cpanyard says "great for the price" about NuTone range hood - Economy RL6200

Great hood for a reasonabe price.................................................................................... 2 speed fan, single light, and 3 colors. No exterior vent needed. Easy to install! Less than $40.00 out the door. The only bad thing is there is no outlet. The exterior paint is a little thin, scraped side up installing it. Doesn't show, but another coat wouldn't have hurt. I would recommond this for a easy install and reasonble price. You can get the other ones but they all are not vented in Nutone and If you don't need the outside vent ................................................... it works great. This is easy to install and wiring is a snap. A few basic tools is all that i need: screw driver, electric drill, bits, and black to black, white to white for wiring this is easy follow the diagram and instructions. It took just about 30 min for start to finish and we were done.
...

ruthmim says "This range hood provides 2 great levels of light and fan." about Broan-NuTone Under Cabinet Range Hood QS1 Series - Allure I

Until last winter, I'd only ever had the cheapest, most basic model of range hoods. So when the old hood conked out, I took it as an opportunity to upgrade to a quieter, more effective range hood -- the Broan Allure I does the trick without breaking the budget.

The Allure line of Broan range hoods are sleeker and more modern in appearance than their older counterparts. Under the hood, you can see and feel a big difference -- the fan is so powerful, you can feel the air moving, and the grease filters cover the entire underside of the hood.

Two fan speeds both help keep the smoke alarm from going off! The lower speed is effective, yet you can hardly hear it running. The higher speed provides tremendous power without airplane-level decibels.

The other tremendous plus to this hood is the lighting it offers. Two bright bulbs were delivered with my unit, and there are two options -- bright and blowout! I was told that these are special bulbs, so I expect only to find replacements at my appliance...
...

shigadeyo says "Decent hood, but get the Whirlpool GZ8330XL instead..." about Whirlpool Range Hood Filter - Stainless Steel (RH4830XLS)

This range hood was purchased to compliment my new stainless steel KitchenAid range (the KitchenAid stainless steel range hoods are overly large and very expensive). Other reasons for purchase include the variable speed fan that can go from off to high and everywhere in between (rather than just being a 2 or 3 speed), appearance (stainless steel and black to match my other appliances), relatively low profile (7" in height), and price point. My biggest complaint is that this range hood has a regular axial fan rather than a centrifugal blower (much quieter and better airflow), but the Whirlpool model with the centrifugal blower was 9" in height which is far too much (7" is already a bit too low in my kitchen as the old GE one being replaced was only 5"). Luckily the fan in this hood is relatively quiet compared to the old range hood which is a step in the right direction. This hood also has a removeable screen/filter that is dishwasher safe and a bright lighting system that takes two 40-watt......

Cat says "Go Ahead - Saute' Fish. It's Okay..." about Dacor hood - MHD-3618

One of the main things that caused my husband and I to remodel our kitchen was our cooktop. Not just the cooktop itself, but the specific configuration of said cooking setup. We had a downdraft gas cooktop. Downdraft ventilation is fine - for electric cooktops. But for gas cooktops, it's a different matter. Whenever we cooked and had to use the vent, the air going down the center downdraft vent would actually pull the flame from the burners, resulting in lower heat output and uneven heating. In a sentence: downdraft gas cooktops are pretty much doomed.

So we set about getting a real ventilation hood installed with our new cooktop. First we had to get our cabinets bumped up and then we had to get an HVAC contractor to install the ductwork. It was pricey, but the results helped our low-end kitchen become a more high-end kitchen so we figured it was worth it. My husband, the chef in our family, had free reign over anything fire-related in our remodel. He chose the Dacor MHD-3618 hood to go......

LaurieM says "An effective and modern looking range hood from Kenmore" about Kenmore Black 30 in. Convertible Range Hood Model #52059

Well, we purchased a new Kenmore Black Gas Range and we certainly couldn't just use our old yellowy looking range hood now could we? It's like a domino effect. While we were purchasing the gas range, we picked out the Kenmore Black 30 in. Convertible Range Hood Model #52059. We purchased the hood for $113.99 about three years ago and we have not had any problems with it to date.

The Range Hood

According to the manufacturer, the patented air chamber design with axial blower reduces noise up to 40% over conventional hoods. There is an adjustable, rotary speed control. The larger filter area efficiently captures steam and odors. The dual 40 watt lamps increase light distribution, and the night-light feature adds safety. 200 CFM, 4.5 sones (vertical discharge).

Rotary speed control and axial blower offers quiet fan operation

Washable, aluminum mesh grease filter included

Keyhole mounting slots for easy installation

Includes 7 in. and 3-1/4 x 10 in. duct connector with backdraft damper

...
