This humidifer works fine, increasing the humidity level of the room quickly but the water seems to run out quickly. It is advertised as lasting upto 36 hrs but it barely lasts 8 hrs on low speed. Noise is comparable to other humidifers. — The claim of the filters being permanent is not true. They need a lot of cleaning every few days & if you forget to clean them they become useless with the filters becoming black & moldy. Apart from that very season you have to change them as shown in the manual. —...

I have purchased so many humidifiers in the past only to find that they really don't work wel & have been tossed. I purchased this one hoping it would throw out the moisture needed in our rather large family room that is always dry. This little machine really throws out the moisture, has a timer on it or it will run til dry which I really like cause it doesn't leave any water laying to build up bacteria. But, I must warn you that you must put it somewhere that it will throw out the moisture & not damage furniture. I had a hard time finding a place to sit it until I thought of my top of our fireplace. It's made up of white split rock so the moisture can't hurt it plus it throws it out far enough that the mist drifts in the air rather than falling on anything. I also like the blue light that stays lit while it's running. Serves the purpose needed but needs to have some adjustable knob to have the mist go where you...

StephKaye says "The perfect vaporizer/humidifier for me" about Vicks V150 1.5 Gallon Humidifier

I had another Vicks vaporizer that I had to get rid of because it was too complicated! It used filters that had to be replaced. — — This vaporizer, Vicks Warm Steam (model numbers V105SG, V150SG), is much easier. No filters. You put the water in it, and plug it in. Voila. It makes a gentle, quiet bubbling sound sort of like an aquarium pump. You can see the steam coming out, and Vicks says heating the water to steam kills up to 96% of bacteria. — — Another great feature is that it turns itself off when it's empty. It has a dim green light that lights up when it's on. This might bother some people, but when I'm sick, I have all kinds of stuff on my bedside table (tissues, cough drops, etc.) and it's actually handy to be able to see them. — — Also, there is a place to put Vicks or Kaz inhalant. You could put the refill strip from one of those outlet vaporizers in there too....

I used to sleep with the Holmes HM1280-HU Cool Mist Humidifier in my bedroom. I have allergies, sinus issues caused by the allergies, and moderate-to-severe asthma. A friend suggested using a humidifier to help with the asthma and dry nasal passage issue. I set this machine up in my room and was very comfortable when I went to sleep for a year... Then I met my fiance. More on that later. — This humidifier holds 2.5 gallons of water which is enough to run it for 24 hours straight on low. It has a low and high setting for you to control the amount of cool mist dispensed into the air. Because this humidifier has no built-in sensor, you need to use a hygrometer and the fan settings to maintain your desired humidity level. — It worked well for me. The bedroom was nice and humid which allowed me to sleep comfortably. Unfortunately, my fiance cannot sleep with any type of noise in the bedroom, so I had to stop using the Holmes...

To the Point — — The Hunter Low-Maintenance CareFree Humidifier Plus is one of several humidifiers we have in our house. Not only do our fingers crack but our hardwood floors expand if we don't keep humidifiers going. — — A Closer View — — This has a 1.75 gallon tank and is said to be good for rooms up to 1350 square feet. We have it in our living room with another smaller one on the other side and it never has gotten up to the humidity level we want. The output of 2.5 gallons is how much humidity it will put in the air. — — I guess the NiteGlo that we have, which not all models have, is a cute little option if you keep it in a child's room; however, unless it is on low it's very noisy. During the day I keep it on low so I can hear myself think! — — The NiteGlo will work even if the humidifier isn't on. It has a high and low option. — — It weighs about 9 pounds and measures about 13 inches across by 11...

I bought this when my daughter just couldn't shake the ending of a cold. It worked well on her cough and runny nose, but it did make the room quite warm. I just left her door open a little at night to keep it from getting too warm. In one of the other reviews, there was a complaint of water collecting on the ceiling. I did not notice this when it was in my daughter's room, possibly because I left the door ajar. It has a small area for using essential oils, which I liked. I used a little eucaliptus oil in it for soothing. Just be careful to only use a drop or two, the steam makes it go a long way. I am happy with the humidifier being in our living room, just so the air isn't so dry. Hopefully this will cut down on the colds a little bit. I bought this on sale for $15 I think, and am pleased with the value. ...

We placed this in our bed room and as soon as we plugged it in the thing started making this terrible sound. I thought that it might be that we just plugged it in and that it needed time to suck the water up and start working...WRONG! Several hours later we went up to bed and found that it was still making the noise, we had to unplug it just to get some sleep! — Another thing that I didn't care for was that it didn't have an on/off switch, you just plug it in for on and unplug it for off. There were no setting switches either, so you have no choice if you want a little or a lot of humidity. The base of it was also a bit cumbersome to carry when full. I highly suggest you find something else. —...

I recently moved and the house I'm in does not have a furnace humidifier. So I went and purchased this warm mist model for the winter. So far we are very happy with its performance. We at first left it on all night but realized even in our large room that it was getting too humid so we now set it on 42 so it turns off and on as we need more humidity. This has been a terrific investment especially with colds where adding moisture seems to have helped immedieatly. — We have had a problem with it sometimes getting stuck at 20 on the humidistat and all you do is turn it off and let it cool down and it fixes the problem. We have not had this problem when we set it to a humidity level to turn off at. — I would and have recommended this product to friends partially because of its low price ($50 at Home Depot) and the fact that it can keep a large room humid something the little Vicks model we had couldn't do. —...

Easy to fill, handle on the top and bottom of the water container. —

I have read tens of pages of reviews about lots of different models and types of humidifiers. — I thought I should pay extreme attention to a product in which electricity and water were coming together. This was especially a potential problem in case of ultrasonic humidifiers because they are delivering high amounts of moisture without heating the water, so there is always the possibility of that cold water landing right next to the humidifier. I really wanted to avoid an electric device sitting in a pool of water, especially if that pool is going to be on my carpet... So after long and careful consideration I bought this, and I am VERY SATISFIED. It does not wet around itself, it is capable of delivering high amounts of moisture without causing that problem. It works very quietly, has a nice volume reservoir so it does not need frequent refills and it is a cute decorative addition (has different styles, we have a cow and a frog) especially for kid's rooms. We run it in...
