I love my Kitchen Aid mixer. When baking from scratch I always pull it out, even though it is a bit heavy to do so. It is well worth the effort as it saves time while baking by leaving your hands free to do other tasks. You can whip egg whites while you measure out ingredients, grease the cake pan or even tidy up as you bake. The mixer is perfect for mixing light or heavy batters. The motor is heavy duty and the mixer has never failed me yet, even one Christmas when my friend and I decided to make a triple batch of biscotti. That was a very heavy batter and the Kitchen Aid mixer worked effortlessly. The mixer is very stable on the kitchen counter and it is easy to remove the mixer attachments and bowl. Mine is white but there are a variety of colors to choose from. There are many attachments for the mixer including a special bowl for making ice cream, pasta maker, meat grinder and a shredder/slicer. It is the best mixer I have ever used and it is well worth the price. ...
...

fosed says "Great for someone who cooks small quantites." about Cuisinart Mini-Prep Processor DLC-1

I live alone; so I have to be very careful to prepare small quantities that I can consume without spoiling. I also watch my weight carefully and that's another reason to limit the amount prepared. This small cuisinart is perfect. I am not tempted to fix a lot of anything; because it just won't hold it. The instruction booklet came with some wonderful small quantity recipies. My favorite is banana frozen yogurt that is low in calories and good for me. However, I mainly use it to chop small quantities of seasonings like onions and green peppers. Another trick I've learned is to use for grinding coffee beans. It will handle a few at a time easily; so they're always freshly ground. It is very easy to take apart for cleaning and putting it back together is just as simple. Cooking is far from my favorite thing, and this appliance makes it so much easier. It prevents my making so many excuses to just survive on restaurant meals alone.
...

I absolutely love my Kitchen Aide stove top. My old stove top had open-coil elements and was a pain to keep clean but my Kitchen Aide is a breeze to clean. If I spill something on it all I have to do is wipe it clean with a little bit of baking soda and presto - it is clean! Even cleaning the knobs are easy. The dual-size surface units are also definitely a plus. I only use the amount of heat that I need. Another plus is the hot surface indicator light. When I see the red light I know that the surface is too hot to touch yet. I would definitely buy another Kitchen Aide appliance!
...

I was given this as a birthday present last year. I specifically asked for it and was sorely disappointed after getting to use it. I know it was expensive and honestly feel terrible for asking for it. I would never recommend this product to anyone for any reason. I am completely satisfied with my Kitchen Aid mixer but this was a let down. In order to use it you have to put the bowl in the freezer at least 24 hours before you plan on using it. I, for one, usually decide to make desserts on a whim and that is not possible with this item. So after you have frozen this bowl (which is quite large on it's own) you attach it to your mixer and use it as per the instructions. It is honestly easy to use and operate but bulky. After the ice cream is mixed it is supposed to be put back in the freezer to solidify some more but it doesn't ever really. The "ice cream" is runny and loose, not like any ice cream I've ever made before. The flavor of the ice cream was good but it was just the texture. I...
...

I bought this in black for my new house. I just bought my first house and have been collecting things to make a house a home and I have always wanted a kitchen aid stand mixer. My kitchen is stainless steel and black so this black unit fit perfectly in. It has 10 variable speed controls that are easily cycled through with the knob on the side of the unit. It came with the bowl pouring shield that has come in so handy for when I make batters during the holidays. It also comes with a whisk, a beater and a dough hook. No matter what I have made so far, I haven't needed any other kind of beater with these three on hand. I also love how there are so many different kind of attachments that you can add onto the top making this a highly multi functional piece of equipment. The unit itself is very easy to clean and wipe down when I am finished. It has a decently long cord so it does not have to be right next to the outlet when it is used either. I would highly recommend this stand mixer. It is a...
...

wantsponys says "The Sunbeam Breadmaker is worth the purchase." about Sunbeam Breadmaker 5891

The Sunbeam Breadmaker, model 5891, is my first bread making machine. I found it easy to use and the instructions easy to follow but I had to re-read the instructions more than once. I still keep the instructions handy when I'm making bread for the basic use and because it contains recipes that I still use. The machine allows you to make your own recipes and store bought packaged bread mixes. For a novice breadmaker it is a good machine to start out with. The display is digital and easy to read and understand. I don't like that you can't stop the machine if you forgot something without having to start over from the beginning. I don't know if this is the case with all breadmakers or not. You absolutely need to use the breadmachine yeast that comes in a jar. The packaged ones say they can be used in machines but when I used it, the dough overflowed and pushed the lid open. It was a real mess. This model allows for 3 crust color settings and 2 loaf sizes. It has 12 breadmaker settings.......

I was excited to purchase the Jack LaLane power juicer. I love fresh juice and was intrigued that you could put whole fruits in this juicer as long as they would fit in the tube. I am very disappointed in the juicer. You cannot even juice oranges in it. I would say it is fine for soft fruits. Pineapples have to be trimmed and cut or you really have a mess. Apples do great in it. The Juicer isn't that hard to use but it takes a lot of steps to put it together correctly. It is extremely messy and clogs up easily. I think it is more for soft fruits and vegetables. When I pay $100 for a juicer I expect it to be able to juice oranges. I wouldn't recommend this juicer.
...

I purchased the magic bullet and was pleasantly surprised! This little guy was so much more than a blender/chopper/mixer/etc! It makes the best smoothies in the world; better than any smoothie place. I just add frozen mixed fruit, a little bit of orange or apple juice and a banana and voila....the best smoothie you will ever taste! The magic bullet isn't just for smoothies though, it makes an amazing frozen coffee drink just like at those coffee joints, but these don't cost you a fortune! Clean up is a breeze. Just rinse the blender cup in the sink or toss it in the dishwasher. There is literally no clean up to stress over. The cups have convenient handles so you can just blend and go. There are different colored rings that can be put on the cups so they are easily identified. Great for parties or get togethers. Keep the same cup all night long and create your own alcoholic concoction! No need to worry about wasting money on plastic cups just to be thrown away. The magic bullet is one...
...

This juicer can even juice carrots. I make apple/carrot juice for my family.. and this juicer works great for that. i have heard that it doesn't work well for soft fruit and I did try to juice strawberries without much success. For hard fruit such as apples and carrots though, its great. One awesome benefit is that you dont have to peel the fuit before you juice the fruit. The only thing that I could say that is a bit negative is that the container that is supposed to separate the foam from the juice, does not work very well at all if it is filled all the way. I solved this problem by not filling the container to complete capacity and the separation, when poured, works fine. I like the idea that there are two settings for speed. I mainly use the lowest setting. The machine is a bit noisey, but not as bad as some juicers that I have used. Overall, I would say that I would buy this machine again. A bargain at under 200.00 bucks.
...

This is by far the best blender I've ever used!!!

I've had it for a couple of years & I've used it nearly everyday...sometimes several times a day!!!! It's great for smoothies, custom coffee blends, nut milks, nut butters, soups, fruit & vegetable juices, pancake batters, syrups....you get the point....it's great for everything!!!!!!! I can't say enough about how wonderful this blender is!!!!!!! The best part is; after all of those things you can make...it's super easy to clean!!!!! :D

The only small complaint I have is that while The Vita-Mix comes with a 7 year warranty, it didn't cover the tamper when I needed a replacement. One of my friends' kids put my tamper in the dishwasher when I wasn't paying attention & it fell to the bottom during the cycle, burning a hole in it & making it unusable. I called Vita-Mix for a replacement & I was told that it wasn't covered by the warranty because they're not supposed to go in the dishwasher...I was a little disappointed,...
...

The Mr. Coffee 12 Cup Coffeemaker CG13 is about as basic as it gets. I admit, I am not much of a coffee drinker and when I do drink coffee I usually like the flavored ones, heavy on the cream and sugar (ok milk and sugar substitute now). Anyway, recently I needed the extra morning jolt of caffeine that coffee can bring and pulled out this coffee maker. I only wanted to make about 5 cups or so, thinking that my husband would want to drink some too since I was actually making it.

Using the Mr. Coffee 12 Cup Coffeemaker CG13 is easy and I do like that there is only one lid I need to flip to fill both the coffee and water filters. The coffee was ok, once I turned it into something that most coffee drinkers would scoff at. It was easy to clean out the pot afterwards and there was no spilling over during brewing. There is a side measure to double check the water amount and an extension cord with storage room in the back when not in use.

But what I didn't like about the Mr. Coffee...
...

I love this toaster oven. Really, who would have thought to make a tiny oven that sits on your counter, or toasting more than two pieces of bread at the same time? Anyway, I cook very often, and it is extrordinarily convenient to pop some bread in there and make a grilled cheese sandwich in four minutes. This brand also has an oven feature that works well for a college student on the go. Okay, it makes cookies look really odd, but hey, they taste the same! I've also used it for casadillas, and random food items that I want to heat up. I hate using the microwave since my mom swears it'll give me cancer, so this is the perfect alternative. Food heats up almost as quickly as in the microwave, and doens't have that dead-taste you get with microwaved food. The one I'm using is my roommate's, but whenever I move out on my own, I'm going to list this product as one of the number one appliances I need for a complete kitchen.
...

When I first moved into my apartment I had some trouble with the refridgerator ~ i.e, it was at first just warm in there, so I adjusted the temperature and my lettuce froze. Finally I worked it out, and I haven't had to mess with it since then. Since I do live in a cheap college apartment, I'm thinking the refridgerator was probably rather inexpensive. It is the ideal refridgerator; it cools foods, it freezes foods, it makes ice cubes. No, it doens't do back flips and make mixed drinks, but if you need to cool and freeze food like a normal person, this is great. Now if you have splendid amounts of cash and think you can't live without shaved ice, go get something else, but for all practical reasons, this is a good refridgerator. If anything is wrong with it, I'd say that the freezer is a bit too small. I live with three other girls and we have to fight over freezer space, but that's not much to complain about. On the whole, I like it.
...

I got the Hamilton Beach 10 Speed blender as a birthday present, oddly enough (don't worry ~ I requested it as a present). After I started using it, though, I was more than a bit disappointed. It's rather fussy, won't blend smoothly if the food isn't weighty enough, and often needs to be baby-sat. As examples, I tried to make 1 can of garbanzo beans worth of hummus, and it ended up being far too gritty. It worked better with two cans, but I only cook for myself, so it would go bad before I could use it all. In another case, I tried to make a slushie for myself, and I had to stand over the blender with a spoon to keep pushing down the ice. The name advertises "10 Speed," but it seems like it only has two speeds - loud and louder. There are also two more buttons that do the same thing, which is, you have to stand there and hold them down if you want to blend. This is useful, for like I said, if you have to turn it off every few seconds anyway, you may as well hold the button down yourself....
...

dimathis says "This is the best Crock Pot Ever!" about CROCK POT 6 qt. slow cooker

In the past, I have never really cared about using crock pots other than perhaps for Chili. Now that I have this 6 quart crock pot, I love cooking everything with it. I even use my 6 quart crock pot for my favorite turkey breast. Get up on Sunday morning put turkey breast or roast in crock pot and
when you get home from church, dinner is ready, tender and delicious. Used to eat out a lot because I am not a cook, but I feel like a great cook using this crock pot. Buy one, you will be glad you did, actual pot goes into dishwasher and is pretty server also....

lvitag172 says "Nespresso Romeo make espresso enjoyable, perfect every time" about Nespresso romeo

I bought the Nespresso Romeo directly from Nespresso as a refurbished model. You cant' tell the unit is refurbished and it came in very nice packaging with the guides, etc.

It was very simple to hook up. I love this machine because I can make espresso and cappacino both VERY easily. It also has a built-in frother/steamer so you don't need to have a separate piece of equipment on the counter. I like that it offers 2 coffee sizes, a single and double shot. The only place you can get the Nespresso capsules is from Nespresso online and a very few boutiques. At first this was a little annoying, but as long as you order plenty at one time, it's perfect. It's almost like you belong to an exclusive club. I like that the caspules are color coded for the different blends/flavors. After a short time, you will get to know which is which without having to refer to the guide.

The machine's cup warmer isn't THAT great. I still warm up the cup using hot water, but it's a nice feature. You'd have to leave...
...

kebridgeman says "Grill enough for your whole family!!!" about George Foreman Lean Mean Fat Reducing grilling Machine GR35

My father, before I moved out, had a small George Forman and he LOVED it. Unfortunately you could only cook 1 piece of meat at a time. I love grill food but can't afford an outdoor grill and, because I'm a single mom, couldn't fathom running outside to tend a grill while preparing other dishes inside. I wanted a Forman but didn't want to waste money on one of the tiny machines to cook 1 piece of meat at a time. When I saw that there were larger Formans I wanted one but they were out of my budget at the time.

I found this one in WalMart for like $70 but then found it online for half the price!

It would have been worth far more than the $70. I can grill 2 burgers (1 for me and 1 for my son) and lots of mushrooms in 5 minutes. I LOVE grilled mushroom, cheese burgers! I can grill 5 larger chicken breasts in 5 minutes, or 5 salmon fillets. This grill can definitely help a family of 5!

If you use non-stick aluminum foil when you cook, clean-up will be much easier. I use my Forman...
...
