palmtree63 says "THIS BED IS AWESOME, don't listen to the bad reviews" about OTHER Sleep to Live Series 500 Green by Kingsdown

My husband and I needed to buy a new mattress, after only 2 years of our old mattress - which we hated from week 1, so we started by looking at pricing and reviews on the web. (It's actually kind of hard to find mattress reviews). We were thinking about getting a Sleep number bed - and found them on sale locally (50%+ off - I guess Sleep Number is not going to be selling "retail" anymore, but will have their own stores?) - We were able to find a Cal King for $1900 out the door - which is a great deal for that bed, but then decided not to go with a bed with parts that may need to be replaced or could break - (air pump, chambers, etc.) and also because the great deal bed did not come with a 30+ day trial period. So, back to looking. I had heard about Sleep to Live beds from our local retailer SLEEPCITY (Northern California) - and the computerized system that helps select your bed type. We went to SleepCity, and did the computer analysis - then tried the bed....Sleep...
...

destinie3535 says "Comfortable, easy to put together, but a bit pricey" about IKEA Poang Chair

I love IKEA. They have some nice stuff and as long as you are willing to put it together, most of it is worth it. I bought a Poang chair because I really like the way they look and feel. I was lucky and got the chair itself in the 'as-is' part, but had to buy the cusion. Now I bought the vinyl cushion ( as my boyfriend tends to spill things, so fabic is not good for us) and it was abit expensive, but worth the money. It is very comfortable to sit it, light to move around and you can change the cusion to match different decor. Plus, unlike some of IKEA's things, it was relatively painless to put together. It wasn't in too many pieces and I managed to get it put together with a friend in about thirty minutes. I have it in the corner of my room and plan to get an ottoman as soon as I can find one in the 'as-is' room. The only drawback is it is a bit pricey. I mean not compared to a lazyboy or something, but considering you have to put it together. Keep an eye out in the 'as-is' and get one...
...

We picked up this coffee table at Walmart for $129 plus we got the matching end table. I wasn't sure about the color because the picture made it look pretty light but it's actually a very nice medium cherry colored wood. It was extremely easy to put together which has been the case for all of the Better homes and gardens products I have purchased. It seems very sturdy(my 3 year old has even climbed up on it!) and durable. It has a couple of drawers that pull out which is nice to hide some of the little things and shelves on the bottom which I plan on putting some nice wicker baskets on. I am very pleased with this purchase and I think it goes wonderful with my other furniture.
...

Clore Dining Room Chairs

eaclore.com

E.A. Clore is has been making furniture right here in Virginia since 1830. We've been slowly upgrading our furniture, one room a year and trying to buy furniture that is made in the U.S.A.

When it came time to buy dining room chairs and bar stools, we wanted Clore chairs. They are classic and so well made. We'd visited many homes that had Clore chairs that had been owned and used for decades and they still had an amazing look and function too.

Clore chairs are custom made from hardwoods. You can choose from walnut, cherry, oak or mahogany. These are not wood finishes. They are real wood chairs.

We chose: 2 captains chairs for the "heads of the table" with arms, 6 traditional ladder back chairs and bar stools, 4 with backs and 2 without for versatility. My favorite addition from the Clore dining room chairs is the youth chair.

What is a youth chair?

This "tab" design is one of the worst engineered things I've ever dealt with. I have worked in the furniture industry for many years and have assembled all kinds of shelving. This "insert tab into slot" design makes me want to scream and stab my eyes out. As you assemble one cross bar the other pops off, over and over and over and over again. I feel like I am part of a scientific experiment to see how much a person can handle before completely losing their mind. AND once it is all together it is flimsy like a drunken whore. Bad bad bad.
...

My boyfriend and I used to live in a gorgeous (and huge) one bedroom apartment. But after a year the cost of the rent didn't make any sense. It's not like we were buying it. We were lucky to find a nice sunny studio but unlike the apartment it had almost no closet space. So I needed to find a wardrobe fast. I saw Raymour & Flanigan's ad that quoted how if you spend $3000 you get 0 money down and 0% interest until 2012. I've always wanted to have a nice dining set with chairs instead of eating on the coffee table in front of the TV. So we got that too. And since I love to cook I have a lot of dinnerware, utensils, electric appliances, etc. So we found a beautiful buffet that goes perfectly with the dining table. We also got a nice desk that adds great comfort to the room. Everything fit in perfectly and it doesn't feel like the room is cluttered or anything. The quality of the wood is amazing. I clean it a couple of times a week to keep it smooth and shiny. We put warranty on the buffet...
...

cn1017 says "Great style" about Sitcom Cosmo collection

I just put together this desk by myself-- bought for ~$400.00. The desk is available online at many furniture store sites, which advertise it for much more. Don't be deceived, many sites offer price match, so there's no need to pay more. You just have to email/call them and ask.

The desk came in one box via FedEx-- I was somewhat disappointed to see that there was some damage most likely during shipping from California. Fortunately, it was easy to fix with some paint. The drawer was slightly broken, but I was able to fix it. Solid construction, the material is made in China, but it was very easy to put together.

The overall style is very contemporary and sleek. I will most likely look into some other furniture from this collection to match for my place. I saw other furniture made from Sitcom-- I really like their style, very modern/contemporary. Overall not bad-- slightly more expensive than I wanted, but pretty happy.
...

On September 7th I bought the SuperSac LoveSac online at the LoveSac website. I didn't receive the sac until well into October, about 6 weeks later. I guess when you place your order it states that it will take 2-4 weeks to ship, but I didn't see this. I found that out from the costumer service rep that emailed me back after my inquiry about where the LoveSac is! Anyway, 6 weeks is longer than 2-4. Mind you I was charged when I placed the order, so I was getting nervous that I wouldn't receive a sac at all and be out several hundred bucks!

THEN, they ship the sac and it's cover separately. So now, 7 and a half weeks later, I have a bare sac and no cover for it! I have 2 dogs, and I really didn't want dog hair all over the sac without a washable cover on it.

I emailed customer service again and was told the cover was on back order until the end of November and that I should have received an update letting me know. I searched my email (I have gmail and archive all my messages,...
...

GalinIL says "Ikea Ektorp Sofa w/ White Cover Still Looking Good After 2 Years" about IKEA Ektorp Living Room Furniture

I bought the Ektorp Sofa with the white cover 2 years ago, and additionally I bought one extra sofa cover, also in white. I added a little extra stuffing into the seat cushions (easy to do) to make them more plump (personal preference), but other than that, I am amazed at how this sofa and the 2 covers have endured through the heavy use they have received...dog (who "fluffs" it a lot), constant daily use, catnaps, several moves about the room, etc! The frame is strong & sturdy. The covers are thick twill or canvas type fabric, very sturdy and wash well. I line dry them, and love the new, fresh outdoor scent when they come off the line! Sometimes I iron them, or use fresh off the line for that shabby, lived-in look. Instructions say "no bleach" but I got red marker on one cover, bleached just that area, and it all came out, with no ill effect. A great value for a very modest price for the budget-conscious!
...

Little Castle Furniture

The reality is that most furnishings are made to fit adults. On the other hand, many specialty children's furniture options are... cheaply made and/or tacky. O.K. I said it. I wanted some child sized furniture for kids but I wanted it to be durable and classy too. I wanted to find some child sized furniture that looked like it belonged in my home. I found just what I wanted with Little Castle Furniture.

I'd seen Little Castle Furniture in a local furniture boutique. I loved it but boy was the price steep. Then I found it in a quality children's clothing store (think smocking dresses) and it was on sale!

I chose two pieces of children's furniture. I chose a plump chair covered in a jungle print with muted greens and neutral colors for "him." I chose a chaise lounge in muted green checks for "her." At times I have incorporated each piece into the children's rooms but recently I moved both to an area rug in the living room, added a rocker for mom and...
...

We liked the mission style, the fabric, and we were told the chairs were still made in Riverside California. When we got the 2 rockers home we saw that the back was pushing out on one of the chairs. We went back to the furniture store to exchange, the only chair left had the entire back falling off and sharp staples were exposed. The store sent the entire lot back to Flex Steel. Four months later new chairs came in, ours were lost. Quality was substandard. New chairs are marked made in China. Problems we saw were inconsistant padding, loose threads, runs in the fabric, damage in the wood, binding not attached correctly, back fabric not attached flush, loose fabric. Quality that would not hold up for a month of use, let alone years. The price is substantial for such a poor quality product. Do not buy.
...

When it came time for me to decide on a new sofa I had already knew what I wanted. I wanted a leather sofa, for easy cleaning, and something that was a neutral color. When my husband and I were browsing a local furniture store we came across this sofa. It was marked at around $1300 but I talked the salesperson down to $1200 and we had the sofa delivered the next day.

This sofa is gorgeous, with a modern/contemporary style, this sofa will make any room look good. It's a neutral color, with a checker board stitch detail, that can go with anything. And this sectional is huge, of course we didn't realize in the furniture store but once we got it home we noticed! This sofa will easily sit 6 or 7 people. The Ashley furniture website says the dimensions of this sofa are 87"W x 36"D x 38"H. The leather that the sofa's made with is quality. We've been having our sofa a year and have had no tears or leather rubbing off.

This loft bed was the best second hand find ever. On our local radio station website they do something similar to Craigslist. People list things to sell or browse items to buy. I came across this bed and was so happy. We had been looking for my oldest a new bed and this one was perfect. It was a year old and basically in brand new condition. The retail price for this bed is over $900, I bought it for $500 and there was a matching dresser and chair that came with it. It was the deal of the century for me, what a bargain!

The Pine Crafters twin/twin student loft bed is made with a solid pine wood construction with a ginger colored finish. There are two twin beds, a desk with three drawers and a cork-back bulletin board. It also has a five dresser drawers and a three self, built in bookcase. The bookcase and dresser drawers are one part and the desk is one part, depending on the layout of a room you can switch these parts around. So instead of having the desk on the right, you can have it...
...

I had the hardest time picking out a coffee table at IKEA. I thought the IKEA Markor Coffee Table was way too big, so I didn't want to get it at first. I couldn't find any other tables that matched our Markor TV Unit and Markor Bookcase, so we ended up buying it anyways. I am so glad we did, because now I love it!

The IKEA Markor Coffee Table is much bigger than most. It is a perfect square and measures three feet in width and length. I ended up liking this coffee table because it isn't round and because it is perfectly square. It looks very nice in our living room with the rest of our Markor furniture from IKEA. It has two drawers, one on two opposing sides. The drawers are very roomy and accommodate remote controls, books, laptops and whatever else you might want to put in there. This coffee table is made out of pine and is durable, but it does dent very easily. My son has thrown toys and other objects that have bounced off the table and left a lovely little dent on...
...

My husband and I bought all new furniture for our living room and bedroom from IKEA recently and love everything we bought! Our IKEA Markor Bookcase matches our IKEA Markor TV Unit perfectly!

This bookcase is huge! It is five feet wide and over six feet tall! It has twenty square holes for books, baskets, pictures, candles or whatever you would like to put in there. I use some holes for pictures and mementos and the rest is for books. My husband has his holes and I have mine! The bookcase does have "legs", so it doesn't sit flat on the floor, but I don't mind. We got the IKEA Markor Bookcase in a dark brown/black color so that it would match the TV stand. Both pieces together look gorgeous and match perfectly.

When my husband and I got married, we combined all of our individual stuff to make our home. That meant a beige couch with a light colored bookshelf, an ugly, worn out recliner (his of course) and other items that didn't match or even look nice together. We went to IKEA for a whole new living room and bedroom and love everything we got.

The IKEA Markor TV Unit we got is a gorgeous dark brown/black color and has two glass doors and three shelves. The top part of the TV stand is wide enough and long enough to house any size TV. We have the speakers for the stereo on each side of the TV and it looks very nice. The three shelves accommodate our XBOX 360, DVD player, stereo, chess game, DVDs and video games. We have ample space for other things if needed.

The beautiful glass doors are gone from my unit because my fabulous 20 month old son wanted to hang on the door and the hinge broke off and the glass in the door broke. We couldn't have just one glass door, so my husbad removed...
...

viewkgr says "You can't pay me to get off the couch!" about OTHER Natuzzi Edition Collection Leather Sofa

It had been a long, long time since I had even stopped foot into a furniture store to look at what is available. You sort of get used to what you have in your home and get comfortable with it. But, after all these years, we needed a new sofa, so we decided on the Natuzzi Edition Collection Leather sofa and we have not been disappointed.

This collection is all about relaxation. The tall back envelopes you with a layered back and plush padded pillow arms to cradle your elbows. Double pillow top seating is paired with reclining options to make this the ultimate in motion seating. The sofa is available in either leather or Dreamfibre and the collection definitely invites you to relax, recline and unwind.

We purchased the sofa and matching loveseat in a deep coffee brown and I absolutely love these pieces. They look fabulous. The leather is easy to take care of, and since we often eat dinner in the living room in front of the TV, no need to worry if someone accidentally drops something...
...

kellyg123 says "Comfortable great for realaxing" about Harlem Leather Sofa

I got a all black furniture set from Harlem furniture and guess what? I love it. I got the set with the lazy boy attached and also the cup holder outstanding. This one also raps around your house giving an outstanding look. I would recommend this furniture set to any family because its so comfortable, number one, and also it's so great for company and sports get to gathers. Having these couches when watching a football game is a dream and I love them and I just know you will to especially if you have a lot of company or family get to gathers. Plus you get a great warranty so you don't have to worry about furniture bad material or any other type of bad business deals you would have to worry about without a warranty. Harlem furniture also has a great selection that you get to choose from. Also there is a wide number of options to choose from and it doesn't get any better than lots of options.
...

mncallah says "Nice-looking cheap chair, wish it were a tiny bit more sturdy" about IKEA Stefan Chair

I bought two of the IKEA Stefan chairs to go with my Bjursta table in black-brown.

Like most of the IKEA furniture, home assembly is required. Unfortunately with this piece of furniture, you can tell you had to put it together yourself. I occassionally have to push pieces of the chair back into place. The parts of the chair also feel a bit light. Maybe it's user error, but I don't love these chairs the way I love the table. I would be happier with them if they felt a little more solid, but I guess that's what you get with a $20 chair?

On the plus side, the chairs match the table beautifully, in both color and style. It's a simple design and perfect for a household that's a step above eating on the couch but not quite ready for formal dining areas.

The chairs are easy to clean and also move due to the light weight. I wouldn't recommend for a household with small children. They're easy to chip and don't seem incredibly durable.

Bottom line, they're a step above poor, college-kid furniture...
...

mncallah says "perfect starter table!" about IKEA Bjursta (min length 90 cm)

I bought the Bjursta table from Ikea in black-brown and am so completely satisfied. It was a great value for the price. A drawback is that it's self-assembly, but it was very easy to put together and feels well-constructed. I'm always concerned with self-assembly pieces but this table feels solid.

I have a two-person apartment household, so size mattered! The minimum length is 35 3/8" (max. length: 66 1/8") with a width of 35 3/8". The table stands 29 1/8". I wasn't quite ready to commit to a formal dining table but was sick of eating off the coffee table. This is the absolute perfect size for two, with room to grow! It has two pull-out leaves to expand for an occasional larger party and they lay seamlessly for everyday use. I think with the leaves fully extended you could comfortably seat up to 6 people.

The lacquer finish makes it a snap to clean without polish. The design is simple but doesn't look cheap. It's understated, but stylish enough to want it in the house. It's perfect...
...
