CherylandPeaches says "Family Friendly Fridge" about LG USC 27931SW

White LG Side By Side Refrigerator

This was our first major appliance purchase over $1,000.00. We purchased the LG from Fry's Electronics and they did a very fine job installing the unit and setting up the icemaker which they did for free (we needed to purchase extra waterline for the job) as well as the free delivery we received out of the general delivery area. The LG unit has many advantages which led us to choose this particular model:

Here are the Pro's:

We've Had Ours About 1 Year Without Incident - 1 Year Warranty

Large capacity - over 25 cf of storage

Ice Maker With Water Filtering (great for folks on a well - which we are), Ice Cubes or Just Water If You Like.

Good Large Refrigerator (for small long kitchens like ours)

Easy Clean & Pull out Drawers

Easy Clean Painted Exterior (use only non-abrasive products)

Adjustable Tilt/Leveling (excellent for older homes with "less than level flooring")

Water & Ice Lockout (great for people with spunky 3 year olds like ours)

...

mliber says "Peice of garbage..." about Kenmore Refrigerator - Elite Side by Side

This refrigerator is a peice of crap. I spent a lot of money and wanted the best, instead I got a peice of garbage. The cabinet after owning this model a year and half is cracking due to a known defect from construction by the manufacturer. Sears has a system that they have developed to fix it. They send you a box with a white sheet of plastic in it aong with another box with loctite epoxy. They expect to glue it on and this is their cheap quick fix. I have spent days fighting with them over the phone after I had purchased a warranty for this item. I was told by a service person that this is a know defect for this model. Other than that this refrigerator has been a service nightmare. I will be in small claims court with Sears tomorrow.
...

ginabranch says "This is the very best refrigerator I can imagine" about LG Refrigerator with botton freezer

I love the botttom drawer freezer is is easy to get to and easy to see what you have stored because of the shelves. The inside is easy to clean with the glass shelves. The vegetable storage bin keeps vegetables fresh longer and the meat drawer is a wonderful addition with the tempeture control.

I love the ice maker and the water dispenser. It;s always ready and so far has not stopped up.

I would recommend this product to anyone who is thinking of gettin a new refrigerator-freezer. It looks good too with it;s 3 door (including the bottom drawer) and is so easy to keep the stainless steel clean....

I bought the L.G refrigerator from sears last december for $1229.00 on sale. I looked at many other refigerators and the others were either too small, too big, too ugly, the wrong color, the wrong style, too expensive, or used too much energy. The Lg model LSC27910tt was perfect for me. It had the appearance and functions i was looking for in a new refigerator and it didn't use a whole lot of electricity which was very important too me. I paid cash and got free delivery. It is a stainless steel appearance and is very sleek and streamlined looking. It is a side by side, two-door refrigerator with an automatic Ice-maker and water filter and dispenser. It has three drawers on the inside along with additional shelving and also shelves in the door. Therwe is plenty of room too store everything i need in there. The freezer side also has plenty of room and is very well organized. The tempurature settings are very easy too use and i am very happy with this product.
...

fee323 says "Love the Maytag Wide By Side because I can store big platters!" about Maytag Wide by Side

I originally bought a Maytag Wide By Side refrigerator in 2006 when I redid my entire kitchen. I had researched a lot of refrigerators and knew that I wanted a sleek-looking stainless steel side by side. When I saw the Wide by Side, I was hooked! I entertain a lot and always had the problem of storing my large platters in the refrigerator. But with the Wide By Side, both the refrigerator and the freezer have sections that are wider than the traditional side by side. With this product, I can put my platters in the refrigerator and large pizzas in the freezer!

My business required me to move 3 hours north and I had to move out of the house mentioned above (although I still own it and am renting it out. The renters love the Wide by Side!) I built a new home (my dream home) and still bought a Maytag Wide By Side! I can't imagine living without it! It not only is practical for storing, but it performs great. I have never had any problems with it.

I can't recommend it...
...

tresa46 says "GE Profile-Artic freezer door pops open when fridge closes " about GE Profile Refrigerator

We purchased the GE Profile because of its large capacity and interior design for our new home which was built with custom cabinets which left a space specifically for the GE Profile. We immediately found that we had to put one hand on the freezer door to keep it from popping open when we closed the fridge door. We bought the GE in 1991 which lasted to 2004 (13 yrs). We replaced it with the same Profile "Artic" and found the same problem with the freezer door. We pointed the problem out to the retailer who was unaware of any such complaint.

Because of the limits imposed by our built-in cabinets and being good GE customers, we, decided to stick with the Profile and apply the bandaid fix, namely, holding the freezer door shut when closing the fridge door. First time, shame on GE for making a mediocre quality product. Second time, shame on us for purchasing a poorly designed refrigerator. Because of the poorly designed freezer door and mediocre quality of the refrigerator,...
...

We purchased a maytag bottom freezer and dishwasher only 3 years ago within two weeks both died. Both are having to be trashed and we paid more for maytag because we hoped the quality would be better. Not so. Now the freezer and refridge will not cool. thankfully we have a freezer in the garage but from the beginning hd to have repair man come out ..the bottom freezer wont close right... the make it hard to clean coils (prob so it iwll go out in 3 yrs and they think your dumb enough to buy another maytag??) I had always heard they were crap now I can join the club. Maybe its because the maytag man represents the quality... who ever designed this machine inside and out was spending too much time sitting on their hiney and eating bon bons I guess.
...

I bought this GE french door refrigerator in replacement of an old broken down side-by-side fridge and have been using it for over 2 months now. It looks really attractive and sophisicated inside and out, but as time passed I've noticed several functionality that is lacking in performance and convienence:

1) The french door style is nice, however there's not really much of a door closing mechanism that aid in closing the doors gently. The doors tend to stay open, so it takes some effort to close which may become annoying to some. Although there is a nice mechanism feature that beeps and let you know your doors are not closed properly after 30 seconds.

2) The special "wide-platter" drawer's lift up flap does not open at all if both doors are not fully open. I like to keep my meats in there and they aren't always excessively a large platter, so I find it rather of a hassle having to open both doors and that it defeats the purpose of the energy-saving french door design. Certainly...
...

I purchased a Kenmore Elite Refrigerator in Nov., 2007 and have had 3 service calls on it. First, the freezer quit. I got that fixed. Then the ice maker quit. I got that fixed. Then the whole thing quit. I got that fixed. Now, one of the shelves on top that slides in and out will not stay in place. One little touch, and the shelf slides out of the bracket and falls down, spilling whatever you have on the shelf. I am not at all happy with this refrigerator. And if I have to purchase a new one, I will not buy a Kenmore (or LG, because that is the company that made the Kenmore).
...

This fridge is awesome!!! We replaced a side by side with this model & LOVE IT!!! I think one of our favorite features is being able to open both doors & put those extra wide or long things in. I love the super large drawer in the bottom & the 2 other drawers. I love the ability to move the shelves around as needed. I also appreciate that it will beep if the door/s are left open or ajar. Which with 3 young children this comes in handy!!

I don't "love" the fact that my 3 1/2 year old & 2 year old can open the freezer & get the ice cream out - but that has nothing to do with the fridge - that's just a kid thing!! :)
...

This was a sears purchase that I have regretted. I loved it at first and then slowly I have lost all respect for Kenmore

The frige part works great. But that's all that's good. And the ice machine works pefectly.

The shelves in the doors are part plastic and part metal. The metal bends and the plastic comes out. So when you open the freezer door the shelve will come off and things are thrown at you. No, we don't stuff it. With everyday use it happened. When I called to complain they said I can buy replacement hinges. Well I did. Stupid me. Still bends. I super glued it so the plastic will stay.

The deli drawer completely came off. The metal became rusted and just fell off. This can not be repair.

We bought this new at the store. Was not a happy camper. This was the worst purchase I've ever made and I will never buy anything from Kenmore. I thought Sears was better than this but I guess not.
...

DafneeDeFrias says "Worst buy ever!" about Kenmore Elite Trio

Let me say that it was love at first sight, until I had to replace the motor (generator) and the motor fan at two different occasions. Plus my deli drawer already broke. My veggies get frozen, and no matter how much I try to set the temperature it is never right!

My freezer drawer can hardly be opened, because there is always ice on the rails, and when you finally get it open some ice cubes fall on the floor.

I'm not sure why the light of the refrigerator is always hot, and the side of one of the doors.

I bought my Kenmore at Sears in Miami, Fl. I live in Dominican Republic so I shipped it to my country hoping that it wouldn't give us any trouble at all! So I had no guarantees at all! I had to fix it using local services, hopefully I was able to get some of the parts, but I had to throw away a lot for good foods every time I had problems with it.

So far not a very good choice!

First, the refrigerator is stunning in apperance. It has clean lines, and the lack of an in door water/ice dispensor adds a high quality appearance. This also allows for more storage space on the interior, which is huge. The doors provide room for 4 gallons of milk (if you squeeze them in). The shelving is well positioned and provides a ton of storage space. The crisper drawers are very spacious. The slide out deli tray is great and allows for separate temperature control. On the left hand side of the interior, there is the easy fill water system. It works great and provides clean, cold filtered water. I don't have a need to use ice because it is plenty cold. You do have to make sure to catch the one drip once you release the button, but otherwise we have not experienced any leaking. One other plus is that it is out of reach for smaller children.

The temperature controls are at the top (out of reach of little children) and provide a simple digital read out of a number...
...

When my old built in refrigerator bit the dust I thought I'd never find one to fit the alloted space in my kitchen. After much searching, I lucked out with another built-in one. I was very unhappy after installation to find that it would not freeze ice or keep other things like ice cream frozen. I complained to the dealer from whom I bought it. He sent workmen twice who failed to improve the situation. One of them even told me the ice cream would not stay frozen because I was buying a cheap variety. I called the Kitcen Aid company directly and told them this. They said they'd replace it at their expense. I asked if another dealer could install it, and they readily agreed. A new one arrived and was installed promptly. It has worked well for two years, and I'm very happy with it. I accept that any company can make a defective product, and this one is willing to admit it and make the matter right. I would recommend Kitchen Aid to anyone and would readily buy another...
...

futuremrsE says "Lots of space" about LG LFX25971 (24.7 cu. ft.) Bottom Freezer French Door Refrigerator

A french door fridge gave us so much more space in both the fridge and the freezer. The through the door ice and water dispenser is also a great help and saves us money since we are not constantly opening and closing the refrigerator door to get water. And there is a light on the dispenser that you can keep on, which is helpful when you get up to get a glass of water in the middle of the night. Or you can turn the light off and just have it turn on when you are using the water / ice dispenser. the adjustable shelves help us adjust for the size we need, whether it be a stock pot full of soup or a whole roasted turkey. The freezer is incredibly spacious, we can store more frozen goods than we can imagine with a top freezer. It is like having a seperate freezer entirely. And it even includes a seperate shelf in the freezer for things like ice packs. I was not enthused about getting a french door freezer until I actually started to use this one!
...

kabill says "Food in Fridge Freeze!!!!" about GE Profile Refrigerator

I purchased this side-by-side after my old GE side-by-side refrigerator broke down. I was so happy with my old GE side-by-side that I decided I had to have another. My old GE had so much space, the ice dispenser was wonderful, and the fridge was very quiet. The first night I could hear this strange sound from the fridge. It was quiet but high pitched and annoying. I did forget about the sound after awhile and not annoying anymore. Soon after, I noticed my fruit and vegetables were frozen. Obviously when the service peole came over there was no problem. Milk is hot on the top shelf because the lights so hot which is directly above the top shelf. The light is huge and can't put 2 liter bottles where the huge light is. The shelves pull out; this is stupid because the food in the back fall off the back when you pull the shelves out!!!! I have owned this fridge for 1 1/2 years and going to bring it to my lake cottage because I can't live with it anymore. Oh, one more thing. ...
...

ReeseW says "Nothing fancy, but practical." about GE TBX16SIBNRWW

When I first moved into my apartment I had some trouble with the refridgerator ~ i.e, it was at first just warm in there, so I adjusted the temperature and my lettuce froze. Finally I worked it out, and I haven't had to mess with it since then. Since I do live in a cheap college apartment, I'm thinking the refridgerator was probably rather inexpensive. It is the ideal refridgerator; it cools foods, it freezes foods, it makes ice cubes. No, it doens't do back flips and make mixed drinks, but if you need to cool and freeze food like a normal person, this is great. Now if you have splendid amounts of cash and think you can't live without shaved ice, go get something else, but for all practical reasons, this is a good refridgerator. If anything is wrong with it, I'd say that the freezer is a bit too small. I live with three other girls and we have to fight over freezer space, but that's not much to complain about. On the whole, I like it.
...
