i have a crock pot and it is the greatest thing since sliced bread. You put you food in and in 4-6 hours on high or 8 hours on low and man you have a meal waiting for you. I like cabage rolls and they cook great in this. but it isnt limined to savory foods .You can also make cakes and drinks in it. Sometimes on hoildays i cook eggs and then im free to cook other stuff to go with the eggs dish. My sister when she has lefted over roast beef she cooks pinto beans and the roast and it is great. really has a different taste. And now they have the bags you can put in the pot and there is no clean up. One thing i learned on sandra lee show if you decide to make a cake put papper towels on top then the lid and it help with the mositure.
...

I have this Crock Pot but my crock insert is white instead of black. I bought this slow cooker probably in the late 1990s. I own three slow cookers (the Rival 3-1/2-quart oval and the Rival 6-quart), and this is the best one and the one I use the most. It is 2-1/2 quarts and is perfect for two people. It cooks the best out of all three of my slow cookers as it does not overcook the food as the other two will. I find that the cooking times listed in most slow cooker cookbooks are very accurate for this Crock Pot, but for my other two larger models, I must reduce the cooking time. I have never had overcooked food in this slow cooker. Everything has always cooked to perfection. Most recipes in slow cooker cookbooks are written for 6 to 8 servings. If I cut the recipes in half, they will fit perfectly in this Crock Pot and fill it 3/4 full. That is just enough food for my husband and me and will usually leave leftovers for one or two more meals for one person. This slow cooker also looks...
...

We had to replace our old crock pot because the cord on our old one disconnected and we had had it for years any ways. So we bought this rival six quart crockpot to replace it. It is a great crockpot. Its not as good as the crockpot brand crockpot that we had but it still does a good job. It is oval shaped with a silver base and a black oval insert. It came with a cord that you put over the handles and over the top that allows the pot and lid to stay in place so that you don't have to worry about it when you take it with you to family gatherings or parties. We use it to make just about anything. Its great if your really busy that day. what I usually do is put chicken and seasoning in the pot in the morning and by dinner time you have perfectly cooked evenly seasoned meat and all thats left to make is the sides. The only problem I really have with this crockpot is that the cord on it is too short other than that its perfect for me.
...

I have owned 2 of these crockpots and I love them. I only replace my first one because my son accidentally broke the crock. I love the fact that we can take meals to eat at church and I don't have to worry about it being all over the car when I arrive at my destination. I think the low heat setting is the best after the initial first hour on high. It is nice for a busy mother of 8 to have a little help in the kitchen and my crockpot has become that friend. Putting a meal into the crockpot at the start of my day and allowing me to control the rest of my day. Even when the unexpected arrises we still get a warm meal on the table whenever it is convenient for us or when my husband is a few minutes late--if the meal is in the crockpot is doesn't upset my schedule. The warm temperature is great to just keep the food warm when it is done before the supper hour. I do not use the heating bags in this crockpot and sometimes I think that would help with the clean up element which would...
...

At first glance, I love the deep burgundy color and its oval shape. It cooks wonderfully and evenly. The food doesn't even stick. It has three settings, warm, low and high. Just set it and forget it. It is also very easy to clean. I have never had a crockpot that is this easy to clean with its stoneware liner being and added feature that is great. Plus, it has a removable server where you can take it directly from the pot to the table. And it holds its heat very well. The food stays warm and the bowl is very attractive to complement any table setting. It is very durable and sturdy. This is a product that is sure to last you a very long time. This is one appliance I definitely would not want to be without. It is great for dips, roasts, and to keep food warm for a buffet. This is a great product for entertaining and for the the upcoming holiday season! Your crowd won't be disappointed at all! you'll be the hit of any party!!
...

jmlindsey2 says "The best way to get a home cooked meal when we both work!" about Hamilton Beach Slow Cooker 5.5-Quart Oval

My husband and I enjoy dining it, don't get me wrong. However, we used to eat out a lot more than we should have. Why? Because we both work long hours and by the time we both get home, neither one of us wanted to waste time to cook a meal. We were typically starving, so it was just easier to run and grab something.

Now we are proud owners of this slow cooker! We just set it up in the morning before we head out to work, and by the time we come home after work, we have a delicious fully cooked meal, without any of the hassle of trying to cook once we hit the door. The small investment we made to purchase this slow cooker has made a world of difference in our pocketbook, too. Since we aren't running to a different restaraunt every night for dinner, we've certainly seen a wonderful increase in our bank account.

Clean up is a breeze. Just remove the pot to wash and wipe down the actual base of the unit. Would make a perfect gift for newlyweds!
...

If you work outside the home and want to have a hot homecooked meal waiting for you to serve, either just yourself or the whole family then a Crock pot is a must. This isn't your Mother's crockpot either. Where Mom's was round, all one piece this is oblong, you can take it out of the electrical component and put together what ever you want cooked, that hen you have in the freezer and haven't used or the roast that looks too pretty to cut up to fit in a circle crock pot. You can assembly your meal, put the lid on the crock pot and store it in the fridge then in the morning when you get up, put it inside the crock pot. Knowing that when you get home there will be a delicious meal waiting for you, and yours.

Another feature from cooking your meal in the crock pot instead of oven, when you get home you will find that whatever you cooked has not reduced in size by half which happens when cooked in the oven. The house is still comfortable rather than hot from using an oven all day to...
...

I think the Oster Crock Pot, is probably the best invention ever created. I love it. I love the fact that at night before I go to bed, I can throw whatever I need into the Oster Crock Pot, and cook it over night. Then when I wake up in the morning, I can put it away and when I get off work I can just reheat. I can also just set it in the morning before I leave for work, and come home to my entire house smelling wonderful. I love IT! I have even bought them as gifts for other friends and family members. They also make great wedding presents if someone has ordered one. THe only thing I wish it had, that it doesn't is a carrying case. I would love to be able to transfer my food in the crock pot and not have to dirty another dish to travel with it. Other then that, its a great product and it is very sturdy. I couldn't ask for a better kitchen item to have. And it doesn't take up much space either. I suggest buying one. You won't regret it. You will LOVE It. And want everyone else to have one...
...

The Crockpot is almost a kitchen in itself. I have been able to cook a number of recipes in it from soups, main dishes to desserts.
This is surely a one pot cooker and will cook almost anything you want to cook in it.
What I really like about it, is that you can put all ingredients in it, set it and leave it until the time that you need it. Its great to fix breakfast casseroles in overnight and when you are ready for it the next morning, breakfast is ready for you.
The core of the pot can be removed and placed in the bottom of the dishwasher and is very easily cleaned....

A fantastic slow cooker that does it all. You can use it like a good old fashioned crock pot, if that's what you prefer. Just manually select the high, low, or keep warm setting. But you also have two other neat options: 1) count-down or timer mode, while using either the high or low settings, or 2) you can use the temperature probe to reach a low temperature of 160 degrees or the high setting at 180 degrees. After reaching either targeted temperature, the unit will then automatically coast into keep-warm mode. Very cool! This model is designed to automatically turn off after 14 hours of use. A rubber gasket on the lid and two clamp-down latches make this an easy slow cooker to transport without spilling the contents. We can understand why this model was recently recommended in a national consumer magazine. We highly recommend this slow cooker as well. It's an easy-to-use crock pot that is just loaded with convenient features. We love ours.
...

This was received as a registry gift from Williams-Sonoma. It works great and looks great, and the ceramic insert allows you the option to prepare your meal the night before, put it in the fridge, then put the insert into the cooker and hit go before work in the morning. This is super handy since my husband and I both work long hours. I haven't had to do it yet, but if I wanted to hurry it up a bit, I could take out the ceramic insert and put it in the oven to finish. You can make so many things in a slow cooker, and it is so easy. This one is stainless steel with a white ceramic insert, so it looks very modern, and does not look like your mom's slow cooker. The only downside I would say is that we don't have much cabinet space, so are keeping it out, and it takes up a fair amount of real estate on the countertop due to its size. Still it gets used often enough to justify leaving it out.
...

When my 3 year old accidentally broke the insert to my crock-pot I began searching for it's replacement. Having a family of seven using a crock pot is an easy way for preparing a meal for any size family while being able to leave the house for work or to run errands and such. I chose this particular model for several reasons. My old crock pot was in the classic style where you were only able to choose low or high. I like the fact that with this model you have the option to have it run for a certain period of time on either heat setting. Another feature that was quite aggravating about my previous crock pot was that the lid did was not able to be secured unless you wanted to rig up a bungie cord. Hence if you were transporting something in the trunk and the lid shifted you were sure to find some of your dinner all over the floor of your trunk! The locking lid with this model prevents that. It is also a wonderful safety feature if you have little ones around so it can keep...
...

I purchased the Rival Crock-Pot Smart-pot Slow cooker (SCVC604) about 6 months ago. I was so impressed with it that i used it every day for the next couple weeks! It has a High and Low setting, as well as a keep warm setting, so if you're like most families who work 8 hour shift, but by the time commute & picking up kids have been added in, you're gone nine or more hours, your dinner doesn't get over cooked or dried out! It also has a timer built in, where you can increase (or decrease) the time by 30 minute increments. After the time is up it will automatically switch over to warm, and a keep warm light will be lit so you know that it is still on and still working! It has a hinged lid so when you check on your food you already have a place for it, which is always nice for me because I have NO counter space and with the condensation that collects on the lid, I've had problems finding places for the lid before.

All in all I love this product, and would highly recommend it to anyone who is...
...

Lindseyro says "love it, use it all the time!!" about Rival stonewear slow cooker

I received this crock pot over ten years ago for a wedding gift. I use it all the time! Even my husband uses it. One of the best features is the carrying case warmer. My family lives over 2 hours away from us and when I cook something and then take it to their house using the warmer carrying case it is still warm. There is also a warm setting which I love because my husband does not get home till late in the evening, so the kids and I can eat when the food is done and it is still warm when he comes home from work. I also like it because you can take the stoneware pot out, I have used it in the oven before when I just needed a bigger dish to cook something that would not cook right in the crock pot, it worked great in the oven. It is also just the right size when making a roast for a family of 5 or more, but also small enough that you don't make too much. I would defiantly recommend this product to anyone thinking of purchasing a crock pot.
...

Taterbug08 says "couldnt live without this in my kitchen" about CROCK POT Crock-Pot Slow Cooker 7 Quart

The crockpot brand crock pot 7 quart is a very nice and classy looking product. this is not the standard round crock pot but an oval shape with a beautiful black lacquer finish and also has a see through lid. i found that everything i Cook in here is done so very evenly and not hot to the touch while slow cooking, my last crockpot was hot to the touch on the outside while cooking which is not very safe for little ones around. i have cooked everything in here from chicken and rice, whole chicken, beef stew, chicken noodle soup, cherry cobbler, pot roast, and many more. i probably use the crock pot at least 3 meals a week if not more. the simplicity in taking out the actual pot to wash is wonderful and it is almost a nonstick surface everything comes off so easily. also this fits in my bottom rack of my dishwasher if i really dont want to do dishes. I love this one and if something happens to it, i hope to get another just like it.
...

gaelforce says "The Original Is Still The Best." about Rival Original Slow Cooker Smart Pot

I am always seeing commercials for "newer" or "better" crock pots but nothing will ever replace my Rival Original Slow Cooker Smart Pot. It has every feature that I need.

I can cook meals for 4 to 5 people. With one button I can choose when to turn it off so that when the food is fully cooked the Smart Pot will shut off keeping the food warm without over cooking it. I am not a very good cook so crock pot meals are one of my staples.

Its exterior is white plastc that is easy to keep clean just by wiping it down and looks good in any kitchen. The stoneware and glass lid are dishwasher safe. It has stick resistant coating. All in all this is the easiest appiance to clean that I have ever used.

Super Grip handles make this crock pot easy to move; I have never dropped it. It comes with a one year full warantee and even I could understand the owner's manual and instructions.

The Rival Original Slow Cooker Smart Pot is the best value for your money today but even if it wasn't it would be worth...
...

bkluver says "This cooker is the only one you need for most anything you cook." about Presto Presto Kitchen Kettle Multi-Cooker/Steamer

I use my Presto Kettle all of the time. I especially like the fact that I can brown my meat right in the same kettle that I make a pot of chili or stew - I am making chili as I write this.

I can throw a roast in and continue with everything I else I need to get done around the house or run errands away from home and know that supper will still be ready on time. Toss in my potatoes and carrots, maybe some little onions and I'm set.

This kettle also works great for deep frying. We use it for everything from french fries to fresh Catfish nuggets and everything always comes out delicious.

It can also be used as a steamer so you don't even have to purchase a separate appliance to get those healthy, tasty steamed vegetables.

The Presto cooker cleans in a breeze. It is all completely non-stick and once you pull the heat control you can submerse the entire pot in your dishwater or place it in your dishwasher.

The Presto Kitchen Kettle would be the perfect wedding, or anytime, gift. I...
...
