My DeLonghi space heater is awesome! I have one at home in my loft which tends to get drafty due to my skylight and extra window up there, but I also have one that I bring with me and leave at work in the cold weather. It fits under my desk and keeps me and my toes warm and cozy. It has lasted several years and has an oscillating feature to spread the warmth around the room. I never get that burning smell that sometimes comes from other lower quality heathers and I have purchased these as gifts for friends and family as they go down in price as the warmer weather approaches. If the item tips over, it shuts off automatically, so this is definitely a safety conscious product. I have always been able to trust Delonghi products and that brand has been purchased by me and my family for many, many years. It is durable and trustworthy and to me that it what it is truly all about!! I don't mind spending my hard earned money on Delonghi products.
...

I have a patton space heater. I originally got it for work because the price was right and the ac makes me freeze. What i like about this heater is that there is a cutoff should it get too hot... which can be a lifesaver. I have had something fall in front of it and once it got too hot it shut itself off, great if you are like me and forget to turn it off sometimes! It has a knob to choose heat setting from low to high... i find when its on low basically nothing happens. Perhaps if it was freezing outside it wuold turn on or something. there is an oscillate feature, which i never use but it works. Has a low and high fan setting. The only real problem i have with this is that it takes a bit to warm up, but once its on it gets HOT. I keep one under my desk and often find my feet sweltering, but due to its small size im surpised it has that much power. Im overall pleased with my heater and if you are looking for an inexpensice, portable heater, this may be the one for you....
...

I received this Lasko Model 5620 Silent Room Heater as a replacement for a recalled oil filled heater. I had no idea this could heat a room as efficiently and quickly as the oil filled heater. Wow! Was I in for a surprise. Not only is it thermostatically adjustable but it is also programmable in one hour increments from 1 to 8 hours or can be set to run continuosly. It has performed so perfectly that we no longer use our central heating but use a second Model 5620 in our bedroom. I plan to order three more and completely eliminate our central heating system which sucks up electricity at an unacceptable rate.
...

suuze13 says "This Eden Pure 1000 is very quite and really heats up a room." about Eden Pure Model 1000

The Eden 1000 gives off very comfortable heat that is not a drying heat.
This heater heats a very large area and has appropiate safety features. If it is turned over, it will shut its self off.
This heater is cool to the touch so that if a small child should touch it or even sit on it, it will not burn them at all. The heater is a compact, square box that will go into almost any room.
During the summer, I even cover it with a small cloth and put an artificual arrangement on top of it. This give an appearance of a short table in the room.
We have been using this heater now for about two years and are very pleased with it. As matter of fact, we are even considering buying one for our master bedroom, thus we will be able to turn the thermostat on our whole house heater down. This way we save on gas and electricity.
The cost of this heater is pennies a day as compared to using our whole house heater. It is light weight thus we are able to move it into different rooms when we need it.......

The Honeywell HZ-7200 is one of the best heaters that I have personally ever owned! If you are looking for an inexpensive way to keep your room warm durring those cold winter nights, go and get yourself one of these, you won't regreat it! This heater has adjustable heat thermistat that you can adjust to the temperature of your choice, it will go on and off to maintain that temperature. It is very quiet, I can't hear it running at all! If this product happens to get tipped over, it will automatically shut off until it is in the right position. It is cool to the touch too, unlike some other brands/models. You don't have to worry about your children burning themselves if they happen to touch it! It has a light indicator which tells you when it is on. There is only one thing that I could see that might cause a problem to some, the cord is very short. This in my opinoin is a safety feature, in that it ensures that the cord is not long enough to trip on. Trust me though, you will not want this...
...

This little heater is great. We have been saving to pay cash for a new furnace this winter and have not turned on our heat yet this year. We have had some pretty cold nights here in GA and this little heater has kept our bedroom toasty!

The controls are great. There is a high and low setting and each of these settings has varying temps to choose from. Starting at 65 degree's and stepping up in 5 degree increments all the way to 85 degrees. It has internal temp recognition that makes it turn on when the room temp drops below the desired temp.

We even take this heater camping. We camp in a tent and hook up this heater to warm the tent. It is wonderful. It keeps the tent warm and our chihuahua is happy for the heater.

I would recomend this to anyone who is looking to heat their bedroom for the evening or it would work great in an office too. It is light, compact and easy for anyone to use anywhere.
...

I Love my Calore Ceramic Heater!! It has a handle and is very compact so it is very easy to take out of the cabinet each morning and use while I am in the shower during the cold fall and winter mornings. It heats very quickly. I would definitly recomend this model for small spaces. It even turns off and on when it gets hot enough or too cold depending on what heat setting you are using. I bought it at wal-mart and it was VERY inexpensive. Now that I know how well it works I would have payed double for this heater. One day my huge boxer puppy pushed the door open to the bathroom when I was in the shower and he knocked over the heater. I didn't know until I got out and was very pleased to see that It automatically shut off when it was knocked over. I'm very pleased!
...

IF YOU ARE HEATING YOUR HOME WITH A PORTABLE HEATER. IT DOES A GOOD JOB ON 2 ROOMS. IT WOULD COST US MORE TO REPLACE OUR GAS FURNACE DOWNSTAIRS SO A PORTABLE HEATER WOULD BE GREAT AND IT DOES NOT RUN UP THE ELECTRIC BILL NEITHER.OF COURSE YOU NEED A PORTABLE HEATER IN EACH DOWN STAIRS ROOM TO BENEFIT THE COLD OUTSIDE TEMPERATURES. THE HEATER IS GREAT IF YOU TIP IT OVER BECAUSE IT SHUTS OFF. THERE IS A HEAT ADJUSTMENT ON THE SIDE TO MOVE YOUR HEAT LOW TO THE FLOOR OR HIGH TO THE CEILING. IT HAS AN AUTOMATIC SWITCH TO TURN IT ON WHEN IT GETS A CERTAIN TEMPERATURE IN THE ROOM SO IT TURNS ON BY ITSELF. IT HAS A REMOTE CONTROL OR YOU CAN USE THE HEATER ITSELF TO ADJUST SETTINGS. THIS TYPE COSTS US ABOUT 8O.00 DOLLARS PLUS TAX. IT IS VERY LIGHT IN THE SIZE AND WEIGHT OF THE HEATER. IT IS EASY TO CHANGE FROM ONE ROOM TO ANOTHER. IT USES A NORMAL PLUG OUTLET.
...

I've recently purchased the Eden Pure Gen3 Model 500 Quartz/Infrared portable Heater that heats up to 300 square feet. I bought it for my very elderly mother-in-law, who lives with us and whom I take care of 24/7. I suffer from a severe heat disorder, and therefore having the furnace running all the time is not only costly for me, but also is a risk to my health and well-being. Thus, my husband and I have been beating our heads against the wall for months in trying to find a solution for this upcoming winter season. My mother-in-law is cold ALL OF THE TIME, and I'm not exagerating this in any degree!! She spends most of her time in the living room, so this is where we have the heater. It is absolutely try to its description. it doesn't get hot on the outside of it, so there's no risk of fire. You can use the top for a shelf or table to set things on. This heater does heat from the floor to the ceiling as well as reheating all of the air in the room, and it is very comfortable and...
...

The DeLonghi is a compact gray space heater with 3 different fan settings and an adjustable thermostatdt. I use a space heater year round at work and usually have to replace my heater every 12-18 months. I have owned several different brand names and this seems to be the sturdiest heater that I have used thus far. It is smaller than most and the heat output is excellent. The gray exterior is attractive and hides dirt well. I have only 2 complaints with this model. The first complaint would be the noise. It is not excessively loud, but a quieter model would be nice since the heater is almost constantly running. The second complaint is that the unit does not automatically turn off if and when it overheats. Overall the price range and features of the DeLonghi space heater are very competitive to other more well know brands such as Honeywell. This product can be found through online retailers such as Amazon.
...

The Everstar Portable Heater/Fan Model # 732906 is small, quiet and yet quite powerful. I have it in my very drafty sunroom with old single pane windows and it still manages to keep the room at a decent tempertaure without running constantly.

This model has several safety features which is why I originally selected it. It has tip-over protection meaning that if the heater is accidently knocked over (by say kids or pets), it automatically shuts off instead of burning a hole in your carpet. It also has a cool-exterior so that if a person accidently brushes up against it, they don't get burned. Finally it has an automatic shut off if the internal tempature of the heater gets too high, preventing those horror stories of a heater melting when left unattended.

It has an adjustable thermostat that allows you to set the tempature and then leave the heater to automatically turn itself on and off. I was a bit disappointed that all you have is a warmer / cooler setting and not an actual...
...

This Honeywell heater has been one of my absolute favorite heaters.

The price was reasonable, and it is quiet, effective, and safe. I did not notice a large increase on my electricity bill either.

The color and shape are very low-key and fit well into any room I used it in. We have an older home with high ceilings, so just any old heater won't do. This one did the trick.

It also resists tipping over and has somehow survived pets running into it, teens kicking it over accidentally, and seems to have a nice wide radius of heating area. I also like that it fits into nearly any awkward space and is not too mechanical or flashy. No exposed hot spots except right in front of it, and has held up well with near-constant use.

I found mine at our local WalMart and have not had a bit of trouble with it.

My home office is in an upstairs room with a twelve-foot ceiling. The rest of the upstairs is not occupied. Rather than turn on and crank up the gas furnace for the upstairs, I bought and use my Sunbeam SLP3310-UM Low-Profile 1000/1500 Watt Convection Heater.

It's a baseboard design, not too large, the right size to be unobtrusive (when they call it 'low-profile' they're right). Its design is sleek, which means it doesn't have a lot of sharp corners, and its black color reflects its basic, get-it-done-without-a-lot-of-flash performance.

Features include:

* Five pre-set temperature selections--65, 70, 75, 80, 85.

* A timer--4 hours, 8 hours, 12 hours.

I live in Maine in a big drafty house. In the summer it's great because no matter how hot it gets, there is always a breeze somewhere.

In the winter it's a very different story. Drafty turns into cold. I found the answer to my problem with the Honeywell HZ 200. Usually there is a room with a definite chill. This little space heater takes care of the problem with speed and efficency, The 1500 wattage is just right. It self regulates for precise temperature. It oscillates for wide area heating.

The owner's manual is easy to read and has all the information that you need. There is a 3 year limited warantee.

It has a great many safety features. It has an extra stable base that makes tipping unlikely. If it somehow does get tipped, it has an automatic shut off. The Honeywell HZ 2000 is always cool to the touch. The digital controls make it extrmely easy to us

One of the best things about the heaters is that I don't have to worry about my grandchildren or anyone else touching the outside of the heater as it is always cool. That was a feature we really liked as the one heater basically was used as an end table. Another great feature is their portability. We could move the heaters to any location in the house without any problems. We also liked the fact that our heaters came with a 3 year warranty. I don't know of any other space heater that comes with that long a warranty.

I own my own home which has central heating and cooling, however over the weekend the entire system failed when the temperature was hovering in the low thirties. I must say that service people do a great job, but they make you pay triple for that job or more on the weekend service calls. So instead of calling a serviceman I decided to purchase a heater to get me throught the weekend. The store clerk recommended the Tower Quartz heater by Patton, and I must tell you that i was pleasantly surprised. This heater did a terrific job, I am very happy with my purchase. The heater surrounded my entire living room with comforting warmth, I did not have to sit in front of the heater to know that it was working. I would certainly encourage anyone who needs a heat source for the upcoming winter months to try this heater. My central heat has been repaired now, but I know that I will continue to use this heater also, it even has a thermostat.
...

sundown706 says "Homes heater can take the chill off an entire room" about holms white space heater

I love the Homes heaters. I have had several different brands of these over many years and this is my favorite. In fact, I bought 5 in order to have one available in all of the most lived in areas of my home. They are light weight, have to heat settings as well as a fan feature, and work extremely well. They are also very quit...just a slight sound which is great for sleeping. It shuts itself off when the desired temperature is reached. The only feature I wish it had is where it will shut itself off if tipped over. Mine is in no danger of being tipped, but I could see how this would be of some benefit to others. The cord is nice and long and they were very reasonable priced. With today's high gas prices, it's great to be able to heat up the most often used rooms while keeping the whole house thermostat set low. I use my heaters constantly when the weather gets chilly and they usually last around 2 years. I don't see a big jump in my electric bill so they are pretty...
...

lacassa says "I'm having a concern about the DeLonghi Oil Heater, Big Meltdown" about DeLonghi Heater - Oil Heater - Radiator

I have enjoyed our DeLonghi Oil Filled Heater since last winter, we recently started using it again as fall sets in and along with the usual smell of the first few times of use...I contribute that to the dust mostly. There was a strong odor that I did not remember from last use. While in the garage today I smelled it again, so I picked up the extension cord it is plugged into it smelled fine and was not hot to touch, we had plugged it in to a heavy duty extension cord (same as last year) as the outlet itself is hard to get at. As I put the cord down the plug on the heater started smoking like crazy and the smell was horrendous. Needless to say I was shocked and unplugged the two from each other immediately. The cord to the DeLonghi is fried. I'm freaking out now. The smell is lingering in the garage. I should mention here that we have used that same extension cord for many other uses and have never had a problem with it before. My question? Was it a faulty product, faulty cord, something...
...

qlucy3 says "Simple heater that keeps you warm." about Holmes HCH4051 Ceramic Heater with Thermostat

The Holmes ceramic space heater that I have is an older model from Holmes. It is a very simple heater with an adjustable thermostat and three settings (fan, medium or high heat). It does not have automatic shut-off if the heater were to fall over, which is a feature I would prefer it have. It is a simple heater that keeps me warm, but I am missing some of the more advanced features of a space heater. If you're looking for an inexpensive and simple heater to keep you warm, then definitely choose this heater. It is definitely effective in warming up a room! However, if you're looking for more advanced options and features, then I would look for another space heater. Overall, it is a durable and reliable product. I've had it for about two years so far and it still works great. It is a bit noisy, so if you're looking for an extremely quiet heater, then this heater might not be for you. I have gotten used to the sound and it's almost soothing to me.. so it is up to you! Overall,...
...

pitcherday says "Little fan, big heat" about Holmes Compact Heater Fan with Thermostat

This fan is compact and the housing and controls are all heavy-duty plastic, so no accidental burns! There is a metal coil inside, which heats up and the little fan blows the heat all around your room! It's small, but boy - does it pack a punch. It has a thermostat with nine heat settings. You can choose fan-only, low heat, or high heat. It automatically turns off and on to maintain the desired temperature. Fan-only is only useful for a little air circulation. It's not that strong. You couldn't use it in the summer as a fan.

I have had it in a pretty big room. I don't know the square footage, but it adequately heated the room, even when it wasn't all the way on high. It has an auto shut-off feature. If you tip it over, don't worry it won't keep going.

This was a very good buy. It's inexpensive (mine was around $30), and lasts a long time. I have had mine since 2001 and it's still going strong. Before that, I owned a much cheaper Holmes heater fan. It looked similar, but only had settings...
...
