old lady" snickers. These men were genuinely helpful, kind, understanding and best of all got me exactly what I needed. I was most surprised because the Sears in my hometown usually has to special order stuff for me as their stock is lacking. Glad to be in my new hometown, with friends I can count on at Sears

I WENT TO THE SEARS AT COLUMBIANA CENTER IN COLUMBIA SC AND I WANTED TO SAY THAT I WAS VERY UPSET WITH MY SURROUNDINGS. I WENT FOR THE LL COOL J LINE AND I WAS TOLD THAT THEY DIDNT CARRY IT. WHEN I ASK THEM WHY WAS IT BEEN ADVERTISED ON THE INTERNET AT SEARS.COM AND ON THE TV THAT IT WOULD BE AT THE SEARS STORE I GOT A RESPONSE "I DON'T KNOW I JUST WORK HERE" I WAS VERY UPSET ABOUT THAT. I ASK TO SPEAK WITH A MANAGER OR WHOEVER WAS OVER THE DEPARTMENT, SHE CAME OUT LOOKING ALL UPSET AND ANGRY AND TOLD ME TO GO TO THE COLUMBIA MALL. I CAN'T BELIEVE PEOPLE NOW A DAYS WOULD BE SO RUDE OVER SOMETHING SIMPLE. I ONLY SHOP AT THAT STORES BECAUSE HAS ALOT OF VARIETY OF CLOTHES THAT I LIKE BUT AFTER THAT INCIDENT I THINK I WOULD JUST SHOP AT THE COLUMBIA MALL WERE ITS CONVIENT AND I DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ANY ATTITUDE....

I was shopping around Christmas last year and left my wallet and lighter on the counter in electronics. When I arrived at the front checkout I realized this and walked back toward electronics to be met halfway through the store with an employee holding my wallet and LIGHTER. He said he found it on the floor. The cash was gone. How did the lighter stay with that wallet? When I ask the manager to run the security tape he told me there was no security cameras in electronics. GREAT MANAGEMENT K-MART....

I have always enjoyed shopping at J.C. Penny when I was looking for clothing on sale. They do have good sales. Recently I went to purchase another one of the bras I have been wearing. It wasn't in stock. I was told they would order it. I waited several weeks and returned. They still did not have the bra in stock. I had a coupon for it, which the sales lady told me she would extend the coupon. When I returned several weeks later the bra wasn't out on 'display' so I ask about it. After a long time the sales lady finally found the bra I needed. I was told I could not use the coupon. It was one I had printed out from a previous receipt survey online. I wasn't going to buy it because I wasn't able to use the coupon. Then the sales lady told me she would 'fix' it where I could use it. I bought 2 of the bras by getting to use the coupon....

The young lady that took care of me was extremely helpful. She had ordered a spring adjuster for my Sears belt sander. She found the part on the computer screen because a part number was not listed in my manual.

The part came in and it was not correct. This makes no sense because I saw the part listed on the computer and even wrote it into my service manual for future reference so I knew she did nothing wrong.

She was very apologetic and was able to research the correct part and get it shipped to my house.

In addition, she pointed out some of the great deals that were just put into their stock. This is a service center and they also carry clearance items.

I even bought a few of these items while I was there.

Sears in Modesto,Ca used to be known for their appliances...now they're known to attract anyone and everyone to buy anything because it somehow became the next Montgomery Wards. Not too exspensive and not too cheap...but always overcrowded with a certain population that gives you a flea market feel when shopping that makes you want to bolt for the door because they can be so rude!...

I wanted to get one of the new frontloading washers, but we are empty nesters and don't have nearly the number of loads that we used to have. So, my husband thought we should just get the old reliable Kenmore washer, but thanks to rebates and sale prices, I was able to get one of the new units for only about $50 more.

I LOVE IT! So many choices of cycles, very quiet, and does a great job with the clothes. I haven't had it long enough to tell how much difference it makes in our water bill, but I do know that I use a lot less detergent and the clothes are clean.

The sales man helped me with this purchase and it was delivered within a couple of days which meant that I didn't have to go to the laundromat. YEA!

The store has a great variety of just about everything. I really appreciate the quality of the tools that I buy and know that they will last me for a long time. The clothes available at Sears have definitely had major improvements over the years, but being a larger person makes it difficult to find clothes that aren't bland. Just because I am a larger person, does NOT mean I don't enjoy some of the same colors and styles they have for the thinner people....

The store is well lit and bright. I am greeted by a sales associate within one minute of entering the store. This person asks if I need help or if they can help with questions. This makes me feel important and gives me the attitude that my business is wanted. I have had to return tools and accessories either because I bought the wrong size or wrong attachment. The sales people were friendly and warm guiding me to the right item and helping me purchase the right tool for the job I was completing. I shop at Sears for this reason and the quality of the items I receive....

I get an average experience when I shop at this KMart. No fluff, no interaction with sales staff...just get your shopping done and go. There is no noticable sales staff walking around to ask questions about items. If I have a question I have to look for a sales associate most of the time in another area of the store. I feel KMart could improve their first impression at the entrance to the store....make it more friendly...give us the welcome glad you stopped by attitude...instead of the blah blah here is our sales items now go shop attitude....

I get all my boys clothes at sears, they have great deals, easy to check out, and lots to pick from.The only thing the store is very packed and hard to get through the ales to look at things. I think I miss seeing alot because of that fact.

I am reviewing the Kmart store in general, Love the baby section although it is small. The rest of the store has a lot to be desired. Old building, not many workers around, dirty and cluttered areas. The people that show there need a bar of soap, some shampoo, clean clothes, a toothbrush, a hairbrush, and some tlc. It's almost scary sometimes being in that store with the others that go there. The clothes racks are often to close together to get through them very easily....

I've shopped at this Sears store at Golf Mill for a long time. I grew up in Niles and I've seen the store way back when. Back when Golf Mill was an outdoor mall (that long ago). I think Sears offers a lot for budget-conscious (or budget-constrained) customers. They usually have good sales on merchandise.

When developers made Golf Mill an indoor mall years ago, it put Sears right smack dab in the middle of the mall. That means that you must pass through Sears to get from one side (Kohl's, Target) to the other (the majority of retailers at this mall). As a result, you can get caught in some bottlenecks, with people whizzing right along, or stopping to look at something. It's a design feature you never quite get used to.

I've never found Sears' clothes for women to be overly fashion-forward. I've bought some tops here, but usually buy jeans: Levi's, Lee's. Latest purchase is Levi's slimming fit boot cut jeans, which I love! Don't have much success when looking for shoes. ......

Sears generally offers great quality at a good price and also offers many specials. When I buy a Crftsman Tool or a Kenmore Appliance, I know that the quality and value are great. This particular store in Fairview Heights also offers, for the most part, great service from their people. Debbie, the manager and Joe in appliances have both been particularly helpful recently when we purchased a new washer. I also own a Kenmore Dryer, a Kenmore Dish Washer, a Kenmore Vacuum, a Craftsman Chain Saw, various Craftsman Tools, a Kenmore Coffee Maker... we even have pots, pans, and pillows from Sears....
