I bought a bedroom set with sheets and comforter and it was missing sheets so I returned it to customer service to exchange. They told me there was no more of the product so I requested my money back. They told me I could have a store credit! What in the world?! There comforters aren't cheap. It cost me $120 for this and they wanted to keep my money so I could probably buy yet another defective/jacked up product. I don't think so. I called corporate and got my money and will never shop there again.
...

darksoul says "kmart the higher priced junk" about Kmart - Springfield, MO

Im looking for a 32 to 42 inch HD TV screen, and was suprised to see the prices of other stores for that "size" of tv screens on much smaller sets.
Almost $400 bucks for a 27 inch tv is very high.

Plus the rude staff. Several of the dvd's mentioned as being "On special;" were out.
I asked if I could get a "rain check" for the dvd I wanted.
The punk siad "It don't rain in the store."
Their food selection is limited. Food that needs to be refrigerated area is smaller, and many things I would want, I have to go to the wal mart accross the street for.
Their clothes and it seems everything is higher priced there.
Kmart, I hope; will go out of business soon. AND take higher priced sears with you....

I live in Round Lake Beach and heard that our Kohl's store has remodeled. They had this "Grand Opening" which I thought was silly because the store was already there and had not enlarged it's size. However, I went in there today and I was very impressed. They had Kohl's normal great selection of clothes, but they had remodelled the store in amazing ways! The dressing room in the juniors section is beautiful! The have cushioned seats for husbands to sit (or moms :)) while the ladies are getting dressed. It looks like the dressing rooms in fancy brand name stores. The service desk used to be in the back, but they moved it to the front. No more dragging my five year old to the back of the store to return anything! I know it sounds silly, but even their bathrooms were immaculate. New shiny counters and stalls and not a scrap of toilet paper on the floor. I was even asked 3 times if I needed any assistance! My kind of store!
...

JayeCarden says "Walmart is the place to find cheap things!" about Walmart - All locations, Nationwide

Walmart is a store that needs no introduction. Everyone is familular with the stores and everyone has shopped there. Walmart is indeed one of the best places to find a good deal on an item. Also of course if it's a Walmart Superstore you shop at then you can get deals on anything from DVDs to groceries.

If you are looking for an American made product, you might find it hard to get at Walmart. In my experiences shopping there I would find mostly Chinese products or things made in other countries. I am always more interested in American made, but still find myself at Walmart alot. Sometimes those good deals at Walmart are hard to resist.

Overall I do enjoy my shopping experiences at Walmart. I almost always get my groceries from them because of the sales and deals they offer. Even though I shop there alot I never buy meat or produce from Walmart.

In all I would suggest Walmart for someone trying to save some money. I would not reccomend Walmart for someone buying meat or produce, or who wants...
...

I like the Kmart in WSP. It is not far from my house and easy to get to. I check out stores a lot after a major holiday. I am always out for the best deal. You can get great discounts after a holiday at the Kmart stores. When they do double coupons up to $2.00 you can get very good deals. They need to do it more often. The only down side, is they will not take internet coupons. I am sure part of the reason is that people are now scamming these coupons. It is too bad people have to wreck it for people that are actually using them properly and trying to get the best deal. I take all my coupons and spend a couple hours at the store. I get a lot of items for free and quite a few for almost free. I use the double coupons I have for cleaning products and personal products along with their adds to get the best deals. I look in the clearance isles, when ever I shop Kmart, and if I have coupons even get a better deal.
...

vivasuzi says "Pant overload! But I did find what I wanted, eventually" about Sears - Westland, MI

I usually don't look for clothes anywhere except my favorite store (New York and Company), however I needed some casual pants since the few pairs I owned finally had it. I usually don't shop at Sears since the last few years I've found it hard to know what section I belong in. Their store isn't labelled well, or at least not well enough for me to notice signs, so I don't even know what section is for me. It's rough. I bought some turtlenecks there last year, but it was just a fluke that I saw them.

Anyway this weekend my mom was looking for some clothes and shoes at Sears and I decided to look too since I had time while she tried stuff on. There were SO MANY PANTS! I swear there were 40+ racks of pants. Some were labelled with what style they were, others weren't. I'd find the rack that was labelled for the style I liked (straight leg), then I'd find my size and the pants I pulled out were often times not the same style as on the rack label. So many of the items were misplaced....
...

Walmart, as everyone knows is the place to find bargins, to value shop. I shop at Walmart and it's Superstores for groceries, household items, pet supplies, etc. But jewelry I usually only purchase at a speciality jewelry store and when I was looking for a pearl ring for my mom, who hinted in the past that she would love one, I was having difficulty finding one that I really liked, that could be worn on an almost daily basis and was simple yet sophisticated. As I was searching the internet, after not finding much in stores, I thought I would just check WalMart as you never know what a store has until you look. Well unbeknowst to me, not only did Walmart online.com have the perfect ring, it was the perfect price. I paid less than half of the retail prices that other well known jewelry stores were charging. My mom has had this ring for over 3 months and wears it almost everyday. She said it was absolutely perfect, just what she wanted. When shopping for holidays in the near future, don't rule...
...

I love finding a great deal so Ross Dress For Less is definitely one of my favorites. I usually visit the one in Rockwell plaza but I've never been to one that I didn't like. There is always so much to choose from and it's a great place to go when your looking for something different. I find a lot of really cute toys for my kids. I plan on doing most of my Christmas shopping there this year. I love accessories and I can always find so many things there and the prices are so great that I don't have to choose, I just buy them all. They also have a great selection of seasonal decorations. I can spend so much time in that store.
...

I bought 2 tires at Sears Auto Dept. Got a great deal on the two that I bought. (couldn't afford to get 4 at once). The Sales staff was extremely helpful, since I don';t knowmuch about cars and especially tires. They went outside in pouring rain to get the size of the tires without any complaint. They gave the sale price even though the sale ended two days prior.

When i went back a month later for the other two tires, they pulled up my record of purchases on their computer and gave me the tires for the same price i paid the month before. (and the tires had even went up in price). They definitely get my repeat business. And i highly recommend them to everyone i know who needs tires.
...

My son lost his job about a year ago, needless to say he and myself got behind on bills. I made sure to call people I owed and explain to them that payments may be late but this is just a temperory problem and will soon be resolved. Sears didn't care to hear that, even though I kept in contact letting them know when I would be paying late, which was still seldom, they didn't care. They cancled my credit card even though I did keep in contact with them. I don't blame a company for canceling a card if you never call and never make your payments. But if they see you are trying, they should try to work with you. I didn't charge anything while I was having trouble, I was just trying to pay what was already charged. My son got a job, my credit is back on track and Sears gets no more of my business.

Also, trying to return something is like pulling teeth, but since I don't go there any longer, I don't have to worry about that.
...

alephbet says "Glad to have it -- I'd rather shop here than Vestal" about Kmart - Endicott, NY

I'm happy to have Kmart in Endicott. I'm grateful I don't have to battle the hordes in Vestal to shop for basic things, and cheap clothes.

As the previous review mentioned, I also have experienced such pleasant employees in this Kmart--no harried, unhelpful folks, as in other more crowded chain stores. I'm happy to have a less crowded store. I avoid shopping at the box stores in Vestal like the plague. I mostly purchase clothing, and linens, and have purchased gardening items. I have not noticed things being frequently out of stock, as the other reviewer claims.

I think we are lucky that it still manages to be in business, considering how 'uncrowded' it seems to be much of the time. Unfortunately, many people in the area choose to go to the hideous Walmart in Vestal for everything under the sun.

I love Wal-Mart stores. They have everything you need in one store. You can get groceries while at the same time getting personal or pets stuff. they also have the lowest prices around. Friendly workers. They are also know alot about the products they sell and try to help you the best way they can. Even if that means telling you, you can get a better deal somewhere else. They take all coupons, and price match anything so if you do find something for cheaper you can still go to walmart and get the cheaper price. Most walmarts also do bake sales and food drops to try and help the community they are in. Great!
...

My name is Chelsea and you must be out of your mind if I'm paying $29 for a plain basic 'T'. Target is the palce for people who don't know what is 'in' or kids going back to school unsure if they want to be bold so they play it safe and shop at the most generic outfitter in Spokane (next to Shopko - a whole other disaster in itself). Basically Target is a mini Walmart and if you've read my reviews you know I don't like Walmart. You know I don't even go there to people watch anymore.. anyways.. the first review I read for this place was aweful "they have everything I need in one store" ... So I thought I might share what this Target is really about for everyone else that was looking for detail. Point blank, target is boring and simple. Hey, if you don't have a personality then Target is the right store for you. But just a hint to all those headed back to school - earn yourself a name and place in school and venture...
...

The only reason Walmart is known as the best place to 'people watch' is because all the wierd people shop there. I know 'wierd' may be a bit dergoitory but SERIOUSLY 78% of walmart shoppers wear PJs while they are buying groceries. Another thing is I just don't understand Walmart's marketing techinqe. Was the owner one day maping out his store and said "You know what would go great next to this clothes line? VEGITABLES!" I mean come on. And maybe that's why all the wierd people are found here because they only have to go to Walmart instead of multiple stores where they'd be subject to humans with opinions like me.

I went in to the appliance building which is separate from the main Sears store to inquire about buying a new television. I get to the store and was greeted nicely. By the time i left, it was a nightmare. I was asked if I needed help but every question I asked was not able to be answered such as, How much does this one cost? And what specifications do you have about this T.V? None of these questions were answered so I asked to speak to a manager or someone who can actually help me. I was continuously told by one employee that it was not her department. I went to another employee who let me speak to a manager. After about ten more minutes, I was told by the manager that the employee next to him would help me. After I asked the first question the person helping me went to go find out the answer and told me to wait where i was. After ten minutes more, I went looking for the person I was speaking to and he was at a cash register taking care of other customers. I asked for the manager again...
...

I visit our local Super Walmart store approximately three to four times per week. I am not able to beat their prices on any products at other local stores such as hardware, drugs, groceries, appliance, and electronics stores.

They offer a site to store program over the internet. This site to store program gives you the ability to find anything you wish for online and order it up to be delivered to your local Walmart store. The only thing I do not like about the Site To Store program is that they do not have a next day or a 24 hour delivery on the products. Some can take up to a week for the store to receive.
...

T.J. Maxx is so unpredictable! However lately (within this past year) I have found that T.J.Maxx isn't carrying the brands I like. Half the things in the store are either broken or flawed. I know that this is a "discounted" store but how on earth do they expect people to even pay that kind of price for damaged items?

They also never seem to have enough store associates on the floor. I wait in lines F-O-R-E-V-E-R! At most, they have three people working but usually only one or two.

My boyfriend loves T.J. Maxx and I can see why- he's clothing selection is amazing. The brands they carry for men are fabulous and "known" (i.e. Calvin Klein, DKNY, Tommy, etc) but then walk over to the womens side and no brands are "known"- they're all cheap department store brands. I don't even bother to go in the womens section because it's all dissapointment!

If I stop into T.J. Maxx, It's to either look at clothes for my b/f, bathroom stuff, kitchen utensils, or blankets.
...

deviltress says "Kmart-Round Lake Beach, IL" about Kmart - Round Lake Beach, IL

I'll start off saying, have never shopped at that Kmart, but I must say I agree with the last comment. I am also, a recently previous employee of 5 years at the local Kmart. I started working there back in 2003, and when I was hired, I had to go through a week's worth of training...they wanted us to be prepared, and help us with customer satisfaction. I had quit and went back, and the second time I went back, there was absolutely no training, for anything, not even as a cashier!!! They just hired people, and not really with a standard either, they just hired people to have the enough employees. I worked with some really lazy people...ones who thought just because they showed up for work that they were entitled to their pay!!! I worked my way up to customer service, and I only ended up there by chance...an associate left for lunch and never came back, so I had ended up there without the proper training, just winging it, without the pay that customer service associates received. ...
...

AngryConsumer says "Beware of there uneducated, over anxious, seurity guard jokes!!" about Sears - ELYRIA, OH

Beware of the uneducated, over anxious, meatheads that sears hires for security. It is very obvious that the gentleman that I dealt with today flunked out of the police academy and now he takes his job too serious. I went into the store to purchase several tools today as I do quite often, but today i was harrassed but a security guard and accused of trying to swap on ten dollar level for one twelve dollar level because I pulled them out of the packages and stuck them to a pole to see which one held better. I was then assaulted by the want to be cop andescorted to the loss prevention department where the officer confiscated my sales reciept and the level that I paid for and wrote up his B/S report. He then told me that sears will be sending me a bill of which "they can charge me whatever they deem fit" to reimburse them for there troubles. I was then escorted off of the premises and told never to come back. Now all of this was done in front of customers so that they could embarass...
...
