I have always wanted Le Creuset cookware, but never had the money. I saw all those famous named people on Food Network with one, and I wanted one too. I wanted to cook food that looked picture perfect like on TV. I thought that the food was just a little too perfect looking on TV. I wasn't sure that when I would finally own Le Creuset my food would look like that too. So I decided to wait. Then a Le Creuset store opened up nearby to my house, and I signed up for their mailing list. This is a must - if you live nearby a one of their stores. Then I discovered that Williams Sonoma had free cooking demos. Thanks to Denise and her cooking chicken in Le Creuset, I knew I had to buy one and quickly. My lucky day had arrived when in the mail I received a 40% off coupon for Le Creuset!!! That was one deal I just couldn't pass up on. It is truly amazing..on the stovetop and in the oven. Even when you think your food is burnt (because the sides of the pot are black), it tastes...
...

Meri says "So long overdone rolls, so long burnt cookies... " about Pampered Chef Stoneware

Pampered Chef Stoneware turned me into an awesome baker. If I had not experienced baking with it I probably would be quite skeptical. So long overdone rolls, so long burnt cookies... truly amazing.

I have never burned baked goods while using the Pampered Chef Stoneware pieces. In fact, my cookies look as if I bought them at a bakery- perfectly baked to a golden brown. The secret to the way it browns is in the way the stoneware is made- each piece of stoneware is formed from a natural stoneware clay that evenly distributes heat and draws moisture away from the stone. As if that isn't enough of a sell, the stone retains heat so it acts like a warming dish after the items are baked. Somehow, it doesn't burn the baked item.

Seasoning the Stone:

It takes a little getting used to baking with any piece of Pampered Chef Stoneware. After receiving one you first need to wash it with hot water. The next step is called "seasoning" the stone. This is done by either baking a couple batches of high...
...

I recently got a new set of cookware from Belk. The cookware is fron the biltmore estate collection and contained basic pots and pans. Ifeel this set was a very good buy. I didn't not pay too much for a great set of cookware that will last me a long time. Of course thisn't the best in the world that money can buy but it is extra nice for what I need. Made out of steel with brass bottoms this cookware has a very nice look to it. it also heats quickly and holds the desired temp for long periods of time. This set is nonstick and does not scratch up easily. It seems to be very durable and extremely easy to clean. It is dishwasher safe which to me is the best part. I love to be in the kitchen and this set makes the whole experience that much enjoyable. It is easy to use I have something no matter the size of what I'm cooking and easy clean up. What more could someone ask for. I would recomend this cookware set to anyone shopping for a new one.
...

I received several Le Creuset skillets and bakeware for my bridal shower and wedding this year. I was so exciting to receive them because I heard they were of a high quality (and very expensive) brand. After 1 month of using them, they have terrible scratches and chips in the paint on the bottom and sides, especially of the skillet. I am so angry that the people who cared for me spent so much money on Le Creuset cookware when they are obviously not the high quality pieces we thought they were. Now I'm stuck with a set of expensive cookware that I don't want!
...

I wanted a Cuisinart anodized cookware set for many years. My T-Fal teflon set was starting to chip and I decided to search the internet for a new anodized cookware set. I chose amazon.com because they had a variety of sets for the most discounted prices. Cuisinart just wasn't in my budget. I searched for hours on end reading countless reviews and settled on a 10 peice cookware set by Wearever. What really impressed me to buy this set is that America's Test Kitchen reviewed one of their skillets and said that it was a great skillet for the price. I bought this set for under $50.00 which was a steal. It usually runs well over $100.00. When I received the set, I was impressed with the quality. The pots and pans are quite thick and they are contructed quite well. I believe this set will last me for many years to come. I have found that food actually tastes better when cooked in this set. My first dish that I made was potatoes, onions, and garlic which I sauted for...
...

czigler says "One of the best for baking breads, cookies, and pizzas. " about Pampered Chef Stoneware

I love the Pampered Chef Stoneware collection. They are great for cooking pizzas, rolls, cookies, biscuits, any really fatty bread. I do not recommend them for cooking meats, as, after a while, they will get a little funky and hard to clean. We have a circle stoneware pizza pan, and its great. We use to have two, but while making a frozen pizza one day, we set the pizza on the stoneware while the oven was preheating. When the oven got ready, we slid the pan in there, and in about 2 minutes heard a loud cracking sound. I looked in the oven and sure enough, the pan had cracked into 3 pieces. So you have to be careful with sudden changes in temperature with these pans. And you can't wash them with soap, because it will absorb into the stoneware. Other than that, they are good for certain things, and not for others. I like having the one pizza stone, but I don't think I would invest in the whole set of stoneware. Still, a great product from a great company.
...

I love cooking with cast iron. Lodge is a great brand, and has consistantly put out quality products over the lifetime of the company. The Lodge cast iron pans are heavy (a quality associate with good cast iron), some of them come pre-seasoned, they can cook almost anything. They pans are great for baking, cooking on the stove, or even over an open fire (whether in the fireplace or an outside fire). The pans conduct heat very well, they stay warm even after removal from heat, so your food will stay warmer longer. The only thing is that you have to clean them right after you use them, do not store food in them. But they are easy to clean, just empty your food out, and clean with water and a rag while pan is still warm. If the pan has gotten cold, you can use salt to get the crusted stuff off. They also make interesting wall art in the kitchen when not in use for cooking. Lodge cast iron pans are a must have for every kitchen, worth every penny, and will last long enough to hand down to your...
...

The Farberware Classic Series was something I looked for for a couple months. The 10 piece set has 4 pots, 3 frying pans and 3 lids. The pots are stainless steel while the frying pans are non-stick. The lids are glass with black plastic handles. This set was perfect for me since I am just starting out. The best thing is that I know this set will hold up a long time. My Mom has had her Farberware set for over 25 years and it is still in great condition! I believe that this is a must buy for everyone but specifically for those who are just moving into their own place or just getting married like I was. I had a lot of mix and match pieces and it was so nice to have a set that all matched! I will say the main reason why I went with stainless steel pots was because of the new information about non-stick finishes being harmful for women who are pregnant or will be trying to get pregnant. Make sure if you are in either category that you look up the research on that before making a purchase....
...

I've been cooking nearly all my life because I love food and having other people enjoy my creations. I haved use countless varieties of cookware in the past and I have spent way too much money for most of them. For the longest time , I was the kind of person who thought the more expensive cookware always supposed to be the best, until I gave T-fal a try for the first time. I fell in love with this cook-ware the first time I used it. I couldn't believe how well made this cook-ware is. My favorite feature about my T-fal pots and pans is the heavy aluminium bottoms. It enables all my foods to cook evenly. It's hard for me to believe that I purchased an entire set ot T-fal cook-ware for less money than I have spent on a single pan from another company. I would recomend T-fal cook-ware to anyone who loves to cook as much as I do. I'm a firm believer now, you don't have to pay a lot of money for great quality.
...

This Pampered cheif Stone is the best! Once you use it to make your pizza you will not use a metal pan agaiN! The crust is just the right amount of crispy! I USE IT TO BAKE MY COOKIES AND THEY NEVER BURN! I'm the type of person to put something in the oven and forget on accident and i have done that while baking cookies and wow to my surprise they weren't burnt. It would take a lot of time to burn them! :-) Which is a plus! I also make the chicken crossiant pockets with cream cheese and onion and they cook up real crispy and nice. The family loves them! You have to start out small meaning baking cookies and things to "season" the stone before you go baking pizza it helps the crisping process. I would recommend that every household have one! Great for baking! They also have a casserole dish that is the same material! I suggest that one too! It's a great buy for the amoun you pay!
...

I have Pyrex bowls in my house that are older than me, and still going very strong. I have dropped them on the floor, left them in the freezer for months, and cooked, mixed, or baked everything under the sun in them. They have faithfully been there through countless numbers of salads, but more often than that, they have lcontained batter for batches of brownies, cookies, and cakes, and muffins. Pyrex is simply an icon of quality in the kitchen-one that is taken for granted, but is greatly missed if it is not there. I am currently working on a a few pumpkin-shaped cakes that require baking in round bowls, and once again, I am able to trust my time-tested Pyrex bowls to measure up. They are also an easy and good idea for one who needs kitchen supplies for Christmas or wedding gifts. You can't go wrong. Years ago when my mother gave me some in college, I thought little of it, but today I realize it was a very wise investment on her part.
...

i have a pretty complete set of le creuset cookware, and i use it frequently. i know it doesn't make my cooking skills any better, but i makes me happy standing over my cute green cookware.

this soup pot is a different story, though. first of all, i don't understand why the makers actually though that the small bottom shape would make it better for cooking soup. i find that the chopped vegetable in the soup fall to the bottom and layer over each other - no matter how diligent i am at turning the food over, the bottom stuff always turns out mushier than the top layer. also, because of the way it's shaped, unless you're making a completely brothy soup, it makes it really difficult to turn the food around

i find myself reaching for the flat-bottomed french ovens way more frequently than the soup pot, even for soups. the enamel and apple green color are lovely, but i really don't like the design.
...

i know a lot of people swear by Le Creuset, and say it's basically the holy grail of cooking stuff. i own a pretty complete set for everyday use. i have a skillet, 3 different sized round pots, a covered casserole, a marmitout and a panini press. it's good for people who believe that you're making an extra special dish because you're using a really expensive cast iron pot/pan, but i'm not so sure it makes such a huge difference.

for starters, the surface is really hard to take care of. i'm super vigilant about not letting it soak in water too long, i always use wooden utensils on it, and if anything happens to the enamel on the inside, i clean it with Bon Ami... but even with all this attention, there are spots where the enamel has started to thin a little, and i imagine in a few years, i will be seeing rust spots in the bottom of the pots.

the heat distribution is very even, as everybody says. but to be honest, i'm not sure that the average home cook needs that kind of professional equipment...
...

The All-Clad cookware set comes in various sizes and different finishes. It also can be purchased seperately by the piece.I have found that you can mix and match your pieces so that you can utilize one pot for several cooking functions. The most important thing to remember about this product is that once you purchse it you will realize that you have something that you will have a long time and in all likelyhood won't have to buy again!Good Luck with your new Cooking set!
...

Years ago T-Fal was the lastest and greatest and highly recommended. My mother-in-law was in desperate need of new cookware, so for Christmas our family bought her a set. It was green and non-stick. Well, for the first 2 years it was great, cooked evenly and clean up was a snap. Then gradually the non-stick coating wasn't so great and food began to stick. When you tried to scrap it off, the non-stick coating scratched. Once the coating was scratched it began to wear off. Not only was the non-stick coating a problem, the cookware began to become discolored. Definitely a waste of money....

moms2cents says "After 25 years still in great shape" about Farberware Original Classic Stainless Steel Cookware

A set of Farberware stainless steel pots and pans (3 sauce pots with lids, 1 stock pot with lid, a frying pan, and a double boiler) were given to me as gift about 25 years ago when I got my first apartment. I still have them and use them almost everyday. Sure they have signs of wear and tear, but doesn't everything after that many years. I've burnt food in them and just keep scrubbing away and eventually they come clean. For lighter cleaning, I just put them in the dishwasher, which isn't really necessary since they clean easily. They're made with a heavy grade stainless steel so they cook evenly.

With some pots and pans, one of the problems that occurs is the screws that hold on the handles loosen or break, or the plastic handles crack. Not my farberware, still in great shape.

I believe so much in these, that I've given them as gifts many times over the years. The pots and pans are a very good quality, durable, and they don't break the bank.
...

AmyA says "Have you ever been in love with your pots and pans? " about Paula Deen 10 Pc. Set of Pots and Pans

You want me to cook with those pans? Ugggg! My old pans were looking old, dry, no life nor were they inspiring me to cook.

I found this beautiful 10 piece cookware set at Walmart for $99 and text my hubby that I would love to toss out the old crap we had replace it with (I took a picture of the Paula Deen pan set with my cell phone and sent it to him). l got a OK (I already had it in the cart before he said OK shhhhhh) and brought it home.

It fit us perfect. All of pans can go into the oven up to 350 degrees, made of porcelain enamel, durable, stain resistant (a plus with my hubby), a snap to clean (a plus for me) because it has a nonstick interior, mine is a pretty speckled red finish (LOVE IT) and a limited life time warranty. The pan covers are glass with a cool brass finish. Just the right weight too.

The ten piece set comes with: one and two quart sauce pans with lids, three quart sauce pan with lid (great for soup for two), six quart stock pan with lid, and a eight and...
...

somedayilllearn says "This dough blender makes blending butter and flour a cinch!" about Oxo Good Grips Dough Blender with Blades

You know when recipes tell you to "cut chilled butter into flour" and you wonder what you're supposed to use to do that? Multiple knives? A fork, perhaps? This handy little tool is the long-awaited answer.

This dough blender (also known as a pastry cutter) helps out with the toughest part of baking cookies, bread, biscuits, and many other recipes. It's a small, handheld object that goes into your palm to give you multiple blade power in one hand (kind of like Wolverine!). It's makes any mashing and blending project easier. I use it for blending ingredients, mashing potatoes, chopping hard-boiled eggs, and the occasional ninja fight. It's ideal for mixing up crumb toppings, too. The Oxo brand is a lot more sturdy than a lot of other manufacturer's, with prongs that are actually blades as opposed to whisk-like prongs that warp and bend with a lot of use. And to top it all off, it's dishwasher safe!
...
