jimfromnc says "Best in it's class" about Comfortmaker 95 % Furnace

I have been in the heating business for over thirty years and believe I am giving both a educated opinion as well as a honest one. Comfortmaker's ninety five precent efficient furnace is probably the best furnace in it's class. The reason I say this is in order to get this much efficiency out of a furnace it requires having two heat exchangers. Comfortmaker is currently the only manufacture that makes both heat exchangers out of stainless steel. The importance of this is when a furnace is this efficient, exhaust gases are well below boiling which causes all water that was turned to steam in combustion process to turn back to water prior to leaving the furnace. This process occurs mostly in the second heat exchanger and because they also make this exchanger out of stainless steel it will not rust out causing premature failure of your furnace. The furnace also has a modulating gas valve so it will turn it gas valve down to use less gas when outdoor temperature does not require larger...
...

I work at a desk situated in a large open warehouse. Such large open spaces are difficult to keep comfortably warm in the winter. Having a sedentary desk job, normally on the phone or a computer, I don't usually move around enough to keep my body generating its own heat. I needed a space heater.

This Holmes 1-Touch heater is exactly what I needed. It's compact enough that it doesn't get in the way of my rolling desk chair. It has enough power to keep the space at my desk (and me) warmer even on the coldest of days. I like the adjustable low-to-higher settings so that I can easily regulate the temperature. A safety feature that I also value is the automatic shut-off if the unit ever gets too hot, but I've never had that happen. I think that function would kick in if you forget to turn it off.

The unit isn't very expensive to begin with, so this seems like a good value. It has worked reliably even in a dusty environment. The heat-producing elements are...
...

chingu1 says "Best way to save money on electric/gas bill" about Bionare BFH6616 multi-directional tower heater BFH6616

I moved to Philadelphia, PA from Florida and I can't stand the cold. So I purchased a Bionare heater, the compact versions take a considerable amount of time to actually heat a room. This model however has a pivot that separates the two heater fans enabling a near 90 degree turn between the two directions that the fans can disperse the electrically heated air. The thermostat is built into the LED display allowing for the heater to be left plugged in so that it is only running when the temperature in the room is what you set it too. Major complaints include, slight smell when not in constant use and thermostat is not very sensitive. The smell is kind of moldy but is gone shortly after half hour and only happens if not in use more than a months time. Overall this heater is effective and dropped my electric and gas bill by $60. I purchased my heater from target for around $20. The auto-shut off has been tested multiple times by my dog and has worked every-time, so I feel safe leave it on...
...

The honeywell heater is great for small spaces, I use it in my RV instead of using the big energy hog that came with it. The honeywell heater keeps me nice and toasty at my table or watching a dvd. Since I really like the cold it gives me enough warmth to stave off the cold without making it to hot. I also use it when on the road in my big truck and on low it keeps the cab quite comfortable even in the cold climates of the north. Funny the way I found out about this is my diesel lines froze up and in the winter when a driver one learns to carry a backup especially for keeping warm and I threw it in the truck just for that reason. So anyway it became my life saver on a cold Wyoming night, so instead of running the big diesel engine and wasting about sixty dollars worth of fuel I plugged in my very reasonably priced honeywell heater and slept in the comfort of my nice warm cab. Thank you honeywell for making a reasonably priced heater!
...

We bought this wood furnace on the advice of our designer as being "efficient". EPA approval sounded great. Well if you think it's efficient to have to load the furnace every 3 hours when it's cold ( and we live in mid-hudson NY- Not alaska), and if you think it's efficient to burn 4 times the amount of wood you'd normally use, and if you think it's efficient to have to put the thermostat up to 90 in order that the boiler doesn't blow up in more mild weather and have to leave the windows open not to faint, then maybe you'll like it. I feel like making a class action suit and would love to join with others who feel duped and cheated! We spent $8500 on the actual unit, not to mention much more than that on getting the plumbing and settings right to work with it. We're going to have to get another furnace before next winter as it never got our main living area above 64 when it was really cold. Supposedly if you have a hot tub or swimming pool to heat to use as a "heat dump" it works better;...
...

We used to spend a fortune in heat bills because our old farmhouse has an old furnace that requires "heating oil", which is more expensive than natural gas in our neck of the woods. This past year we decided to approach heating our home in another way. We invested in a couple of Eden Pure Quartz Infrared Portable Heaters.

These heaters are fantastic! They are super quiet and cool to the touch. It is so nice to have space heaters that won't burn young guests. Evenmore, there are 13 different heat settings, yes 13! So, you can really get the heat level just where you want it. It is equipped with a remote control which is a must for lazy folks like us!!! But the very best part is that we saved a ton of money this year by using the Eden Pures. We shaved at least a couple thousand off our annual heating expenses.

Another great feature is that you can "spot heat". We were able to move the heaters around to heat the specific areas of the house we were using. They heat a...
...

The Muskoka Electric Stove: The stove/heater is available at Plow & Hearth. Anyway, we love this little electric heater that looks like an old fashioned stove. It is real easy to set up to just unpack it and plug it in. It's that simple anyone can do it. There is no gas hookups or anything like that to worry about. It is so realistic looking you would think it was a real gas stove. There are two levels of heat and just takes the chill off of the air in the wintertime. (We live in TX) My sister in Massachusetts recommended it to us and we love it. It's also portable and can be moved from room to room. You can also just turn on the "flames" without the heat. It comes in three colors green, red and black. We decided to get the red or (cranberry color) as is specified on the website. We move alot and now we have this great heater to take with us. It has become one of our favorite household items. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because it put out enough heat...
...

The Lakewood oil space heater is a very energy efficient heater. My house used to be so cold in the winter that I would have to wrap up in a blanket. Not anymore. Plus, I save on my enery bills. I just love my space heater. It keeps my whole house warm in the winter. I can turn down my thermostat and still stay warm. It doesnt take long for the oil to heat up so I get instant heat. My cat loves it also. She sits right there by the heater all night. I can turn off the heater and it stays warm for a few hours after. It was the best investment that I have made. If you have a drafty house, this will work wonders for you. It doesnt break your wallet either. My son saw mine and he went out and bought himself one. The space heaters are safe to use and you do not have to worry about them. I highly recommend the Lakewood oil space heater to anyone with a drafty, cold house.
...

When I needed a heater for my office, outfitted with a window A/C only, I told my husband we had to find one that was modern and stylish as well as an excellent room warmer. It took me about 5 seconds after I had seen the B&D in the store to decide that this was MY heater. The design is terrific, mine is tan and looks like a space ship. The front is an enlongated oval that comes to a point. The back is round with an inset handle for ease in moving or changing position when required. The shape allows the released heat to focus from the sides to the front with the widest dispersal available. The base is a solid disc molded with four foot-like extensions to level the heater and prevent accidental falls. There is an automatic shut-down should it fall over. The unit has need specific heat options i.e., large, medium or small rooms with a digital temperature readout located adjacent to the controls on top of the unit. Temperature is controlled via a cool (blue) to hot (red) arrow. It is easy to...
...

I use the Patton 1500 Watt Utility Heater under my desk at work. I did not have much decision on what to purchase so I could not be very picky. In essence this space heater does the trick and keeps me warm. However, the temperature guage is not very accurate. At times, at the same setting it will be too cold, other times it will be too warm. In addition, I have to prop the heater up in order to keep my body warm. The heater in itself does not heat the space....if it sits normally, all I get are very hot feet. With the heater propped up, it should have an automatic shut off feature to prevent fires. Sometimes this feature triggers but I only have to give the heater a slight kick and it comes back on. That does not seem that safe to me. Through out the day I have to adjust the temperature back and forth continuously looking for a comfortable heat. Probably the biggest problem is that it does not heat the area, so depending on the angle, I have a really warm thigh and a really cold ankle etc....
...

Out of all the heaters Ive ever tryed this is a really good heater. Other heaters just run up your electric bill. But not the workforce heater. This heater is so good it heated up 2 rooms at once. It even got to hot to where I had to shut it off for a little while. Its a great heater that you can take anywhere with you. It has 4 different heater settings on it. And if it tips over it will shut itself off. Its really great for heating up your bathroom on really cold days or even heating up your inclosed front porch. My husband even used it in our garage and you wouldnt believe how well it worked. And it was snowing out. Its also great for pets if you keep them out on the inclosed porch or in the basement at night. I couldnt ask for a better heater and would recomend this product to everyone.
...
