k2raus says "Don't buy LG!!!!" about LG Refrigerator - French Door Refrigerator - LFC25770ST

My new condominium came with a shiny LG French Door Refrigerator, Model LFD22860 - very much the same as the above model. Although it runs well I had the following problems:

The tracks to the freezer door broke.

The brackets for the refrigerator and freezer handles cracked and broke twice.

The top of the refrigerator door cracked in seven places.

The face plate to the water dispenser cracked.

After several service calls and twenty hours of my time waiting for Dalton Service in Albuqueque, nothing was resolved. After I got in touch with an LG customer "resolution specialist", and eighteen months time, they sent a new refrigerator. Of course it was the same model and now four months later the top of the freezer door has two cracks. I will never buy any LG product. By the way, I was informed that my "new refrigerator" did not come with a warranty because it was a replacement. So, I can just hope that it will continue to operate or I will have to buy a new refrigerator. I am not going...
...

When I saw this coffee maker I thought it was so awesome. I did think the price was high for a coffee maker but figured I would give it a try. I am so glad I did because I use this all the time. It give you size options for the portion of coffee you would like, press the botton and in 30 seconds your cup of coffee is ready. Its great for me because I am the only person who drinks coffee in my house so I dont have to brew an entire pot of coffee & waste coffee. Another great benefit is when you have company over. It great for everyone to be able to choose the coffee they want to drink. You are able to brew a few cups of decaf, a few extra bold, a few hot cocoa, a few hot tea, etc. Everyone is happy and there is no waste because it brews the portion you choose and the flavor you want in 30 seconds time. The only cons I have for this brewer is the vibration is loud when it makes the water hot but I put a hot pad underneath the brewer to help absorb the vibration. Also,...
...

Whirlpool GH5184XPT - Bisque / 1.8 cu ft Microhood Combo. This over-the-range microwave is super. It has 1100 watts with AccuWave, a feature that cooks evrything smooth and evenly. It cooks, defrosts, reheats, softens and/or melts butter, chocolate, etc. It has many handy short-cuts. It even heats your serving plates. 6th Sense cooking system that senses how hot the food is getting and automatically adjusts the power, so it doesn't power on & off constantly but with a smooth function as needed. It has 2 grease and charcoal filters. The unit also has 2 down-lights on each side. We really enjoy it and it looks great....

Blonde-n-Brains says "5.0 cu. ft. chest freezer is awesome!" about Kenmore Chest Freezer

We needed extra space for frozen foods, out refrig. freezer just wasn't large enough. We only go shopping twice a month, and finding place to store all the grocery's is a real challenge. I looked at many brands, and many stores before purchasing this freezer. I did find lower prices at a couple of stores, but the freezers were name brands that I had never heard of. After researching the brand names online, they are made in China, and they really don't have good reviews. So, naturally, I purchased the Sears freezer. It's a brand I trust!...

Our previous range died a sudden death and we were forced to go shopping for a new one.

We were thrilled to find a very classy looking black Kenmore range in the style our kitchen required. I had no idea just how slow to heat and cook my old range was until the new Kenmore range was installed. What a difference! Instead of waiting 10 minutes for a pot of water to start boiling, it happened in less than 3! It's a dream to cook on the stovetop and in the spacious oven! And I love the self-cleaning oven as well as the Delay cooking feature.

We get comments on what a sharp looking range it is with the shiny black finish and handle on the door and I think it adds a lot of class to our kitchen. I just wish I had bought a Kenmore to start with!

...

My new Kitchenaid dishwasher replaced one that came with the house. The difference between the two is like night and day. The Kitcheaid dishwasher is very quiet, also has a sanitizing feature, and is energy efficient. I like also that I don't need to scrape dishes, there is a food disposal area that grinds debris and sends it to the garbage disposal. What a great feature!!! Saves water in the process as we all know rinsing at the sink is a great waste of water!!!!! And the time savings is a plus too.

Also with 3 circulating water rinse areas, the dishes are truly rinsed well by the time the cleaning cycle is over. And it has many cycle options, plus air dry or heat dry.

I like that is has a sanitizing rinse, we don't need to share germs in our family because dishes carried an extra germ or two between washings. Dishes come out clean and sparkling every time!!
...

My Kitchenaid Superba refrigerator was the best purchase I made when moving into my new home. From previous experience with this brand, I purchased a new side-by-side and have found it to be most economical and spacious for my family.

The electronic controls make it easy for both sides to be perfectly climate controlled. The ice and water dispenser are the best feature, plus the filtering system gives a great glass of water everytime (and the ice cubes are great too).

I like that it has a kid-proof control too, keeps water and ice from flowing onto the ground by an inquisitive little hand.
...

We got a Maytag, 21.7 cu ft black rebrigerator with a top freezer and an automatic ice maker. It has split glass shelves, that are adjustable. It is energy efficient. It was important to me that I could easily adjust the shelves if I wanted to. I also enjoy the fact they have wide shelves on the inside of the door. There are only 2 in our family now, the family is grown, but always need extra refrigerator space when they are home at holiday time, and special days like birthdays. I am very happy with the new black look.
...

I went to my friends house for dinner and saw the Black & Decker Handy Steamer & Rice Cooker in use on the kitchen counter. I don't know what planet I have been living on, but I had never seen an electric steamer until just then! I always pictured the metal steaming pots you use on the stove. Anyways, I was totally amazed at what it could do so I went out and bought one that very same weekend.

I don't know what I would do without my Black & Decker Handy Steamer now that I have been using it for so long. I love that it is easy to use - just add water to the water tray and turn it on! It is also a very healthy way to cook your vegetables. It can also be used as a rice cooker, but I am old-fashioned I guess because I like to make my rice on the stove.

The Scoop!

Even if you can't or don't like to cook, you can use this steamer. Just be careful when removing the lid to the steamer after steaming; I have burned my hands from not removing the lid quickly enough.
...

Bought at Lowe's 3 months ago. Opened the door to retrieve an item this week and everything was totally thawed. Read warranty "does not cover cost for loss of food". When I called for service, it would be 2 weeks before anyone could come out, and three days before they even returned my call. This is a brand-new (didn't buy it used) 3 month old freezer. The door was not left ajar, there was no power failure. Oh-and they can't tell you which day they will be out to your house, you can't schedule an appointment for a specific time, they will just call you an hour or so before they get there. so, for those of us who work for a living, you have to give up a day's pay on top of the cost of all of your lost food that's now thawed out. Bad Bad choice. Will never buy a whirlpool again.
...

This Kenmore replaced a twenty-three year old GE Top Freezer. The GE was a great, workhorse fridge, so we were really picky about replacing it. When the GE finally wore out, we studied Consumer Reports, talked to friends and went to six appliance shops. We purchased the Kenmore top freezer from Sears because it was an exact copy of the current GE Profile, which we really liked. The Kenmore was priced lower and had one year same as cash financing, which was not offered by any local dealers.

So far the fridge has run flawlessly. The icemaker makes ice quickly. Shelves are easy to clean. There is a light in the freezer (really nice to see in there). The fridge beeps if a door is ajar. The electrical operating cost of the Kenmore is about five dollars per month. This is substantially lower than our GE, which was about twenty-five dollars per month. Please consider that we have Commonwealth Edison, and we pay about the highest rate per kilowatt hour in the country,...
...

My Kenmore dishwasher is one that features an adjustable top rack so that you can put larger items in the lower basket if needed. That is its one and only "best feature". This dishwasher was the top of the line Kenmore at the time I bought it approximately 4 years ago. I paid close to $500.00. It cleans better than the one I bought it to replace but that's about the only positive I can say for this machine. It has Smart Wash which is supposed to detect how much food is in the wash water to determine when the load is clean. Does not work! Dishes come out with bits of food all over etc. Has a Sanitizing Wash...who knows if it works? Has a Pots and Pans cycle that runs for over 90 minutes...still leaves food particles all over dishes when cycle is done. Has a Normal Wash and a China cycle which I rarely use so I have nothing to add here. The wash basket has a lifetime guarantee not to rust. However some of the white plastic caps that cover the individual plate......

I went to Lowe's planning NOT to buy a Whirlpool refrigerator. My last one (which was a higher end model) crapped out after 4 or 5 years. After speaking with the sales guy about the various models and asking specifically which ones were returned, I did go with the Satina. The guy at Lowe's said it wasn't fancy (and it isn't), but he said it was reliable. I'd rather have something that works than something that has loads of bells and whistles. He told me that this one just didn't get brought back in for returns. That sounded good.

The Whirlpool Satina is small. It's been fine for me and two boys - most of the time. There are times when I get sales on something and then can't fit them in the small top freezer. My Mom has more space, so I send these impulse buys over there - until we need them. If you stock up or freeze food from a garden, this is too small. If you eat week to week or across a couple of weeks, you're OK.

There would be more room if they did not have an ice maker. I guess an...
...

grama-ann says "Love the features of my Maytag side by side refridgerator" about Maytag Performa side by side

I've always wanted a side by side refrigerator so I could have the convenience of the freezer close by. Although I also have a large upright freezer, having the freezer side of the refridgerator is so handy. I love the textured outside which hides fingerprints. Also the glass shelves are so much better than their predecessors.

We purchased this exactly four years ago and it has been running beautifully. Until about 4-5 days ago when the compressor quit on us. Fortunately we did purchase the extended warranty which is totally covering the repairs now.

All in all we've been very pleased with our Maytag side by side.
...

We bought this refriedgerator after I did some research on other brands - got a steal on this particular fridge, so I can't complain too loudly. However - the brand I bought is not the issue. It's the style. After having a side-by-side style fridge for umpteen years, when we moved and I had to get a new one, I decided the french door bottom freezer was the way to go. Not. While the features of this style are attractive - I have a wide, slide out drawer (think junk drawer for your food), filtered ice & water in the door, sturdy wire baskets in the freezer compartment, adjustable shelves - it's the way the space is organized that is the problem. I considered the LG fridge that has the icemaker unit in the door, and it seemed to be a better use of space, but price was a problem. This fridge is pretty much the standard for where the icemaker is placed - upper left-hand corner - and it is one of the things that takes up a lot of space. Also, it seems like the way the shelving......
