When we purchased this oven, I thought that it would be great to have the convection part of it, so there would not be the need to heat up the regular oven for baking small things. It turns out that the oven takes longer to heat up and doesn't cook food any faster and definately not as even as the regular oven does.

The microwave part works just fine, I like the controls on it. But as you cook in the microwave it builds up condensation which must be dried as soon as possible or it leaves terrible spots on the inside of the oven. The inside is shiny metal. In the beginning I didn't realize that it was doing that and now there are a few spots that appear to be rusting through the metal. I would not purchase a combination microwave/convection oven again.

Power-level settings of 100%, 90%, and right on down--I am amazed. I think the very-low settings are for drying food; can you imagine being able to do dried foods yourself? Then quick-buttons for nearly everything. It'll take a while to learn all the features but even right out of the box it was just so easy to use! All I wanted was a small simple one that wouldn't take much counterspace and never dreamed it would have all this, not for this price. My old microwave had just given out--after 23 years of daily use--and the one thing I wanted was defrost, that's all. I'd always used the microwave, on defrost, to simmer foods that needs long, slow cooking--with no pot-watching and no chance of burning. You ought to try that! Much better than on the stove--and this does have defrost, of course of course--but so many other settings that will be even better for slow cooking. Then you can choose to defrost meat according to how much the chunk of meat actually weighs, of all things--there's a setting...
...

The Emerson .9 cubic foot microwave is great for small spaces. My new apartment's kitchen has limited counter space and this microwave is a good fit for it.

I was surprised by the actual heating time for the low 700 watts of the microwave. It cooks a frozen entree in the time shown on the directions, without having to add extra time. It warms up leftovers quickly as well.

The control panel buttons are small yet easy to use. The first 6 buttons are quick-use, from 1 to 6 minutes called Express Cook. The start button is in 30 second increments as well, making it very convenient. There is also a kitchen timer, which has come in handy as my range does not have one.

Trying to figure out how to adjust the power levels is a bit challenging and I had to read the manual to learn how to do this. Once you know how to it isn't too hard.

Because the Emerson .9 cubic foot microwave is so compact, don't expect to be able to put a dinner plate in it. It will hold a bowl, a small plate, a paper plate and...
...

Our 12 year old microwave finally died and we had to go out and buy a new one. I hate to say I was heavily influenced by styling - but the Cuisinart CMW-100 stainless steel microwave was just...well...attractive! It has a very pleasing presence on the kitchen counter. It's stainless steel inside as well as out, though, which does serve a practical purpose, making it much easier to clean. The stainless steel also doesn't retain any odors - very nice! While I would have liked to get a convection model, it just wasn't in our budget, so I sought out a microwave with good basic features. The Cuisinart's interior is slightly smaller than our old microwave - but for most microwave chefs, I think it is large enough. It might have a little less power than our old model, too - I've noticed that my instant oatmeal takes about 40 seconds longer to cook. Heating seems to be a little more even than our old model, however. It has special bacon settings, which are what sold my husband on this model! Lastly,...
...

The Frigidaire Professional Series Microwave is great. Even my husband uses it to cook with. It has a sensor cook button that will reheat or cook items perfectly without having to guess how much time to use. It is large and the turntable can handle a casserole dish without complaining. I chose the stainless steel but there is also black or white. It is easy to clean and we have had it for 6 years and have had no problems out of it. I would recommend this microwave to anyone looking to purchase a new one. It was not the most expensive on the market but it does a great job!

GE Spacesaver I would recommend this to anyone who wants a microwave above there

stove. Its small but yet it does everything a full size microwave would do. I would buy

another one just like it if need be. Its easy to take care of and cooks as well as a full size

microwave and yet it doesn't take up space in the kitchen. It has alot of extras also like a

light and exaust fan and also even a defrost that I use often. Most microwaves take up alot of space this one is like it says a spacesaver that goes above the stove and oven

and works as well as a full size microwave it comes highly recommened by me for heating

foods cooking foods and defrosting an item is simple and an easy way if your in a hurry

to cook something. The colors of my microwave are the same as my stove so it fits into

my kitchen decor very good it kinda looks like my stoves oven above the stove. The good and the bad there would be nothing bad about this microwave its a must for any

kitchen in my opinion.
...

Sharp's Carousel Over the Range Microwave is the largest of it's kind. Located behind the oven door (out of sight) is auto touch control panel. The turntable is close to 15" around which I throughly enjoy when keeping family dinner's warm when I am expecting lots of company. It also has a lot of sensor features included in English, Spanish or French...Just in case I hire a cook! Honestly, I've never seen so many options available. It's real important to sit down and read the manual though because you just can't figure out how to use everything unless you do. The reason I know is because I tried and failed a few times. Take time to read the booklet and in a few weeks practice will make perfect! I use it everyday now for defrosting and warming dishes. I was thrilled that I could put a couple dinner plates in at the same time the other day. I never could have done this with prior microwaves. They all were just too small!
...

In today's busy life, microwaves have become an integral part of the kitchen concerning food preparation. In searching for a microwave that would fit the needs of my family, we went shopping at a nearby Sears to see what they had available. At the time (7 years ago), this Kenmore Elite microwave with Ultra Wave Inverter technology was one of the higher end models that didn't have convection capabilities. This technology gave us the choice to use "Sensor Cooking", so at the touch of 1 button we could have our food reheated or cooked according to predetermined times for 8 different options:

Reheat - you can reheat pre-cooked room temperature or refrigerated foods without having to select a cooking time or power level for 3 categories: dinner plate, soup/sauce or casserole.

Potato - you can cook 1 - 4 potatoes, making sure you pierce skin with fork.

Rice - 1/2 c. - 2 cups, placing twice as much liquid in a microwavable dish. Cook instant rice according to package directions.

The Samsung over-the-range microwave oven works great for all your daily needs such as reheating food and cooking frozen vegetables. The Samsung microwave also has many functional options, such as a popcorn and baked potato keypad. However, the durability of the Samsung construction is where this microwave desparately falls short. We purchased this microwave just over one year ago and recently the handle broke off. You may think, "What!" There was no rough use of the microwave. I just simply tried to open the microwave one day and the handle completely broke off into my hand. Upon further inspection I identified the main problem. The handle was attached only by plastic pieces. Obviously any product that has to endure constant tugging in order to use it should be supported by metal, not plastic. We have yet to replace the handle, since Samsung's website only carries one of a different finish color. So, we are forced to open the microwave by inching our fingers underneath where......

Pros: It works great, inexpensive, easy to use/read number pads, great size and power.

Features: Child-safety lock, touch control panel & display, Auto-defrost button.

Cons: It's heavy.

Our microwaves in the past have all been relatively cheap, and none of them have worked as well as our GE. Our food cooks or reheats quickly and evenly, the kids can pop popcorn with no problems- kernels are always all popped. I can defrost burger, chicken or pork chops in under 5 minutes, "bake" a potato in 6-7 minutes and heat up a bowl of soup or a vegetable as a side for dinner in under a minute. Those are quick, convenient times to get dinner, lunch or even breakfast on the table fast.

The size is perfect for our counter top. It doesn't take up a lot of space and fits perfectly. It's easy to clean or wipe up spills and splatters, thanks to the wide opening.

I looked everywhere for a microwave that was small, had the color I wanted and at the price I was looking for. I found it at Walmart. I was so glad when it arrived because it met all of my expectations completely and I love it. It's perfect if you want something that will blend into your kitchen, without being big and bulky and I love the stainless steel look. It took us a few times to figure out how the little lever works to open the door because if you don't push it in the right spot it doesn't completely open, but after a day, we had no problem getting the door open. I'm glad I found it. Easy to clean inside & out. It does make a faint ticking noise but the instruction booklet says that is normal. It doesn't take up too much space and does what it needs to. Not necessarily the microwave you'd want if you're planning on cooking a turkey, but for everyday micro meals & pop corn, it's great! This beautiful little microwave works perfectly every time!
...

I was in the mood for a new microwave, but didn't necessarily want something large because I do not use them for cooking. I have had large above the stove, under the counter, and counter top, but always felt they were a waste of energy because I only heat a cup of water, heat something up, or make microwave popcorn.

The Sunbeam 700 Watt Microwave oven was available in Black or White and I chose Black. Takes up much less space than the old bulky one we had before.

For being so small this microwave still has alot of features. Has digital readout, clock, quick cook buttons, different power levels, cook by weight, or defrost. Has a turntable that rotates around, but also turns back and forth.

Runs quite, which is a big plus to me considering some larger models tend to be heard from another room.

This microwave would be a great gift for someone single, a student in college, someone just getting started or an older person moving to a smaller place.

I love this microwave and feel it was well...
...

sunninjim says "GE MICROWAVE OVEN WITH TURNTABLE IS OUTSTANDING" about GE Microwave - Turntable

This GE MICROWAVE OVER WITH TURNTABLE IN BLACK is as nice in design as it is in performance! Not to mention price! When My GE over the oven microwave went suddenly I was without a microwave and that just wasn't going to fly in my home. Since GE was good before and I could ill afford to replace it at the moment decided a contertop model of the same style would fit the bill. Being on a tight budget I priced all different makes and models before settling on this one. Hubby would never even consider a microwave without a 30 second add on for rewarming his coffee so that is one feature I had to have! And GE was the ONLY microwave to include this feature. At under $60 it was a true bargain at Walmart. I even love the baked potato feature and the popcorn feature and the turntable. If you have a couple just starting out or a college bound child this is a wonderful item that will get plenty of use, is well worth the price and you will definately get your money out of it. Definately 5 Stars!
...

dolphin9600 says "Large microwave with many options." about Panasonic Inverter microwave 1250 Watt

I love to cook from scratch, but sometimes I am in a hurry and don't have time to make a homemade meal. That is why I love our Panasonic Inverter 1250 watt microwave oven. It has a turntable and is large enough for a whole chicken. I have 10 power levels which also includes defrost, a sensor reheat option and an option to keep your food warm. This microwave is simple to operate even my children, ages 13 and 9 use it. I love that it has a built in timer. I use this feature a lot when I am baking two things at once in my regular oven, I have two times being used at once-one of them being the microwave timer! This microwave is easy to clean-I highly recommend a plate cover to use over your food as you are microwaving something, that way it is even easier to clean. If something should splatter throughout your microwave though, put some water in a bowl and microwave it on high for three minutes. Let it sit in the microwave with the door closed for two minutes while the steam loosens all the...
...

When I bought my home, all of the installed kitchen appliances were brand-new, so I didn't pick out the LG Microwave I have, but whoever did has good taste! The contractor that refurnished my home before I bought it, installed all stainless steel appliances. They are a pain when it comes to fingerprints, but they look really nice.

My LG Microwave is very sleek and stylish. The exterior is all stainless steel except for the buttons and the window. I like this microwave because it is very easy to use. There are more buttons than I actually need, but I still love it. Of all the buttons, my favorites are: popcorn, ez-on and "hot water". The ez-on instantly heats your food for 30 seconds. If you want your food heated for a minute, just press "ez-on" twice. The hot water button is great for when I make tea. I just put my mug of water in the microwave and press "hot water" and I have a mug of perfectly heated water.

Since owning this LG Microwave, I haven't encountered a single...
...
