When we moved into our home here in Michigan, the dishwasher was 6 years old. Well we still have it, as it matches our other applicances They are all Almond Colored. To me it's a nuetral color and still appeals to me. Have only had to replace the springs for the door twice, one on each side. All in all it's be dependable, still cleans my dishes very well. So I am a happy camper! No compliants here. Why replace something that isn't broken, the look is just fine by us. Now when we go to re-do the Kitchen that might be a different story. I just think the newer ones are not made to last, like this one has. It's 21 years old. And still does a heck of a job!...

When we had to replace our dishwasher, we chose the Kenmore Ultra Wash and have not been disappointed. I can load it up and feel confident everything will come out sparkling clean, as well as run it for just a few big things and can expect it to do the same job. We are pleased with the low noise level and there are times I have to go check the lights to make sure that I remembered to push the start button to make sure it is running. The configuration of the racks and baskets have worked out perfectly for me. I especially love the knife basket that takes the sharp knives out of the silverware basket. In the past the sharp knives have, over time, eventually cut through the bottom. I no longer have that happening. I also know exactly where a clean knife is, if I need to take it out of the dishwasher, no searching and running the risk of poking myself. The Kenmore Ultra Wash looks as nice in my kitchen as it works so nicely. The Kenmore Elite has a smart wash cycle that saves both energy and...
...

The top rack had a bottom support bar that rusted with the first year. I called customer service and they sent out a new rack within 3 days. Amazing! And my dishwasher had a warranty on certain parts for 5 years!

The dishwasher is doing the best it can to clean our dishes. Are water is hard and we are pushing it to the limits. I don't rinse the dishes, and the food is usually cleaned off (limitations--cinnamon, tea stains, some dried up peanut butter). Noise is not an issue.

Would buy again!
...

I purchased this dishwasher and it started leaking frigidaire informed me of a faulty gasket and they had a new splash kit 3 weeks later dishwasher was fixed now 9 months later and the same problem again. Now, they will only pay for parts or give me a 50% rebate towards a new dishwasher. Why should I have to purchase another dishwasher in less than two years because they can't get a gasket right it's 2009 get it together it's a basic dishasher part. Plus my Cherry wood cabinets are warped in my home that is also less than 2 years old another cost to me for purchasing a frigidaire. I will NEVER purchase a Frigidaire again.
...

I went to consumer reports and this washer was rated a best buy. I just don't get it. The price was good but my old Maytag had much better features and cleaning power. It is quieter than the old Maytag by but the Maytag never pretended to be a quite washer. This washer is not that quiet. Take one look at it and you know why. NO sound insulation, most of the sound comes right out the front door through the steam hole. Its kind of like a Bose speaker system for dishwasher noise. Weak effort for sound control. It also uses a new propriatry walter hook up. HD, LOWS and BestB did not even carry it. Thank God for Sears, $9.00 later I had the hose fitting. Come on Consumer Reports this is a Hype Partner not a Quiet Partner. Should have got the 225 dollar Kitchen Aide at BB. Then saved for a BOSCH.
...

We bought Bosch Shx46A dish washer 2 years ago. We were very happy because it was very quilt. But it lasted for only month, and then dish washer started to make the noise like a military tank. We called to get it repaired 3 times with in a year. It was very hard to get them on the phone and very reluctant to come. The dish washer never really did a clean job. The repair guy said to me that you needed to wash the dished before you put in the Bosch dish washer!!! Why in the hell is it called a dish washer? I missed my old dish washer (whirl pool, forget the model) in my last house. In comparison, the whirl pool was 10 time better: very clean, very reliable, and half the cost. My bosch dish washer suddenly dead today. Do not waste your money for Bosch!!!
...

I have had my Bosch dishwasher for 2 weeks now and absolutely love it! Its first quality is that it is incredibly quiet. When it is on, all you can hear is a little swishing of water, which is NOTHING compared to how loud my old dishwasher was.

Its second positive quality is that it is very efficient. I can fill it full of really dirty dishes, and within an hour they are perfectly cleaned and 100% dried. I don't know how the dishwasher dries those dishes so quickly, but I love that I can run the dishwasher and unload it again within an hour. My old dishwasher would take forever to dry, and even after it was done with the cycle, most of the dishes would still be wet. This is not the case with the Bosch.

I also love the sanitation cycle. With a baby, I am washing a lot of binkies and toys. I feel like they are getting cleaned really well when I run them through this dishwasher. I would highly recommend this dishwasher to anyone looking to buy one.
...

We purchased Electrolux dishwasher model #EIDW6105GB1 from Lowe's about 9 months ago to replace the builder's dishwasher that came with our new home. We wanted a good quality quiet dishwasher. The dishwasher is very quiet and cleans the dishes well, but if you don't run it every day, the smell nearly knocks you over when you open the door. I never leave food particles or residue on my dishes when I load them, so that's not an issue. We've had the repair guy out who suggested it wasn't draining well and repositioned the drain hose--it's very long. It didn't help. We replaced the hose with a shorter one, and that didn't help. I've even run bleach through a cycle to see if that would help. I regret this purchase, and expected much more from a $900 dishwasher. I plan to contact Lowe's and Electrolux about getting a refund and replacing it with another brand.
...

We purchased a few years ago. There are 4 cycles smart wash, pots pans, normal wash, and quick rinse. The smart wash supposedly saves water, but it seems to take much longer than the normal cycle. It cleans great, I do not need to rinse the dishes first unless they will be sitting for over 8 hours.

The disappointing part is I've had several problems with the door. It's fallen out of alignment twice. Recently I went to open the door and the whole latch system bent and fell out. We put it back in, but it doesn't work well, you have to slam it shut. Now the only time we close it all the way is when we're ready to run it....

Electrolux Model EIDW6305GS0. Quiet, cleans great, but has a serious design flaw...If you don't use it everyday it starts emitting a bad odor. Dishwasher always has water in the the bottom below the filter. This starts smelling after a day or too if it is not used. Repair tech tells me that Electolux engineers suggest runing it in rinse mode daily to eliminate odor. Not very economical or practical for a $1100.00 dishwasher.

Great for large family, but don't buy if you don't wash dishes everyday.
...

When I was looking to buy a dishwasher, I thought they wer all the same. I had just moved from an apartment with an older, basic model and it served it's purpose. I knew I wanted stainless steel, but I wasn't trying to spend too much money. I was looking at another model when the salesman suggested this Frigidaire brand. I am so glad he did! It costs a little more, but is so worth it. First off, it's energy star rated ( always a plus). It has a delayed sertting which is great if you want the dishes to start at a different time. It has a sanitizing rinse which is great for baby bottles and things that you really want to be germ-free. The best parts are that the stainless steel part is the newer kind that is fingerprint resistant and that it makes no noise. You can't even hear it when you are in the same room, so no more turning up the tv when it's running. It is a little more expensive than some of the others, but totally worth it.
...

I spent more money than I care to think about on this dishwasher. I want my old water guzzling very loud washer back. That does not sound like someone who spent 600 on a new washer. But, this water saving washer seems to save the water by not washing the dishes very well. It used to be really quiet (it is less than a year old) and now it is starting to make really strange noises as well. We'll probably have to call it in (and I'm sure the warranty has already expired). The racks of the stands that hold dishes that can lay down or stand up. However, since they are made of some low-grade plastic or something now one of the stands will not stay up after it has been laid down. Overall, I don't think LG is ready to put out this kind of equipment. I honestly wish I would have spent the 900 and gone with the Bosch. Would have been well worth the price difference I think. Sometimes after the wash has been run the machine still smells funky when I open it and I run it every day. Not a happy customer!...
...

I live in a small mobile home that was made before dishwashers and I just had to have a dishwasher. Portable floor models was out of the question because I didn't want to push a dishwasher back and forth around my kitchen (and I had no room to store a portable floor model).

This Koldfront had the best reviews I could find for a portable counter top dishwasher. And, I'm not disapointed.

This washer is NOISY when in operations. And, it takes awhile for it to wash dishes. I never turn it on when I'm going to be taking a shower shortly or washing clothes. It has a delay option that allows me to set it before I leave the house for work.

I do keep the rinse aid compartment filled and I use Cascade complete detergent. Normally, my dishes come out perfectly clean. If a dish went in with something that had already dried on, it may come out with the food still stuck on it. But, that's not a frequent problem. I tend to fill the washer as full as I can get it so that may have something...
...

We've had our Nautilus Dishwasher for 8 years. From day one it was noisy, but I was just glad to have a dishwasher (last house didn't have one). We have to turn it on when everyone goes to bed because you can't have a conversation with it on or watch tv in the other room. At first it cleaned well, however after a few years you could see a decline in the quality of cleaning. There is a film and sometimes haze on the glasses, plus it's not cleaning all the dishes and silverware properly. How gross when you go to take out the clean dishes to find food still on your forks. You almost have to clean your dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. I also think it's not energy efficient. It takes about two hours for a full cycle and that is on air dry. Every once in a while the timer gets stuck on rinse so you have to monitor it or it will stay on rinse (it did this once for four hours). It doesn't leak so we keep on using it until we can find a good sale to replace it. I can't wait...
...

We bought this dishwasher during a kitchen remodel last year. It was the one appliance my husband really wanted and the one that he picked out. He got it completedly right.

Our old dishwasher was noisy and required a lot of presoaking and prewashing - not this one. We pop plates, cups and pots and pans from the table and stove right on in, and they are taken care of.

One of my favorite features is that the dishwasher senses how much water is needed for the load, and then it adjusts accordingly so as to not waste water. It also like that the top racks is adjustable. You can change the height as needed. The wine stem holders on the top rack are also a handy feature.

There is a removeable silverware basket on the bottom. I do wish the manufacturer had thought to make the first basket, the one for odds and end items, a slightly larger size. Once I've fit a couple large serving items or sippy cup tops in there, it's out of room.
...

It is quieter than our old Maytag, but that is all I can say positive about it! Dishes often do not come out clean, especially if you put too much in ("too much" means not leaving lots of empty space). Soap is left on the glasses -- fill them up with water and we can see the bubbles floating on top! We have even tried different deteregents. Now we are in the habit of just rinsing out the "clean" glasses before using them.

Racks are basic at best, and do not accomodate any tall cookware (for example, there is no way to fit our pizza pan).

Utinsil basket needs rework -- badly placed (you have to be careful no to put anything too tall in the right side or it will block the soap door from opening). Little slots designed to keep silverware seperate are too small. What is worse, the thing...
...

halikias says "delay start feature does not work with these dishwashers" about Whirlpool Gold Quiet Partner III

i've had my gu2300xtv model for a month now.

everything was great for the first 2 weeks. i loved the ample size, the silverware in the door and the cleaning ability. it wasn't extremely quiet, but still acceptable.

suddenly, all my dishes had a white powdery film. the tech came out and told me how these units operate in order to maintain their energy star rating.

the internal heater does not kick in until the main wash. so, you have to run the tap water to the ideal temp before the unit starts. this is why the delayed timer is not useful unless you're willing to install a mini water heater at your sink. note - bosch units' heaters kick on immediately so i should have bought a bosh since this feature was extremely important to me.

fixing the problem was not a simple as it sounded. here are the steps i had to take to get rid of the film in the tub.

1. run washer magic through a cycle when the unit was empty

2. ditch my "green" phosphorus free detergent and buy cascade with dawn...
...

LAWhitteck says "The most user-friendly dish drawer!" about Fisher and Paykel Dish Drawer

We purchased the single dish drawer for our new home build. This dishwasher holds full service for approximately 6 at one time (plates, saucers, glassware, flatware, and bowls), I run a wash cycle every two days or so and it has performed perfectly in the two and a half years we have had it. It has a removable screen to filter out any bits of food that are cleaned off the plates, which is easy to get to compared to a regular dishwasher. No bending over either. It also has a setting selection and can reduce the cycle to be eco-friendly. Its Energy Star rated too.
...
