irresistible306 says "Only Clothing Store For Me" about Express - Ames, IA

I used to have a hell of a time finding jeans that fit me and looked good on me. Jeans I bought that claimed they were my size would usually have one of two problems. (1) They would fit around my legs and hips, but then be too big around the waist. (2) They wouldn't go up past my thighs.

For a while I wore these ill-fitting jeans that I had until one day I realized I only had two pairs that I always wore because they fit the best out of all my jeans. I needed to go jean shopping! I thought about the stores I used to go to find jeans and decided I was going to stop getting jeans there. This led me to go to the local mall and go into some stores that I'd never gone to before.

I tried jeans on at American Eagle, the Gap, and Aeropostale, before wandering into Express. Neither of the other three stores had anything that fit particularly well. When I entered Express, I headed straight for the giant wall of jeans they had in the back of the store. One thing I noticed about the store right off...
...

domesticgoddess424 says "Something for any shape or size" about Fashion Bug Plus - Columbus, GA

Fashion Bug has become my ultimate shopping destiny when I am in the mood to buy something new or when I need a replacement. Most times I decline opening store credit cards that require an annual fee, as the benefits don't always outwiegh the cost. The Fashion Bug credit card however, is the one time I caved, as I am always in there shopping for something. The $25.00 annual fee is worth it if you are a Fashion Bug Lover. The Premier Card allows you to get a $10.00 certificate for every $100.00 you spend and it doesn't have to be by a certain month, or date to obtain the certificate points. The $10.00 is a free certificate that can be used even on "priced right" items that are normally banned from additional discounts. On top of this feature, you also get a higher % off on sales. Let's say the normal sale is 40% if you have a Fashion Bug Card, Premeir card holders will get 50%. You also get birthday certificates, private sales and other great benefits. I highly recommend the store, its apparell,...
...

compu891 says "Great Quality for a Low Price" about T.J. Maxx - Chicago, IL

I have only visited the T.J. Maxx in Tinley Park, but it is a wonderful store. I was very surprised by the amount of departments and the variety of items in such a small space. Although the store is a little messy, it surprisingly did not feel too cluttered. It is organized very well.

My initial trip to T.J. Maxx was for clothing for myself but I ended up also finding toys for my son and some home decor items as well. Not only does the T.J. Maxx carry brand name clothing items, but brand names in other items as well. It was around Christmas time and I was able to find Thomas the Train toys for my son as well as some home decor items to give as a gift to a family member.

Since most of the items in the store are brand name, they are still fairly expensive. If I went to another discount store, I might expect to purchase a similar item at a lesser price, but it would be a "knockoff". Because you are buying the actual brand but at a lesser price, you can assume the quality of the...
...

So, I'm not really a negative person, but I've got to say that I do not like the feeling I get when walking into the Victoria's Secret store. When you walk in the sales people immediately rush up to you blurting out a million and one sales, promotions, and new items and push a black bag up to your face to shop with. Their demeanor is completely fake and after their little spiel they just walk away as fast as they came up to you. And I like to take my time to look around and it seems when people do that in their stores they are just as eager to get you to the register as they were to lure you into the door. Not to mention that I know that Victoria's Secret is a high target store, meaning they get items stolen from them up the zing-zang they are apt to talk on their headsets to one another like everyone in the store is a shoplifter. I don't like the service there. They are slow to get sizes, usually cut you off to talk to another customer who rudely interrupts, and are very cold at the check...
...

Stumbled upon this chain of stores ("THe Nordstrom Rack", affectionally called "The Rack.")while vacationing in CA. It is the TJMaxx of Nordstroms, only the quality of the clothes are much better than TJMaxx. Mid-level designer clothes are available (Calvin Klein, Jones New York, Lucky, Juicy, Susan Lawrence, Karen Kane, Don Hardy, etc.) at wonderfully low prices, true designer clothes (Elie Tahari, Prada, etc) at major discounts (say, $500 for a $1500 item) and certain clothing lines made especially for Norstrom. The shoe department is Imelda's dream - everything from Keen and Ecco to Cole-Hahn and Manolo. They have an entire discount section of Neutrogena products, Palladio makeup, other makeup lines I cannot recall, Bliss products, BedHead, Paul Mitchell, etc. Their sunglass collection is immense - their costume jewelry is quality stuff and well-priced. The lingere is one of my favorite sections. I wear a rare bra size that I cannot find in any store except a lingere specialty...
...

ursyre says "New Tafford Uniforms Scrubs Are Awesome" about Tafford Manufacturing Incorporated - North Wales, PA

Just wanted to comment on Tafford scrubs since this posting seems to be a bit old.

Tafford Uniforms is the new company and its no longer called Tafford Manufacturing. Tafford Uniforms carry's much better scrubs than the past. They are still in the same location and you get great access to their entire warehouse if you dont find something you like on the showroom floor. The girls that work in there are more than happy to find exactly what you need no matter what kind of scrubs your into.

What makes the new style Tafford scrubs even better is they have very cute holiday scrubs which change each season so you will never find the same print over and over again. The quality is even better than before and my scrubs tend to last 5 times longer than the old material.

Take the time to stop by on a Friday, as the other poster mentioned they have crazy deals where scrubs are often 50-75 percent off so they can clear the store for new print scrubs and new solid scrub styles.

pitcherday says "Great selection for Big & Tall men - and excellent service!" about People's Clothing Store - Boone, IA

When we moved to Iowa, my husband got a job delivering appliances and lumber and such. We had just gotten out of the Army, so basically he had no other work clothes than ACU's. He's a big and tall guy and it is often hard to find clothing that fits him correctly. He has very broad shoulders that often require the size XXXL. He needed work jeans and steel-toe boots and a heavy work jacket that wouldn't get ripped by the items he was moving. One day, we were driving through Boone and saw an unassuming store front with a sign that said they had Big & Tall sizes. It was People's Clothing and it looked pretty small. We hadn't had much luck with big brand name stores, so we didn't have much hope for it.

Boy do they make good use of the size of this store! It is chock-full of items and has a HUGE selection of big and tall! We easily got three pair of different style jeans with the long inseam we needed. We found a heavy canvas work jacket in XXXL. They had the boots there too! We had been to...
...

I recently went in to Spankys to try to consign my sons old clothes. Mind you that it was my first time doing consignment. I stood at the counter with my basket full of clothes and a wiggling month old for about 12 minutes before any of the 5 ladies behind the counter even acknowleded me. And then one of them rudely said, "Do you need something?" I explained that I would like to drop off clothes for consignment. I got no response!! They just went on about their business. So I said, "excuse me could someone please help me" At that time one of ladies came over and with an attitude told me that I needed to lay the clothing out flat on the counter and until I do that they cannot help me. At this point I am appalled at the customer service and I snap back at her explaining that I have never done this before and all someone needed to do from the beginning is ask if I had consigned before and if I need any assistance, because with out any direction someone who is new to this would not know Spankys'...
...

I happen to be a person will little money that loves looking my best. With Charlotte Russe I can do just that have my look and keep most of my money (if I don't spend all of it on every awesome deal I find!). Located in the mall I can also look around at other stores (not that I ever find a need to) Charlottee Russe is the store that all my friends go into when we have a little bit of spending cash that we want to go a little ways. With awesome promotions and discount prices we always find the prefect shirt for the prefect price. The service is also exceptional with the people always willing to help you find something or recommend another items to complete the look you are trying to create. It is my favorite clothing store for all the crazy different cloth styles I can find in one place. I love how everything is always clean and organized as well, and even though often I am discouraged at other stores they always seem to have my size which makes for a more lovely shopping experience.

It used to be one went to Fashion Bug to pick up nice, hip clothes and even work attire. The clothes were nice and the prices were very reasonable. I don't shop for clothes very often, I guess I am the anti-woman when it comes to that stereotype, but when I go I end up spending at least a couple of hundred dollars on seriously awesome outfits or whatever I need.

I don't know what has happened to Fashion Bug, but they went from being trendy to being old lady. The clothing styles are now more like something my grandmother would wear and the place is packed with it, you can barely walk around the store and see what is available. The dresses look more like housecoats, the t-shirts are such a baggy cut that no matter what your shape and size, you look like a blob. They have little to no shorts, the skorts are all gone, and forget about trying to find a skirt. The prices are outrageous - $30 for a pair of shorts or ugly, blob shirt.

I have never understood the people that swear by this store. Every time I have gone in I find something I love, take it to the dressing room only to discover it is ripped or has a huge unsightly ( and unsanitary) stain on it. Which i have been told by the sales girl is normal considering the stock is "as is"- something NOT reflected in the barely marked-down prices. I never end up buying anything, I just walk out discouraged and empty handed. I 'get' what the store is trying to be, and it could be great if the merchandise wasn't totally destroyed, even goodwill has higher quality items than Jeremys.
...

I am a professional woman in a 26 year career. I work in Sales and I am a plused sized woman. I am constantly looking for clothes that fit my body and look fashionable without being too tight and ill fitting. Through my life, I have attempted to shop many many MANY times at the Lane Bryant stores all over several states. I find their attention to the plus size career woman lacking in many areas. First of all, heavy women and spandex are 2 words that should never be in the same sentence. WHY would the buyers for Lane Bryand continue to put this material out for larger women. The clingy, spandex material hugs the body, shows every bump and bulge and looks horrible. I find that Lane Bryant tends to lean more towards the teenage crowd with the materials and designs they buy. Face it Lane Bryant Buyers - not all heavy women are comfortable in spandex, LOUD prints, short shirts and sleeveless tops and dresses and most certainly not something that ties around the waist. Certainly a heavier woman......

They make returns a pleasant experience and get the job done quickly and with a smile. The cashiers greet you with a smile and make you feel welcome. The clearance sales are the best one will find in retail with some items as low as two or three dollars for a good piece of womans clothing and some childrens clothing for as low as seventy cents to a dollar. The home goods section is kept very clean and you are sure to find some really cute quality items for yourself or as gifts. But I keep going back because I love their products.

I buy clothing for myself, and find LandsEnd items to be great gifts. Seems that most everyone loves the brand.
Msellief says " Designer clothes for your children at a fraction of the price" about The Second Child - Chicago, IL

The Second Child, which is located upstairs at 954 W. Webster Ave in Lincoln Park is a gold

> mine. It is an upscale children's and maternity wear resale boutique that

> your readers need to know about. The owner, Amy Helgren, has been in

> business for 21 years and given the economy and the desire to "recycle and repurpose" says she has never been busier. Check out

>

> Any parent can relate to how quickly children out grow their clothes,

> especially those beautiful holiday and party ensembles. These beautiful

> clothes have literally been worn once. Amy's customers are fashionable and

> smart--many are also consigners themselves. Who doesn't know how good it

> feels to clean out those kids drawers and closets and have a place to take

> them where they are valued and sell quickly? It's a great way to pass along your sense of style to another child.

>

> Here are some of the latest trends that I have observed at local consignment

> shops in general:

> Many "recessionistas"...
...

three3girls says "My favorite Lands End store to shop at." about Lands End NQP store - Roseville, MN

I shop the LandsEnd NQP store as much as I possibly can. It is not close to my home or convinent in any other way but I make the time to go to the NQP store. I have been able to score some great bargains. I found all my daughters uniform pants there for as low as $5 each. That saved me at least $200 if I brought them from the uniform store. The quality is the same as the Inlet. They labeled what is "wrong" with the item and most times it is discontinued or just overstock. You can't go wrong with high quality and better than discount store prices....
