Keri65 says "Hefty EZ Ovenware is a big disappointment!!" about Hefty EZ Ovenware

Whenever I need to take brownies or a cake to either an office party or a family function, I normally get the disposable foil pans to make the dessert in.

I didn't have any foil pans for an office party this past week, so I stopped on my way home to pick up some foil pans. The store I went to didn't have the foil pans, but they had the Hefty EZ Ovenware instead. This was the first time I had used this product and also the last.

I made the brownies before getting ready for work. While I was getting ready, I noticed a smell coming from the kitchen. The smell was kind of like wax melting. The pans have a wax like coating as a reinforcement.

You can't put them directly on the oven rack (they will start to burn), use a cookie sheet under the pans. You aren't supposed to have more than 1 in the oven at a time. The lids don't fit on the pans at all. They are not sturdy to transport. I had put the pans on the backseat of the car in a box. The lids popped off when I turned a...
...

I thought the Debbie Meyer's green bags worked quite well. I have used them for brocolli and strawberries mostly. Both have stayed good quite longer than when I don't use the bags. Some of the strawberries that I put in the bag are still good after about two weeks. I have yet to use them for bananas. I did read the instructions and dried off my items before putting them in the bag. I do not redry them everyday, but do so occassionally. That is the biggest downside to this item- the frequent drying that is suggested....

SpokaneMan says "Reynolds Wrap Release Non-Stick Aluminum Foil is Great!" about Reynolds Non-Stick Aluminum Foil

A step up from their regular Aluminum Foil, Reynolds is further cornering the market with their Reynolds Wrap Release Non-Stick Aluminum Foil. Normally it is pretty easy to use an aluminum foil, but to have one that will prevent foods from sticking to it, you are really taking it somewhere I have hoped it could go. Think of it... an aluminum foil that any type of food (whether cooked or otherwise) can be placed on, and a guarantee that it won't stick to the surface. It almost seems to good to be true, but I assure you that I am on the level.
The look and feel of the new "Release" may seem a little different, but you use it in the same method that you would have used the aluminum foil before. Reynolds sells the Non-Stick Foil in 35 foot boxes that measure in at 12 inches wide, as well as 45 foot long sections that measure at 18 inches wide. If you are into cooking a lot of items on foil, then you may want to go for the 18 inches, but for me the 12 inch option works the best. There is a difference...
...

When I set up a Crate & Barrel bridal registry this past spring, I added two of these White Rustic Serve Bowls. It is only my husband and I here in the house, but we have our friends and family over at least once a week for barbeques in the summer and Sunday football in the winter. I needed some more large bowls in which to serve chips, salads, potato/pasta/tortellini salads, pasta, etc. These Crate & Barrel bowls fit the bill!

These bowls have a very minimalist and almost modern appearance. The bowls don't have a perfect, smooth, or symmetrical shape which makes it look like they are handmade. (I don't believe that they are, though.) At first glance, this bowl appears to be very small, but it probably has about a 3-3.5 quart capacity. I can use almost the same amount of lettuce and vegetables to make a salad in this bowl as I use in my 4 quart Pyrex mixing bowl. Despite the "uneven" sides of the bowl, the Crate & Barrel White Rustic Serve Bowl fits easily into the dishwasher...
...

As I have mentioned in many of my reviews, I am a complete sucker for any product that supports a cause, especially those benefiting breast cancer awareness and research. I have to admit that I have almost all of KitchenAid's Cook for the Cure products. When I recently saw the "I Cook for my Mom" Apron in a magazine, I had to buy it. Not only because it was benefiting the Susan G. Komen foundation, but because it was a great way to honor my mom.

The "I Cook for my Mom" Apron is made out of 100% cotton, and is pink with white embroidered letters. For every apron purchased (about $20) and registered at their site, KitchenAid will donate $5 to the Susan G. Komen foundation. This year, KitchenAid will make a minimum donation of $1,000,000.

I purchased my "I Cook for my Mom" Apron online from shopkitchenaid.com, but it may also be available in retail stores carrying Cook for the Cure products (I'm not sure). I know that KitchenAid Cook for the Cure products are sold at Macy's,...
...

cmohr80 says "Doesn't keep your produce any fresher than anything else!" about Debbie Meyer Green Bags

Part of being a bargain shopper, is find products that help parishables, as well as other goods, last longer. This is why I'm willing to spend more on items, like Woolite for Darks, that will gently care for my items, so I won't have waste more nor to by certain things as frequently, thus saving money in the long run.

My husband picked up a box of Debbie Meyer Green Bags, hoping they would protect our produce longer.

Product Description:

Debbie Meyer Green Bags are supposed to work by:

Fruits, vegetables and flowers release ethylene gas while ripening after harvesting or picking. Ethylene gas accelerates ripening, aging and rotting. These Green Bags are suppose to absorb and remove this damaging gas, dramatically extending the life of fruits, vegetables and flowers.

They are supposed to save you money by wasting less food, are suppose to be reusable up to 10 times and suppose to keep fruits and vegetables fresher longer. They are also supposed to control humidity and discourage...
...

angel28960 says "Maximize your oven space this holiday season" about Sur La Table Multi-Tier Oven Rack

Around the holidays, I always seem to wish that I had another oven...or a bigger oven...or both. I absolutely hate trying to fit everything in the oven at the same time. Not to mention the fact that the turkey takes up almost all of the oven space, so everything else has to go in either before or after the bird. Well this year, Sur la Table has solved all of my problems. I bought the Multi-Tier Oven Rack a few weeks ago and did a trial run just to make sure it worked. It was wonderful!

The Multi-Tier Oven Rack lets you cook up to three dishes at the same time on its compact structure. Since the rack measures only 15" x 11" x 8 1/4", you can cook your turkey on the other side of the oven at the same time. This rack is very sturdy and can accommodate my heavy glass or ceramic baking dishes without a problem. It even folds flat for easier storage when not in use. One of my dishes splattered all over the middle shelf, and it was really easy to wash off. The Multi-Tier...
...

Hefty ZooPals Funtensils are designed with kids in mind. They are packaged with eight forks, eight spoons, four knives, and four spreaders. The ZooPals utensils are a variety of colors: pink, blue, green, and brown. (I would like to see more colors added in the future.)Twelve different animal designs are in the collection. (I can imagine that they will expand this number over the years.)

I was particularly impressed with how strong these utensils are. They are much sturdier than typical plastic utensils, and I've been known to wash them and re-use them for my kids at home, and I am usually quick to throw away plastic utensils.

My daughters, who are usually all about pink, particularly liked the brown deer while we were camping after a beautiful buck came to visit us at the campground. They also thought it looked a little like Rudolph but without the red nose.

There is a Hefty ZooPals website with extra information about their products and lots of fun kids games.

The downside of the ZooPals...
...

In my household, kitchen cabinet space is at a premium. There always seems to be more items that need storing than there is room to store them. I try to keep my possessions streamlined by finding a place for everything and keeping everything in its place. Still, I was constantly frustrated because the lids to all of my pots and pans kept ending up in disorder. There seemed no good place to keep them until I bought the Door Mount Lid Rack - Vertical from Organize.com.

The lid rack hangs vertically, and can be mounted with a nail to the inside door of your cabinet. However, I didn't put mine on the cabinet door. Instead, using a 3M Medium Command Hook, I mounted it on the inside wall of the cabinet. The Command Hook has a strong adhesive that holds, but unlike nails, won't damage my cabinet. By placing the Lid Rack on the inside wall of the cabinet, I can still store and reach my lids easily and it takes up very little space.

The Lid Rack is made of heavyweight metal with...
...

Katrena says "ZooPals cups with lids made us want to party!" about Hefty ZooPals Cups and Lids

I was leery about sending my husband to the store to pick up party supplies, but I was sick. And I don't even have time to be sick.

I was pleasantly surprised with his choice of Hefty ZooPals cups and lids. These are cute 8 oz. cups that have animal pictures. The lids are plastic with a sip-type spout, and the lids snap onto the cup fairly easily. Any boys at the party definitely preferred not to have a pink pig, but the white and black panda, brown monkeys and orange leopards were cool for everybody. With many girls at the party, the pink pigs were all taken anyway.

We had tried some ZooPals cups that did not have separate lids at a previous party. The cups had "ears" that stuck up and the top would fold down. They were a little awkward but the kids liked them. At this party, my birthday girl bounced up to me and said, "Hey Mom, I like these cups a LOT better than the other ones."

Several adults came up to me and asked where I got the cool cups. I had to inform them that my husband bought...
...

The June 2008 issue of Women's Health introduced me to a lot of handy items. However, my absolute favorite find of the summer is the Envirosax bag. They are reusable, waterproof, and made out of lightweight polyester (weighing 1.4 oz each). I have always hated getting plastic bags (or paper where offered) at the grocery store, Target, or the bookstore. I saw these bags as a way that I could do something small for the environment.

I have these bags stashed in both my car and in my purse. I have used them everywhere I would usually get a plastic bag...Target, Barnes and Noble, the grocery store, Banana Republic, Linens n things, Macy's, etc. Most of the time, the saleslady is surprised that I bring my own bag and pleased that I am trying to do something for the environment.

The dimensions of each Envirosax bag are 19.5" x 16.5" (unrolled) or 4" x 1.5" (rolled). They can carry up to 44 lbs, making them much stronger and bigger than most plastic bags. They are only sold online...
...

angel28960 says "No more hand-washing your wine glasses!" about StemGrip

Whenever we have guests over for dinner, my husband and I end up arguing over whose turn it is to wash the wine glasses at the end of the night. So, when I saw the StemGrip featured in the June 2008 issue of Women's Health, I thought I'd give it a try. I bought one set to start out, but after the first wash, I went back online and bought 3 more!

Here's how you use it...the StemGrip post slides over one of the tines on the top rack of your dishwasher. Then, you clamp each glass stem with one of the included clips, and attach to the post. Each post can support from 1 to 4 glasses. It's as easy as that. I usually don't wash more than 8 glasses at a time, but I have a small dishwasher.

I love the StemGrip because it keeps my wine glasses stable in the dishwasher so I don't have to worry about them falling over and breaking. I also love not having to hand wash (and dry) them anymore.

You can buy them online from stemgrip.com. Each set (1 hollow post and 4 clips) is $14.95. ...
...

A few weeks ago, my daughter an I were on a mission to find some small leak-proof transparent, cup-like containers that she needed for an experiment she was planning for this year's Middle School Science Fair.

We had gone through all of the Gladware we had in the house, but they couldn't provide the degree of leak-proof that she needed. For those of you who pack school lunches, I'm sure you understand.

I personally figured we were foing to have to rely on emptied jars of either marinated artichoke hearts or larger jars of baby food. But, being the stubborn daughter of her father, she insisted they be made of plastic rather than glass.

We weren't doing very well in our search until at Wal-Mart's we found Rubbermaid's TakeAlongs Twist & Seal 1.5 Cup containers. Score!

What are they?

They're actually quite simple. They are small cereal-like bowl cups that have substantial threaded tops instead of the usual snap-on lids found on brands such as Gladware. When the lid is twisted on it provides...
...

jasyjen says "White Lavender & Sandalwood is lightly scented." about Snuggle Fabric Softener

Several years ago I quit using liquid fabric softeners. At the time I was using Downy and I constantly had people telling me they could smell my fabric softener on my clothing! I didn't want that. I don't want to be known as the woman that smells like Downy! So, I quit using it and went to dryer sheets.

Then I received two bottles of Snuggles Exhilarations as part of a research study. I agreed to use nothing but the liquid Snuggles until both bottles were gone. I was AMAZED at the gentle, yet delightful smell of this particular fabric softener. It's scent isn't overwhelming, it's very lightly scented, but makes the clothes smell very nice. And leaves them softer than my dryer sheets did!

Once I begain using the Snuggles I rememered what it was that I liked about fabric softener in the first place. It makes the clothes so soft! And my bath towels feel so good now! The difference between the Suggles Exhilarations that I'm using, and the Downy that I used to use, is that...
...

unilab98 says "What a crock" about Chef Tony's Smart Lidz

After watching the informercials for this item, I was so happy to see it at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I decided to pick it up and try it out. What a terrible item!!!! At first, it seemed to be exactly what the commercial suggested- a wonderful way to preserve your food. I put some strawberries in a plastic container and "sealed" it with the smart lid. it seemed like a good hold. A bit later, I open the fridge and the lid is no longer stuck to the container. It is just lying on top of it. I seal it again and put it back in the fridge. I later go back to fridge- unstuck again. I don't even know why I tried a third time. I guess you can see where this is going. Item is NOT as promised. Not even close. Not worth your money.
...

sdfduz says "waste of money" about Debbie Meyer Green Bags

okay....these bags seem amazing. how great would it be to be able to keep fresh fruits and veggies longer? but really...they don't work. well...let me take that back. they work about as well as any other produce bag. they do not work miracles though. i thnk i'll stick to my normal produce bags. the only perk here is that they are really inexpensive. so even though they don't work...i'll keep using them. i paid for them...and they're washable. why not?...

lukeleia says "Rubbermaid collapsible containers" about Rubbermaid Premier Storage Containers

I purchased a Rubbermaid collapsible container. By this I mean, it folds flat when not in use. I tried to use it today for the first time and found it to be a very poor container.

I made spaghetti sauce and put it in the expanded container. When I tried to put the lid on it, the container collapsed. I couldn't use it for the purpose it was intended for.

I would not buy this product again.
...

Jcherry says " Ziploc Vacuum Starter Kit is a must have in every home!" about Ziploc Vacuum Starter Kit

I have always wanted a electric sealer but I have always heard that they were so bulky. So I nevr got one. I bought this because it was so cheap. Thinking it was not going to work, but I would only throw away 4.00, WOW I was shocked. Taking it out of the package, I thought "oh yeah, I am taking this back!" Then I used it, Great Great Invention. Must buy! The bags that you need are cheaper than the other brand. Also NO batteries! I love it....
