flubber says "Just the right tool for the job" about Hatachi nail gun

I am a contractor with over 10 years of experience using nail guns. I started out with the Bostitch gun because it was what my brother thought was the best gun out there. He was a roofer before me, so I believed him. Then, two years down the road I started using the Hitatchi nailer and found it to be better. It was lighter weight and had a softer punch to it. It made it easier to use .

Due to my hand problems, the other gun I was using bothered my hands. It was heavy and boithered the tendenitis in my wrst and the carpel tunnel I was slowly getting at the time.. When I switched to the Hitatchi gun, I saw a slight improvement in my tendinitis and carpel tunnel. Now, the two problems did not go away, I wound up getting surgery for the carpel tunnel, but it lessened the pain and problems I had with it while I was using the other gun. I was so thankful for finding the Hitatchi nailer. It allowed me to continue in the roofing industry.

The gun is also very durable. I am very hard on tools and...
...

RudiXeno says "PowerShot Forward Action Heavy-Duty Stapler: Easier on your hand" about PowerShot Forward Action Heavy-Duty Stapler

One of the most useful tools for any homeowner to have is a heavy duty stapler. Chances are you can find one in your garage or basement. For many years, Arrow Brand has led the market in this type of tool. Big and chrome plated, I have a couple hanging on the wall.

My only complaint about the Arrow model is that it's awfully tough on your hands after a couple hours of use. Following an accident a few years ago in which I hurt my hand I knew I needed an alternative.

On a trip to The Home Depot I found what I was looking for in the PowerShot Forward Action Heavy-Duty Stapler. It featured an updated design that promised to be less fatiguing. The trigger mechanism was forward-action rather than the usual rear-action mechanism utilized in the standard Arrow design.

This design is considerably easier on your hands since you have the weight of your body to help firing a staple. If you look at the product photo, this advantage is immediately obvious.

RudiXeno says "Husky Extension Ladder Bumpers: Protects your walls and siding" about Husky Extension Ladder Bumpers

Most homeowners that do any of their own work around the house probably own an extension ladder. When you need to get up high they are indispensible.

But, while it's hard imagining doing without an extension ladder, they all seem to suffer from one common drawback. They can damage your walls or siding.

When using an extension ladder, its base is generally placed a few feet from the wall and the ladder is allowed to lean against the wall. that of course means that as you climb the wall, all the weight is beared by the base, and the top of the ladder resting on the wall. Although most ladders have plastic end pieces, they are usually a hard plastic and not very protective. One very practical solution to this problem is the use of removable bumpers that fit over the top ends of your extension ladder. For years I've used Husky Extension Ladder Bumpers.

Husky Extension Ladder Bumpers

These bumpers are simply thick, durable plastic covers that slip over the top end edges of your...
...

So I use this product a whole lot and it is very dependable. And you can carry it everywhere you go along with the charger!

I do most of my house repairs on my own and I like to always get the products that will help me and be easier on my hand. At firt I had to keep barrowing tools from freinds to do the the things I did to do around the house. So I got tired of it and I invested in the Craftsman C3 19.2-volt 17 pc. Ultimate Combo Kit.

this saw is this best equipment i have ever bought from any place. i would highly recomend it to anyone who cuts tree or goes out logging.i have tried other brands such as polan, homolite. husqvarna. my polan did not have enough power and i replaced just about every part on it.the homalite was ok but it lasted me for four months of straight labor and it started rattlin and bogging out and i replaced the carburatorit still went out. the husqvarna i thought it was supposed to be a good brand but boy were they wrong i had more trouble out of it than any.every time i turn around somethin was wrong i payed more money it than what it was worththe parts are way to expensive.out of all the crftsman is the best is has power. better over all. i would recomend every one to but one. its the same price as all the rest but at least you can get them fixed at reasonable price. so if you are looking to buy a chainsaw purchase the craftsman chainsaw.
...

I bought a Stihl MS 230 chain saw to clean up the mess that 3 straight hurricanes left outside my home in Daytona Beach, Florida. This happened back in 2004 when Hurricane Charly came zipping up the west coast of Florida as a category 5 storm. The forecast was that the storm would continue north from outside of Naples, Florida and they were not sure when the storm would make its northeast turn. I live on the Atlantic Ocean part of the state 70 miles south of Jacksonville and the storm did not scare me at the time because it was outside the most southern part of Florida in the Gulf of Mexico. Even though it was a CAT 5 storm, the prediction was the storm wouldn't make its turn until it was near Tampa And Daytona would miss most of the action. However, the unexpected happened and the storm made a sudden and sharp turn inland at Port Charlotte, Florida which is well south of Tampa. It came ashore at around 145 mph and destroyed everything in its path. It was a very fast moving storm and moved...
...

I'm a home owner and do it yourselfer.I've used all types of power tools to do repairs around the house as well as large remodling jobs and I found the Dremel MotoTool to be one of the most useful power tools I own. It's various attachments allows me to sand ,cut and drill just about any material your likely to find around the home and do it all with one tool. Keep in mind that it's a small tool ment for light repairs and for that it's exellent but if the job your doing requires alot of heavy sanding, cutting or drilling you'd be better off getting a tool specificly for that job but for the average home repair do it yourselfer the Dremel MotoTool can't be beat. For example, I needed to replace my storm door and rather than drag a bunch of power tools out of the garage I just grabbed my Dremel kit and went to work. First I used a cutting bit to enlarg the hinge spaces then switched bits to re drill the screw holes. After hanging the door I saw that the locking bolt woulden't quite fit in...
...

I would definitely recommend this brand and type if you just need a simple drill to do a easy home job. Also, before purchasing this product I would definitely recommend that you are brief of the type of job that the product will be used for, whether it is for home use or industrial purposes. This is important because for industrial purposes I would recommend a more powerful equipment that have the horse power and capabilities to run for a substantial length of time with heavy work loads.

WD40 is the most wonderful product to have in your house. I had used WD40 for the lubricating door and cabinet hinges, but never dreamed of the other uses. Prepare to be amazed if you have not utilized WD40 for other tasks.

Quite by accident I discovered that ants do not like WD40. I have used it to spray the travel line and they don't use that route for a very long time. I don't know whether it's the smell or the feel of the surface. It works and that's all that counts.

WD40 is also good for removing stickers. That is one of those annoying things about purchasing plastic with those labels that refuse to be removed. This is wonderful.

I am certain that I will find other uses as time passes. I highly recommend WD40.
...

The Poulan Woodshark chainsaw I purchased is a versitile light weight saw. I especially like it because it is a fast cutting powerful saw. It literally eats wood, and is cormfotable to use,the engineering is wonderful. It is very well made and fits the hand very nicely, making it comfortable to operate. The Poulan woodshark chainsaw is easy to dismantle for cleaning, and has instructions on the chainsaw itself to inform a person which way the teeth on the chain are supposed to be pointed. The Poulan Woodshark chainsaw is up to about any job the homeowner might put it to as far as wood cutting and trimming limbs goes.I am absolutely crazy about this saw. It really helped me out when we had a severe ice storm last winter which felled a lot of trees in our front and back yards. I used this saw to clean up the debris, and I later sold the wood to some of our neighbors that really appreciated the extra wood for thier fireplaces. Thanks to that saw I could get on with my life.
...

I have found that having a step stool around the house is a necessity. It's useful not only for maintenance jobs, but everyday chores. Shortly after I bought my home I found the Rubbermaid Step Stool and have used it numerous times.

The Rubbermaid Step Stool measures 12 inches in height. The step is 15 inches across and has a rubberized texture that makes it less likely your slip off. It's made of a tough plastic material that can handle weight up to 300 pounds. The base is nice and wide, measuring 19 inches across. The base also has some rubbery little grippers on the bottom that prevent it from sliding around.

I have found this step stool to be much more convenient than lugging around a ladder. It's lightweight and can easily be stored in a closet. Mine is gray in color (if that matters) with a black rubberized mat on top. One drawback is that the mat on the step starts to show some wear and footprints if your shoes are dirty. But it can easily be washed off.

The Black & Decker 5.2 AMP 3/8 in. (10 mm) VSR Drill/Driver is powerful and compact. We were looking for a drill that was corded. No need for the battery to die on you or wait for one to charge. This drill handles tough tasks in tight spaces. Has variable speed/reversing for controlled drilling and driving.

This model is a keyless chuck for quick and easy bit changes. Mid-handle design offers balance and comfort. Which to me is important when doing a job, and wanting to get it done right. Soft grip handle feels good in your hand (and mine), which is added for comfort. Also has on board bit storage for quick access to screwdriving bits.

Another reason why I like them is because you don't have to worry about dragging a cord behind you and they also have the longest lasting battery life that I have seen. The Dewalt drills will also out last any other cordless drill. They don't take a long time to charge unlike any other brands out there. They are sturdy and durable, like if you drop one it will more than likely keep on going and never stop. Also they are more handier than the electric drills like when you get up on a ldder a you need a drill right then and there, you know that you will always have one right there when yu need it even when it is on its charger. Unlike the electric drills they don't have the tendency to have a break in the cord or likely to short out ig some thing happens to a cord. Well believe that's all I've got to say about the DeWalt drill other than that they are the best kind of drill to have...
...

jkelshaw says "Super cool, easy to use tool!!" about Black & Decker Mouse Sander & Polisher

This thing is so easy to use. I think that a lot of women get scared off by tools, but you dont have to be scared of this one. I have used it for several different sizes of projects.

The best feature of the sander itself is the two different sized ends that you can use. You simply remove a little screw and you can either have an "iron shaped" sanding area or you can put the end piece up higher and you have a smaller end that can get into smaller, tighter places.

It comes with a handy bag and also came with a full set of sand paper in different sizes. I priced out the other brands of sand paper and found that I could buy and use the Skil brand paper (made for sanders) on it as well. That was a good thing, that pack of paper has more in it for less money.

It is "hand" friendly with indents on each side so that you can handle it easily. My hand has not ever cramped up while using it.

I paid $42.00 for the sander, and right around $6.00 for the Skil brand pack of extra sandpaper...
...

RudiXeno says "Ryobi 3/8ths inch Corded Drill: Enough for most homeowners" about Ryobi Variable Peed 3/8ths inch Drill

Unless you do none of your own work at home, one of the most valuable tools you can own is a power drill.

A trip to either The Home Depot or Lowe's might convince you that unless you have the latest, greatest lithium powered portable drill you are seriously challenged. I say no.

Now if you're among those of us who seem always to have a next project on the board you probably can benefit from the latest cordless drill. But for the overwhelming majority of homeowners and apartment dwellers, your needs can be more easily addressed with a simple, inexpensive corded drill.

Ryobi 3/8ths inch Corded Drill

The Ryobi 3/8ths inch Corded Drillis a basic yet totally serviceable alternative to the cordless drill for most homeowners. For most projects around the home, other than drill bits, you might need an extension cord. It has a key-less chuck so you won't even have to search for a missing chuck key.

Ask Yourself

How often are you really going to need to use this tool. If not on a frequent...
...

billyboy88 says "DeWalt makes a GREAT product" about DeWalt Cordless Drill 18 Volt P201

Awesom Drill

DeWalt is great stuff.

The best cordless power drills have a gear train with two speeds and a magnetic tip to hold the screw, which helps it to deliver not only a continuous adjustment of speed but also the highest speed when depressed fully. If need to get the job done with speed and accuracy using the best cordless power drills are your top choice

If you're about to embark on home improvement project to replace carpeting, wall paper your home, or any other home improvement project requiring power tools then the Roybi (p201) drill screwdriver is a best buy for your occasional at home use. The P201 is a solid performer and is guaranteed to become your power tool of choice.

For moderate to heavy duty use, Dewalt or Makita drill screwdrivers are the best way to go. My personal experience working with them in the construction industry is that they have both proven to be durable and provide a longer tool life. Dewalt has shown to be better in that it has a compact...

...

amaralt says "break and return it for a new one" about Craftsman Wrenches

A must have for my job. I've always heard good things about Craftsman and I agree having owned my wrenches for 5+ years now. I broke one on the job and it was such a simple replace at Sears for a new one. You really can't beat that especially if you depend on your tools to feed your family and make a wage. Easy to clean up, and work especially great when in conjunction with other Craftsman tools. I carry them with me everyday to the various job sites and haven't been disappointed yet.

Very reasonably priced for what they are.
...

soccerstaralways says "This drill is worth every penny I paid... hands down!" about Ridgid RIDGID 18V Lithium-Ion Compact Drill Driver

I use this drill all the time for work as a Electrical Tech, this drill travels easy because of its compact size, but don't let the size fool you, it is pretty powerful and does a great job. I travel all over the United States and Canada with this drill and it fits in my portable tool case with ease. My other drill I have is too bulky to travel with. Rigid tools seem to be built tough and good quality. You woun't be disappointed."

My friend is a professional home builder, who allowed me to use his quote: "I bought this drill and while back and have loved it. I build custom homes full time and do remodels also. I haven't thrown anything at this drill that it couldn't handle. Whether it's drilling through 2x joist material or doing more delicate work, this drill is up for it with no hesitations. Take it from a professional. This drill is worth getting. And you can't beat the lifetime service agreement."
