wongt70 says "Disappointed after one month sleeping on it" about Novaform Imperial Memory Foam Bed Pillow

I like a good firm pillow and thought this memory foam pillow would be the answer. It is a heavy pillow, compared to regular feather or synthetic pillows that I have sleep on in the past. I truly expected this pillow would 'keep its puffness' and offer the same support after a few months. I was sorely disappointed to say the least. The pillow is almost as flat as a regular pillow after one year and it has been only a month and 1/2 or so. They recommend that you 'help' the pillow but 'fluffing it' regularly, which I do, It has not helped at all. There is still some spring back in the pillow but it is very flat compared to when I took it out of the box.

The only good thing is that I did not pay too much for these pillows. I was thinking to return them since I am so unhappy only a few months later but decided against it. It is still OK to sleep on it so it is not as if I am going to throw it out. I cannot remember exactly what I paid for them (2 in a box). I believe it was about $30. For...
...

This thing is so darn cheesy looking, the packaging, the commercials, etc. But, it is awesome in the house of course. I would never wear this in public, or in front of anyone other than my daughter. I got this from my mom as gifts for myself and my daughter. I would have never bought it myself, but my daughter was pining for one b/c she is infomercial queen.:) Anyway, we have used them, but unfortunately my mom did not get the child size. There is no way that she can properly walk around with the grownup version. I may give it away as a present! Anyway, buy it you will love it. But, do not buy it as a present unless it is for an old person, someone you hate or your mother in law! Because it is not the kind of gift most people would want for Christmas!! Just kidding, maybe they would.;)
...

TwoPugs says "Works well but has very unattractive controllers." about Biddeford Electric Blanket - Queen

After having several Sunbeam electric blankets stop working after about two years, I decided to try a new brand. So, when a local department store had a very good sale on Biddeford blankets, I decided to try one despite not knowing anything about the brand (a sale is a sale!).

I have only used the new blanket for about a week but it seems to function just fine - to me, it is a very standard electric blanket. The product description states "Ultrathin Microbore wire ensures enhanced thermal control without the bulk" however I don't really notice a difference in "bulk" from blankets I have owned in the past. It seems very much the same.

The only complaint I have about this blanket is about the appearance of the controllers. This is a queen size blanket and has a controller for each side - each one is a silver, rectangular unit about 3.5" tall by 5" wide. In my opinion, these things are very unattractive and probably would have been a deal-breaker if not for the fact...
...

maranathamaranatha says "VERY UNCOMFORTABLE - EVEN FOR THE PRICE!!!" about Egyptian Comfort Egyptian Comfort 1000 count Deluxe Sheets

I bought Egyptian Comfort sheets at a fair last week. I was mislead into believing they were made of Egyptian Cotton. However, I personally do not care about what they are made of, I just want silky smooth sheets to sleep on! After washing the sheets 1 time 50% of the edging on the sheet frayed (fell apart). Nevertheless, I put them on my bed to experience softness. First I noticed the fitted sheet was very deep for our matress and did not fit correctly (we have a pillow-top that is deeper than a normal matress and the fitted sheet was still much to deep). After the bed was made my husband and I got in and were greatly suprised by the very hot sheets and uncomfortable feel. They are not sheets I will ever buy for any amount of money (I don't care how cheep). I truly believe the regular 250 count from wal-mart has much more COMFORT than "Egyptian Comfort"! I am not into writing reviews, but I can't stand these sheets and want to warn you smart people who check out reviews before buying!...
...

I got these sheets at the State Fair because they were what I thought was a great deal. Super high thread count sheets for only $30, I thought I had scored! WRONG!!! It has been 2 months and these sheets are already falling apart. They started pilling (getting little lint balls) after just 2 washes, and now they have weird rips, tears, and stretchings throughout the whole bed. I am not super hard on my sheets and I have many sheets that I rotate them with and my other sheets have stood up for a couple of YEARS!!! Not only are they falling apart but after I washed them a couple of times they weren't even soft anymore and feel all bumpy and linty. They are so stretched out that they don't even fit right on the bed now. I definitely will think twice before purchasing anything without looking into it first, no matter how great the 'deal' may seem!!!!
...

This blanket is great. It does warm up right away and the fact that it turns off after 3 hours is great for those who may forget. I have never seen a blanket with so many safety features. It runs a self test everytime you turn it on. If all of the lights start blinking you can forget about using it for at least 10 mins. It has to reset which means you have to turn it off and unplug it. Don't push the buttons too many times in a row or you may have to wait as long as 20 to 30 mins for it to reset. I had no idea a blanket could be so tricky until I read the instructions. You are not likely to start a fire with this one. It's safe. Maybe too safe.
...

TunefulGal says "Here's a great mattress for platform beds! Newer models now in." about Ikea Sultan Forsbacka

Go to Ikea and lie down on a Sultan. Take 90 days and try one at home. Ikea will exchange it if you don't like it.

The favorites at our house are the latex and latex/foam models we bought several years ago. Mine is a single Forsbacka, placed on a box spring. My husband Pal's is a queen size set on a platform bed. Both have very sturdy covers which you can clean with upholstery shampoo. They also come with handles for turning them around or flipping them over. Best to invite a couple of muscle men over to help though. Foam/latex mattresses weigh a ton!

I think Pal has the best deal. His Sultan Mattress rests on the platform and supports, supports, supports his often-tired back. My Sultan on the box spring has taken a few dips since I usually cozy up in one position. That said, I'm glad it's my single-bed size that needs the occasional turn-around or flip. But I continue to look for a platform bed I like.

For my 4yr old daughters birthday I got her a Bed in a bag from JCPenneys. It was a complete bedding set for a very reasonable price. The colors are very bright and after several washings (due to a few night time accidents) the colors are still true!

It came with a comforter that reverses from print to solid, 2 pillow shams (because she has a full size bed), coordinating 200 thread-count sheet set with fitted sheet, flat sheet, and 2 matching pillowcases, and a bedskirt with 14" drop that fits footboard and coordinates with both sides of comforter! It was everything I was looking for and so much more!

It's not super soft but it is comfortable, and seems to be getting better with each wash! It has matching curtains and accent pillows that you can add to make the room complete.
...

I bought this sheet set for my daughter then had to go out and get a set for me too! They are like flannel sheets but a bit thinner. They don't get the pile that flannel sheets get so that's a plus!

If you have a favorite Jersey shirt then you will love the sheets. They are just so soft and comfortable. They are warm enough to compare to flannel sheets in the winter yet light weight enough for you to use them in the summer and feel comfortable too!

My feet are always cold and I generally like it warmer in the house than my husband does so at least at night I can be super warm with my controller set to about 5 and my husband can be comfortable and have his set on Lo. It's like the Sleep Number Bed...only better if you ask me!

Just last winter the heated mattress pad was a life saver, the furnace went out while my husband was on a business trip. I didn't notice it until 2am! I couldn't call anyone and I had no clue how to relight the pilot light. Luckily I had this lovely heated mattress pad to keep me warm in bed and as for the rest of the house...we have an EdenPure Heater that worked great too!

You can feel the box at the end only if your feet seem to rest in the middle of the bed, and you can feel the warming wires with your hands if you are trying to. Otherwise all you feel if the great warmth that it provides!!
...

I purchased this electric blanket for warmth mainly, as I live in the Northern Plains, South Dakota, to be exact, and our winters can be extremely cold. I have already used it this fall numerous times, and I have never regretted my decision to purchase it. I felt the price was decent, when compared to other ones on the market. The blanket works very well, and the feel of it when the heating element is turned off is soft. The color I chose harmonizes well with the other comforter on my bed, so it doesn't look or feel like some of those heavy, unwieldly electric blankets from the past. As far as the heating element goes, the consistent warmth is great on aging, ailing bones. Climbing in under the Sealy heated blanket covers makes bedtime worthwhile. I guess I would highly recommend this blanket especially if you are an older person like myself, or one who may live in a colder climate, or both.
...

I have always been a summer girl and really hate winters, mainly because I hate being cold. At night I constantly wear layers and have several blankets on my bed. I found a great solution for keeping cozy and comfortable at night with this Sunbeam Electric Blanket - queen size. It fits snuggly on my bed, and I bought this blanket in white so it matches everything. It seems to repel dust, so it doesn't wear and tear over time. I bought this for about $55 and it is the perfect way for keeping warm in the winters. It has a really long cord that connects to both sides of the blanket, but the temperature is easy to control. By a flip of the switch, you can switch it on or off and it has a comfort level on the dial, so you can be a moderate temperature at 5 or less, or if you want to get really warm you can dial in 6-10. I typically turn it on about thirty minutes before I go to bed, so that my bed is warm when it is time to go to sleep. I never overheat, and the dial is easy...
...

Hands down, one of the best Christmas gifts I ever received. It's the Sunbeam electric blanket, queen size, dual controls. I've had it for at least several years now. It's held up well, the only exception being that after a couple of washes, one of the controllers is now touchy. My husband gave it to me as an early present one year with I was huddled under the covers with the flu. It could not have come at a better time. I've used it every year since, flu or not, sick or well. It's just that cozy.

This blanket is an absolute must for couples who are constantly at different body temperatures. There's much less complaining and bickering when each person controls the temperatures on his/her side of the bed. The dual controls also have different color covers that are easy to swap out. It makes for easier room cordination. I believe the colors that mine came with were a dark gray and a beige/off white color.

I bought this blanket in fall 2008, and it worked great through March of this year, when I packed it up for storage. When I brought it out this year, however, the heating elements on one side failed within a few days of our using the blanket. Sunbeam says it's not within warranty, so they don't cover it. It was a nice blanket last year, but I would recommend spending a little more to get a product that will last longer - we're going to have to buy a new one now, and if I'd paid more for a quality blanket I'd have saved in the long run.

I'm also really not keen on the fabric it's made of. It is 100% acrylic, and it pills terribly. Not only that, the fabric took on the color of our burgundy sheets in patches, which makes it always look dirty even when freshly laundered. It's not really soft, although unlike some other blankets I've tested it isn't scratchy - it just feels fake. I never sleep with it against my skin, though, so that doesn't bother me too much.
...

Don't even think twice. Just buy it and save your self a lot of grief.

Though I put my children to sleep in their own beds they love to sleep in the bed with me (they sneak into bed almost every night at 3am---but that's another story). My 5 year old has accidents that usually results in me having a dream about water. And now the 6 year old says that he "sweats a lot over night" and "that's why the bed is wet". His "sweat" usually means a change of underwear in the middle of the night.

Much more so than the plastic cover that I replaced. It is a bit more expensive but worth it. I would buy again. I actually have two. The first one I bought about 6 years ago and it is still in very good condition even after being washed many, many times. Buy this one--don't waist your money with others.

I bought the Sunbeam Microplush Warming Throw for a good friend last winter. My friend loved it, he was staying in a family's basement and it was cold during the winter down there as the heat did not reach the basement and the electric heaters only get you so far and they are very costly to run everyday and night with electricity being one of the highest bills in the summer no one wants it to be that high in the winter months to. Thanks to having a Sunbeam microplush warming throw which is absolutely warm to get him through those cold months, he was able to use the electric heaters very minimally in the winter and only turning them on at night just to take the edge off, to not only save electric and heating costs but to be comfortable and snug. A lot of other brand electric blankets just are not very cozy, they are efficient on being warm but not comfortable to have on, so you end up using blanket layers to have the same effect that the Sunbeam throw gives you. If you get cold easy in...
...

If you buy directly from the Designer Bedding Premier Boutique they will add two designer shams and one decorator boudior pillow.

katcelata says "Finally!!! A Good Night's Sleep!" about Eco-Friendly 2-inch Memory Foam Mattress Topper

Recently I was desperate to replace my worn out mattress. I was gifted with just about new mattress and box spring set, and I was thrilled, times are tough and bed sets are expensive. Well, my anticipation greatly exceeded actuality. The sets had been bought wholesale for guest rooms and were rock bottom of the line, and rock hard on my bottom!!! I have never had a more interrupted sleep, and was waking up in pain. Thank goodness for the Eco-Friendly 2" Memory Foam Topper, which I purchased at incredible savings from Overstock. Despite cautions that it may take 48 hrs to air out and fluff up, mine was useable out of the wrapping, and I was able to sleep on it that night. What an AMAZING difference. I am a heavy woman, sad to say, but important to this review. The pain I was getting in my hip from this very hard mattress was gone in two nights. Even though the topper is only 2 inches, with my weight, it does the trick. I am so comfortable, so relieved- and, I save $115.00 on this!!! Now,...
...

GarfieldCollector says "these blankets have a tendency to stop warming after a few years" about Sunbeam Electric Blanket - queen size

I have bought a few of these phones over the past several years, and all but one has failed after use. They will usually get thru 1-2 years before gradually decreasing in warmth, then may give out entirely. I have bought the twin, queen and full sizes for various rooms and the twin is the one that is still going.

Amazing that the lowest cost one is the blanket that is still working, while the pricier queen & full sizes have both ceased working. Sunbeam has not been very cooperative on the replacements, and the stores will not take back something that has been used for that length of time. Just buyer beware that they can work well when new but have been known to give out over time...
...
