mytoocents says "Unlimited Free Phone Service anywhere in the U.S. ---Yeah Right?" about - Palo Alto, CA

Yes it's true..Free Calls. Ok I just bought this today after much research and comparison with other like services. I LOVE it. I've been calling everyone saying "Can you hear me now?". On the Skype phone my father would say "hang up and call from a real phone- I can't hear you!". Skype was ok as long as I stood by the computer - which had to be ON for the phone to work. Skype is free to anyone in the world as long as they are a skype user too. There is a smal fee to call non Skype users and fee plans to call internationally. Skype calls were not always clear and often faded in and out. I also had to buy Skype equipment - a headset and a cell phone type phone (now for sale on Craig's List). I spent about 100.00 bucks for the phones and the 1 years service that allowed me to keep the same phone number for the year.

I LOVE my Ooma it's awesome!!! Here's why I love Ooma. I use my existing cordless house phones (that were collecting dust because I was just using...
...

housss says "Why pay for two phones." about cingular - sacramento, CA

Hi, I used to own a cingular phone and I carried it everywhere. Well, I got ripped off because they would not be understanding about what they said. I got stuck with a bill month after month and I would have to pay 150.00 to get it turned off. So I kept it and I payed it. Well, I do not think the cingular phone is a worthwhile project for people who get ripped off with it. I asked for it to be turned off and they did not on the certain date and I had to carry it around and use it for a whole year. Thirty five dollars a month it was to keep it, and that was too much for me. I called and called cingular and did not talk to the manager to solve and just took it like a grain of salt . We do not lose the salt of the earth to be trampled under the foot of men. So I took it like a grain of salt and I paid and got out of trouble and the God blessed me not to have a cellalar phone again. So I do not like cellular phones.
...

RudiXeno says "Verizon Wireless: In South Florida, there's no other" about Verizon Wireless - Boca Raton, FL

It seems hard to be true, but my current two year plan with Verizon is almost up.

Now usually, when my plan is up so is my association with that provider. I've tried them all: Sprint, ATT, T-Mobile, Cingular (the new ATT) and finally Verizon.

We have a winner!

With this portfolio of experience behind me, I can claim that at least in South Florida Verizon's network is king. Forget those "fewest dropped calls" claims made by ATT. With Verizon I think about dropped calls about as often as I do with my land lines, which is to say never.

So, this year, instead of focusing on finding a replacement plan (and provider), instead I'll be selecting a new phone as part of the "New in Two"feature offered by Verizon.

Actually, what Verizon does is it gives you a $100 credit toward the purchase of your new phone. And, finally Verizon has some phones really worth looking at.

The new LG Voyager - Titanium can be mine for free. Nice touch screen with a full qwerty keyboard inside. Nice, very nice....
...

I am very dissapointed in Sprint/Nextel Customer Service.

I called them on 3 separate occasions regarding charges posted to my checking account, that should not have been charged to it & it created an overdraft to my account, which I was very upset about. I was on the phone 2-3 hours each time I called and was switched around to different departments so many times I lost count and the issue still has not been resolved. I am very upset and frustrated to say the very least.
...

Ok I have been a Cricket customer for nearly two years and I should say for the first part of the two years has been ok. But I would have to add that in that time I really didn't have to call customer service for any reason. For the most part I am happy with the service until I have to deal with calling the dummies. First you have to deal with the normal automated answering service and then you might or might not speak to a live rep.

It's frustrating at best and then two out of three times you get disconnected before ever speaking with anyone. Then when you do happen upon a live body they don't speak a language that is understood in the US. When you try and tell them the problem they act as if they don't know what you mean and they can't explain properly what happened. Not to mention I have had just paid my phone bill and they disconnected my service. Then when I call all they say is oops ma'am we are sorry for the inconvenience. If I wasn't so opposed to signing a contract...
...

I've been a faithful T-Mobile user for years. In the last several months, I've been ready to throw my Sidekick into a wall. Service has been spotty, emails were arriving late, and the spam kicked into high gear. The keyboard on my Sidekick bubbled up and the "J" key went missing.

It was time to find something else, but I knew I didn't want to continue with T-Mobile. Other friends were having the same problems with the spotty service. We tried Virgin phones for the kids, but the monthly plans kept resorting back to pay-as-you-go and our bill was getting higher and higher.

So on a whim, I stopped in the Verizon store in Bolingbrook several days ago. I walked out with four phones for a total of $114 per month-- unlimited data plans and 700 shared voice calls. We received a discount thanks to my husband's place of employment.

I have to say this for that Verizon location-- the customer service is excellent. I wasn't happy with the first phone so I switched to a Blackberry. ...
...

We have had this service for years but always thought it was too expensive. There just weren't a lot of options for cellular service in Alaska so we just stayed with them. When we moved to Utah we were excited to be able to choose from other providers who were less expensive but we learned pretty quickly by spending time around other people who had various other providers that we have the best coverage by far. We travel back and forth from Utah to Wyoming a few times a year and where other people say that they lose coverage when driving that route, we never have. We can go back into remote valleys in Utah where none of our friends get coverage and we still have coverage. People complain that they get spotty coverage in our own town because we are back in a valley...but we have never noticed a problem even once. We never have dropped calls that they joke about in commercials either. Even though the service is a little more expensive than some others I think we'll stay right......

What is Ooma?

Ooma is a sleek device with a sophisticated design that is easy to set-up and use to provide unlimited local and long distance service through a broadband internet connection. By simply connecting the Ooma device to your broadband modem and a regular (wired or wireless) telephone, you may make all the local and long distance (within US) calls you want and not pay another dime - no monthly (or even yearly) phone bills ever again!

Ooma, in many ways, is a game changing/revolutionary device when it comes to telecommunications from the home. How so? Think about it, no monthly or yearly bills from a phone company (Ma Bell or VOIP), and to top it off, no taxes and fees on those fees!

You might ask, if the maker of Ooma doesn't charge a monthly service, how do they make money? Well, the catch is, they sell the Ooma device for $399 until January 1, 2007 when the introductory offer expires and the price goes back up to the regular price of $599. There is also an optional companion......
