We bought an LG TROMM washer and dryer 2 years ago. We despise them. Having had a Kenmore for 15+ years with no problems, the LG is a SAD, SAD, SAD comparison. If you do not take your clothes out of the washer right away, they will smell and you have to wash them again. This is because water builds up in the unit and turns stale fast. So if you do not do a tub clean with bleach frequently then the unit smells. The dryer has paint chipping off on the inside rim of the door frame. Ridiculous for something that is just barely 2 years old.My former Kenmore units looked brand new even though they were 15 years old. Save yourself aggravation and buy something else. LG is horrible.
...

Ok... this machine rocks!! I have 4 sons. 3 of them play contact football and get really dirty.

This machine gets everything super clean!!

I love all of the options for water temperature and load type.

It's very quiet too. Holds a ton of clothes and still gtes it all clean!

The spin function on it is awesome. When you get the clothes out they don't need very long in the dryer because they are almost dry. It does spin so fast that I end up ironing alot. I don't mind it though.

It's a great machine. I use it about everyday for at least 2 loads of laundry.

Highly recommend!
...

I just purchased this GE washing machine online through HomeDepot.com. I was in diarer need of a new washing machine because mine was not draining on the regular cycle and would have to put it on another cycle to drain, then put it on 2 different cycles twice to spin the clothes good enough to get the water out...ugh...what a pain...but kept putting it off, until my husband said enough already lets go get ya a new washing machine. So I went shopping around to different places to see what all they had. Gosh some of these washers are unbelievable with all their gadgets they come with now (it's been 13yrs since I shopped for new washer). I was not looking for all that and didn't need a bunch of added bells and whistles so to say. Finally decided on this GE one. This is very basic compared to the others, which was a plus for me. I can't say enough that I am glad I purchased this one. Right after the delivery guys helped set it up I put a load in, and left the room. Ended up going back...
...

BradleyJL says "Affinity Front Load - Drain Problems?" about Frigidaire Washer - Affinity Front Load

After doing some research on a problem with my Affinity Front Load washer that was showing an E23 error (problem with the drain pump or controller circuit), I am seeing that many people are having issues with the draining of the water at the end of the cycle. In my case, a wire from and underwire bra made it's way down to the pump and wedged itself into the impeller, effectively stopping it from spinning. Looking back to the days before this problem, I heard a noise that sounded like a playing card in the bicycle spokes, so it all made sense once I found the culprit.

Unfortunately (for us consumers) there is no easy - straightforward way to get to the pump, especially if you opt to stack the dryer on top of the washer. That would make life easier by far. There is an access hole in the bottom of the washer if you raise it up on blocks, but beware of the sharp edges. Other than that, you need to remove the fromt panel to access the pump. An internet search for a service manual for these models...
...

I suspected this machine design was defective when I did my first load. The sensor, when on rinse cycle and when washing kingsize cotton sheets, will only put a two or three inches of water in machine tub, meaning the sheets eventually will be worn out in washing, not from use. When washing bath mats, same thing. It has torn $80 worth of quality/expensive bath mats to shreds. I would NEVER recommend buying this machine, and just to save my clothes and other washable materials will probably sell or give it away and buy another.
...

I bought a Whirlpool Duet Sport Washer and Dryer in December, 2008. On October 26, 2009, the washing machine gave out. Not even a year old. The repair service recommended by Lowe's, where it was purchased, came out and said it needed a new computer. Waited one week for that to come. Wrong part. Now they say it needs a new main computer (whatever that is). Part is not available in Atlanta, Georgia. Don't know how long I will have to wait for that to come. Don't know if it will even work. Needless to say, I am not happy, having to drag my clothes to the laundromat. Neither Whirlpool nor Lowe's seems very interested in sol ving this problem even though the machine is still under warranty. A quality product would not break down in only eleven months. It needs to be replaced. I would not recommend any Whirlpool appliance or Lowe's to anybody/
...

We've been through two Sears Kenmore front load washers in the last 8 years! Prior to that we had a Sears top load machine for 23 years. Like most things today, everything made is throwaway. Be prepared to spend an additional $200.00 + on extended warranty because it is evident that Kenmore has zero confidence in product that they put on the market.

Perhaps all washers are like that now; can't say but I do know that Kenmore is a product that consumers should avoid!

When our washer finally kicked the bucket a little over a year ago the one thing that I told my husband our new washer had to be was super capacity. When the salesman showed us the Cabrio and I saw the 4.6 cu capacity my mouth was watering. Too bad I didn't know that I would soon have a serious case of drymouth. We didn't even have the washer 3 months when the drain pump went out. Luckily it was covered under warranty. There are serious issues with this machine. I just had to be without a washer again for 10 days while waiting for the repairman again. This was the second time in a year. Again there was a problem with the drain pump, a wire had come loose from a plug. Now I have been told that if you use the wrong amount of laundry detergent it can cause an issue with the sensors hence causing the drain pump to not work again! The only saving grace is that we purchase an addition 5 year extended warranty with this machine when we bought it. After that runs out, I don't...
...

Purchased Bosch washing machine 2 years ago and use just for my wife and I. During year 2 it quit spinning and we called a repair man. Cost was $400 for a motor control board!!! Almost 1/2 the cost of the machine.
It gets better - the repair man called the factory to get some help and all they did is just suggest various parts he could order (we pay for) until the machine was fixed. Lucky? for us the first one fixed it.
I e-mailed the factory to complain about the high cost of repair, low use and age of our machine, and to see if they would help - and ?- you guessed it - no reply!!
So my suggestion is to keep lots of money back for repair and don't count on the factory even recognizing you own the machine....

I am a single mom of two, when I bought my first home on my own, I bought the Bosch 500 nexxt series front loader, great reviews, and the dealer highly recommended it. I thought great, "I won't have to worry about purchasing another washer again for a while, wonderful energy saver". Almost to the date that my warranty ran out I have had nothing but problems, the rubber liner ripped...flooding my laundry room, and now the door is cracked along the inside edge down the front, it's not cracked in a place where I could have it on something,it is right along where the door hinges are, plus the washer is placed where if I open the door its not going to hit anything. BOSCH was NOT helpful at all..not in anyway, the person I was communicating with after many e-mails said he would refer my complaint to someone else....I never heard from them again. What a nightmare!! If you don't have the money to make many purchases or repairs I would not recommend this washer. The cycles take forever to wash a...
...

The Whirlpool Cabrio Washer is the absolute worst machine I've had! Even my old clunker was top notch compared to this. We purchased for the large load capacity, supposed ease of use, looks, and other features offered. So far, we have not been able to use the features -- they simply don't work! After about two years and a few servicings, we are down to using only the "Quick Wash" cycle and it usually stops 8-10 times per load. There are loud knocking noises, and that incessant buzzer when it's off balance has come to sound like nails on a chalkboard to us. We don't dare place large loads anymore, since they don't come clean and the stopping is ridiculous! It looks great, but as a busy Mom, I need it to function. Never, ever again!
...

I have had front load and top load washers but this one takes the cake. You can't hear it and it uses a lot less water. With some top load washers you can't smell the detergent or fabric softener and with front load washers your clothes don't get spun out completely. It is very gentle on my clothes unlike other top loaders. It is easy to use with places for detergent, softener, and bleach, my 2 1/2 year old does laundry!! (I'm not joking about that either) We have the clear top that we can look in and see what is going on and it provides entertainment for all who do laundry in the family.
...

I have had mine for 2 years, so this is a true review. While I love the water saving features of this machine and the fact that my teenager only has to program it to the type of clothing she is putting in it, literally TWO weeks after my 2 year warranty ran out, it broke. Electrical, computer issues... and they won't fix it. Forgetting the fact that it has literally eaten some of my clothes because of the lack of water and the over-zealous agitator.... For the amount of money I paid for this machine, GET ANOTHER. RUN from Sears...

I was told to get a Samsung after my Electrolux washer and dryer both broke after just 6 months of use. This washer lasted 7 weeks with very minimul use, the matching dryer is fine so far. I have waited10 days for a service call, which will be tomorrow. I am looking to buy a top loader again if this isn't resolved easily. The front loaders don't use enough water for my picky cleaning expectations. I am very concerned about the environment, but I want cleaner clothes and a washer that can handle more than one sheet or blanket at a time. Cleaning a rug is not an option in these machines, it is too hard on the balance of the machines. I say get a top loader with the least available electronics, use the gentle cycle and as little water as you can. These new front loaders are too picky with detergent and heavy loads, not at all worth the extra money, worthless really in my view.
...

I'm reading reports from others who say 7 years is the longest these can last.

It's poorly designed and designed to fail due to incompatability of aluminum and stainless steel leading to massive corrosion.

The HE2 Plus is no longer available.I loved my machine (when it was running)! Do your research on Kenmore, read the reviews because it is worth the time! Read them from every site you can find. It is important to leave reviews as well but one thing I suggest...wait 6 months to a year before you leave a 5 star rating! If you do write it early, go back and adjust your comment after it breaks down, no matter what model or brand you choose...you may just save someone from making the same mistake. I failed to leave a review after the first year of owning this machine and I feel awful about it. If you received a disfuctional machine keep after Sears to hear you out. It wasn't until we tweeted on Twitter that we FINALLY got some help. Sears is being very good to starighten out the issue for us I am totally impressed and excited that we may actually get to return to shopping at Sears again. We swore them off for a couple of years. Since the buy out from K-Mart we noticed all of the problems....
...

I have owned my neptune front loading washing machine for about three years now, and i really love it. It is a very heavy duty washer which hold bigger loads then your basic top loading machine. It does a great job at getting the clothes clean and i have never had to have the maytag man out to fix it either.

The wonderful thing about a front loader you don;t need to add as much detergent to it so you are saving a lot of money buy using a front loading machine so you are coming out ahead and i feel it uses less energy too.

so what you are saving on detergent and energy you really are coming out ahead.

And when you have the top of the washer for folding clothes it gives you that extra folding area if you have a shortage of space in your washroom this does help so much for folding clothes.

I am really waiting now for my dryer to get older so i can then buy the matching dryer, because i know that it also will save me more energy having the dryer also.

So if you are using a older washer...
...

LSCusick says "I will never buy another front load washer of ANY Brand!" about Bosch Nexxt Washer - 500 Front Load

I have been a Laundry Fanatic for almost 40 years...since purchasing this Bosch Machine I have gradually lost ALL of my whites...no matter what detergent I use...no matter what bleaching product I use...my whites are gray...and getting grayer...so discolored are they that I am going to have to begin taking them to a laudromat to keep from being embarassed when my husband changes clothes at work and other police officers get a look at his GRAY socks and underwear...I would gladly trade my one and a half year old front loader for my 25 year old top loader that I trashed when I bought this new one...we did SO MUCH research into what was the best...and I think we got rooked! I wouldn't recommend a Bosch Nexxt Front Loading Washer to ANYONE, EVER!
...

KSML26 says "Works well and easy to use!" about Whirlpool Duet Sport Washing Machine

The Whirlpool Duet Sport is a good washer. After having replaced two washers to get to this one, it is definitely a breath of fresh air. No worries with this washer. We have had it for a few weeks now and it has been cleaning clothes great. It is not too loud, clothes don't come out soaked, and it's all together good. I don't like the amount of space you have, after having come from a slightly larger washer this one seems a little small. It has very easy to understand controls, you just hit the button until the light changes to the settings you want and then hit start. That's it, simple. If you don't stack it with the dryer and you don't get the pedastal, it is a little too short and you have to practically sit on the floor when you're loading in the clothes. That is a bit frustrating but it is a plus that it is stackable in the first place. It is also an HE washer so it uses less water. A good thing. :)
...
