kims62001 says "Great gas range on a budget! " about Hotpoint Hotpoint 30 In. Freestanding Gas Range Model # RGB530DEPBB

We just bought our first home and needed to replace the old gas range the owner's before us left. We had a lot to do so we only had a small amount of money to spend. We found this range for only $399 plus 10% off and it was very nice looking so we jumped on it. The delivery person had it installed in about ten minutes and it works great! It has closed off burners so food can't drip underneath which I really love. A timer and a clock are a nice bonus since our last stove did not have those. The dials are labeled very clearly and are easy to understand for your temperature settings. The knobs are extremely easy to turn on so we have to put safety covers on them to keep our little ones from causing a fire but that is not a problem at all. Overall, I am very impressed with the product for such a cheap price.
...

treasure60 says "The Tobi Qucik fabric steamer fall short of doing its job" about Fabric Steamer Tobi Quick

I bought the Tobi Quick fabric steamer because I needed to get some wrinkles out of my husbands suit he was going to be wearing in my daughter's wedding in a couple days. I went to a local department store that I knew had one. I purchased in on sale for $19.99. Which I felt was decently priced.

I got it home read the instructions, used the cup they provided to fill the tank, waited for the red light to go out, as suggested before using it. I hung the item on a hanger a proceeded to start the steamer going from top to bottom.

The first push on the button and the steam wasn't steam it was hot water spraying everywhere. I put in down hoping it only need to heat up more. I was wrong. I even emptied the water out and tried again, only to find it continued. It did spray steam a few times.

I ended up returning it to the store and told them why. I wouldn't recommend this product and worry that someone could get a serious burn from the hot steam.
...

Some of my previous coffeemakers have not held up very long
or looked any better than ugly lumps of plastic on my kitchen counter.
Enter my Cuisinart 14 cup programmable coffee maker. It looks very stylish
and is made of brushed steel and plastic.if you have the latest stainless steel
appliances this model will match your kitchen.i don't have stainless steel
appliances but this unit still looks good on my counters and seems to modernise
the decor a bit. The coffeemaker comes with a charcoal water filter to remove
impurities and odors from the water. An indicator light lets you know when to clean
the resevoir which will help extend the life of the coffeemaker. The programmable feature
is nice to have when you wake up in the morning and the coffee has already started
brewing. An automatic pause funtion is included ,in case you can't wait for that first
cup of java before the brew cycle is complete. Another nice feature is that the unit beeps
five times when the coffee is done just in case you've turned...
...

mdselwood says "Cleans well but runs out of steam before the job's done!" about Monster Eurfoflex Steam Booster Cleaner Monster Household Appliances

I had previously purchased an H2O steam mop and I really loved the way it cleaned. But just a few months after i got the mop, it broke. So I wanted to get another steam mop but another brand, one that might last. I thought the Monster steam mop seemed to be a better choice than the Shark because it had continuous steam. The Monster also offered a special steam trigger to release extra steam if needed, and four different steam settings. So I ordered the Monster. When I got it and first used it, I was disappointed in the water capacity, because this affects how long the steamer coud be used. Also, you had to wait for the steamer to cool down before you could add any more water. This makes a 30 minute job take about an hour and a half. The mop only came with one pad for use with the carpet glider, while it came with two for bare floors. The pads get wet quickly and then don't pick up any more dirt, so it would be nice to have a bigger supply included. I do like the fact that the pads are...
...

abbybob says "One cup at a time- perfect!" about kuerig keurig coffemaker

We got this as a wedding gift- something we were registered for and we never thought we'd use it...Boy, were we wrong!

My husband and I enjoy coffee, but we can't finish a pot and our regular coffee pot was often neglected.

The Keurig makes one cup at a time, which for our family is perfect, no wasted coffee, no forgeting to turn off the pot and coming home after a long day to a burnt, sticky mess. Once cup at a time!

The refills are a bit expensive, however, the ease of making one cup at a time and being able to have french roast for him and columbian for me is worth it. Check out sales and remember to use your Bed, Bath and beyond coupons and you can get some great deals. Amazon also has great sales on them.

Clean up is a breeze, and the option to make a smaller or a larger cup is great!

Many companies make K-cups (what the little "shot glass" looking things are called), so there is a variety in the types of coffee. There are also drinks like mochas and cocoa that are available too!...
...

SEARS SUCKS!!!! You have been warned.

Just a warning to anyone needing appliance repair service. DO NOT use SEARS. On 3 different occasions I have called Sears to have appliances repaired. I have had problems with them every time where they have not shown up for the appointments, did not schedule the appointments after taking them over the phone and they actually give me a conformation number, and even rescheduled an appointment and still did not show up. They have the worst customer service of any company I have ever dealt with. On my last call (number 3) to schedule an appointment, I even signed up for an extended warranty but then they never rescheduled the second appointment yet again they gave me a day and time range that someone would be there. Again no show....

NEVER AGAIN WILL I PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM SEARS OR EVEN STEP FOOT IN ANY OF THEIR DEPARTMENT STORES FOR ANY REASON. I JUST CLOSED MY SEARS CHARGE CARD, CANCELED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AND WILL CALL A LOCAL...
...

Teddy4922 says "5 years old and never an issue. Great furnace!" about Goodman GMH95 gas furnace high (95%) efficiency

I agree the installation is key. Our contractor that installed our Goodman GMH95 assured us it would perform flawlessly if installed properly, and he was right. In five years, other than our annual scheduled maintenance, we have not had to call him out for any problems at all. The furnace heats our home efficiently and superbly comfortably. We couldn't be more pleased.

By the way, one of our neighbors had the same furnace installed by another contractor who was the lowest bidder. They had several issues with the furnace, and the installing contractor went out of business within a year. Turns out they weren't even licensed and never even obtained the required permit for the installation. The furnace wasn't installed correctly, which caused the problems in the first place. Well, the contractor WE hired corrected the installation mistakes the other company had made, and their furnace has worked just fine ever since.

Just goes to show you that the old cliche "you get what you pay for" is...
...

I am really disappointed in my Keurig coffee maker. My daughter bought me the Keurig coffee maker for Mother’s day in 2008 because she has one and I loved it. I used her Keurig the entire time I was visiting her.

After I received the Keurig I called customer service because I could not understand why it was so noisy. The Keurig my daughter has is nowhere near as noisy as this one. The CS person told me to move it around on the counter or put something under it to muffle the noise. I have tried all of that and more for over a year.

Well now after only one years time it will not make a full cup of coffee. After putting up with the loud noise it made, now this. I figured it needed cleaning again, which I have done according to the directions in the past. Well I cleaned it several times and the same result. Actually cleaned it five times to no avail. All it will do is make a 1/16 of a cup at a time. Therefore, like I said I am really disappointed. I live...
...

I have owned whirlpool in the past that were fantastic so when I built a new home, all the appliances I put in were whirlpool. I really regret that decision. I have an oven that I just cleaned for the first time, (I don't cook much). It doesn't work after cleaning it. Reading on the web states this is a problem with this model. The appliance is over two years old and it doesn't matter if you have only used in a dozen times or more. Whirlpool stated out of warranty. I have a microwave so loud you can hear it in the back of the house. I have a dishwasher that doesn't clean. This is my second one. The first one I thought was a fluke so brought another whirlpool. I should have bought the brooklyn bridge too. I won't even talk about the cooktop. With the oven going out, I am just going to bite the bullet and replace all of them. Needless to say, it won't be GE or whirlpool.
...

catherinec says "As seen on TV" about Zip It Drain Cleaner

Zip it drain cleaner really works. clean and unclog your drain fast. Zip it is a long plastic tool with hook on it . You slip zip it down the drain. I like to turn it around, and pull out slowly to remove hair food etc. You will be surpise what comes out. Your not use any chemical so it environmentslly safe. You can use it on the sink, shower and bathtub drain. Using this I don't have to worry about chemicals eating away at my pipes.. I didn't have to use any more tools just the Zip it. Its fast and cheap, I found it for a little more then two dollars. I going to always keep one on hand, When they say amazing its true. Its poly construction, 20" length. Said it should work on most drains. When they say you don't have to remove the stopper its true. Just slip it in and pull out. I clean my sink drain and bathtub drain. The water is running out of both of them much faster. I had to tell all my family and friends about Zip it. Like I said before you will be surpise what comes out....
...

After finding this online, I ordered this for a remodeled garage bedroom. We had been using an electric heater as the only heat source during cold weather in spring, fall and winters. I had a heater with an adjustable temperature setting, but it still required turning it down or off when the room wasn't being used.

The WIN100 Heating & Cooling Programmable Outlet Thermostat, manufactured by Lux, saves both energy and a lot of hassles. The thermostat automatically reads the room temperature and controls the heater to preprogrammed settings.

I set to 58 degrees during the day when no one is using the room. It heats up to a comfortable 68 degrees before the alarm rings, then back down a few hours later.

It requires one outlet, can be programmed for daytime and night time hours for weekdays and weekends separately.

The low cost paid for itself the first month. Used for a year with no complaints.
...

I am currently having my heating system replaced. So here is my story. I have a 19 year old Lennox Pulse system that pretty much bit the dust. While attempting to do an operational check to get ready for those long cold winter nights in upstate NY, the system decided to just chatter and never came online. After extensively exhausting my engineering and electrical background, I finally broke down and called a service repairman.

First words of wisdom! Find someone locally that you know or someone you trust knows. ASK! Don't finger tab through the yellow pages. Check them out with the Better Business Bureau. It is even better if they have prior experience with your unit. A contractor insuring a quality intallation is more important than the brand of furnace!

For my dilemma, I just recently purchased the house and all the inspector did was check the unit for operation, no foresight into potential problems with age of the furnace. Seems all units are built for an average life of 12-14 years....
...

onwaytozion says "There ARE oil-fired tankless water heaters." about Toyotomi Oil-fired Tankless Water Heater OM-148

Our old water heater was on its last legs, and we needed a new one. We wanted a tankless heater, and they had electric and natural gas heaters, but we had oil heat. No body had heard of an oil-fired tankless water heater.

Until we finally found the Toyotami "Oil Miser" Oil-Fired Tankless Water Heater. The picture shows the empty space that was taken up by the old water heater, compared to the compact Toyotami.

We had some issues when it was first installed as we removed all the air trapped in the fuel line. We started to think that we had made a mistake. But now, we are very happy with it and it never gives us trouble.

The old water heater had a 30-gallon tank, so it used a lot of energy to heat the water periodically. The Toyotami only has a 5-gallon tank to keep heated, then heats the additional water needed "on demand." We have never run out of hot water once the unit is fired up.

Tankless is the wave of the future. And now you're not out of the race if you have oil heat!

ApriBambino says "a clothes steamer wrinkle remover that doesn't remove wrinkles" about Rowenta Ultra Steam Hand-held Steambrush

Rowenta Ultra Steam Hand-held Steambrush with Storage Bag

I purchased this Rowents hand held clothes steamer a little over a year ago figuring it would be a handy dandy tool to have for items that were otherwise difficult to iron.

I have these beautiful sheer organic cotton curtains that tend to get a bit out of shape when ironed so I used the Rowenta steamer on them, following all directions carefully, giving it time to create plenty of steam. I hung the curtains so I'd have more leverage while brushing and steaming them in a downward motion, it took several passes to see any kind of results at best. It never quite took out the wrinkles and left the fabric wet and soggy, not smooth and crisp which is what I expected.

Though it's easy to fill & use and has a good brush and long enough cord to move about properly I just didn't like the results on any fabric I used it on. I did give it several tries thinking I was doing something wrong but no, it wasn't me it was the steamer. After...
...

msmallari says "Good Coffee Maker" about GE Digital Coffee Maker Model Number: 169164

I love this Coffee Maker. My husband gave it to me as a gift and I thought it was sweet because he knows I spend a lot of money on coffee at Starbucks and other places. I works great and is easy to use. Doesn't take a genius to understand it's programming. GE is a great brand and it came with everything a coffee maker should come with. We got mine at Walmart for a a very inexpensive price and now I make coffee every morning to get through my hard very busy day with my kids. It even has it's own filter so you do not have to keep buying some at the grocery store. Saves you money that way too. It lets you know when it is finished brewing and even has a digital clock on the actual coffee machine. Mine is a sleek black and silver.

Over all it is quick and easy to use and understand. Makes Coffee fast and good tasting.

I would definitely recommend it if you are on a tight budget and who isn't these days.

sandysch says "Wouldn't trust a Goodman furnace ever again!!!!!" about Goodman GMH95 gas furnace high (95%) efficiency

We switched from oil to natural gas in 1996 and the contractor told us that the Goodman high efficiency was a great furnace. They sold them to several homes that were switching over in our town. Within the first year, the furnace was breaking down during the coldest months. There was a hose that would trap water and cause the furnace to kick off, usually during the night. We would have to go to the furnace and blow the water out of the tube and the furnace would start back up. By December 1999, we had to replace the heat exchanger as it was on recall due to it cracking. It broke down on New Year's Eve and because of the crack, the gas company had to shut down the furnace for a week until the new exchanger was replaced. We had to use micro furnaces to heat the house to prevent the pipes from freezing. Every year after, during the coldest months, we had to have the furnace serviced for different parts that broke down. We spent more time and money repairing it than we...
...

zrisner says "really a smoked taste" about Masterbuilt Masterbuilt 30 Electric Smokehouse

This is a hit at our house. The first time we used the Masterbuilt Electric Smokehouse, it was better than we ever ecpected. Truly, a deep smoked taste. We did chicken and prime rib at the same time. both were great and no fuss .......set it up and leave it til it's done. No checking even though it will smoke out of the top. we did not have to add extra water. This model has a large inside cavity and more space for a regular family to cook all they want. The Masterbuilt Smoker also comes with three shelves that you can put in or take out, according to your choice of things to smoke at the time. We will smoke a turkey soon. that should be the ultimate in flavor. No need to worry if the bird is too big with this Masterbuilt Smoker, even a large bird should have no trouble fitting inside. The door has a secure latch handle. I really like the feature that it is electric. no need to mess with nasty charcoal.
...

zrisner says "Handy Kitchen Necessity" about InSinkErator Instant Hot Water Dispenser

I use Instant hot water for a lot of things: tea, coffee, jell-o, cocoa, etc. Saves a lot of time when boiling water, having starting with already hot, steaming water We installed it ourselves and is so handy right near the faucets. Average priced and well worth it. Looks impressive to have extra do-dads on the sink, and makes me feel like an expert cook and kitchen connoisseur. It is designed with a very up to date stainless body and a black turn knob. The turn knob is large enough to actually get your grip around it so turning it 'on' is not a difficult chore but at the same time, is probably more 'child-proof' that those little levers that are on some other models. The flow of water is very good and because it is hooked up to the water line directly, you never have to wait for hot water nor is there a large 'bullet-shapped' tank that takes up a lot of space under the kitchen sink that could be used for useful items.
...

kbowman3737 says "I LOVE the HAAN STEAMER CLEANER!" about Haan Floor Steamer FS-20

This Haan steam cleaner is wonderful. I use it for my kitchen, bathrooms and hardwood floors. It works great and my house has never seemed so clean. I have 6 pads now so I can get every floor done in one cleaning. I am happy about not having to use chemicals to clean my house too. I have not had any issues w/ the cleaner except when I overfilled it once and it overflowed. Works great and I would not trade it for the world! I would recommend this to anybody who has hardwood flooring or tile. I also have a child who is allergic to dust mites so I use it on his bed and carpet. That was my main reason for purchasing it. I love the tray and the ease of use. The water gets very hot which makes for really hot steam and a very clean house. I love the adjustable handle also. My kids could even use the cleaner since the handle goes so low. My husband can't believe how clean our floors are now. He even commented about it after the first time I used it. I knew it was...
...
