After moving to Newtown, CT. 7 years ago, I found myself without a decent hairdresser. After following the advice of a friend, I decided to try out Ricci's. When my first hairdresser left, she referred me to senior stylist, Cindy. She has been a great hairdresser/stylist. I've been a loyal customer ever since. She cuts, colors, and styles my hair wonderfully every time. She's friendly and easy to talk to. Appointments are never hard to make. My daughters have started going to their "Top of the Class" salon next door and their stylist, Leah is awesome. My husband gets his hair cut at their men-only barber shop, Hero. As you can tell, we really like Ricci's!

I had never tried Winning Image until my mom started going there and I noticed the quality work they did on her. My mom also raved about how she even likes the personality of the woman that did her hair. One day when I was particulary pissed with my salon I called Winning Image to get an appointment that day and they were able to see me! When I arrived they checked me in, made sure I had something to drink and that I was comfortable. When my new stylist was ready, she came to get me and introduced herself as Tera. She said she was chosen to do my hair since I had made the point that I wanted something that was work appropriate but I was a little on the edgy side (Im 25). When I explained to Tera what I wanted, she made sure to repeat it to me several time and brought examples so that I knew she understood what I was looking for. These people need to educate themselves more on what organic is. I don't think they really know.
They were also unprofessional and rude or should I say flat out mean. I would rather just go to a real salon and pay the same or a few more dollars and have the people treat me kinder or even hair cuttery which often has more class.
The hair was ok.
Hopefully they will improve so they don't send everyone home crying later.

I hate to write this here but its the truth. If they rebudle and perhaps consider

treating their customers nicer I will remove this review.

I discovered Accentrixs Salon a few years ago. I find their staff to be professional and the prices reasonable. You can get everything done in one location.

They offer waxing, massage, facials, hair, nails, teeth whitening and more. The salon is not your standard chain salon with the white floor tile and bright lights. It is very pleasantly decorated and gives a warm welcoming feeling.

The professional staff make you feel like part of their family and since this is an independently owned salon, the owner is also a stylist and available should you have a question or concern. Also, the stylist you have on your visit will be there on your next visit since there is low turnover.

This salon is a Paul Mitchell focused salon and the stylists there undergo special training to learn about the Paul Mitchell products and how to apply them. If you like the Paul Mitchell styling tools they use, they are available to purchase as well.

Well, I had a really good hair stylist in Huxley, IA. She selfishly fell in love and moved away from me. I hate finding a new stylist. So, I let my hair and my color grow out all summer. When I got sick of the ponytail option, I decided to try out the Aveda Institute in W Des Moines. I usually wouldn't try out student hair stylists, it's a pretty big risk. Since it's Aveda, and I do love their salons, I gave it a shot. I usually get full foil highlights and it gets cut pretty short. Cuts can grow out, but I was a little nervous about the color. I did it anyway.

The atmosphere in the Aveda Institute Des Moines is relaxing and has the familiar spa-feel that all of the other Aveda's do. My stylist greeted me and was friendly. She told me about how the process works: she completes the visit step-by-step, and her instructors oversee and sign off on each step of the process before she continues.

I go to this Hair Cuttery to get a trim every few months or so. They're normally fairly fast and polite. The wait is usually not long at all unless it's during the holiday season. They have great prices but sometimes they cut it a little longer than I want them to. They normally do ask me if I want layers in my hair, which I appreciate. They also like to engage in casual conversation while cutting which makes the experience more personal. Sometimes they will suggest certain products to me which I don't have money for but that's business for you.

Glad GREAT CLIPS came to Bluffton. More of the snobs I know should try this place. When I moved to Bluffton a few years ago, one of the first things I wanted to do was find a good place to give a perm and cut hair. It has been a horrible 7 year search!! I have spent tons of money, been treated like dirt, had to hide in the house, and even tried giving myself a perm. The salons here are outrageous in price, which I would not mind paying if the outcome was satisfactory. I always tell them about my hair--fine, hard to curl and fly-away. Every so called stylist I have been to is on an ego trip to let me know that they know better than I do what my hair needs. Mind you I have a Masters Degree and am being treated like I belong in a Special Ed. class by a person who might have dropped out of HS. Salon Hype is a home away from home for me. I have been going there since they opened and they understand what i need. I can walk into the salon without having any idea of what i want to do with my hair and Ross will have a briliant idea! I walk out loving my hair each and everytime. I am a regular of Ross's but when i need something last minute and he is unavalible he will make it a point to come by and make sure my hair is how i like it.

At salon hype they truely work their hardest to make sure that the customers are happy. i have gone to almost every salon in the chicagoland area and Salon Hype has managed to perfect the salon experience.

This modern looking beauty school is tucked away behind a row of businesses along McHenry Avenue, and it is definitely worth checking out. A haircut there only costs about $13, which is around the same price as a Supercuts cut, but the service here is much more personal. Prepare to spend an hour or two here as the haircuts are done by students in the beauty school, but they all do wonderful jobs. They are learning the trade and are therefore focused on doing the best they can (under supervision by their "teachers" during the process), so you will get a much better result than if you went to a chain haircutting place and got a halfway decent cut. The girls are friendly, and are always concerned about how you want your hair to look, not to mention having a good eye for style as well. When I need a haircut in the future, you can bet that the Paul Mitchell School is where I'll be going.

La Femmena Hair Salon in Hyannis, MA has been in business since the 70's. The stylists there are phenomenal. My hair always comes out looking great. And I can be very picky. Especially when it comes to my hair color. I get foils and I like them to look natural. I don't like big chunky foils and I don't want to have roots when I leave the salon. I get so many compliments on my hair color all the time. Most people think it is my natural color. And my hair is on the longish side and I don't have to worry about it getting chopped every time I go in there. I see Jen and she is not a scissor happy hairdresser. I just moved down to San Diego county. Everyone has their favorite stylist but I was in a rush. I had been doing my own cut and colors at home. Not a great job but okay. However, we were having a family reunion and I decided at the last minute that I need my hair to look great. I called up JC Penney and got an appt that same day. They booked me with whoever was available and it ended up being Tammy. Holy cow, she did an amazing job. Her highlights and cut were amazing. I have very curly hair and a lot of it and she gave me a cut that worked perfect. She didn't cut it too short. She listened to what I said. Then she gave me one of the best blow outs I have ever had. I asked her to straighten it for me since I usually don't do it because it is so much work. I kept my eyes closed until she was done and I almost cried when I saw the finished product. It looked amazing. I was swinging my hair around all day. My husband loved the way it felt. He has told me many times to go ahead and pamper myself...

She keeps up with all the latest styles and she can please the most discriminating of clients. I'd always wanted to dye my hair but had never summoned the courage to do so. I have naturally red hair and was afraid I'd never get back to my natural color if I dyed it. A few months ago, however, I decided it was time to go a shade darker. (I'll never give up the red!)

I did not want to dye my hair out of the box. I'd tried highlighting my hair out of the box and although it turned out just fine, I did not trust a box to tint my hair the perfect shade of red that I was looking for. Salon services were too far out of my budget, so I decided to try the Aveda Institute in Chicago.

This place is awesome! I cannot believe people pay to go to a professional when they can get the same service for half the cost at the Aveda Institute.

It was easy for me to make an appointment. I showed up at 8:30am and only waited a few minutes for my student (stylist) to call my name. I received complimentary green tea while I waited, which was a great way to start my morning.

The stylists are great and they do a great job. After my color and cut they always blow dry and do a quick styling...not just a half-dry like some other places do.

The stylists are personable and are modern/trendy. They never try to talk me into doing anything that I dont want done to my hair and they always offer great suggestions when I'm tired of my old look. I always feel like Im a priority when I go in and the environment of the salon is very upscale and relaxing.

Great Clips is a great place to have your hair cut if you're on the run or looking for a deal. For young children, it is sometimes not the best place to go. I have yet to find a worker there who is patient with a preschooler. So, while I love to run by on my lunch break to have my hair done, I do not recommend them for young children. There are very few toys or activities for children. If they are not too crowded, you can sometimes get in and out quickly with your child, but if there is a line, you may as well go elsewhere. For convenience, it is close to my job and an excellent choice for me.

When I moved to the area, I wanted a quality salon like the one I had back in Boston, but didn't want to have to pay the price (formerly paying approx $250 for blonde highlights, cut, style). I recommend Katie because she really listens to what's important with your hair -- lookign natural, easy to fix, being edgy, etc. She goes the extra mile to make you feel comfortable at the salon and happy with your final product. I've walked out each and every time feeling 100% satisfied with my hair -- and I'm VERY particular. Not to mention it's only $130 for cut/color/style!!
