My new "Mini Zo" just arrived today, which was amazing! I have enjoyed my two-pound loaf Zojirushi since I purchased it from Amazon in 2002 and will still use it for larger loaves, but this will be the perfect size for just the two of us and for special breads that we may want for one or two meals. The loaf I made today was for "soft" white bread. This interested me since there is a setting for "regular" and "firm" bread as well, but I thought I would see what the "soft" would be like--this takes three hours rather than the longer time for the other syles (we wanted it for dinner). The loaf could not have been more perfect! The texture was wonderful and the taste excellent! The bread came out of the bread pan perfectly. There is also a "Quick" setting which requires two hours or less, depending on the light or dark crust selected. This machine fits very nicely on the counter taking up only a little more space than a blender. The carrying handle on the machine makes it very convenient for...
...

I always loved the thought of "Baking", but was never good at it. But my family loves breads and cakes. After watching a preview, I thought okay I 'll give it a try. Well, I've been making bread, since the first day it arrived. I LOVE! this machine. Just follow the easy instructions , which is just adding all the stuff in order, just like the instructions say. And thats it! It's unbelievable. I can't believe I made this all by myself. Okay, my husband did read off the ingredients to me lol which are few. Just add it, set it, and forget it, It's amazing! Even the clean up is, really No Clean up lol. Can't believe it! But it's TRUE!
...

I love my Zojirushi so much that if it ever decided to go into permanent retirement I would not consider a different brand. I would buy another Zojirushi. My Zojirushi is about 10 years old and it still works and looks like it is brand new.

It is one of the best investments I ever made. It saves me time and money. I have wheat allergies and have used spelt flour and other non wheat grains and my bread comes out better and tastes better than the store bought brands. It did take me about 5 attempts to obtain the right amount of ingredients before I had a spelt loaf I could eat. I have used my bread maker with regular white flour and whole wheat flour. Those have come out great as well.
...

I love, love, love my Oster Bread Machine ExpressBake. I use it at least twice, if not more, times per week. I am what you would call a functional cook/baker. I do what needs to be done without a lot of frills. When this was given to me for Christmas, my husband swore that it would either stay in the box until we had a garage sale the next summer or that I would just use it once and forget about it. He has never been more wrong. I use it more for the dough setting. I like to make pizza dough, bake and then pop it into the freezer for an easy dinner after a busy day. Or save the dough and make mini-chili bowls. I have actually gotten a bit more creative with my bread and dough recipes now that I know how to just plop the ingredients in and let the machine do all of the work. Oster takes all of the work out of it - you don't even have to watch it to make sure it mixes completely. I know I can set it before I go to work or bed, put the ingredients in and have a piping...
...

I purchased the Oster Bread Machine ExpressBake 5838 a couple months ago since I am now medically required to be gluten free and all commercially purchased gluten free bread that I have tried tastes terrible. I was craving a normal bread and could not find one that was even close so I decided to buy a bread machine and make my own. I purchased this machine and love it. I have tried the normal setting, expressbake 58 min and expressbake 90 min setting. All work well. I use only gluten free bread mixes and all have turned out wonderfully! I have not tried to make my own by a recipe yet, but I will try it soon! This machine was purchased at Kohl's for under $65 and has been worth every cent.
...

I was given this Regal Kitchen Pro Bread maker as a gift. I love fresh bread, but often don't want to spend hours making it. You just pop everything into the bread pan, set the bread maker, and in a couple of hours-fresh bread! I have never had any problems with this breadmaker or needed other features. I do however recommend that you use the recipes that come with it, or other recipes designed specifically for a bread machine. I have tried other recipes in there and wound up with a 2 inch high loaf. The bread machine came with a book of reciipes for every kind of bread imaginable. You can't make baguettes in the machine, but you can make and rise and knead the dough in the bread machine, and then bake it in the oven. You can make rolls and sticky buns like this too. The timer and settings are simple to use. They are just push buttons, and there is a digital readout of the time left, and progress of the loaf. I would recommend this breadmaker.
...

heavncentt says "Fantastic Sunbeam Breadmaker, reliable, frugal, well made!" about Sunbeam 5891

I bought this Sunbeam Breadmaker late last year and have loved it ever since! I purchased mine at Walmart for about $55. After looking for an easy to use, yet not drastically expensive breadmaker, I finally settled on my find at Walmart. It is my first breadmaker. I have used it many times and have baked white loaf bread, dough cycle for dinner rolls, and dough cycle for white bread. All have came out great. I tend to like to use it for the dough cycle, then remove it and bake in my oven. Originally the instructions to get you started on your first loaf said to select the medium crust option. My first loaf tasted great, but the crust was too dark for our preferences. So, I now use the light crust option. Just our families tastes and desire. Overall, I am very very happy with my breadmaker purchase. This was well worth the money, works very well, is very easy to keep clean, and does what it actually is suppose to do. Very good purchase!
...

I got the T-fal Emerilware bread and baguette maker and thought it was a but pricey. However, it makes wonderful bread and baguettes. For me so worth the money. I can have different types of bread made as needed and it is easy. Takes approx 1.5 hours for fresh bread! Clean-up is a snap as well with the non-stick loaf pans. There are so many pre-programmed settings to chose from. I also love the keep warm setting, nice when dinner isn't quite ready. Comes with several tools including the brush and removable baguette tray. Can also get ready and not start the bread for several hours if needed. Another nice option is the crust settings, I tend to like medium but one could make it lighter or darker depending on their preference. The recipes that is comes with have all been very good. Can make dough for pizza, quick breads and all sorts of options. I had heard bread machines are loud this one to my delight wasn't at all.
...

I'm not that great in the kitchen, but loved the idea of a bread maker after seeing my sister's. First I tried a sunbeam & it was awful, so I returned it & bought this one, worried it wouldn't be any better. I was so pleasantly surprised!! It is so easy to use. I ran out & bought a bread machine cookbook & have tried several recipes. I love baking bread & trying new flavors. It even makes jam! I never thought I would make my own jam, but it was so easy. Now all my friends ask when I'll be bringing them more oatmeal bread & peach jam. I never have to worry, I just put everything in, turn it on & leave it. It looks nice & the controls are easy to use. Only drawback is that there isn't a separate jam setting, but it's not that hard to work around.
...

Great receipes in the book which comes with the Sunbeam Bread Maker. Breads, Pizza dough, Cinnamon rolls, flavored breads with nuts, fruits, dates. I have no problems making healthy breads and dinners with my Sunbeam bread maker even being a very busy mom, business owner, and I have 6 dogs. I even make them fresh doggy treats weekly. My dogs, kids, and hubby love when I bake and the house smells wonderful. It looks as if i have been in the kitchen all day when It took me less then 15 minutes to make a great dinner roll and desert in less than an a hour. Clean up is so simple two pieces right into the dishwasher and done. Time for more important things such as family time. I can make a weeks worth of food in no time and no mess either.

I cannot say how much I love my Breadman Ultimate Plus bread machine!!! This is the third bread machine I'm on. I burned up the first two by using them so much! The Breadman Ultimate Plus comes with a wonderful instruction manual and recipe guide. there are many wonderful recipes and I tend to make the same 4 or 5 over and over tweaking the ingredients here and there to make them my own. I like to use my machine to make the dough only and then bake it in my oven. I am not fond of the traditional square loaf of bread that comes out of bread machines. This way I can make various shapes, more than 1 loaf from the dough that comes out and my breads look like they've come straight from the bakery! The Breadman Ultimate Plus breadmaker takes the hard part out of making fresh home-baked bread. you put the ingredients in and it mixes, kneads and rises for you. Use the dough setting for perfect dough every time. Clean up is a snap. After I remove the dough, toss in the...
...

I like bread...No, that's not true. I LOVE BREAD. It would be one of the three items I'd taken with me on a desert island. I mean, what's not to love? Those who say "man cannot live by bread alone" have not owned a Zo.

Owning a Zojirushi bread machine will not only change your bread consumption, but it will alter HOW you look at food. You might even becme a foodie! My husband was less than thrilled at $200+ price tag but we buy quality (so we only have to buy it once). And after that first loaf, he never complained again. In fact, he will admit to being very spoiled by homemade bread. You can't go back to store-bought after becoming accustomed to the rich tastes and textures that you can make in your very own kitchen.

And for those of you, like me, who are on the frugal side of things: After you gulp and swallow the initial price, this machine WILL save you $$$ every week. I no longer spend $2.50 and above for a wimpy loaf of bread, or $3.50 for artisan bread. I make it myself. And I am...
...

If you like fresh baked bread but don't always have time to make it the old fashion way, then the Oster Bread Machine ExpressBake is the bread machine for you. You simply select a bread recipe from the booklet sent to you. There are 26 bread recipes, from regular to whole wheat and even sweet breads, as well as nine dough setting recipes (including three jam recipes).

Once you select your recipe, you add the ingredients in the order presented, then pop the pan back into the bread machine, select your style of bread, the crust type you like, and push start. Nothing else to do (unless you want to add nuts or something like that) until the bread is done. Voila, a 1 1/2 to 2 pound loaf of bread.

A regular loaf of bread takes about three hours from start to finish. This is the BASIC setting and it kneads the bread, does the rising, kneads again, rises again, "punch down", third rise and bakes. All on it's own.

The whole wheat and frech settings take a little under four hours to complete. ...
...

The Panasonic bread machine doesn't have custom settings, a jam cycle or a viewing window, but reviewers say these are features you might not miss, especially if you are mainly interested in a breadmaker that's easy to... use. The Panasonic bread machine makes horizontal loaves, but with just a single paddle, it sometimes doesn't mix quite as thoroughly as dual-paddle breadmakers. Still, the Panasonic breadmaker gets great scores for its 1.5- to 2.5-pound loaves. It also has a dough-only cycle, which is helpful for making pizza and bagel dough.
...

The Cuisinart CBK 200 automatic bread maker has an attractive stainless steel outside finish with a clear glass window for easy viewing. The bake pan is non stick with a two pound capacity. There are 16 preset menu options, a bake only option, add ingredients timer and a 15 minute pause option. There is also a convection fan for even heat circulation. I especially like the fact that there are settings for carb-free, low gluten and artesian dough as well as a power failure back up so your bread does not ruin if the power goes out. The handles stay cool even while bread is baking, so there will be no burning your hands or fingers. Basically, the pros are that there is an attractive, modern looking finish, flexible bake settings, a brand name with a great reputation and a decent price. It is also a decent size and is easy to store. The only real con that I can think of is that is has a single kneading blade
...

The Black and Decker all in one automatic bread maker is a great addition to my kitchen. I received mine for Christmas years ago and use it every month at least once a month. For my family I usually bake a 2lb. loaf of bread each week. I love to get my machine started and then let it do the rest. It makes a nice quality loaf of bread in a couple of hours. The consistency of the loaf is almost that of a loaf of store bought bread but so much healthier and fresher without preservatives. I also use my Black and Decker bread machine to stir up heavy dough that is to hard for my hands and arms to stir up by hand. It is a real helper. I can set it on the dough pasta setting and put my ingredients in and let it do the hard work. When it is done I take my dough out and pan it up; wait for it to raise and then pop it in the oven. It is just an excellent machine that is so versatile my kitchen and I would be lost without it.
...

sleepingKelly says "Awesome to be able to remove the paddle but watch the crust!" about Cuisinart CBK-200 Convection Bread Maker

The main reason I chose this machine over other brands was the paddle removal feature. The machine beeps to alert you to remove the paddle before baking so you don't have that obnoxious hole in the bottom. Like other bread machines, it's pretty noisy. Sometimes the basin shakes loose of the base, but if you monitor your dough, you'll know when that happens. I've also had some issues with the bread crust burning. When I use the recipes that are in the machine's manual, everything is perfect. However, when I use recipes from my bread machine cookbooks, they burn. I'm not sure if it's me, the recipes, or the machine. As long as I use the basic setting w/ the light crust for certain recipes, it turns out okay.
...

oliver says "My first bread machine - I'm a fan" about Sunbeam 5891 Bread Maker

Nothing beats the taste or smell of freshly baked French bread. That's what I thought I'd be getting every day when I bought a bread machine. I've since found out that you have to follow the recipes to the letter and use the exact ingredients. It's not like regular cooking where you can substitute something (within reason) and have success. If you don't follow directions precisely, you'll end up with a foul tasting hard lump of dough.

In saying that, it's not a flaw of the bread maker. The machine is easy to use and the timings on the screen seem to be accurate. The only downside is that I always have the temptation to open the lid to ensure the dough is rising. The machine comes with plenty of recipes and I'm yet to try them out - I'm still going for the perfect crust on a French loaf. If I ever find it, I'll update this review with the directions.

One disappointing aspect was that I thought the machine was broken when I received it (shipped, not picked up in store). ...
...

Laylaaa says "Oster bread-maker instills a desire to bake." about Oster 101080

I love oster bread maker for the sheer joy of using it. I put in all the ingredients and set the delay-timer and the choice of bread type at night. I wake smelling the fragrace of freshly baked bread which sets the day to a pleasant start. The recipe book that comes with it produces perfectly baked bread or a cake. Even my husband who hates cooking loves to try out new recipes on the oster bread maker. It is simple, easy to use and no mess. The non stick container is just great and no mess! Besides bread, I use it to make dough for Indian roti's, puris and chappatis. This is a great help for a person like me who has shoulder aches and neck pains which get triggered by kneading. I have recommended it to my close friends and relatives. I only wish that the oster bread maker would come with 220V adapter for use in India so that I can gift my sister.
...
