dmlichnerowicz says "Amazing little gadget!" about Pampered Chef Dripless Pourer/Stopper

We typically don't polish off an entire bottle of wine in one sitting when it's just me and my husband. I have broken off more corks trying to shove them back in the neck of the bottle to store it for later use! So my mother, the Pampered Chef diva, gave me the Pampered Chef Dripless Pourer/Stopper for Christmas. What a perfect little gadget!

What it is: The pourer/stopper has a double-lipped and tapered pour spout, to catch extra liquids and points the beverage in a more directed stream, so you end up with no drips down the side of the bottle. The black stopper can be pulled up and pushed gently back down to seal with bottle, either just to keep it on the table to avoid spills or for storage after it's been opened. It can be washed in the dishwasher without risk of damage to the seal. And if you do run into problems, there's a 3-year extended manufacturer's guarantee.

What I like about it: This is a nice-looking and simple-to-use product. It doesn't require any effort...
...

montanasmom says "Make opening wine a breeze" about Bed Bath & Beyond Easy Lift Corkscrew Set

I recently had yet another battle between a stubborn wine cork and cork screw , and vowed to buy one of the rabbit eared wine opener/corkscrews that every one seems to be talking about these days. So off I went to my local Bed, Bath, and Beyond store to purchse one. Imagine my shock when I saw a set for $60.00! As I was quickly changing my mind about this purchase one of the store associates pointed me in the direction of their seasonal items, and there was their house brand set for only a tiny little $9.99. With one of their 20% off coupons, I found the price more than attractive. This stainless steel set includes the corkscrew, a foil cutter, a stainless steel stopper to keep wine fresh, a stand, and an extra corkscrew replacement. I brought it home and tried it out, and it is awesome. You can open even the most stubborn bottle with ease. I can't really explain how it works, just trust me and pick one up today to complete your bar set up.
...

The OXO Good Grips shaker is very easy to use and easy to clean! It comes with a jigger cap and built-in strainer. The jigger cap has 3/4 oz, 1 oz, and 1.5 oz markings so you know how much of each drink ingredient you're putting in. Seals tightly and easy to shake - because of its soft plastic outside and rubberized cap, I'm not afraid of it flying out of my hands. The cap is a teensy bit difficult to remove to pour the drink out, but overall it's a great buy and a must have for any alcohol-drinker that's a bargain hunter!
...

jazzybean01 says "Wine stoppers are effective toppers" about VacuVin Vacuum Wine Stoppers

Any wine drinker will tell you how annoying it is to replace a crumbly cork back into a wine. Okay, so maybe not the wine drinkers who finish off the bottle. :)

With the Vacu Vin Vacuum Wine Stoppers it makes recorking any wine bottle easy and effortless. You just put the Wine Stopper into the bottle and using the Wine Saver you make a vacuum seal that preserves wine and keeps the stoppers on there nice and snug.

Vacu Vin Stoppers are easy to clean and easy to store. The top comes off for easy cleaning but usually you can just swish it around in hot water to clean. There's also no fuss or strain when re-opening a bottle that has been Vacu Vin sealed; just push the top nub off and it pops off (much like a champagene cork with the noise too!)

Vacu Vin Wine Stoppers are a great part of any wine collection.
...

I love relaxing on weekends with my fiance just enjoying conversations or listening to music and drinking wine, but i don't like opening wine bottles at all. I could never get it right, so i would always ask somebody to do it. The corkscrew is one of my least favorite equipments in the kitchen...it takes patience and effort for me to pull the cork out! and worse, sometimes the cork breaks halfway and so i have to try pushing down the screw again that often leads to the cork going down instead of coming out. So this is one thing i stay away from....until we got our Oster Electric Wine Opener...It's amazing how quickly it removes the cork from the bottle. Just press the switch and voila, the wine is ready for pouring!! This product is so simple and easy to use, i love it!! Plus, it is small and has a stand to hold it upright and ready for recharging, so you can put it in one side of your kitchen counter and barely use up any space at all. Now i don't have to worry about opening a bottle...
...

After busting so many of the other corkscrews that were purchased at discount stores we decided to splurge a bit and get a good one! This thing works great! It's so easy to use, it came with a neat case that holds everything in place...a foil cutter and an extra spiral were in there too. It came with a 10 year warranty but from the looks of it I don't think we will ever need to use it. Everything works so smoothly and it's so quick to open a bottle of wine. According to the package you should be able to open a bottle in "3 seconds flat" Now I've not timed myself opening a bottle but I would have to say that it's close enough to 3 seconds for me!...

mypoints123456 says "Works great!" about Houdini Lever Corkscrew Wine Opener

I own a wine store and just bought the Houdini Lever Corkscrew Wine Opener to test! It. Is. Great. I would recommend it to any house wife that struggles with the original cork screw opener. This instantly does the job with little to no effort! I just can't get over how easy this corkscrew is to use. Instead of having to pull the cork from the bottle, you use lever action to do all of the work for you. Since switching from a tradition corkscrew, I haven't had a single cork break or get stuck in the bottle. Also, since you need less of the 'screw' in the cork, I haven't had any cases where the corkscrew went through the entire cork, meaning no little bits of cork in the wine. The only thing I can think of to improve this product would be some way to secure the two handles for storage. They tend to stick out quite a bit, which takes up a lot of space and since they are spring loaded, if you close them and put them in a drawer they spring out and make getting it out of the drawer a challenge.......

It takes me several years to make a good bottle of wine here at Villa Milagro Vineyards. From pruning in the spring to tending, fertilizing and irrigating, through harvest and finally to fermenting and aging, wine making is an art form, a science and a huge commitment.

A well meaning wine drinker can destroy all my hard work in just a few days if they fail to store opened wine properly. Air is the winemaker's and the wine drinker's enemy. When making wine, too much air can create off flavors and off colors. After opening a bottle, too much air can cause the same havoc on an otherwise delightful wine.

Until the VacuVin. Brilliant! A few pumps and my wines are safe for you to continue enjoying until the very last drop. For a small investment in this clever device, you can protect your wines. Life is too short to waste food wine.
...

The Italian Stanless steel Wing Type Cork Screw is very user friendly for the amatuer or expert at opening wine bottles. I have tried many types of cork pullers, and this is my favorite. I find it easy to pull the cork perfect every time. Others that I have tried are flemsy, and not as durable and long lasting. I love the fact that it is metal and strong, yet not heavy and cumbersome. I have yet to put my cork screw opening in crooked, there is nothing worse than trying to pull out a cork and the opener being on the side of the cork and pieces fall into the bottle of wine. This opener is worth the purchase, you won't be disappointed.

...

I own one of those mysterious corkscrews which have no brand name apparent. This marvelous tool which I have used for years is made of heavy bright silver-color stainless steel and is engraved with the word "Italy". It consists of a heavy central screw powered by a large rotating handle at the top. You prop the corkscrew into the cork of a wine bottle with easy accuracy by lowering the screw's round metal frame over the neck of the bottle, with the wings in a downward position. As you turn the screw down into the cork, the wings slowly begin to rise. Miraculously, when they are in an upward position, all you have to do is push the wings down again and the screw with cork attached will pop up out of the bottle.

It is so easy a child could do it. This corkscrew has been a fixture in my kitchen for years now but I still see them in stores. (I think I bought mine at Crate & Barrel.) As fate would have it, someone just this week is selling a corkscrew just like this on E-Bay...
...

using the vacuvin is a great way to prolonge the freshness of an oppened bottle of wine. freshness lasts longer when all the air is vacumed out with the vacuvin.......very easy to use. I've been using a similiar product for over two years now and definetly notice the difference. With many times of just wanting a single cup of wine for the evening I would be left with unused and sour wine days later, basically losing freshness shortly after opening the bottle. Rather then waste a good bottle of wine and money I say its wise to make a small investment to insure freshness and logevity of a good bottle of wine.....Enjoy ...

I bought this for myself and several of my friends have commented on how much they liked it and what a great gift it would make. (I think they were dropping hints that they would like one.) I would have given it 4.5 stars if I'd had that option. I like that it is easy to use, cordless, rechargeable and pops the cork with one touch of a button (and only one more touch to dispose of the cork). The only negatives for me are: that you must charge it first and it takes up more space than your corkscrew. It does charge quickly, though. It also has a nice stainless steel look, so you can leave it on your counter or bar and it will blend in with other appliances. In my opinion this wine opener will make a great gift for the amateur wine drinker and the wine afficianados alike.
...

You can find the Pulltap's being used in some of the finest restaurants in the world.

This is THE EASIEST sommelier style corkscrew to use in the world! With about 10,000 corkscrews in my stock, this is still the corkscrew I use to open wine on all but the most special of occasions. Simply insert the worm completely into the cork, rest the first (top) lever on the top of the wine bottle and lift the handle (the unique design affords tremendous leverage), when the cork has moved about halfway out of the bottle, lower the handle and place the second (lower) lever on the top of the wine bottle,...
...

stocktradr2 says "Used by the top sommeliers around the world." about Chateau Laguiole Corkscrew

Handmade by artisans in Thiers, France, the authentic Chateau Laguiole corkscrew is a beautifully crafted piece. These are undoubtedly the highest-quality handheld corkscrews in the world, and are backed with a lifetime warranty. As durable as they are beautiful, the Chateau Laguiole is truly the "Rolls Royce" of wine openers.

Because the name "Laguiole" isn't copyrighted, there are several lower-priced versions available across the price spectrum (almost all of which are excellent corkscrews), however, an authentic Chateau Laguiole corkscrew has a trademark at the base of the boot lever. Another way to help identify an authentic Chateau Laguiole corkscrew is the ornamental steel used in the spine of the corkscrew, and the distinctive "Bee Emblem" made famous by Napolean (the "Bee Emblem" was used to demote high quality). All new Chateau Laguiole corkscrews come with a leather pouch - if it's advertised as new and there isn't a pouch, you're probably looking at a knockoff version.

Made...
...

mudpuppie says "Leave it on the store shelf" about Napa Essentials Air Pressure Cork Popper

Just insert the needle into the cork and pump to raise the cork from the wine bottle. The needle was easy to insert, but despite how hard I pumped, it was impossible to generate enough pressure to raise the cork. Perhaps a man with very strong hands would be able to pump hard and fast enough to generate the necessary pressure behind the cork to lift it, but the average female would not have the hand strength....

joshuamay100 says "Inefficient, unnecessary, and useless" about Emerson Single Bottle Wine Cooler and Warmer, Black / Silver

When a person is on the go, we don't want ice-cold milk irritating our sweet little bundles. This might lead us to buy a milk bottle cooler/warmer. Though I can see the motivation and the marketing angle, the product itself comes up short. It takes longer than just running it under warm water and actually takes more time to use it. It often doesn't work at all and is quite generally...Lame!...

jazzybean01 says "Entertain with the appropriate glassware" about Circle Ware Event Entertaining Set

Nothing screams cheap like not having the right glassware (or any for that matter) when entertaining. I would know. When guests came over they were drinking wine out of a mickey mouse juice glass. I don't think that's very G rated.

So when my boyfriend and I went to Kohl's the other day we happened to pass a discount shelf. We shuffled through and found this set for only $20 (normally around $40 I think). So of course we bought it because, hey, Mickey doesn't want to be an alcoholic.

This set is a six piece set with four - 10 oz. martini glasses; one glass and stainless steel cocktail shaker (nope didn't have one of these either) and a 14 inch lacquered tray.

I'm definitely happy to have my shaker. Now I can have a nice martini in the right glass and feel sophisticated at the same tame. This is a great little set and will get lots of use.
...
