When my original toaster, a Black and Decker one, broke down after I cleaned it (I think I got water in the internals somehow) I went shopping for a replacement. I checked everywhere, Linen N Things, Macy's, Sears, Target, Bed, Bath, and Beyond, Orchard's, Lowe's, etc. I like design and functionality. I wanted a toaster oven that both looked nice on my counter as well as performed excellently. The design I liked best was by Hamilton which I got at Target. It came in different colors, was a top loading toaster oven so was kind of traditional. But what I found was that it took too long to toast, and it was difficult contolling the darkness. At the lowest level the toast came out too brown. I thought maybe I got a lemon and exchanged it for another one and this time had other mechanical problems, so returned that for good. Then I purchased two high-end European types, and found they were too big on the counter and it took too long to toast a slice of bread. In the end I...
...

ewilson says "Such an easy and convenient product" about Cuisinart Toaster Oven Broiler with Convection Oven (TOB-60)

There are many toaster ovens on the market. This is, however, a trusted brand name and comes with a 3-year warranty. I think that's such an important thing for appliances. I also like that this appliance matches the others I have by the same maker.

It's not too big inside, but it allows for cooking of about 4 pieces of toast, somewhat stacked on the corners. I would prefer it be a tad bigger.

It's easy to use because the knobs on the right hand side are labeled well. I am fairly certain a child can learn to use such a machine if they are taught about heat temperatures.

I love having a convection oven because sometimes it's easier than turning on the big oven for meals-for-one.

My oven can cook up to 500 degrees... which makes it such a great tool for an on-the-go kitchen or heating up small items. It heats faster than a regular oven and is really superb it heating abilities. I would buy another of the same brand/make if this one ever stops working.
...

I love this toaster oven. Really, who would have thought to make a tiny oven that sits on your counter, or toasting more than two pieces of bread at the same time? Anyway, I cook very often, and it is extrordinarily convenient to pop some bread in there and make a grilled cheese sandwich in four minutes. This brand also has an oven feature that works well for a college student on the go. Okay, it makes cookies look really odd, but hey, they taste the same! I've also used it for casadillas, and random food items that I want to heat up. I hate using the microwave since my mom swears it'll give me cancer, so this is the perfect alternative. Food heats up almost as quickly as in the microwave, and doens't have that dead-taste you get with microwaved food. The one I'm using is my roommate's, but whenever I move out on my own, I'm going to list this product as one of the number one appliances I need for a complete kitchen.
...

I really like this little oven, In fact I will go so far as to say it is the best toaster oven I've ever owned. It does a surprisingly good job toasting bread. The oven, whether on regular or convection, does a really nice job cooking small frozen pizzas and other freezer foods that the kids like. I also use it to cook small casseroles and heat bread for dinner. The biggest plus is when I use it I no longer have to heat up the big oven and the kitchen when I just need to heat up a small dish. The kitchen stays cool in the summer and I saves energy. Though I will admit I have not cooked anything that splattered much, I have found it very easy to keep clean.
...

In the beginning, the only thing I knew about Convection Ovens was that my grandmother owns one. She really doesn't use it much, except for when she wants to make something like a single pie and doesn't want to heat up her regular oven. The rest of the year, her Convection Oven can be found tucked away in a corner of her basement, near the washing machine. I've never been one to mind heating up my huge monster of an oven so buying one wasn't even a consideration for me. Then things changed. Bad turn after bad turn landed my husband and I living with my parents and in a situation where I had a kitchen...but no stove. No stove means no oven and since baking is pretty much my religion, that was a serious problem. It was time for me to start looking for a solution.

So, armed with my debit card and determined not to come home without a convection oven, I set out. I had originally done some research online and I was liking what I saw. The problem was that all the ovens I really...
...

G. E. Convection Toaster Oven Large Capacity has all the possible gadgets that a girl could ever want in a Toaster Oven. The style is not bad either. It offers multiple cooking options like bake, broil, toast and warm. It also has an adjustable thermostat with timer, which is my favorite feature. It has a slide out crumb tray, which is very easy to remove, clean and put back. The design of the unit is just great for me! All the knobs are on the right hand side and it has a handle that goes the width across the top. This makes for much easier opening and closing. The front panel is glass so you can see clearly inside. There is also and adjustable rack. When the unit is on it is loud but you get use to it.
...

I love to cook, but I don't like having a lot of clutter on my countertops. I always put my toaster and other small appliances back in the cupboard after using them because I think they make the counter look messy. Hence my hesitation in buying a toaster oven. Where the heck would I put it?

Call me weird, but my family didn't have a toaster oven growing up, so I was very unfamiliar with them. When I was having dinner at a friends house a couple months ago, I watched my friend put Texas Toast in her toaster oven. Oh my, I can eat Texas Toast without having to turn my oven on in the middle of August? I'm sold. A couple days later, I went to Target and bought the Emerson Stainless Steel Toaster Oven. It's small, so it doesn't take up a lot of counter space and it matches the rest of my stainless steel appliances.

This toaster oven has 1,000 watts of cooking power and includes a baking tray and wire rack. It bakes, broils and toasts. I still use my regular toaster for toast,...
...

The Black and Decker Toast-R-Oven is really great. We bought ours with wedding gift money about 2.5 years ago. We thought we would by a model that was more expensive, but both our families had always used Black and Decker toast oven models, so that is what we went for. We've used it almost every day since then and have really enjoyed it.

One of the features I like about the oven is the crumb tray. The older models I grew up with didn't have this, and I love the fact that the easy removal of the tray makes clean-up faster and quicker. I can keep my toaster oven looking good with minimal effort.

Our Toast-R-Oven came with a tray that we use alot, and with a tray removal tool and a tray with holes in it. The last two items I don't think I've ever used. They are just taking up room in my kitchen drawer. It just seems like they're more trouble than they're worth, because it's just easy to pull out the tray with a potholder. I often use a piece of foil on the tray so I have to wash it less often....
...

The Black and Decker Toast-R-Oven is a big dissapointment! I bought it not only to brown toast and make hot sandwiches but to cook food, such as chicken fingers and bagel bites, in small batches. The toast function works OK but unfortunately that is the only thing that works properly! I tried to make 5 oatmeal cookies and they burned within 6 minutes. I turned the temperature down, tried again, and they burned in 4 minutes! The next day, I tried to make 3 cinnamon rolls. Again, the same thing happened. They were burned on the outside within 5 minutes but the insides were raw. The instruction booklet states that these types of foods should be cooked according to package directions but this is obviously not the case. Thankfully I bought it on clearance or I would really be upset. I guess I will just be using it now on for toast. Waste of money for sure especially since I already have a regular toaster!
...

I bought this Cuisinart convention oven toaster broiler with exact heat a little less than a year ago. We purchased it from Costco last winter for about $125. We use it all the time to make toast, whether it be bread or english muffins. It has always performed very well. We have cooked some frozen meals in it, such as french bread pizzas. VERY YUMMY! I love that it has a setting so that you can choose how dark or light you want your toasting to be, it allows you to adjust the time even. It is very simple to clean, just remove the crumb tray from the back of the unit and wash with soap and water. Dry it thoroughly and reinsert into the back of the oven. It even came with extra trays and shelves, which we have never found the need to use. We have one shelf in the middle and it serves all of our needs quite well. It is built very well, all stainless steel with a digital interface. Overall, it is a very good oven. We had a cheapy oven previously and it didn't last us at all.

My husband and I found this Black & Decker convection/toaster oven on sale at Sam's Club for $46, though it retails online around $70-85. When we checked out the review sites, we found a lot of positive reviews as well as a number of negative reviews, most of which have to do with how hot the oven gets. We took those comments into consideration, but figured that for the price it was worth a little bit of a gamble.

Over a month later, it's by far the best money we've spent for the kitchen lately, and since my husband used to be a professional chef, that's saying something. We cook at least two meals at home 5-6 days a week, and over the time that we've had the CTO6301, we've probably only turned on our regular oven twice - the convection oven is that versatile. We've used it for things as basic as making toast (which it does MUCH better than other covection/toaster ovens I've used) and reheating leftovers, to more heavy-duty things like baking cookies and rolls and cooking lasagna straight...
...

Update:

Several weeks after writing this review the toaster oven started smoking. It is not in our basement and I have bought a new one.

We needed a new toaster and usually buy inexpensive small appliances and replace them frequently. I picked up Home Cookin by WeatherWorks at one of the large department stores for $20. The website http://www.weatherworks.net has it for around $34.00 but I am sure you can do better. The model number is 6868.

Pros

Home Cookin by WeatherWorks Toaster Oven

is attractive. I got it in black but it also comes in white.

is compact. There are only 2 of us who eat human food in my house so the fact it will fit 4 slices of bread is just fine.

has an easy to open cool touch door handle.

has feet that do not skid on my counter top.

has a baking tray and a grill rack.

has a power light so I know when the toaster is on.

has a full ranger of temperatures.

has a 60-minute timer but also has a stay on feature so I don't have to time something.

This is my second Black & Decker toaster over in 16 years. We simply outgrew the first one. This toaster oven is perfect for all my immediate lunch and breakfast needs. I have four children under 10 and we use this for chicken nuggets, fish sticks, toast, bagels, and reheating everying from pizza to cheese sticks. I can't even begin to estimate how much money we save by not having to use the oven for such simple things; especially in the summer when competing with the air conditioner! The TRO390W has one small annoyance, and that is the toaster browning feature. It has a setting for light, medium, and dark, but they really aren't functional settings. The timer won't stay on unless it's set to dark, and then you have burnt toast. We have found that you have to use the continuous stay on feature and set the timer on the stove for 2-3 minutes. If you forget to do this, then you have burned toast, bread, or waffles. Upside, if you DO remember to set the timer, the frozen waffles are perfect...
...

The Euro-Pro digital convection oven has eight settings; convection broil, broil, convection bake, bake, toast, dehydrate, defrost, and cook pause (which I have never figured out how to use, along with the timer - and the owner's manual is no help for either of these issues). I am able to cook up to a twelve inch pizza in the oven, and I prefer it baked in the Euro-Pro versus our regular oven, and it only bakes up to 450 degrees. You can only change the temperature in ten degree increments which is frustrating, and I have found that setting the temperature five degrees hotter seems to cook better than having it five degrees cooler than what a package or recipe calls for. It came with one bake rack, one set of tongs for tray removal (I have lost these and a hot mitt works fine), one crumb tray, and one baking pan. The door does get very hot and I have burned myself on it a number of times, never very badly. I usually place aluminum foil on the baking tray, and for many things use a vegetable...
...

I found the Hamilton Beach at $40.00 to be very reasonable. It has a (2 slice) toaster at the top and the oven unit underneath. The Hamilton is compact and doesn't take up too much space on the counter. As for operation, this one is functional and sturdy, you won't be able to heat anything larger than a slice of pizza or a couple of rolls at a time, but that's all I was looking for. The only downside is the cleaning, which is rather labor intensive. You can only get to all the crumbs by shaking it upside down over a trash can, then trying to wipe it clean. However, overall it's a serviceable appliance.
...

Hello Again.I Am Here This Time To Talk About The Ronco Showtime Rotisserie,And BBQ. Oven. What A Great Way To Cook.I Roasted A Whole Chicken,The Other Day . It Tasted Just Like The Ones You Buy At Your Local grocery Store.Prefectly Cooked And Very Juicey. It Was About A 3.5 Pound Chicken. It Took About 13 Minutes A Pound to Cook.Just About A Hour.Again The Chicken Was Easy To Cook.Just Set The Timer And Let It Do Its Thing. All I Did Was To Put The Chicken On The Spit,And Put On A Little Salt PepperAnd A Little Lemon Seasoning. The Clean Up Was Not That Bad,Just Some Soap And Water,And A Little Bit Of A Degreaser,Like Simply Green. No Big Deal The Bottom Catch Tray Is Also Non Stick And Can Go Into Your Dishwasher.I Am Going To Try My First Turkey On Thanksgiving.A Small 10 Bird.10 To 12 Minutes Per Pound. If It Cooks Turkey Like The Chicken,That Will Be A Very Tender Juicey Turkey.Try One The Price Is About 120 US Dollars. So I Hope You Try One.PEACE
...

winlewisiv says "Larger than it looks" about Black & Decker Spacesaver Toaster Oven

After more years than I ever expected, our Black & Decker Toaster Oven finally stopped working. We bought it in Ohio 14 years ago and moved it to Minnesota when we moved here 10 years ago. When we went to replace it, I was pleased to see that the only under counter model available was another Black & Decker. It has different features than our last one, but this one will work out fine.

First it is larger than it looked at first glance. It holds 6 slices of bread as compared to the 4 slices the old one held. For a family of 6 this is a definite improvement. It works on a timer so now the kids can't leave it on for hours after they have removed their snack from the oven and forgetten to turn it off. It toasts, bakes and warms but it does not Broil. This is an improvement because the broil function of the older model often sparked and flashed when cooking. It never caught fire but the new one is definitely safer. It did not come with any cooking trays or pans but it holds an 8" cake pan or...
...

electicalguy says "The Euro-Pro Convection Toaster bites the big one! GARBAGE!" about Euro-Pro convection oven & toaster

I bought the Euro-Pro Toaster/Convection oven last night. After cleaning and "Burning in" the oven, I used it to toast some garlic bread. The bread was fresh when I bought it, the same day I bought the Euro-Pro. The oven turned my fresh bread into brick, almost toasted though.

I am returning the oven today because:

1. Conforms to standard UL 1026 only.( I should have noticed that when I was buying it)

2. Does not toast without making the bread dry as a popcorn fart.

3. Toaster timer setting is the same as oven timer. (Toast and oven timer not independent)

4. Does not shut off when door is opened

5. Exterior gets too hot for my comfort, safety wise. Fire hazard!!!

6. Leakage voltage measured 50.4VAC case to ground. (Yes my power outlets are wired correctly)

This is a pricey piece of garbage.
...

learnfromthebest says "This is the one to get for saving time" about Hamilton Beach Toaster Oven / toaster

I was skeptical at first, since prior toaster ovens did not meet my expectations. The toast was always burning and it did not seem to get to the temperature that i needed it to. Ithey were very hard to clean. This one takes the cake. When using the toaster, which can handle 4 slices at a time made my toast nice and even compared to others. The oven part of it is great with the built in timer and temperature control and automatic shut off. easy to clean also. This is easy for my kids and husband to use. The one Ihave has a black and chrome exterior which matches my kitchen appliances perfectly. My kids enjoy coming home from school and popping in either a slice of pizza or some bagel bites even a soft pretzel, whatever floats their boat at the time. I have no worries when they are using it, it is safe for them to use. i have seen it retail for about $110.00. In my opinion it is a great investment and will last a long time.
...
