Sprinkles is a great find in the middle of Beverly Hills. They make cupcakes exclusively, and the available flavors change daily on a regular weekly schedule. The cupcakes are simply decorated with ample frosting, and are consistently moist and rich. However, at nearly four dollars apiece, this can be an indulgence! The place is tiny (basically a counter and display case), and the only inside seating is at a few stools at a counter along the window - expect to get jostled as you wait for your order! The line often winds out the door and down the street, but the service is rather efficient and the line moves quickly.

This is always my first stop when someone I know is having a birthday. It is their own personal cake that is decadent and delicious. All of the cupcakes are cleverly named, such as: devil wears prada, pretty in pink, hostess with the mostess, monkey business and many others. My favorite is the red velvet cupcakes and even the plain vanilla. They are so pretty and come in great little personal boxes (or larger boxes, if needed)...so they are the perfect little present. They are reasonably priced at $2-$2.50 per cupcake and they do offer volume pricing.

They are open Tuesday-Sunday.

Final Thoughts: If you are lucky to live close to Cake in a Cup...go grab one and enjoy!

We contracted this company to provide pastries for our coffee station at the wedding reception and to provide deserts specifically for our home for the after party for family. On the morning of the wedding the owner delivered two pies to the home and three trays of pastries to the wrong location. In addition the chocolate covered strawberries which were instructed to be delivered to the home were instead spread among the pastries for the coffee station. The net result is we got nothing in the proper location and none of which except two pies in the form we gave instructions to. Within 90 minutes early AM of finding the errors I contacted the owner to notify him and to request he correct the circumstances he has created. His attitude "uncaring and unwilling to even discuss it". " Can I call call you back later? Later is I suppose after the wedding was over' This man for formal events is incompetent. He has a lousy attitude and basically doesn't give a C***. You would be best served if...

Sweet comfort is a really sweet store. They have all kinds of candy bins for the kids...gummy candies, sour candies, chocolates. They also have very fine chocolates for the adults. The chocolates are made of belgien chocolate. Some of the things she makes are: coconut clusters, cashew clusters, peanut clusters, pecan clusters, peanut-butter buckeyes, chocolate fudge, peanut-butter fudge, chocolate brownies, pralines, almond toffee, and truffles. The truffles she makes are some of the best i've ever had. She has all different flavors, raspberry(dark and milk), ameretto, mocha, carmel, and orange. She also has a few chocolates that she doesn't make herself such as: carmels, lemon cremes, maple cremes, Jordan crackers, and more. There is also lots of jams and jellies, nuts, scone mixes, flavored coffees, chip dips, and much much more! She will also occasionally make and decorate cakes for birthdays, anniversary's and such. It is a great place to go if you just need a simple assortment of chocolates...

Like most cities, Lafayette has no shortage of places to find a good doughnut. What that means is that if someone is going to open a doughnut shop, they need to find a way to distinguish themselves. The people at Jak's Donuts have done this by creating a friendly and pleasant environment. I go there on a fairly regular basis, and I'm always greeted warmly (they recognize me as a regular customer). That means a lot in a day and age where customer service is an endangered species.

Ok, so what about the doughnuts? The doughnuts are very good. The selection is pretty typical (at least for around here). The only thing they offer that's unique is what they call a "crumb" doughnut. Crumb doughnuts appear to me to be regular glazed doughnuts that are coated with what appears to be the crumb topping that comes with some muffin mixes. They come in several varieties including blueberry, apple, and chocolate.

On the Rise bakery is the most incredible bakery in the state of Massachusetts! Her heavenly creations are as appealing to look at as they are to eat. From muffins, to cookies, scones, cakes, pies, tortes, and any other sweet treat you can imagine. Her chocolate mousse cake is out of this world! She made my wedding cake, and over a year later I still get compliments on it. The owner is the nicest person you will ever meet! She is as sweet as her baked goods. She cared about my wedding, and every little detail as much as I did. She went above and beyond to ensure that my cake was perfect.

Cupcake lane Bakery. This is the best bakery my family has ever been to! We refuse to buy from anywhere else! They do all our cakes including my wedding cake which was to die for and gorgeous! The best thing is customer service, right after the cupcakes, they are so good it is hard to not eat them all before you get home! You will not find a better bakery anywhere. There may be a long line, but it is well worth it! Everyone who lives in the area knows that they have the best cupcakes! They have a great reputation in the community, and I know from personal experience. We order from them for birthdays and everything is wonderful every time...We have even requested information on franchising.

Sweet Chicks Pastry Shoppe is not in the mall, and their items are not available in local grocery stores. Instead, you have to go downtown to Main Street in Rochester to sample their wares -- good thing Sweet Chicks makes it worth your while.

I will say, it's not the absolute cheapest place I've ever been, but the prices are reasonable. For instance, the scones are priced at $2.25 (cheaper than Starbuck's). Plus, the scones at Sweet Chicks are easily 5 inches across -- I sliced two and served five people at breakfast.

I have yet to be disappointed with their lunch choices. They make a variety of fresh sandwiches daily on delicious handmade bread. The bread alone is worth the sandwich. Also, they change their salad and soup offerings daily as well.

If you go for lunch, save room for dessert (or take it home) -- my personal favorite is a chunky white chocolate and cranberry cookie that is exactly the right midafternoon dinner spoiler that I need at work.

I have turned into a Bakesale Betty's regular. On a typical Saturday afternoon around 1 o'clock I join the LONG line of people standing around the block patiently waiting to order a fried chicken sandwich (a delectable combination of two large fried chicken breasts smothered in a unique, slightly spicy, mayo-less slaw crammed into a fresh warm roll). The price is a little expensive for the budget conscious at $7.75, but I've never gone hungry. The line proves this a value worth waiting for. With the wait, which tends to move miraculously fast, come FREE samples. Often times with the wait there is one member of the kitchen walking down the line with a tray of Bakesale Betty's trademark ginger molasses cookies, I swear they are too die for.
The service is always quick, they do take cards and cash, but no checks. They offer a variety of cookies and scones, the availability varies by day. Pies are usually condensed to what is in season and chicken pot pies all year round. There is also an...

Tiff's Treats was started in 1999 by a couple of University of Texas students, who came up with the brilliant idea of a cookie delivery service. With a built-in audience at UT, they provided an alternative to the same old pizza, catering to both the students who needed something to dunk in their coffee as they studied, and the stoners who praised Jah that they'd finally found a cure for their munchies.

Originally, the students ran the business in the evening while attending classes during the day. Tiff's Treats went full time in June 2001 to serve office workers and Austin residents, as well the aforementioned core clientele.

Tiff's delivers to the downtown Austin area, from 1st to 29th between I-35 & MOPAC and from 29th to 51st between I-35 & Lamar. If you live outside of the delivery area, like me, simply call ahead, and your cookies will be baked to order and ready for pick-up in about an hour's time.

not only do i have one sweet tooth, but i have a mouth full of them. i must have some sort of sweets daily. so, in the evening on the day that's all about 'love', we drove in traffic to b.h. to pick up some cupcakes from sprinkles. luckily it wasn't a challenge for us to find parking across the street. we walked towards the store and saw about 40+ people standing in line outside. all those people waited in line for cupcakes!! because i pre-ordered the cupcakes, we had the advantage of heading straight to the counter to pick them up. we walked past the line of people like we were v.i.p., but before we opened the door and headed in, i asked the first few people if any of them had pre-ordered because i didn't want them yelling at me for cutting in line. none of them did, so we went in to claim our dozen yummy cuppycakes (2 black & white, 2 carrot, 2 coconut, 6 red velvet).

the cupcakes are good and a must-try if you are in the area, like cupcakes and haven't tried them already.......

This bakery is just the best for me. Their breads are freshly baked and their pastries really taste good. They also have a great varieties to choose from. My favorites are cheese rolls, guava rolls and the triple chocolate cake. The pastries are not so sweet and they are priced rightly. I have not tried their cakes yet. I am from San Francisco but everytime we go to L.A. we doesn't miss buying at Porto's bakery.

Sweet Loralee's has wonderful, delicious, tasty, yummy, all around great tasting cakes, pastries, and other things. It is in the Factory Shops in Wake Forest. To be honest, I know they have lunches but I have never had them. But the places desserts make me drool just thinking about them. The presentation of the cakes would allow them to be used in the most formal and fancy places.

This is one dangerous place to live close to - LOL!

Their selection of cookies is fabulous especially the kolachkis and frangiapans. I have recently tried the almond croissants and they are to die for.

If you are a torte person, they have a ton of them for around $2.50 each so, you could get a few to share. My friend's birthday was Sun and I got her 4 to try. She thought... the black forest torte and the dark chocolate torte were her favorites. The chocolate chip torte was third and the raspberry whipped cream came in a close 4th.

My favorite thing is the Strawberry Napoleon - can't beat it for under $4!

Their whole cakes seem a bit pricey but, if you order groceries from Peapod they have a few House of Fine Chocolates cakes at a much better price and just as yummy!

The only reason I gave four stars is that they only accept cash... yes there are cash station machines abounding in the area but, for me to impulse shop well they better take credit cards - LOL!

Gayle's Bakery is simply the best! Once we selected our wedding location in the Santa Cruz Mountains, friends told us we had to go to Gayle's for our wedding cake. They were married in San Francisco and had almost given up on finding a quality wedding cake, until they were referred to Gayle's.

On our first visit to Gayle's we had lunch and made our appointment with the wedding cake consultant. The place was packed and the lunch was fantastic. From then on, each time we visited the area, we stopped by Gayle's for something, anything.

Working with Irene at Gayle's was a delight. At our first appointment, she had several samples of cakes, icings, and fillings for us to try. We spent the afternoon tasting and enjoying every bite. There was no doubt that Gayle's would make our cake. Once we were booked, they created two more samples for us based on what we wanted to see combined.
Every cake was all delicious and we ended up going with the carrot cake - too yummy.
