I love the braun water kettle -- I've had it (in black) for 1 1/2 years now, and have never had a problem with it. It boils water very fast, doesn't collect "deposits" the way I've heard other kettles do, and boils 2 cups just as well as 10 cups of water -- making it easier to make anything from tea to defrosting frozen veggies in no time, without me having to turn on the stove and watch a pot. It actually makes me make tea before I go to work and bring it with me, where I never used to because I had no time in the morning to worry about a tea kettle on the stove drying out or burning. So in that way, it's even more of a money saver because it keeps me from sending all my money to starbucks!...

The Braun Universal Gold Screen Coffee Filter is a great reusable cone style coffee filter. It's great, you use it just like a paper filter only when you're done you just dump out the coffee grounds and give it a quick rinse. These things last forever!

Ok, the down side for me is that my Bunn coffee maker uses the basket filters. When the electricity goes out we use the Malita with this filter and it makes wonderful coffee. I like the fact that we will never have to replace it. Go Green with Gold!

Two thumbs up!!
...

I like the idea of this tea press; you add tea leaves or bags to the center area, then press the button down when it has steeped enough. It works well but leaves fragments of tea leaves in your cup. It could be improved by adding a fine mesh to the area where the tea goes....

I recently got the Hamilton Beach Cordless electric kettle from my sister for my birthday. We drink hot tea quite frequently, so it is nice to have. Plus, it boils the water quickly for instant outmeal and anything else you need hot water for. The insides rusted alittle bit, so you do have to remember to empty it everytime you use it, though....

Telpher says "Like watching water boil" about Capresso Electric Kettle

My partner is from New Zealand, where having a counter top electric kettle is a MUST. Having lived in NZ for several years, I got used to having an electric kettle, myself. They're great when you want to make plunger coffee, instead of espresso. Also great when you want to make a big, old batch of tea for iced tea. Or for any time you want to boil water.

It's not all that easy to find a good electric kettle (or "jug" as the Kiwis call 'em) in the USA. Most of them are made of plastic, and don't last long. Their automatic shut-off valves seem to conk out after a few months. And they don't exactly look great.

Enter Capresso's glass kettle. It's great-looking. It boils water quickly and the shut-off valve never fails. Being made of glass, you can actually see the water bubbling up, which is sort of fun. I take child-like joy in this part. I love the Capresso electric kettle. It didn't come cheap, but it's worth every penny.
...

rulistenin says "better than plastic kettles" about Breville SK500XL Ikon Cordless Electric Kettle

I'm really satisfied with my purchase of the Breville cordless hot water kettle. I did a lot of researching before purchasing this brand. It had some of the best reviews.

This kettle is stainless steel rather than plastic like most other electric water kettles. Whenever I use plastic kettles, they always have a plastic smell which concerns me about what I'm consuming. Some other selling features for me are that this kettle sits on a 360 degree base, so that it doesn't matter what direction you place it back on the base. Also, it has a blueish light that comes on when the water is heating which makes a good conversation piece. Most plastic kettles have all the heating elements exposed inside the pot which makes them more difficult to clean. The Breville has one element on the inside, but it doesn't get in the way of cleaning. The water heats up pretty quickly as well and stays warmer longer than water heated in a microwave oven.

Some downfalls are, when you hold the pot by the handle to fill......

Well, I finally did it. I left my traditional tea pot burning on the stove several times this year until all the water evaporated and I smoked the house. That was it for me! For safety reasons, I ran down to my neighborly Kmart/Sears store and would you believe the timing. The Sunbeam Iced Tea Maker I had wanted, just happened to be on sale. Now I keep two pitchers of tea in my fridge because my family loves the taste & since we now have two pitchers, I just keep them rotating, and we never run out......I wish I had bought my Sunbeam Iced Tea Maker a long time ago! I can now go about my daily chores/work without ever worrying again. Thanks Sunbeam!...

My relatives had been using this Whistling Kettle (from one all medelco) on a daily basis for the past 10 years! They were absolutely in love with it. But they have lost the whistler, and couldn't find a replacement forever... Then, all the sudden, they re-discovered it on a K-Mart shelf, and it was about 10 Bucks! Certainly a bargain if you are a tea drinker, or like instant coffe and oatmeal. It's great for all your breakfast needs, is sturdy, and holds quite a bit of water. No more kids fighting whose oatmeal is going to have to wait. Cleaning is a snap, it is glass, so it will stay beautiful with very little effort. I've had other metal tea kettles before, but this one is way easier to take care of, and will promise long years of use. Just remember to use the enclosed heat diffuser, and don't break it... but if you do, now you know where to find it!...

What I like most about the Bunn filters is that they are taller and if you love making real strong coffee you don't have to worry about the coffee grounds running over the top of the filter. If you are a Bunn coffee-maker user, then you might have had this problem using reg. size filters. You can order them by the case by logging into the Bunn site. They are inexpensive and in my opinion, the best coffee filter I have used....

I love drinking tea, and sometimes an instant decaf coffee. Before I purchased this wonderful item, I had to either warm up water in the microwave (disgusting is the word that comes to mind here) or cook water on the stove, which takes too long.

After spending some time in Europe, I learned about these water cookers and found them to be energy efficient, cheap, efficient and very quick. I was very happy to find them here in the states too and that is the first thing I went out and got once I was back. I have not regretted it for a moment.

There are also very nice safety features that ovens don't have..such as the automatic switch to turn it off once the water is boiling. This is also great as a gift for someone who tends to forget things, I know I worry less now that my grandmother cooks tea for water with this instead of the gas stove!

The fact that there is no cable makes it convenient to use also.

I can only recommend it....

We drink a lot of iced tea in my house, so when I found out there was a small appliance dedicated to brewing it, I researched the available options and bought this one. I'm really glad I did, since I use it multiple times each week. My Mr. Coffee-brand tea maker has been going strong for over two years now, and I like the ease of use. Pour in the water, add the tea to the brewing basket and push the start button. Simple.

Of course, having a dedicated appliance means no more brewing tea with the coffee maker and having that yucky coffee-flavored tea. And I never did like messing about with boiling the water, adding the tea, setting the timer, waiting for it to cool, then pouring it into a pitcher. With this appliance, you get cool, freshly brewed, ready-to-drink iced tea in minutes.

I like the small footprint of this appliance, and the height is the same as our coffee maker, meaning that it fits under our cabinet on the counter, but we have to pull it out to add the water. The "CYA" instructions...
...
