After moving to Newtown, CT. 7 years ago, I found myself without a decent hairdresser. After following the advice of a friend, I decided to try out Ricci's. When my first hairdresser left, she referred me to senior stylist, Cindy. She has been a great hairdresser/stylist. I've been a loyal customer ever since. She cuts, colors, and styles my hair wonderfully every time. She's friendly and easy to talk to. Appointments are never hard to make. My daughters have started going to their "Top of the Class" salon next door and their stylist, Leah is awesome. My husband gets his hair cut at their men-only barber shop, Hero. As you can tell, we really like Ricci's!
...

yeato1 says "Trying something new" about Medi Weight Loss Center - Lutz, FL

Hey everyone,

The new year is approaching and i want to start fresh by breaking old eating habits. I exercise daily for about 1-2 hours at the gym. However, i am a lover of junk food. You know cakes, cookies,ice-cream... I am not a big eater but i love my sweets. As a result, have been gaining weight. Being an African American woman i carry allot of my weight in the hip n butt area. People say i don't look fat but i am starting to see more and more rolls daily. I learned about medi weight loss clinic from a forum, did my research and decided to try it.

I just got back from my initial (12-21-09) visit from medi weight loss clinic in Jupiter, Fl. Thus far it seems promising. I would like to loose 42lbs to reach my goal of 120lbs. Intial weight 162lbs at 5'.3" Oh yeah that B-6 shot burns then your arm feels heavy but only for a brief moment. Loosing weight to me is well worth the pain/financial cost.

Your encouragement is highly needed as i change my bad eating habits into good ones....
...

larkin94 says "The staff is very rude and lazy!!!" about Loretto Cunningham/Fahey Nursing Home - Syracuse, NY

My mother is @ Fahey on 2nd floor. Most of the nurses their suck!! They are very rude and uncaring...one in particular.. (ryhmes with Icky.) My mother is bed ridden and they treat her very disrespectfully. They call her names and dont want to bother with her. Now dont get me wrong, there are a few nurses who are great but the horrible ones somehow overshadow anything good. I wish i could move her out of there because i would in a heartbeat. Why should the last years of our loved ones lifes be spent with disrespectful b*tches treating them like dirt????? THe nursing homes make plenty of money off our loved ones in order to hire skilled caring people but they'd rather hire low cost scum to work there. I for one am tired of the bullsh*t at this home and plan to raise holy hell to get something done about it. I also plan to have certain lazy @$$ nurses/aides fired and standing in the unemployment line where they belong.
...

CrazyMelissa47 says "I had nothing but bad luck with this gym. Never again. " about Gold's Gym

In February of 2009 I was going to sign up for the YMCA in my area. It was open house week and you receive a week guest past for touring their facility and an opportunity to win a free membership for a year. And the Y I use to work for gave me a huge attitude and pretty much told me I wasn't allowed back on their property till I got a membership and that I was eligible for the week past and or the chance to win because I was formally employed by them. Well that sort of behavior and attitude really ticked me off so I said okay you don't want my business I will go to your rival Gold's Gym. Now in the first three weeks at the Gold's I signed up at was great unlimited tanning not to crowed only 29/month. No one can complained I even talked my best friend into joining with me. She got the same deal as I did. Than in March around the 15th I only remember because it was my grand mom's 70th birthday. The Limerick Gold suddenly closed up no warning nothing. The next closes one to me was in oaks...
...

jennerin24 says "Love my laser hair removal at Allure Medspa" about Allure Medspa - Rita - Stafford, VA

I was searching for a spa to do laser hair removal and found Allure Medspa. When you walk in the door, if you see Rita, tell her Jenn says hi! Rita is so friendly and is attentive to answering any questions you have or getting you settled for your appointment. She always has a smile on her face and if she is not in the front and hears you coming she will swing out of her office just to say hi to you.

The laser hair treatment was much less painful then when I had it done elsewhere years ago. The laser they used for my lip, under arms and bikini was not loud, it only stung a little, and got a little warm. Most of the nurses they have doing the procedure were very detailed, making sure they got the max amount of area covered and that they did plenty of passes. The one nurse who didn't do things satisfactory quickly took care of me when I let her know what the other nurses did. They made sure I had a cold cloth after each body part was lasered to take the warmth away and they were patient...
...

I had never tried Winning Image until my mom started going there and I noticed the quality work they did on her. My mom also raved about how she even likes the personality of the woman that did her hair. One day when I was particulary pissed with my salon I called Winning Image to get an appointment that day and they were able to see me! When I arrived they checked me in, made sure I had something to drink and that I was comfortable. When my new stylist was ready, she came to get me and introduced herself as Tera. She said she was chosen to do my hair since I had made the point that I wanted something that was work appropriate but I was a little on the edgy side (Im 25). When I explained to Tera what I wanted, she made sure to repeat it to me several time and brought examples so that I knew she understood what I was looking for. Tera has a great personality and is always a pleasure to see. She understand that I hate to have my long hair cut and she always reassures me that she is only...
...

I was completely appalled when I read what that woman from Berwyn wrote about the owner of VIP Nails. While I would say he is completely insane, it is because he is so vibrant and happy and full of fun and laughter and goodness. Michael and his wife Cindy are one of my favorite couples ever. They are consistently kind to each other and their staff and know every customer by name. I have been going to this salon for a year and a half and it is full of regulars. My manicures and pedicures are impeccable. I get compliments all the time. The salon is clean and well managed. I have never received anything less than VIP treatment here. This woman should stay in Berwyn and realize you wear yoga pants or sweats to get a pedicure, not your Sunday best! I am offended that she would malign the reputation of these fine, hard working people because she lacks the intelligence to dress appropriately for her pedicure appointment. Ridiculous.
...

These people need to educate themselves more on what organic is. I don't think they really know.
They were also unprofessional and rude or should I say flat out mean. I would rather just go to a real salon and pay the same or a few more dollars and have the people treat me kinder or even hair cuttery which often has more class.
The hair was ok.
Hopefully they will improve so they don't send everyone home crying later.

I joined this gym about a year ago after outgrowing the equipment in my home. I keep things fairly simple - treadmill and free weights- and the Gold's gym offered both. When I first started the gym offered complimentary towel service. That was gone by the summer. Now I just bring my own, so that was not a big deal.

In general, I've been pleased with this place. It is fairly clean and well-maintained - at least given my limited routine. As noted, I run on treadmills and I can always get one even at peak times. Benches for weights are another story. There are two areas one for what I will call normal people and another set of benches near the rear. These are the ones line by a mirrored walls to appease the vain meat-heads - the ones who have to drop their weights to illustrate their machismo to the rest of the patrons. More on them later.

The staff, while not exactly the most responsive, is at least friendly. Most of the folks working here are typical of what I have seen in a gyms - young...
...

I fax this paper, I said I would see if I would be able to come back to work out after my daughter birthday. Well, 1 month later, I was very busy Mon, I decided to cancel. Well, again I was put on hold, send paper work saying I need to cancel my membership. After 20 days I got charged in my account, my account was active.

We have been going here for the last 3 months, and i can say that I wish the classes were 2 times a week. After the 4 sports my child participates in, this is definitely one of her favorites. The first 20 minutes are so are really fun warm up activities from running, hide and seek, bouncing or dancing around. The rest of the class is spent on the 3 different stations set up for gymanstics. The class is split into 3 groups and one teacher leads each station. So, probably 10 minutes are spent at each station. I am not saying that it is unorganized, but they kind of let the kids particiapte or not. It is a real free spirit kind of attitude. Luckily my kid follows instructions and cares about being there. But it can be distracting when some of the other kids don't do as they are told. This is all about fun, and they do acheive milestones in this class working on the equipment. My child has improved in several areas. They teach in a fun way, and they have themes like pj week, bring a friend,...
...

Massage Envy is a growing national franchise with new spots popping up all over the place. Even in the recession, the spa business is booming. The company gets you in the habit with discounts to members, who pay a monthly fee of $59, automatically deducted from a credit card. It's good for one massage a month at anyh location in the country -- a boon when traveling. Subsequent massages cost only $49 a month. They also expect a tip of about $20/hour.

You can usually get an appointment any day you want one. If they're booked up, you can try one of the other places in the metro area, such as Bethesda. They offer deep tissue or Swedish massage. They employ a variety of therapists; some specialize in one or the other. You can request a specific therapist or take whoever's available. I find that each therapist employs different methods so you can get a variety of treatments. Or if you prefer, you can get to know one or two who will know your ins and outs.

Time 2 Relax Day Spa is a little spa located in a strip mall adjacent to the Norco Lions Club on 6th Street. While the exterior is rustic - common for Norco and its horse community - the interior is tranquil and quaint, effectively placing you in a relaxing atmosphere. It is a small spa, with services in massage therapy, facials, foot detox, and waxing, and great prices. For example, a one hour massage is only $45, and there is no extra charge for specialty massages such as hot stone therapy or deep tissue.

My girlfriend visited recently for their special - an hour European facial and an hour massage for $80 - and enjoyed her stay. Because it is a small place, not all the partitions / walls are completely from floor to ceiling; and while this is not bothersome, her only complaint was the air conditioning as it's centralized for the entire spa and not room-specific or room-adjustable (and the beds are not heated so it can't compensate for it). It would be easily rectified with...
...

At Fitness 19, there is a large variety of equipment to choose from; from free standing weights to machines. The machines are not the greatest and the latest technology. They lack having tvs in each individual machine; but they do have tvs mounted on the wall. The cost is very economical and they have several packages to choose from. Watch your mailbox for flyers offering discounts. They also offer discounts to county employees. This is just the basic gym without the frills. This is great if you just want the basics and dont want to pay for the extras that you would not be taking advantage of. There are no basketball courts, no aerobic classes; no spin classes, no pool, etc.. They do have a dressing room, although there are no showers. Personal trainers are availabel for an extra fee. They are conviently located and the hours are ok. It has a pleasant atmosphere and the employees are friendly. The music is not very energizing, so one would be wise...
...

High Pressure Sales.

That sums up this location.

I went on a visit to this location on the same day I visited Balley's in West Seneca/Orchard Park region.

I walked in and said I wanted to check out the facilities. I was met with open arms by someone who showed me around.

After the tour I was taken into the office and coerced into signing up for a year membership when all I wanted was 3 months.
