But around April, as I was blending one of my famous strawberry smoothies, I began to notice the smell of burning rubber, followed by a low grinding sound coming from the blender. I promptly unplugged the blender and took it apart, only to notice that the blade and the rubber part that holds it had completely become detached. Needless to say, I was disappointed (I really wanted that smoothie!). I then had to contact the company for a replacement, which wasn't a very pleasant experience in itself. This Kenmore blender definitely needs some work. Hopefully the next one will manage to stay intact for longer than six months. Bottom line, this blender is wonderful for occasional use, but shouldn't be used for the daily "grind". —...
