Homemade desserts are so easy to make with the ICE-20 Cuisinart Frozen yogurt/Sorbet/Ice Cream Maker! I love the fact that I can control what goes into the food my faily eats- pure fruit, cream, and homemade goodness!

The freezer bowl is very convenient- stick it in the deep freeze the night before you want to make dessert and the next day it is ready to go. And, It is really easy to clean after the family has cleaned out the bowl. The Ingredient spout makes it easy to add chocolate chips, nuts, fruits, peanut butter, toffee chips, vanilla, whatever you want to add- and you can see it thru the transparent lid, so you know just how much is enough. It finishes up in about 20-30 minutes and has easy to take apart parts for easy washing.

The base has rubber feet so it stays quieter on the counter, and the base also has a built in empty spot underneath to tuck up the cord- instant cord storage.
...

shegirl says "Love the CuisinArt Ice Cream Maker Ice 20" about CuisinArt Ice Cream Maker - ICE 20

My boyfriend makes ice cream in the CuisinArt Ice Cream Maker all of the time. It is a quick and easy way to make homemade ice cream. He has a great recipe that also makes it low fat and low in sugar, but it tastes awesome. It reminds of being a kid when Mom and Dad would have homemade ice cream on special family get togethers. But, with the CuisinArt Ice Cream Maker, you don't have to wait for a special occasion, it is so easy that you can have it anytime.

Making your own ice cream is great because you can control what you put in it. So, if you love ice cream but want to control the fat or sugar, the CuisinArt Ice Cream Maker is a convenient and easy way to make the ice cream you love.

The CuisinArt Ice Cream Maker does not require ice and salt like the old fashioned ice cream makers. You can just keep the container in the freezer so it is ready when you are ready to make homemade ice cream. It only takes about 20 to 30 minutes for the ice cream to be ready to eat.

I was given this as a birthday present last year. I specifically asked for it and was sorely disappointed after getting to use it. I know it was expensive and honestly feel terrible for asking for it. I would never recommend this product to anyone for any reason. I am completely satisfied with my Kitchen Aid mixer but this was a let down. In order to use it you have to put the bowl in the freezer at least 24 hours before you plan on using it. I, for one, usually decide to make desserts on a whim and that is not possible with this item. So after you have frozen this bowl (which is quite large on it's own) you attach it to your mixer and use it as per the instructions. It is honestly easy to use and operate but bulky. After the ice cream is mixed it is supposed to be put back in the freezer to solidify some more but it doesn't ever really. The "ice cream" is runny and loose, not like any ice cream I've ever made before. The flavor of the ice cream was good but it was just the texture. I...
...

I recieved and cuisiant yogurt-ice cream & sorbet maker for my birthday and love it. It has to be the easiest way to make ice cream and its just enough. Sometimes I would buy ice cream at the store and get tired of it before we were done with the gallon. This way you have enough for two times of dessert. The recipes in the book are great .I like the basic vanilla and i have added butter fingers chips or really any candy bar you like.My mother in law had givin me a recipe for sherbet .Orange flavor and it made it just fine. I love ,love this machine.
...

I asked my husband to buy this machine for me for Christmas instead of jewelry, and have no regrets! I love all the sorbets, ice milks and ice creams that we can make. It is simple to use, and the results taste great!

My only complaint is how loud the machine is. I can't really let the machine run while we are having dinner unless I put the ice cream maker far away from the kitchen and dining room. But other than that inconvenience, I can't complain.

I would agree with the other reviewers -- use cold ingredients, and start your ice cream as soon as you take the bowl out of the freezer. I let my bowl freeze for at least two days before using it. I put it in a plastic bag, and then put a zip-loc bag of ice in the container just to be sure.

I have a hard time using all of the egg yolks and heavy cream to make true "ice cream" (although a splurge once in awhile isn't a bad thing!). I try to stick to the lower fat recipes. You can find endless recipes and ideas on the internet. I must admit...
...

We purchased this ice cream maker about six months ago and we LOVE it! We have made chocolate ice cream, peach ice cream, blueberry icecream, and mocha/chocolate chunk ice cream to name a few!

We purchased this as an impulse buy at Sam's Club. I usually read reviews before making a purchase like this, but it was a great buy, we had the money, and I trusted the Cuisenaire brand. When I got home, I looked up some reviews and got nervous after reading many reviews which claimed that the ice cream wouldn't get thick enough. Fortunately, there were also many reviews describing what to do to get the ice cream just right!

Here our our secrets to sucess: First, make your mix an hour or so ahead of time. I usually mix everything in a ziplock bag, press out the air, and place it in the fridge. Maybe 30 minutes or so before making the ice cream I lay the bag flat in the freezer. I'm not looking to freeze the bag solid, but to get it VERY cold. If it freezes a bit around the edges...
...

There is no cranking or stirring and no ice or salt required. This is low maintenance ladies. Even cleaning the machine is simple. (But Jackson still had fun "making" the ice cream by measuring and mixing up the ingredients and pouring it in the machine. For his short attention span, he sure thought he worked hard for his ice cream.)

And if you want to make it more elaborate, it comes with a recipe booklet full of gourmet ice cream and sorbet recipes. You will shock your summer guests with your elaborate creations like Pineapple sorbet with Creme Brulee flavour, Kiwi and fresh mint sorbet, or Sorbet of fresh and dried figs in brandy. You can be as fancy or as simple as you want - and it will do all the heavy work for you. (We made good old fashioned vanilla ice cream for our first run.)

This is the final step in making homemade ice cream. We made ice cream -opeach and the initial prep steps are outlined there. Also see the cute pictures when the boys whip cream near the end....
...

I received my Cuisinart ICE-45 Mix It In Soft Serve Ice Cream Maker as a gift and I cannot say enough good things about how easy it is to make up to 1 1/2 quarts of ice cream by just selecting a favorite ice cream recipe, turning the dial and adding the ingredients needed to make you favorite treats. The unit is quite and I love the see through toppings holdres which accommodates three different toppings. This particular model also comes in a variety of colors and includes a 3-year warranty.

What I truly enjoy is that you can mix in sprinkles, chips, crushed candy or any other desirable topping as you dispense ice cream. You can dispense ice cream into bowls or into cones to which a handy cone holder is included alongside the dispenser. You also have the option of scooping out your ice cream by just lifting the lid. This helps when making ice cream cakes, which children love. You can also enjoying endless hours of fun at birthdays, and holidays.
...

I received the Kitchenaid Stand Ice Cream Maker Attachment for a wedding gift to go along with my Kitchenaid Mixer. I was very disappointed because of the amount of time you have to freeze both the bowl and the ice cream in the bowl. You don't use rock salt, so really all it is is a bowl with liquid inside freezes in the freezer. My ice cream that I made was runny and never firmed up the way old fashioned ice cream makers do. I also made sorbet and it did a similar thing. The sorbet turned out better since as long as the mixture was frozen, it turned out OK. It was also extremely expensive and I would not have ever bought it if I hadn't gotten it as a gift and registered for it. The only thing I did like about this product was that it takes up less space than most other ice cream makers I have seen in the past. Still, you have to put and keep everything in the freezer of which I don't have room for.

mmc768 says "Easy to use" about Rival GC9155

I received the Rival GC9155 Ice cream maker as a birthday present last year. It is very easy to use and the ice cream I've made in it has come out tasting fantastic.

There are a few problems I have with this ice cream maker. The first being that after I'd only used it twice, the seal came away and it has leaked ever since. The seal fits between the 2 bowls that attach together to make one big bowl for mixing the ice cream in. Without the seal in place, the ice cream mixture drips down inside the bottom of the machine.

Another problem is the area where you are supposed to pour the ice cream mix through is way too small and awkwardly placed. Because the ice cream mixture has to be poured in while the machine is already started, the ice cream mixture always ends up dripping down the side and making a bit of a mess.

The last problem is storage of the freezer bowls. They take up quite a bit of freezer space. But they do a good job of freezing the ice cream quickly.

The CuisinArtc Ice Cream Maker is a fun and easy way to make ice cream and you get a great product when done. All the peices fit together and come apart easily, making the CuisinArt Ice Cream Maker easy to use and a piece of cake to clean. The freezer bowl takes a little while to freeze enough to work well, but as long as you think ahead (or store the bowl in the freezer) you'll be fine. The CuisinArt Ice Cream Maker comes with some great receipies for a variety of frozen treats, not just ice cream, and the receipies are great. The receipie book also comes with tips and tricks of how to make some of the ice creams with less fat.

Although the CuisinArt Ice Cream Maker is a uni-tasker and doesn't get used as much as some of my other small appliances, homemade ice cream is a fun, delicious treat and well worth keep the appliance around. I got it as a wedding gift and highly recommned it to others to give as a wedding gift.
...

A friend gave me a Richmond Cedar Works MGF. CORP. Ice Cream Freezer she had collecting dust in her basement. She didn't remember when it had been purchased and thought it had been used less than a dozen times. I have only used it twice so far to make coffee ice cream and chocolate ice cream at an ice cream themed birthday party. It is an electric model which is no longer manufactured (RCW sold to Rival; I think in the early 1980's and Rival now has many of it's own ice cream maker models). It was fairly easy to use though making ice cream with this unit is complex. I had to heat the eggs and cream and other ingredients on the stove first; then cool them in the refrigerator overnight before adding to the ice cream maker. More ice and rock salt had to be added while it was in operation as well. I like that the paddle stops after the ice cream becomes thick (after about 30 minutes); then I removed the can and transferred the first batch of ice cream (which was fairly easy) into a freezer...
...

I bought the Cuisinart Frozen Yogurt - Ice Cream and Sorbet Maker originally to save money. Money for ice cream atthe grocery store just wasn't in the budget. And forget about trips to the Baskin Robbins on the corner!

I soon discovered that what I really love about this ice cream maker is controlling the ingredients. I use fresh fruit and sugar substitutes for delicious ice cream in 20 minutes. I use the recipes included from Cuisinart. There is a wide assortment of recipes for ice cream, frozen yogurts and sorbet. I keep a couple different flavors in the freezer all of the time.

My husband said it was like the quesadilla maker and would be collecting dust after the novelty wore off. He was wrong, I use it all year round at least once a month. More often in the summer.

Only negative thing I have to say is that I need to keep the freezer bowl in the freezer all of the time which takes up valuable freezer space. If you don't keep the bowl frozen, it takes overnight to freeze before making...
...

The kohler ice cream maker is one of the best machines i've purchased in years. It's convenient, easy to use, and stores perfectly if you're washing it and sitting it out or just simply putting it back in the box. The ice cream comes out better than the store bought brands its smooth and creamy. If i can use it anyoune can trust me. its even safe enough for kids usage and if i had to recommend it to anyone i would. The only problem is the ice cream salt... ugh if u use too much or too little it will ruin your ice cream and you'd have to start all over. Although it only takes a matter of minutes to make a cool dessert for an after school snack or a nice smooth homemade ice cream for an a la mode. I love this mahine and i wouldn't give it up for the world if only we could find more machines like this one for simple was to prepare a homemade goodness for my family. Everyone must go out abd get one!! Thanks Kohler for this fantastic machine that my family loves so much.
...

I bougiht this soft serve machine as a fun summer suprise for my kids. We first got it home and did not have the proper ingredients to make soft serve yogurt so we tried peppermint soft serve which was terrible, but not the machines fault!!!

We attempted a vanilla soft serve for the next time. The flavor was good but as before the consistency was not as firm as we like. It melted quickly and was very very soft.

Each time after that we attempted the soft serve we had the same problem with too soft of soft serve. We even left the freezer bowl in the freezer for a week and it made no difference.

The sprinkle and topping dispenser worked just ok. It seemed to clog more than anything. My candy craving children did not like this much either as they wanted MORE Candy for there soft serve sundaes.

When they say "soft" they mean soft.

I have a friend that has a Cuisinart Ice Cream maker with the same freezer bowl and it works great. We love that ice cream and i would recommend...
...

ApriBambino says "My favorite gift of all time for making homemade ice cream" about Cuisinart Cuisinart Ice Cream and Sorbet Maker

Cuisinart Ice Cream and Sorbet Maker

My family knows what a huge ice cream lover I am, so much so that I never come home from a grocery shopping trip without buying a container. Though there are a lot of good brands out there in the marketplace, it gets expensive buying embellished ice cream such as Ben & Jerrys or Haagen Dazs which are not so budget friendly for the most part.

My husband, being a good hint picker-upper gave me the Cuisinart Ice Cream and Sorbet Maker two birthdays ago and I absolutely love it. The thought of having fresh made ice cream anytime you want is so much fun don't you think? I used this all summer long to make fruit sorbets that were cold, delicious and very satisfying on a hot day but give me my ice cream and I'm a happy camper.

This machine is very easy to use, it makes up to 1.5 quarts in approximately 20 minutes, the bowl has double-insulated walls which make for fast even freezing. You need no salt for this to work and it has a mess-free ingredients...
...

kam17 says "Ice Cream Just the Way You Want It" about Cuisinart ICE-20 Automatic Frozen Yogurt 1.5 Quart Ice Cream Maker

With the Cuisinart ICE-20 Automatic Frozen Yogurt/ Ice Cream Maker having frozen desserts just the way you want it is what this appliance is all about. It is incredibly easy to use. The most difficult part of the whole ice cream making process is remembering to chill the vessel ahead of time so you can make dessert on a moment's notice. You don't really have to make ice cream from scratch either. If you like, you can use store-bought yogurt with the addition of your favorite fruits, nuts, chocolate or butterscotch chips or even cookie and candy bar pieces. You simply add the base, which can be cream and sugar or yogurt, stir until thickened, add the flavorings and other ingredients, stir a bit more, and then serve it up. What is especially great about this ice cream maker is that you know exactly what is going in to your dessert. You can make it as healthy as you want, or incredibly rich. The best part is enjoying the fruits of your own creativity.
...

MommyofMaleah says "Delicious ice cream.....FAST!!" about Rival Rival 2 quart ice cream maker

If you'd like fast, delicious ice-cream, then the Rival 2 quart ice cream maker is for you! It is nothing to make a delicious, smooth, cool treat. You can even double the recipe to make more, if you have many people to feed. Just be prepared, though....it takes much longer for the ice cream to freeze. With this ice cream maker, you can create all different types of ice cream. I created some dairy free low calorie ice cream for my daughter who is severely allergic to milk. The ice cream was delicious, and she was so happy that we had made the ice cream ourselves. This ice-cream maker is portable, and you can take it ANYWHERE. I took it to my school, and my class and I made ice-cream together. They all enjoyed it and said it was the BEST ice-cream they'd ever tasted. It was really simple. All it takes is 1 can eagle brand milk, 2 tablespoons vanilla, and 4 cups half and half. That's it!! It took a long time because we doubled it. However, if you don't, it should...
...

greyback says "Works well and produces great icecream!" about CuisinArt Ice Cream Maker - ICE 20

So when my wife said that she'd like to try and make icecream at home, I started researching my options. I was drawn to the CuisinArt ICE 20 as it had some excellent reviews. Now there are bigger and better models of icecream makers out there, but if you are just "playing" around with making ice cream this is the way to go.

Makes an excellent churned icecream with little work, and the cleanup is remarkably easy. You pour in the batter, plug it in, and check on it occasionally. Two things to remember though...one is that you MUST freeze the chiller bowl for at least 4 hours before starting the project. Overnight is better. Second, MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT OVERFILL. Ignore the fill line...less is more in this case as the icecream batter will expand as it freezes. I learned this the hard way.

Cleanup is easy, though I recommend washing this one in the sink rather than risking it in the dishwasher.

Another excellent CuisinArt product!
...
