Kenmore is the only brand we will buy. It is trustworth and we always know we are getting a dependable product. I have no worries when I have a Kenmore in my house. It is important to me to have something that is of high quality and for a good price. I love knowing that I have no worries where there is a Kenmore product in my house. My family has been buying Kenmore for years and this refrigerator is awesome! It has always been a very dependable product and we use our refrigerator a lot. Opening and closing it, ice-maker, we love it! It is easy to clean and since we do not use the freezer too often it is nice having it on the bottom. It pulls out easily, so it is nice not having to pull with all of your strength. I love the stainless steel look. I do not like white appliances because they get dirty easily, black would not go with our kitchen and we do not like the almond color appliances. The stainless steel is really nice and easy to clean.
...

jkestes says "I love, love, love my fridge!" about Maytag MBF2262HEW

This refrigerator is one of the best purchases I have ever made. I've gone through a lot of mid-level or cheap fridges in my life, and I wanted this refrigerator for over a year. I love to cook and I have a very large family, so I dreamed about owning this refrigerator for a long time - but couldn't come near affording it.

We had a flood in our kitchen due to a broken pipe, and needed to have the kitchen almost gutted. We cut corners by doing some of the work ourselves and my husband gave me the money we saved so I could get this refrigerator.

I love the bottom freezer. It is much easier to keep it organized compared to a top freezer. Of course, having the fridge up higher is a huge plus - like I said, we have a big family and bending down to the bottom of a fridge is no fun when you are 9 months pregnant! (the bottom freezer is easier to get into than the bottom of a fridge)

The glass shelves are easy to clean and many of them are adjustable. The fridge is well lit and...
...

Antosha says "LG is not reliable for their refrigerators." about LG LFC25770ST

As much as I liked a similar GE Profle model with LED lights, I couldn't justify spending $800 to buy LED lights (the primary if not the only distinction between this model and the GE). I specifically wanted this model because it does not have the door ice/water dispenser, which seems to be especially prone to freezing and other issues across all brands of French Door/Bottom Freezer fridges on the market.

This fridge is huge, as others have stated, both inside and outside. I bought it knowing it would never fit where the old fridge was--eventually, we will build a kitchen around this fridge. For now, it is great to have digital temperature controls, a very large freezer space, and, as someone who is very tall, it is great to be able to see inside the fridge without bending over.

The door pockets are very deep--enough so to hold a gallon of milk in either the left or the right door. The shelves slide out. There's 4 vegetable drawers and the fridge came with a "bonus plastic shoe box" as...
...

ronhughes475 says "My LG french door has turned out to be a smoking pile of junk" about LG Refrigerator

We purchased an LG french door in 2007 for all the reasons that it got good reviews and now hate it for all the reasons plus a couple that it got bad reviews.

First off, the ice-maker is too small to keep up with summer ice usage. Secondly, the ice-maker failed within weeks, was replaced and failed again a few weeks later. At that point we just purchased a separate ice machine.

Third, everyone of the drawers is now broken in some way. The construction is poor and the components are cheap.

Fourth and most aggregating of all - we must use a hair dyer to thaw the freezer fan twice a week or the noise is deafening and the the refrigerator eventually quits working all together.

This appliance is clearly a poorly designed and poorly constructed machine. Neither Lg nor Home Depot were willing stand behind their product and do the right thing for us. So, needless to say I no longer do business with either company.

Soon I will be purchasing a new frig from some other manufacturer and...
...

lourendon says "The Kitchen Aid KTRC22E has worked well for the last four years." about KitchenAid KTRC22EMBL01

We have owned the Kitchen Aid KTRC22EM refrigerator for four years and it has worked well during that time. It is an Energystar model that costs 48 dollars per year to run, according to the calculation on the energystar.gov website. This compares very favorably to similar newer models, which the website indicates cost 42 dollars a year to run.

The savings associated with Energystar qualified refrigerators can mean real savings if you own an older, inefficient refrigerator. The energystar.gov website features a handy guide where you can research a new Energystar qualified refrigerator and recycle your old model. With the empasis on energy efficiency, technology advances quickly, so I will be checking to see how the KTRC22EM compares each year.

I do want to mention one annoying feature of this appliance, although it only happens once in awhile. When it reaches the end of a cycle, it makes a loud "pop" that is noticeable mostly at night and can be startling until you get used to...
...

A little over a year, the handles broke off the unit, making it completely worthless. The plastic spacers that attach to the handle cracked into small pieces. LG will not sell you replacements; only complete handles (at over $100 each; you need 3 of them). Our last 'frige gave us trouble free service for over 25 years. This one is 1.5 years old and the most important part of its use is crap. Terrible customer service. They could make a fortune providing replacement parts, as they would break again based on the current design. Can you imagine not being able to replace a broken piece of an essentially new unit.
...

After the one year warranty ran out, the ice maker on our Whirlpool Conquest stopped working - - maybe because the trap door for the ice broke off!! We are a 2-member household so it's not like we over used the ice trap door. A little later the water spigot started to drip and we have to have a sponge under the water spout so it doesn't drip on the floor. When we bought this from Lowes, it was touted as being a "Super, high-rated 26 cubic foot unit" but we find it has much smaller inside space than our old 1987 GE 25CF Side-by-side that this was to replace. VERY disappointed and if it weren't for the $1,300 we spent, my wife would like to just donate this to one of the charitable groups that exist here in North Texas.
...

NewHomeOwner says "Frost, frost, and more frost!" about Kenmore Elite Trio

We bought the Kenmore Elite Trio model 795.7978 on July 2009 (right after we purchased our home). It was supposed to be the latest and greatest so we paid the high price thinking we were going to be trouble free. So far we have made two calls to service as the freezer (bottom left hand side as you are looking at it) continues to make so much frost and accumulate ice on the rail - this is so unreal.

The first time the repair person came and used a hairdryer to melt the ice and said that should fix it - I could have done that! And NO! It did not fix it. The second time - well the tech has not been to our home yet as they scheduled us all the way to the middle of November, in the meantime, I guess we will have to deal with the frost.

Oh, the vegetable bin is really not that great. Vegetables do not stay fresh and crisp at they say they will. Very disappointed.
...

vickster1044 says "Defect in the manufacturing that can't be fixed. DO NOT BUY." about Kenmore Refrigerator - Elite Side by Side

This model (Sears Kemore Elite Side-by-Side Refrigerator Model #54783801) has two major flaws including a serious manufacturing defect inside the doors that cannot be fixed. We are on our way to having Sears replace this again (this will be the third of this model!). The fridge creates condensation on the outside of the doors that will eventually lead to mold. These refrigerators cannot be repaired if they have this problem. They have to be replaced.

Also, the ice maker has serious issues: ice sprays all over the kitchen when dispensed, even when holding a glass flush against dispenser. We have to mop up after every ice dispensing, and have resorted to just opening the freezer door and scooping it out. Ice also sticks in the dispenser, then melts and then falls all over the floor -- or next time you dispense ice, you get a half glass of water before the ice comes out. A myriad of problems that should not occur with a refrigerator at this price.

BodybuilderForLife says "Not great for cooling beverages - warmer than expected" about Danby DWC620PL-SC (0.7 cu. ft.) Wine Cooler

I received this wine cooler as a gift. Not being a heavy wine drinker, I decided to try using it as a desk side soda fridge. With the included wine racks, the unit easily accomodates 12 cans of soda. If the racks are removed (they simply slide in/out of place) then this can probably accomodate a second 12 pack (I'm guessing). However, I wouldn't recommend doing so as the unit will not get down as cool.

The wine cooler uses a thermal electric cooling technology, rather than a compressor. The advertising makes it sound as though this keeps the unit very quiet, but in fact it sounds just like my mini-tower. There is a large heat sink on the back with what appears to be a 120mm fan adjacent to it. The fan hasn't stopped spinning, because...

The unit doesn't ever achieve the temperature setting I requested: 39^F, which by the way, is the coolest setting it offers. (It is designed for wine, after all.) The manual states that a full cooler (6 bottles) will be able to cool to 39^F but only if the...
...

When my husband and I purchased a Maytag refrigerator from the local Sears outlet we were assured that it was a top quality overstock item. After the third service call in a year we were allowed to trade it in for another Maytag model under the Sears "Lemon" rule. This refrigerator didn't need service until after the first year. Since then the circuit board has been recalled and replaced (at sears expense) and while the service technician was here we had him look at the freezer. We have been manually defrosing it every week or two, and found the defrost switch was bad after a year. We paid $189 to have it replaced. Then the cheap plastic ice bin broke, disabling the ice crusher auger. So now we manually dispense our ice cubes. The front of the freezer door is rusted out around the water and ice despenser because of the poor design allowing water to leak under the spill tray. I will never buy a Maytag refrigerator again!
...

GE 20.2 Cu. Ft. Bottom Freezer Refrigerator, has been a great purchase for my husband and I. We got this refrigerator and freezer combo about 6 months ago when or old refrigerator went out. We got it from Home Depot if you are interested in buying one. The fridge part is very room and holds lots of food. I like that the door shelves are larger so they hold more things, like milk, 2 liter sodas. juice, condiments, butter, etc. Then you have all the shelf space for stuff you have cooked. The freezer part is located at the bottom and opens like its own unit. The freezer is a bit smaller than most freezers, but it gives you so much more fridge room. It has an ice maker in it that also works well. This set up with less freezer room works for us since have a deep freezer in our garage. Plus, I hate always running out of fridge room when we have family get togethers. With this new fridge, this does not happen. It is worth the money.
...

Okiedog Fropper by International Playthings

Have you seen this new riding toy called the Fropper? This is too cool. It kind of reminds me of the "Caterpillar" riding toys that were around decades ago that "inched" their way forward while they went up and down as well but it's even better.

The Fropper has a seat, four legs with wheels and two handle bars. It has a spring load sytem so kids can bounce and ride. The handle bars go forward and back and the seat goes up and down. No pedaling is required.

Features of the Fropper:

-caster wheels that are non-abrasive for riding inside or out (we haven't tested this inside on hardwood floors)

-easy to steer with the dual handle bars and caster wheels

-folds up (amazingly small) for easy storage

-curved seat is raised in the back for balance

-comes already assembled

The frigidaire refrigerator is a great frig for the price. I bought this one about six months ago. I really needed another frig. I have two teens who are always hungry. But I was on a budget, so I really had to find a frig that was sturdy, and hold enough food for us. I already have two portable freezers, so I didn't care about a big freezer. I found this one at Lowe's for around $400.00. I thought it was a good deal. It has glass shelves, which I think are easy to clean. It also has the gallon door bottom shelves. These are great for milk, water bottles, and soft drinks. The crispers are also big, and there is a separate pull out drawer for eggs, butter , etc. The refrigerator stays just cold enough, I haven't had any problems with it. I hope it will last fifteen years, like my white westinghouse refrigerator did. The freezer part is fairly large. Mine did not come with an icemaker. But there are two shelves, and side door shelves to. ...
...

littlebits516 says "Maytag Freezer on bottom refrigerator-Superb to all others" about Maytag Refridgerator/freezer

If you have never owned a refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom, you are living in the dark ages. It only makes sense, since you use your freezer less than your fridge, that you don't want to be bending down more than you have to. When you open up a fridge that's on the top, it's at eyes view. What more could you ask for. We have one that has a freezer that pulls out and that's another plus because you never have to worry about things falling out on you. I just love my new freezer. This is the second one I have owned and I will never go back to either having a freezer on the top or a side by side.
...

ptphonehome says "cant get the tempertures worked out on this frigidaire" about Frigidaire frt21il6jw2

we bought this frigidaire about 3 weeks ago. put the temps on normal like the man said after we let it set overnight before putting anything in it. on normal the refrigerator will not get to the right temp. and if you turn the refrigerator temp up, it helps the refrigerator but then the freezer gets so cold that you cant even dip ice cream. you have to wait 24 hours before trying another setting.I have read over the book and it dosent tell you anything more than ive done. the freezer has now been set to almost not on, the refrigerator is set to normal. refrigerator is getting warmer and freezer just stays too hard for ice cream and is icing up even over the controls. i am really getting frustrated over this thing. i will be calling the company tomorrow after the next 24 hours is up. I am not a bit satisfied with this frididaire product. when I was growing up Frigedaire was a household name, and they would really last a long time but with one not even right in the first month, then I have...
...

munchkinminder says "very dissapointed " about LG Refrigerator - LFX25950SB

I was so excited when we purchased our new refridgerator. I love the look but there is not as much space as you think there is. I had much more room in my side by side. To begin with, the Ice maker is in the left door so that elimates all of your inside shelf space in the door except for 1 very small shelf at the very bottom of the door. The doors have to get a good push to close, you can't just swing them shut like other refridgerators. The Ice maker is so cramped that the arm gets buried under cubes so it does not shut off when full. The motor starts making horrible noises like it is going to burn up. When you open the icemaker door inside the fridge to check it out ice cubes go flying all over the kitchen. My cats love that part of it, they start batting them around like hockey pucks. Then the freezer drawer. If you don't keep much in there it is fine, but the more you put in there the more difficult is is to find anything, because everything gets piled on top of everything else....
...

eneidaselina says "I would buy it" about Kenmore Side by Side Refrigerator

I live in an apartment building that gives my family the fridges. So when I go the stores such as best buy or home depot I'm always checking out the fridges adn Kenmore is one brand I would buy. I like the fact that this fridge is big and you can store as much things as you want and have months of food stored in it. I also like the fact I can get clear tasting water that at least taste great and doesn't smell like a rusty iron. This fridge also would be great to have because not only for food but like I mentioned the water content. like my water to taste great. I don't want to be drinking water that is going to make me sick because my building doesn't know how to care for their tenants and concerned about the water they are consuming. Also I always like hugh fridges because a small one does hold much because than you would have to find another place to store food and I want my food to stay fresh and not rot. This fridge is for me and my family. The day when I move to a better place Kenmore...
...
