My old vacuum decided to quit working one day. I have two large dogs so I needed a new vacuum pronto!! I seen this vacuum and thought it looked promising considering the fact that PET is in the name of the product. I really debated on if I wanted to get a bagless vacuum. The price was right so I decided to go ahead and give it a try. (If I didn't like it I could always get another vacuum in a couple months and use this one downstairs) As soon as I got home I assembled it and decided to give it a test run. I was shocked at how much hair was on the carpet along with all the dirt and sand in the carpet. Granted it had been 2 days since I vacuumed last, but still. I've had this vacuum for a couple months now and I'm still impressed. My carpets look so much better and the house smells better too. I like all the various on board tools for the furniture and stairs. The only complaints I have about this vacuum is that it is a bit on the heavy side. And the beater...
...

Its light weight and pretty powerful. I didnt think I would ever buy another bag vacuum cleaner again.,after I used the kind that you just empty. But everytime I vacuumed with my old one i had to go back to the doctor and well i decided to quilt vacuuming and leave it to my husband. gee you know how that goes cause i got tired of waiting for him to vacuum. so I bought this oreck. glad I did.Oh and the bags I bought to go with it are great.

I chose this vacuum since our last Panasonic vacuum lasted over 15 years with little maintainance, cleaning afer a family of four. I have now had this vacuum for six months and I am disappointed by how poorly designed this vacuum has turned out to be. First, it is quite heavy and difficult to transport up and down the stairs. Pushing it around is a workout. After several months and a little breaking in, it is unable to stand upright on its own and must be left leaning against a surface since it is very top heavy and falls backward at the slightest touch. The latch for pushing to release the dirt door broke off almost immediately. The brush attachments fall out of their holders and have to be stored seperately. It is easily clogged by any moderate sized paper or dirt. The only redeaming features are that it is effective at getting up the pet hair from our dog (labrador) and cat, the retractable cord works well, and the handle is easily adjusted in height so that any member of the family...
...

storm1 says "loud but does the job" about Dyson Dyson Hand held vacuum Vacuum

I believe the entire Dyson vacuum line is great! Although I don't personally own the large sized vacuum, we did purchase the hand-held vacuum for everyday spills and messes around the house.

Many of you probably have heard of the Dyson vacuums - yes, they are quite costly, but they work. I have friends who own Dyson vacuums and they would not go back to any other vacuum.

The Dyson hand-held vacuum is great for around-the-house use, for your car, boat, anywhere you need the convenience of a hand-held vacuum instead of an upright vacuum. Although the Dyson hand-held vacuum is a bit heavy and loud, I think all of the parts in there is what makes it work so effectively.

The color is the standardized Dyson color - grey and orange. It also comes with an extra brush attachment if you plan on using it for carpets, rugs, curtains and things that require a brush for more accurate cleaning.

Although the price was a bit hefty than other hand-helds, this vacuum is far more superior and therefore,...
...

We were going to buy the DC07, but decided the DC25 was worth the upgrade....boy, were we right!!!
The main clencher is the ease of using the attachment tools, with the DC25, you just extend the telescoping pole, and, voila! you're ready to go!{the DC07 requires plugging/unplugging to use the attachment tools} I found myself attacking every corner and groove with specks of dirt/cobwebs in it (LOVE this thing for cleaning the ac intake grates and the fins of our air filters!)...most of them without ever having to bend over.
Of course there is the fantastic suction, but then, you expect that from Dyson's reputation...it was disgusting what it got out of our carpet (we have no pets, no kids, and don't wear shoes in the house; I vacuum very regularly, anyways) the first time.
If you don't think you'll use the attachment/tools much, the cheaper models might work for you, but if you appreciate being able to easily attack the tiny corners and grooves no upright can fit into, you're probably dreaming...
...

I've had this vacuum for 2 years now and I can't say enough good things about it. Having a Labrador Retriever and hardwood floors, I can't begin to explain the amount of dog hair that gets carried from room to room. Well, with this little guy, it all gets cleaned in no time. I wheel from room to room and get the job done within 15 minutes. Great suction and easy to empty. What more could you ask for? I would recommend this vacuum to anyone with hardwood and laminate flooring. I'm thinking of buying a second one for my camper and my friends want one for theirs. Cars are cleaned out easily with this little machine. It is very powerful, easy to manuever, very durable, lightweight, reaches under furniture and above drapes and into corners, etc, is easy to use on steps ... just attach an extension suitable to the already long cord and go. You can empty the cannister into the garbage; I have found it is best to clean the filter by tapping it outdoors as it catches a large quantity of dirt. Going...
...

I love my Dyson Animal Vacuum! I never have a loss of suction and that says a lot because we have 4 kids, 2 dogs and other small animals that we clean up after. My daughter and I have long hair so every so often I do flip it over and clean off the roller brushes on the bottom, but I have had to do that with any vacuum we owned. It came with a hard floor attachment, a brush attachment and crevice tool. We use them all! My only complaints would be that the hard floor tool does not attach to the vacuum when not in use and because we are always vacuuming up lots of people and dog hair that sometimes it gets stuck around the top of the canister....I am sure that is probably my fault for not stopping and cleaning it out more often. The canister holds a good amount but I do not always empty it. Sometimes it can be difficult to retract the wand, which drops down into the hose , and I think sometimes the hose compresses when it is on and so I sometimes have to turn off the vacuum to retract the...
...

snowbird1819 says "Oreck Classic XL Vacuum - Grandfather of Vacuums" about Oreck Classic XL Vacuum

I have always seen an ORECK used in my family, so naturally here I am a proud owner of 2 oreck vacuums. Even though it has a 1-year warranty, regular servicing keeps this going easily for at least a minimum of 8-10 years. It is really light weight, yet powerful enough to do a thorough cleaning job of picking and cleaning of the messiest mess.

The long cable length gives it the flexibility to take it from room to room without unplugging it all the time. The bags are easy to change, suction is great, the design is compact so it can easily slip under couches/ sofas to clean without too much of an effort.

The additional tools that come with this vacuum are meant for cleaning upholstery, especially pet hair is a bonus in itself. It is also used by me to clean my car and does a pretty thorough job of it too.

A little expensive but worth the money. The service is great and the loaner program is a way of keeping your mind at peace that you will still have a clean house, while yours is being serviced....
...

The Dirt Devil Cone looks nice on a table, which makes us more likely to use it. I have to admit it doesn't have the most powerful suction and you have to empty it often, but it is great from small messes or when an area just needs a touch up! We bought 2 for our house and one for my mom and one for my grandma when they were on sale. I like the fact that my kids can easily use it to clean up little messes. If you remember that this is made to just clean up a small area, real quick, you will be happy with this vacuum. The battery does not last that long but it is plenty long for small jobs and touch ups. We read reviews before we purchased the 4 we bought and so we knew that it was not intended for large jobs and that you can expect it to replace your vacuum by any means, it is really just a stylish vacuum for touch ups that you wont feel bad if you leave out when company is around. It is great to clean up dog hair that has collected in a corner or that left over strip from a dust pan....
...

We get so much use out of our Spotbot! It is a life and carpet saver! It is so quick and easy to use, we just pick the setting and leave it until we hear it beeping to tell us that the cycle is finished. We have 4 kids, 2 dogs and and other pets and boy does it com in handy! It also has a cleaning wand so you can pretreat stains or to get into hard to reach places. We had the clear top cover pop off of the cleaning wand, which made it so we could not use that part to such up the water. We just glued it back on and then it was fine. I am not sure what the warranty is on the Spot Bot, but we have had ours for about 2 and a half years or so, so I did not peruse trying to get it fixed under warranty. I like that the dirty water container is so easy to empty and clean out! I leave the clean water and the soap in the vacuum so that I can quickly grab it incase of a spill. It is just so nice to be able to set it on the spot and let the machine do all the work!
...

I purchased the Hoover Linx vacuum in September of 2009. It wasn't exactly cheap but it won't break your wallet. It seems like every time I go with the cheap vacuums that whole "You get what you pay for" seems to bite me in the butt!! I bought this vacuum because I needed something that was quick and easy to use on my hardwood floors. One of my favorite features is the Suction only/ suction+brush roll. It is so easy going from hardwood to rugs with just the push of a switch! The vacuum itself is also very easy to clean! The only bad thing about this vac is that I wouldnt use it on carpets. It's good for the rugs on your hardwood though. The canister also doesn't hold much dirt but it is easy to dump! The battery lasts about 15-20 min and recharging it only takes a few hours. It might be a good idea to buy an extra battery if you usually have more than 20 minutes of vacuuming. All in all I would highly recommend this vacuum!!
...

After years of struggling with a subpar vacuum (we won't mention names, Dirt Devil) our household finally decided to spend the big bucks for a quality vacuum. The one that got our attention was the DC25 Animal from Dyson that moves on a ball. Since we use the original Dyson vacuum in our secondary houshold and we've been extremely pleased with the product, we bought the DC25 sight unseen from an online distributor. Upon receipt, after assembling (not very complicated), we immediately utilized the product. DC25, you had me at hello! This thing is lightweight, moves without effort, can get under tight areas, and actually picks up dirt and pet hair! Additionally, the attachments are easy to use (simply pull out the hose from the main handle and vacuum away - again, unlike our previous retched cleaner that required you to change the setting from floor, which I constantly forgot to do and wondered why it wasn't picking up anything...), and the addition of the specialized tool for picking up...
...

I bought the Oreck Lightweight as a Christmas present for my mom a couple of years ago for Christmas and it is still going strong. It is so lightweight that what they say on the commercials and Home Shopping Networks is true: you really can lift them up with only your pinky. (Unless my pinky musles are just that strong!) Another plus to this product is that it is not bulky what so ever. It fits easily in our little closet and we take it out only about one a week, since it does such a great job cleaning our carpets, rugs and even hardwood. It transitions easily from the ceramic tiles in our house to our hardwood as well. Carrying it up and down the stairs is a breeze. Plus it came with a warranty that I'm sure we won't have to use since it is still working great. Our Oreck Lightweight makes vaccumming super easy and quiet. We have a little puppy who is scared of loud noises but with this, she doesn't even whimper!
...

I love my Bissell Cleanview Bagless Vacum Cleaner. I have had mine for 3 years now I would never get rid of it unless it broke all together. Even then I would buy another one immediatly. This vacum cleans my carpet in a matter of seconds, the suction can just about pick up anything. I hand clean every filter and clean all the parts regularly for maximum cleaning power. I do occasionaly have problems with clogs in the hose but I have to say that that would be my husbands fault for vacuming up random objects. I really enjoy the fact that this vacum has multiple settings. The setiing for bare floor works great on my tile and makes my day easier because I can just mop afterward instead of sweeping again and again. The number one reason I like this vacum has to be because I save so much on not buying bags. With 2 dogs I'd fill up 2-3 bags a week with any other vacum! Yep there is that much hair.
...

Wow! I love my Shark Steam Mop! My house has laminate and tile floors throughout and this is exactly what is needed to keep them in the best shape! Even my grout lines look great!

Sticky messes are no match, as are crayon marks and even markers! This little mop cleans them all up.

I have two dogs and two cats. Last year, I lost a dog to bladder cancer. Due to the cancer, she often had 'accidents' in the house. This mop would make quick work of not only cleaning the floor, but sanitizing it as well. There is no odor of urine left behind, just a clean chemical-free odor-free room!

I have actually rubbed the steam mop over my area rugs, but without the little pad on it, to let the steam deodorize and clean the rugs. It works great, getting out any odors and refreshing the fabric like new! This is truly one of the best investments I've made and I would hightly recommend it.

Moms of little kids should especially consider buying one. It is quite the time saver!

The Bissell Spot Bot really caught my eye. When we had our daughter, I thought this would be the answer to all the oops that can happen. I have to admit, I tried the Spot Bot on a grease stain our treadmill left on the bedroom carpet and it removed it flawlessly. I used this wonderful "bot" on everything my child could spill and the mess my cats left behind. I was impressed more everytime.

Just after the warranty expired, things started happening. First the brush on the bottom stopped working. I was so happy with the Spot Bot I purchased another. From the beginning, the suction on the rotating brush wasn't very strong. After using the Spot Bot, we would have to use the hand tool to suck up a large amount of leftover water. Then, the hand tool started leaking, the next day, the soap tank leaked out and all through the inside of the machine and onto my floor and smelled of mold and mildew. I called customer service and was rudely told to take it to an authorized...
...

keriking says "The Electrolux Versatility is the best vacuum I've ever used!" about electrolux versatility Vacuum

This vacuum has everything! The controls are buttons and it has a floor and carpet setting. It has an indicator light for the brush roll and the filter. The hose is clear so that if it gets clogged you can see what is clogging it and where it is clogged. The suction is great and it has a hepa filter. It can also be used with the Arm and Hammer filter to block out any odors. It is bagless and has one touch emptying. It is easy to take apart to change filters. The handle is telescopic and can reach up to fourteen feet. It also comes with the crevice tool onboard and the dust brush attached to the telescopic handle. It also has the small brush roll that can be used on upholstery. It picks up pet hair wonderfully. It got dog hair that I did not even know was there. I can stand on the floor and reach all the corners on the ceiling with no stretching and I do not have to stand on anything. This is the most amazing vacuum I've ever had!
...

MyHockeyBoys says "Bissell Pet Hair Vacuum is terrible!" about Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Vacuum

I read many reviews and decided on this vacuum after reading everything about it. Please do NOT waste your money! i have 3 pets.......1 Lab, 1 English Mastiff and a cat plus 2 boys ages 12 and 15. I vacuum every day! This vacuum lasted 5 months. First the wheel adjustment broke, then the seal on the hose. And I absolutely HATE the canister! When you need to empty it alot falls out onto the vacuum or the floor. Its quite messy. You will be very disappointed with this product as I am. I am now looking for another vacuum.
...

RudiXeno says "Black & Decker CHV1400 14.4-Volt Cyclonic DustBuster: Finally!" about Black & Decker CHV1400 14.4-Volt Cyclonic DustBuster

I've long had a love/hate relationship with Black & Decker DustBusters. I loved their portability, but always found them underpowered and nasty to to clean.

So, when we were looking to replace our ancient and failing DustBuster DB200, I was inclined to look at several different brands. For one reason or another, portable vacuums by Euro-Pro, Bissell and Dirt Devil didn't appeal to me.

Then I spotted the Black & Decker CHV1400 14.4-Volt Cyclonic DustBuster. It had a substantial look to it. I was impressed immediately to learn that it was powered by a 14.4V battery.

More Power, More Run-Time

By the time we were replacing our older unit, its run-time was no more than 5 - 6 minutes. This new DustBuster claimed that fully charged it would provide 15 minutes of continuous run-time. That seemed more than adequate to me for routine use around the house.

But what really got my attention was its relative suction power. Measured in air watts, the new model was rated at 25, while our...
...
