Well, you won't find my garden spot in a top magazine. Better Homes and Gardens may have had me in mind when they picked the title because all of their homes and gardens look better than mine. But I have three small children and work four part-time jobs. I'm patting myself on the back for even trying to plant flowers this year. — I choose my plants carefully. They must be acquired from a family member via a shovel or they must cost about a quarter. Two packs of seeds for a quarter is even better. However, if I'm going to the trouble of planting a flower garden, I do want to give it a chance to grow, so I bought Miracle Grow Shake 'n Feed Continuous Release All Purpose Plant Food and also planted one of my latest gardens over the septic tank. (I think Southern women are known for practicality.) — Well, you can look at the pictures. I'm quite pleased--not bad for spending less than $5 on all of the plants. Now if I could just get this fertilizer for that kind of...

Had to return the weed eater after having it for 3 years witha complete tune up at year 2. When i tried to start it at year 3 it would not start. — Since Sears has taken over the Craftsman product line the quality has gone down down down. — The local store only tode me to take it to the repair department and pay to get it fixed. — Wonder custome care and concern. —...

At first glance, this product was a dream come true for me. I met my personal aesthetic tastes; the water coming down made just the right sound; the design was such so that it made it more difficult for animals to get to it; the side walls protected it so that wind would not blow the dropping water away (a problem with many fountains), and there was a nice, energy efficient LED light on the bottom, illuminating the waterfall. — Everything else was a nightmare -- namely, what happened after it started to be used, both in terms of the construction and the company. — First, for whatever reason, the paint the company (Alpine Corporation) used was not the type intended for water applications, especially when the water is dripping down with some velocity. After a short while, nearly everywhere the water "hit" as it fell onto the interior sides and bottom of the fountain, the paint disappeared, leaving 1/4' - 1/2" what spaces, which contracted considerably with the "natural" look...

Lucky Bamboo is a easy and simple plant to grow. The plants leaves turn yellow and can burn if put in direct sunlight. Many care tips and sites say to add fertilizer, however i have found that the plants leaves burn and upon researching the reason I found that the fertilizer burns the plant so you shouldn't use it....you can tell if this is happening if the tips of the leaves are brown. The BIGGEST thing to know is that flouride which is in Most Tap Water can burn and kill your Lucky Bamboo, you can find out how much flouride is in your tap water by contacting the water department, but since Lucky Bamboo is native to the floors of the rain forest FRESH RAIN WATER is Best for the plant, or spring water. If you still want to use tap water you should fill a tall glass(depending on the size of your plant) with tap water and let it sit over night(or about 24 hours) this will rid the water of flouride and other chemicals. Be sure to drain the majority of the water already in the...

These one-light solar-powered coach lights are perfect for lining a driveway and getting four in a package is terrific for the price. The only problem can be that they need enough sunlight during the day to keep the solar power charged. Unfortunately much as I love the idea and the look, our driveway and walkway to the house are too shaded. I will buy them and try them but they may not work. Another great, functional product at a good price from Sears/KMart...

The Craftsman Torque 3-in-1 Mower is full of power. I have really enjoyed mowing my lawn with this. It has front wheel drive and is self-propelled. Much better than my previous mower. This lawn power practically pulls me along instead of being pushed. Of course, the last time I mowed my lawn with my old mower I was 7 months pregnant, so it might seem easier than it really is. It cuts well and the wheels are very easy to adjust the height of the cut. Our lawn is full of divets (not from golfing though) and this lawn mower pulls right through the divets and hills. Now, if I could only get my trees pruned as easily. I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because it is hard to start. Also, there is a "grass extender", the little black plastic piece that holds the door up, so the grass will shoot out when the bag is off, and it falls of...

I thought the Black and Decker Cordless Elerdlctrical lawn mower would be the solution to all my mowing problems. No polution, no buying high priced gasoline, no jerking on a cord to start, which I have no strength in my hands from Arthritis, no dragging cord, and no oil to check. It was alittle bit more expensive than the gas mowers, but it would be worth it for the convenience and it's green characteristics. It worked fine for about four mowings. Then, it either wouldn't charge or it wouldn't stay charged. I don't know which. I am not supposed to know those things, because I am electronically challenged. But, the problem was, neither did the Sears maintainence service center here in Lawton. They asked, "did I put oil in it, was it out of gas"? I had already told them, it was electric. The only thing they knew to do was to send it off to Dallas or Fort Worth to be worked on. Now that didn't get me a...

The Craftsman 25cc 17-inch Gas Weedwacker is the best trimmer I've ever owned. It's easy to use, starts every time, and cuts through even the heaviest grass and weeds with no effort at all. What used to be a real chore involving a lot of frustration and extra work has turned into a quick and painless task.
You will probably think I am crazy but I actually look forward to Winter and those whiteout snow storms because it gives me the chance to use my always reliable Craftsman Snow Thrower. I also know my neighbors no longer dread accumulating snow as I am happy to clear their walkways and driveways in addition to my own. One of the biggest reasons I love my Snow Thrower is right after the snow plows come through our neighborhood, I can confidently clear out the snow they push right back at the base of our driveway. Most of my neighbors have smaller snow throwers that appear to be nothing more than glorified shovels. With it's easy to start motor and adjustable speeds and snow throwing chute, I can take whatever Mother Nature decides to dish out. I could not be happier nor say enough good things about my Craftsman Snow Thrower. Another example of a quality product sold at my favorite store, Sears....

The Craftsman 79957 hedge trimmer is a delight to use. I was clipping vines, branches, grass, and of course, hedges, 5 minutes after taking the trimmer out of the box. This is the first trimmer I have ever used, and I was swinging this thing around like a madman, with no problems whatsoever. Nothing could have been simpler. — The one issue I might call attention to was the fairly short power cable, but since anyone using this would be using extensions anyway, that is a minor quibble. It is also possible some might find this unit heavy, but I am pretty sure that at under 8 pounds it is not any heavier than any other trimmers out there. In fact, given that this is a corded electric, no batteries or internal combustion engines are attached, so it is probably lighter than most types of hedge trimmers. — I found this model through Consumer Reports, who made it their top choice for corded electric trimmers, and I can see why. I do not know if this model has been superseded by...

We got a large electric bill in the mail one day and my wife wanted to know why it was so big. There were only two things we had recently done that could account for the jump in electric usage: running the dehumidifier and getting a cordless electric lawn mower. Surely a battery-powered electric lawn mower couldn't use that much power, could it? — To find out, I bought a P3 Kill-A-Watt EZ, model P4460, which looks like the picture at the top of this review. I got it from Amazon for about $25. — What it is — The P3 Kill-A-Watt EZ has a three-pronged plug on its back, which will plug into any standard outlet. On the face of the unit is a standard three-prong outlet. You use the unit by plugging it into any wall outlet, then plugging the device you want to check into the P3 Kill-A-Watt EZ. It's very simple. — At the top of the unit is a large readout that tells you various things about the power that is connected to the unit. Well, it certainly looked more appealing than the fly ribbon that my daughter said looked like twirley poo poo. We were rapidly being invaded by fruit flies, so I figured I'd give this a try first. (If you want details of other measures we have tried for fruit fly control, click on the fly ribbon link above.) — The directions were easy enough. It has two sticky sides. One side is sticky all over. The other side just has a small sticky strip. The small sticky strip goes on the window side with the sticky side toward the top. So far, so good. — Well, it's been ten days now. I've resorted to numerous other measures to control the pesky fruit...
