The Delonghi Oil Filled Heater is a simple, time-tested design that has not given me the slightest hint of trouble. It always emits large amounts of heat that are able to heat up much of my house (1500+ sq ft) believe it or not.

The massive surface area that is availible to heat the air around it is the ultimate reason for the effectiveness of its simplicity.

It's also on wheels so if you need to move it from room to room it's a breeze too!

It makes almost no noise, and the simplicity in its design gives it massive surface area in a small space so it can heat up much more air than standard units.
...

wkimm says "The Delonghi heater serves it's purpose, for a reasonable price." about DeLonghi Heater - Oil Heater - Radiator

The Delonghi electric space heater is portable and extremely efficient. Once the oil heats up in it, it radiates the heat, without the threat of safety issues you have with coil heaters and kerosene fueled heaters. I would recommend this type heater to anyone needing a supplimental heater to take and keep the chill off, takes a bit of time to heat up a larger area. It's safe enough to leave it plugged in and on overnight and has an automatic cut-off if it should overheat, it's efficient and effective. I haven't had to cut on my furnace this year, of course, I live down south, but we've had some freezing temps this year already....

mrssnell says "Don't try to sleep with this heater running!" about Honeywell HZ-3220BP 360 Surround Tower Heater

There's no doubt that this Honeywell space heater has the capacity to heat a fairly good-sized room. Given its size, that says quite a bit for such an inexpensive secondary/accessory heat source.

We bought this space heater at WalMart last year, because our girls, both of whom are southern dwellers, freeze their butts off when they're here to visit, other than in summer.

The Honeywell HZ-3220BP model, however, is noisy, which is fine during waking hours, but really not so good at all if you can't sleep with constant noise. This is not a bad product, but is one I really wouldn't purchase again for that reason. We couldn't even use it at our camp during the cooler nights, and have elected to find an oil filled radiant heat model.

No noise = A Good Thing. :)
...

i checked the reviews and thought i would go ahead and check the cheap way out bought a patton heater - maxflow raident heater for $27 at walmart i figured it was worth a shot since it was so cheap(and could take it back since it was walmart). This product tottaly amazed me in 3 hours. I have a open living room and dinning room that is 15f by 25ft. Before i got it i had a holmes model # hqh308 that isnt bad but wouldnt heat the room to a comfortable temp and really only helped when you were 6FT close.

When i brought it home and pluged the patton raident heater in i wanted to take it back with in an hour. I figured i got what 27 dollars got me. So i turned the holmes on 2 hours later its was startin to get warm. 3 hours later i tottaly turned off the holmes and turned the patton down to the 1000w setttin because it was like an oven. I could not give it a bad review at all some complain about the noise but the 65 dollar holmes is just as loUd and brighter THANK YOU PATTON.
...

The Lasko 5800 Ceramic Electric Heater is a good model. You can choose what temperature you want for a small or medium size room and it will heat it extremely well. I find this heater to be safer than many others because it doesn't get too hot to the touch. I have a toddler so this is very important. If he were to touch the heater at the vent(where it gets hottest) it would be hot, but it wouldn't burn him. With the temperature setting you don't use any more energy than necessary to keep a room at a comfortable temperature. This heater can be used up against a wall so it doesn't take up much space, and is fairly stylish. I have been very satisfied with my Lasko 5800 Ceramic Electric Heater so far, and I've had it for 3 years!...

Over the years I've come to find that my Pelonis Oil Filled Radiator Heater has been a great way to keep rooms in my house warm when I haven't wanted to heat the entire house. Why's that? It provides a nice steady heat when it's running, the entire unit is practically silent and I just think it's safer to use than your standard ceramic heater.
The Pelonis looks like one of the old fashioned radiators you'd find in an older home and when it comes to the way it functions, it really follows that model. There's an electrical element inside the radiator that heats up the oil inside. The oil in turn warms the radiator itself and that lets Pelonis gives off a steady stream of heat and provides some warmth after you've turned it off, since the radiator coils and the oil stay warm for a bit.

There's a standard plug with the Pelonis and the cord is about 6 feet long. That's enough to move your unit around in most rooms. In addition, the wheels on the bottom of the unit make it even easier...
...

I bought two of these Lasko heaters on sale at Target..... they are great little heaters! It has an auto shut-off and the option to run fan only..... also adjustable thermostat..... I actually had to get up and turn it down before it reached the temperature setting because I got too warm. I have exposed brick walls that run the length of my apartment and it gets pretty cold in here during the winter. With the cost of utilities, I was looking for ways to cut down.... 68-70 degrees is still cool in my apartment so heaters are a big help..... Love them!...

We've had this Lasko Ceramic Elements tower heater for about 3 years now, and so far we are very pleased with its' performance. This portable Lasko Ceramic Elements heater heats any room within minutes, and it also comes with the functions to raise or lower its' temperature. We've had to move it to various locations in our home, so the fact that it always stays cool to the touch (no matter how long it's been running) has been a very important asset. The Lasko Ceramic Elements heaters also oscillates to help spread the heat evenly through-out your space, and best of all it's very 'affordable', I think we paid less than $50.00 for it....

We had this for a year now. Its a good little heater. It has 2 knobs on the front. The one controls heat the other has a setting for just the fan no heat and two settings for heat. There is also 2 lights one shows when its on, the other says caution. It has 2 handles on the front and one on top. It will turn off if you try to move it very fast or it gets knocked over. Which is great. The cord is pretty long.

We live in Fl. and have a well insulated house so far all we have used is this heater and one other to keep the house warm. With the ceiling fans I think this will be all we need for heat.

I hope it last for a good while. Only using it for just a little bit last winter then now. We will have to wait and see. We bought this at Lowes for less than $10 it was on sale. I wish we would have bought a couple more.

Here is what they have about it on the net.

HEAVY-DUTY DESIGN Perfect for many applications, this all-metal portable utility heater with roll bars ensures durability and safety.

I feel that since the cost of heating our homes is still an issue, along with the high cost of products we use everyday in our homes, I needed to let everyone know that I myself have tried several alternate methods of helping to ease the pain of the cost of oil.

Last year, I bought 3 Delonghi oil heaters, at the price of 37.49 each, at Lowes.

This year , I bought 2 more. I was so impressed with the constant even heat that they produce in each room, that I decided to give a real try, by using only the Delonghi heaters in each room and keeping the thermostat off all day and only using the furnace at night. Of course, I shut off the heaters at night, and in the morning, I turned them back on, and because the house was still warm from the furnace , they kept the rooms comfortable all day. I also put one in the basement , so that my water pipes would not freeze during the day.

                  I was...

...

Suddenly, Los Angeles nights are cold, and the air is whistling through the spaces in our oddly-fitting old windows. Brrrrrrr.
So... I've just dragged out two of our three DeLonghi heaters and spaced them appropriately for dog Shelby, cat Vivo, and "Mom" (we're often cold) and dog Dolce and "Dad" (the hot-bodied creatures around here).
The older, larger heater has wheels but is a pain to move over thresholds and throw rugs. If I need to heft it while hot, I have to go out and get potholders from the kitchen. Some convenience, huh?
The smaller, newer DeLonghi is imprinted with the word "Solaris". Whatever significance that has, I am delighted to report that this model has hand grips as well as wheels and is the perfect size for our bathroom or small bedroom. I just toddle it around, hot or cold.
In the course of 15+ years, we've disposed of only one DeLonghi -- a long-serving helper that started to ooze a little oil. It probably had some years on it yet, but......

My extra room was not built the right way, so I need extra help in the Heating/Cooling department. In the past 3 years I have had to improvise in order to keep the office comfortable not only for us humans but my babies as well. The office not only houses the computers but 3 very picky Cockatiels that prefer it to be between 72 and 78 degrees year round. Well 2 weeks ago when the weather started getting cooler my old heater decided to retire on me so I went in search of a new one and was able to catch one on sale at Walmart.

Lasko Cyclonic Ceramic Heater - Model 758000

Standing about 2 1/2 feet tall and light gray in color this little beauty weighs in at about 15lbs. You can also safely place it against a wall if you desire or like I did in the center of the office between the 2 desks. My birds are perched between the desks on a stand so they stay warm and cozy that way. Besides it was the only place I could put it without having to use an extension cord....lol

This heater has 2 power levels,......

Sheffield says "The EdenPure 1500 heater is the prettier version 1000 model." about EdenPure SunTwin STW1500 Elite Portable Space Heater

So, as you may have guessed from above... this EdenPure Elite 1500 space heater is basically the Edenpure 1000 model but fancier. The 1500 version has wooden casing that it's ugly step sister does not have. To me, both edenpure space heaters offer the same functionality but one is simply more pleasing to the eye than the other. My 1500 model sort of doubles as an end table in my living room....

Sheffield says "My EdenPure 1000XL keeps my space heated really well." about EdenPure 1000 XL Quartz Infrared Space Heater

The EdenPURE 1000 XL Quartz Infrared Portable Heater heats up to 1000 square feet which is plenty for my apartment. This space heater is pretty pricey coming in at around $350 but for me, it's been worth it. EdenPure heaters come with remote controls for those lazy folks like me. The filters are washable. Plus, I believe most EdenPure heaters come with a 1 year warranty.

Space heaters are not the most attractive home appliances. I do not really like the color and bulky shape of my edenpure but hey, it's a space heater right? How pretty can they be?...

mrssnell says "I hope this space heater lasts forever!" about Holmes Heater - Space Heater - Ceramic Compact

I purchased this little heater in 2001, and it's still going strong. We use it in our bathroom on frosty northeastern mornings in the Autumn and winter.

Within less than 5 minutes, the Holmes Ceramic space heater will sufficiently warm a 12' x 12' area. There are a variety of settings, and I don't think in our smaller bathroom I've ever turned the settings to "high".

The heater I have is an ocillating model, a feature I've just now discovered no longer works on my aged heater, (I never used it, so this is a moot point for me). There is a bit of a flimsy little filter in the back, encased in an easily removed housing for the purpose of cleaning, or replacement of said flimsy filter. It's necessary to wash this thin filter regularly for optimum performance. I just rinse mine off with warm water and let it air dry, pop it back in and snap on the lid.

Maybe it's a bit much to ask, but I hope this unit lasts forever. I've never seen a reasonably priced area space heater work so...
...

SevenOaksWriter says "Great warmth and fits in with my vintage decor" about Dimplex Electric Fireplace - CS4416

I'm always cold. No matter what the temperature, as soon as the blustery fall winds start, I turn on the heater. Since I keep my space heater out year-round, I wanted something that was functional as well as beautiful. The Dimplex electric wood stove fit the bill. Not only does it provide great warmth, the natural-looking electric logs give my office a cozy feel. The design also fits right in with my vintage decor and my preference for keeping everything, even convenient appliances like the Dimplex electric wood stove, looking as if it came out of an antiques store.

This little stove heats my 12 x 12 office (a converted bedroom) and often provides enough warmth to open the door of the office and allow the heat to flow through to the other rooms. When not in use as a heater, I use the top section as a desktop space.

I love my Dimplex heater and cannot say enough good things about it. It's easy to use, provides great warmth, and adds vintage charm. What more could you want in a...
...
