The service at Apple is unbelievable! They're all so helpful, knowledgeable and nice, every single time I go in there! Someone will immediately ask you how they can help, and take you to the right place, and get you set up, or answer questions, whatever you need! It's amazing! I keep telling them they should teach other companies about customer service, because no one does it like them! Specifically this is about the Twelve Oaks Mall location, in Novi, MI, but I'm sure all the other locations are the same! And, when I have a problem, which is all of twice, it seems like there are at least three people helping out, making sure everything that can be done gets done and right away! I tell everyone I can about them!
...

pitcherday says "Apple Store cares about customer input even when it's negative" about The Apple Store - West Des Moines, IA

I hate The Apple Store. I have been to 3 of them in three different states and they are all the same - utter chaos. When I buy an iTunes gift card, I like to buy them from The Apple Store. They come in a nice presentation, in a large white card with silver foil embossing and a nice envelope. Nicer than the card stuck to a piece of cardboard with a piece of snot-like adhesive like when you buy them from Walmart or wherever. You can also buy a RED iTunes gift card where some of the proceeds benefit charity in Africa. You can't buy those anywhere else.

Apple stores are always crammed with people and it doesn't matter how many salespeople are on the floor - it's never enough and they always blend in with the customers too much. When you get one they are friendly and helpful, though. They have this annoying way of checking people out. They don't use registers. They carry around this scanner thing and swipe your card. That would be fine, but they are so busy! Apparently in the Apple Store in...
...

SONY SUCKS!!
Guys i've never seen this before! I have warranty with sony and brought my laptop to the store because it kept freezing. After rebooting it, i lost all my files, pics, documents and programs worth hundrets of dollars. They blaimed a virus attack, but it still froze, so i brought it back again. They sent it to service, and it took them weeks to work on it! I got it finally back, and i asked what the problem was, and the representative said, they usually put notes on but all they marked was that they changed the hardware and cleaned the vents. I was sceptical but took it as it was. At home it froze again! So i brought it back again. they sent it to service again and i got it back weeeeeks later! i received a phone call to pick up my laptop again. So i asked the represantative agin what the problem was, and again he didnt know. all he could say was they worked on it and ran tests on the hardware that lasted 50hours to make sure it doesn;'t freeze anymore. I got mad! Last time...
...

I have dealt with Nettek Microcenter before and was leery of their business practices. There was just something about the way they handled themselves that just didn't sit right with me. My computer has been serviced by them before, and always seemed to have another problem later on down the line.

We took it in and my hubby was trying to explain to the Tech what the problem seemed to be. My hubby is very familiar with computers and knows all the "Tech Talk", which I am mostly confused over! Just like a car, I can gas it and add oil and drive, but I can't change oil or give it a tune up, same with the "mechanics" of a computer! I can burn the midnight oil Blogging, Gaming, and other things, but don't ask me to upgrade or fix anything! Lol.....Anyways, he had a good idea what was going on.

We received a call soon after taking it in. The "Tech" said it was my Motherboard. He explained that it was fried. My hubby at this point became suspicious himself. When he asked how much he was quoted a...
...

As far as this store goes, there's not much difference between any of the other Best Buys, but this store in particular has sales people or whatever they're called now that are particularly unhelpful to women - or maybe it's just me.

I've been to this Best Buy and the one over in Potomac Yards many times and never have I been there when a sales person has offered to help me - even when I'm obviously waiting for help.

On one visit, a sales clerk who'd seen me looking lost at some video cards, obviously trying to figure out which to get, when a man came down the same aisle. He immediately went to the man and asked him if he could help him, completely ignoring me.

Maybe it's just computer/electronic stores that hire these young men who just can't be bothered to help females, but I've never once been asked "may I help you" at this particular store.
...

I went into office max with several adds I had from the sunday paper to compare prices for computer printers. I had an add from Best Buy, Sears, and one other store so that i could compare prices and buy my wife a printer for her Birthday which is today 8 Jan along with my favorite dead singer - good old Elvis!!! I was looking for an HP or Lexmark which seemed to be the best buys around town during this period. I also had a grocery sack from Sundays paper to Officer Max which offered a 15% discount on items you could stuff in the bag. As I walked into the store I was greeted immediately with a hello from the lady behind the counter who saw I had the sack in my hand. She immediately said that anything I bought even if it wouldn't fit in the bag would be 15% off since i did have it with me. So I was greeted with a smile and a bonus of 15% off anything I bought. I asked her where the computer printers were and she left her post to show me. I compared all the prices with the......

I've shopped Best Buy before and - aside from a credit hassle with their Fort Myers, FL store, which may have been a HBSC problem - I have been satisfied with the service.

This time, I went looking for a new laptop computer. Best Buy had advertised an eMachine at at $299. I'm not a fan of eMachines so I went to Best Buy more to see what else they had that would be a good bargain.

Behold, there was a Dell with a display tag that said $377, reduced from $645. That's looking good for a 2G dual-core processor. Being thorough, I started to test run the display computer. It identified the unit I was working as being 3G, however.

When confronted with this information, the clerk said it was not actually the same computer, but that it was virtually the same computer, only with less memory.

So I asked if I could buy the computer on display with the 2G sign at the $377 price.

When the answer was "no", I asked to see the 2G version.

The clerk came back from seeing his supervisor and said the supervisor said......

I've been gong in the Bose store at Westfield for about two years , now. Before this week, I'd never made a single purchase there. In some ways, I guess I've been a salesman's worst nightmare. The salesmen at Bose, however, are really nice. One of them has recognized me on my many visits, always says hello, and always lets me know he's around if I have any questions. Some stores, especially electronics stores, are staffed by shadowy figures...sales people who follow you around and try and push certain products. Not so at Bose. The sales people there keep a respectful distance, always letting you know they're available if you need them, but never bugging you or hounding you or smothering you with unwanted attention. They successfully strike a balance that works - they neither ignore, nor stalk customers.

The Bose store at Westfield has a small theatre, where they give a multimedia demonstration of a number of their products. It's really well set-up and executed, and staff members are always...
...

ally131 says "Poor quality, poor service, and what is the deal w/phone #?" about Radio Shack - Fort Worth, TX

After having received mediocre service from Radio Shack in the past, I decided to go ahead and give them a chance again. My husband and I purchased a new vehicle with an ipod dock. We went to Radio Shack to get a longer cable for the ipod, because the one we had was only a few inches long. We purchased a cable, took it home and hooked it up. The tip of the cable immediately broke off inside the dock, and it was pretty much impossible to remove (it was so tiny).

We contacted Radio Shack, and after several weeks they informed us that in order to investigate our claim, we would have to send them the ipod dock (which was a part of the car, built into the console).

The quality of this cable was so poor that it didn't even work once. In the future, I will shop at other electronics stores and bypass Radio Shack completely.

And what is the deal with them always asking for your phone number? Even for a pack of batteries!
...

My son bought a remote-controlled car set there that comes with different parts meant for customization. Within an hour of buying it, it broke. We took it back to the store expecting them to replace or repair it, but the only thing they offered was to let him buy another one at 50% off. When we showed them the 90 day warranty, they claimed that my son had abused it and that was what caused it to break. I was with him the whole time and knew that he had played with it in the way that it was meant to be played with. We even contacted the regional office, but they didn't offer anything either. To make it short, I didn't feel valued as a customer. It was a $40 toy which is a lot of money to a 12 yr old boy, and not much to a big corporation such as Radio Shack. I felt they should have fixed or replaced it with a smile, but they were rude and accusatory. I will never step foot in a Radio Shack again....

The Genius Bar at the Apple Store is a place to answer both your big or little mac questions. I would recommend to anyone who has a mac problem to try the Genius Bar.They are experts in Apple products and will help you understand in layman terms what is wrong and how to solve your problem. Appointments can be made anywhere.
It is sometimes difficult to find support who are familiar with Apple products and it can be a frustrating ordeal finding someone to answer your mac questions correctly, but the experts at the Genius Bar know what they are talking about.
...

Intro
I'm not sure if there is an equivalent for PC computers, but Mac users have the advantage of using Apple Computer's Genius Bar. When there's a problem with your Mac computer, iPod, etc., you can bring it into the nearest Apple Store, as they all hold walk-in service centers called "Genius Bar.

My First Visit
The pin on the plug for my power adapter had broken off and was stuck inside my iBook where the plug fits in. I picked up a new third party plug at CompUSA, but there was no way to get that pin out. I wondered if there was a place nearby to get it fixed. I'd taken my desktop to a place in the next city over, St. Charles a few times before, but they kept it for a week usually. I didn't have that time.

I found I could make an appointment with the nearest Apple Store at their Genius Bar. The nearest store was in Woodfield Shopping Mall forty-five minutes away, but what was I to do? I made the appointment, packed up my cord and laptop and headed out.
