We replaced our 20 year + AC/Heater about 4 months ago for aTrane Heat Pump and Air Conditioner. We should have done it sooner.

A recent foundation lift forced us to make some long needed repairs to our home. Our AC started acting up so we started pricing. We took 8 bids and finaly found a contractor who we felt we could trust and gave us a fair price. In the end, to help us make up our minds, he upgraded for no additional cost to a Trane Heat Pump and Air Conditioner.

Over the last four months, we have seen a total savings of $300. Summer in Texas is brutal on the bills but not this time. We are waiting to see what our December through January bills are as theyare usually the highest. We still have leaks in the house as wearestill repairing walls and baseboards, but we did replace our windows which have also helped. But the big difference is the Trane Heat Pump and Air Conditioner. The unit actual bumps the temperature a little higher or lower depending on the setting...

We have to accept the fact that electricity is expensive. And it is not only expensive for you but also for mother earth as her resources is being used to produce the electricity. With a central air conditioning system you actually end up wating more energy than you use. Espeially for small families where only one or two rooms are occupied at a time to have the entire house air -conditioned is an unnecessary waste of energy.

With mini split air conditioners you can actually save a lot of the energy and the same time you can enjoy effects of air condition. With split air conditioners you can air condition the room you want to while other rooms maintian normal temperature. The split air conditioners also come with in buit thermostat. So it knows when to switch off and when to switch on again. apart from the saving on power you can also save on the installtion cost. I got one of these for my birthday a couple years ago. Im glad I did, because it's probably the main thing that kept me alive during this past scorching California summer.I had a rather large room in my last house....(Ive downsized) and it kept my room like an icebox. It was my salvation many days and nights and I love it! It has an air hose and a vent that can set easily in any window. It adjusts in size for easy set up. The air conditioner itself has a built in dehumidifier and another nifty thing. You Rarely ever have to drain this thing! I've ran mine straight for days, and after having it for a couple years Ive only drained it maybe four times that I can remember. And when I did drain it, it really didn't even need it. Its really easy to use, comes with a remote control, has casters on it for easy mobility. Its light, portable, and makes life so much more comfortable. I love my new Frigidaire FAS256R2A room air conditioner. The one before this Frigidaire FAS256R2A it replaced was over twenty years old and needless to say we got our moneys worth. It wasnt energy star rated like the Frigidaire FAS256R2A. The Frigidaire FAS256R2A can cool a room up to 1660 sq ft. It comes with full function electric controls with remote tempature managment. Let me tell you the remote control with tempature is a life saver we did not think we would like it be we are very suprised with the results. I feel like the Frigidaire FAS256R2A room air conditioner is already saving energy compared to our older one. The Frigidaire FAS256R2A comes with the standard cool/fan options but it also has a sleep mode that we have yet to try out. It comes with the standard mounting materials. The Frigidaire FAS256R2A is a very quite running machine.
There are only two things I can say I dont like about the Frigidaire FAS256R2A is the multidirection air flow is not that good...

Purchased a Sears Carrier Whole house Air conditioning unit and had the installation from hell. The contractor did not even install all the parts and took months to finish. Knew there was a need for a cross over under the house and wouldn't tell us, says he would lose his Sears Contract if he did. I tried to tell him that air wasn't coming clear thru to the back of the house, and he had the nerve to tell me it would adjust it's self, just shut off part of the vents and it would be fine. Finally got him to come up here, and it cost us an extra $300.00 to fix the problem that he wouldn't tell us about. Unit will not cool the house if the temperature is over 100 degrees. Set it on 80 degrees and it will run for hours, and can get it down to 81 degrees part of the time. Have had a couple of people (other a/c repair companies) inspect the unit, they say it runs fine, sloppy installation, but works ok, but is too small for the house due to the large arcadia doors, large windows,...

While the cooling does a wonderful job in the main room (that's all I can expect) and a servicable job of the remainder of the house, the heat needs to be supplemented in the outer rooms in winter time. It is somewhat loud and the energy saver mode seems to short cycle, ie. kicks on every 10 minutes and runs for 3... Seems to be more "timed" than thermostat driven. After almost 13 years we had our original heat/ac replaced and had a Trane installed. It is a 3 ton, 14 seer with dual speed fans. Very energy efficient. If the inside temp of the house is two or more degrees warmer than what we sent the thermostat to, the high speed fan will kick in to cool the house down quickly, reducing energy from having it run constantly. With the clean air effects filtration, it filters out particles as small as cigarette smoke (if we smoked-we do not). Cleaning the filter is easy-just vacuum it off once a month. We have noticed an improvement in our electric bill this year compared to last year with our old a/c unit. Most people's electric bill is over $200 per month-ouch! Ours has been just under that. Since we live in Florida, we use our a/c 7-8 months of the year, and that is a lot of money in savings since we got our new unit. in the future.It uses environmentally friendly RA10A refrigerant. I have had no problems

with the York Air Conditioning System since its installation in November, 2008.

It was comprably priced. The electric bill was suprising low since it was used

almost continually from early May to late September. I would definitely recommend

the system.

Hello Again.I Am Here To Talk About My rheem Centrail Air Conditoner.it Is An Old System I Just Had My Furnice Checked Out For The Winter.And As The Heaterman Was Here He Looked At My Rheem Air Conditoner.The Weather Is Starting To Change But While He Was Here He Took A Quick Look And Said There Was Not A Thing Wrong With It.All Summer Long It Keep My Condo Very Cool So If You Need To Replace Your Air Conditioner Or You Furnice I Would Tell To Try A Rheem System. My Parents Had A Rheem,My Old Town House Was A Rheem And My Condo Is A Rheem.In All The Years Using A Rheem. A very good air conditioner! Haiers' 5200 btu system is perfect for my sons bedroom. He has a 10' x 11' bedroom with closet and this keeps it cool. The remote control makes it extra convenient to be able to just poke my head in his door and set the temp. No walking across the floor to step on his toys. It's also very quiet so not to wake him as the compressor kicks on and off. In the summer I've had no problem with freezing. This tells me the unit can handle this size area. I can't say from experience how it handles spaces larger than 10' x 11'. The unit came with every thing needed for installing though a window. I would suggest buying extra strip insulation to reassure a good seal. I paid $125 for this unit and I think it's paid for itself over the last 3 years. Haier will be the brand I turn to when my current one finally goes out. So far there is no sign of having to replace it.

My husband and I decided to purchase a LG Heater/ Air Conditioner combination in February of 2009 and I must say I was a bit skeptical of this thing to be able to actually HEAT up or COOL down.

But when it came down to it, for the rest of the Winter this appliance kept my home warm and in the Summer, when it reached 100+ outside, the LG Heater/ Air Conditioner Combo kept it nice and chilly inside my home.

So now our household uses one appliance to keep us warm in the Winter and cold in the Summer and for under $600! This product is amazing and I would definitely recommend it to everyone who likes one heating and cooling system.

I've dealt with and have repaired many different makes and models of residential split system forced air units but Rheem A/C units I have had to service the least in the 8 years I've been an Heating and A/C technian. They are at the top of the list in saving you on energy cost as well as future repairs. They come in various sizes from a 2 ton unit (accommodatingly cooling for approx. 800sq.ft) on up to a 5 ton system (cooling up to approx. 2100sq.ft.). As for over all costs far less expensive than more maintenance plagued name brands. Name brands such as Carrier, Bryant,and York system. Of the three i have mentioned as well as the Rheem split system forced air units or forced air units only the Carrier air conditioning units are close to Rheem air conditioning units when compared to least amount of maintenance in the systems first 5 years of operation. Then again Rheem air conditioning units or system carry a price tag that ranges from anywhere in between $300-$500 less than the same...

So we moved into our home in 92 with the big 3 ton heat and air unit, it was a nightmare from the beginning, we have sulfur water and they said that the fumes from the sulfur ate thru the coils in the air conditioner. We have replaced them 4 times, we live in Florida and of course it would decide to mess up every year, during the hottest time of the year. So one day we where at Wal-Mart and saw this unit, they where under $150, so we bought 3, I think they where really about $100 or less, this is the best money I have every spent!

We put one in each bedroom and where able to cool all the bedrooms and with fans could even cool other parts of the house until the big air conditioner got fixed again. This air conditioner has saved us so many times, the last time the big unit messed up we decided to get a bigger window for the front of the house and just put fixing the big unit on hold for a while. We currently own a 1000 sq ft. condo and had a difficult time finding a thru-the wall air conditioner that wasn't too expensive and that would cool the living room and kitchen. We finally found this air conditioner (Amana AACW126V) and it was about $450.00. Others we looked at were close to $600.00. This air conditioner works well and cools the living room and kitchen (about 500 sq ft) quickly. It is however a little noisy. There are 3 speeds and a dehumidifier setting that is great for those days where it is not too hot but the air is stale. I would recommend this air conditioner to friends and family due to it's reasonable price and ability to cool a good size area in a short amount of time. The air conditioner comes with a 1 year manufactures warranty, has 12,000 BTU, 230V, 9.0EER. This is an energy star compliant product which helps with the electric bill. I purchased two air conditioners, because I thought the price was right. I was not disappointed when they arrived. They work perfectly! They arrived in a very timely manner and in good condition. I was a little shocked at delivery time when I was told by the shipping company that they would only drop the boxes off at the bottom of my steep steps! Because of where I live, this would require sitting there on the boxes (in whatever whether) until I could get help. Not good! But, the driver did bring them around to the back of the house and it worked out OK. No problems with the product itself.Using this basically as a room AC, but it has proven to be effective to cool a 2 level condo providing all windows and blinds/shades are closed. Using the Energy Saver button gives you the control to cool area/areas to your comfort level and it does shut down when that set level is reached.I'm very pleased with the product.

this frigidaire,151k btu air conditioner is like a dream come true. i have tried other brands and even had bought one of the new portable air conditioner, but was totally dissatisfied with it. it made way too much noise and it took up way too much space. i returned the unit the next day and asked for a window unit in it's place. i let them know that i needed one that could use a 110 outlet seeing how i could not change it. the gentleman lead me to this display with this unit on it. price was very reasonable and i paid for it and they loaded in my vehicle for me. i took it home, that night my husband hooked it up and we have been very happy since. the unit is very quiet and has a energy saver feature that is great. i have already noticed a difference in my electric bill from $500 down to $300 and that is no chicken feed! well worth the money, can't even tell it's on sometime and my living room is 18'x18' so it cools a very large area in my house. all in all, well worth the money!

I bought this Frigidare Gallery Ac that is 18,000 btu's recently. It does my whole house that is 1400 sq ft. it has a feature you can use or not. But it shuts down when the temp of the house is reached for 15 mins. Then it will come on & check the room temp, if it's needed to come on again it will or just shut down for another 15 mins.

I DON'T use the engery feature because I want to make sure my whole house is cool.

It has a remote control & you can program it to come on or off at whatever hours you want. My electric bill for the month of August with his running 24/7 was only $126.00 & I had it set at 70.

The Soleus replaced an existing unit we had that wasn't large enough to cool off our main living area. The Soleus really cools the room quickly and automatically adjusts so it is not constantly running. There is a hose that vents through a window and we don't have to empty a bucket or run a plumbing line to get rid of the condensation like our previous portable unit. The Soleus is easy to use and even has a remote so the temperature can be adjusted or even turn off from anywhere in the room. It is a very quiet and very efficient model that will convert to a heat pump in the winter to just heat our main living area if needed. The Everstar portable air conditioner is on rollers for easy access from storage to A/C location. It comes with all the necesarry components for attachment to a horizantal sliding window. It has a variety of settings for different temperatures and also has a setting for dehumidifier. We have a fairly large house with open kitchen and living room. The house is well insulated and keeps cool on hot days until mid afternoon. We turn on the Everstar around mid day and it does a very good job of keeping the house comfortable for the rest of the afternoon. We live in the high desert and can also take advantage of cool evenings. This air conditioner works best as a supplemental source of cooling.
