There are some subjects you just want to talk about. This review is about one of those topics. Maxi Pads. UGH - I hate that word, and I hate the time of month that goes along with it, but....still. There are some products you come across that are just so 'different' that you HAVE to share your experience. Here's mine.

Always Maxi Overnight Extra Heavy Flow pads. WOOF! I have never in my life seen a maxi pad that is as large as this thing. I mean it is HUGE. GIANT! A surfboard! For the sake of this review, I'm sitting here with a ruler so I can measure the size of this thing. Here it goes.... While still in it's individual wrapper it measures over 1/2", obviously when it's unwrapped it's not nearly as thick. The length of this maxi pad is what I find so unbelievable! I just measured it and it measured at 15" long. THAT IS OVER ONE FOOT of maxi pad that you are supposed to wear while you sleep. Good luck with that! (Oh, also they have wings so they cover...
...

Susie-34668 says "Halls Refresh do work but are a little disappointing" about Halls Halls Refresh

Halls Refresh Advanced Moisture Action Juicy Strawberry sugar free candy are just that. Being sugar free, I thought that my husband would enjoy them, as he is diabetic.

However, I wanted to try them first. I was lucky enough to buy them for a dollar, and pleased that I hadn't paid anymore than that.

They are very small and don't even come halfway up the packet. There are 20 individually wrapped candies altogether.

They are to help a dry throat and I think that they probably do. The strange thing is that although I can taste the strawberry, but there is also another taste, more like a medicine, and that spoils it. Also being sugar free, it leaves you with an aftertaste, which isn't particularly nice.

My husband quite liked them, so I passed them over to him. I personally think that Halls should stick to their cough drops. They do a fantastic job with those.

If these hadn't have been new, and at a bargain price, I wouldn't have bought them. A disappointing product for me.
...

WARNING:My wife took my son to Walgreen's Take Care Clinic. We have Blue Cross and Blue Shied "suitcase log" Insurance. The attendant told us they accepted that kind of insurance. So, she paid the copay. So, I went in a day or two later and I paid the copay. The other day I recieved two bills for the remainder of the visits ($40 each). I called Take Care Health. They told me to call Blue Cross and Blue Shield to see why they did not pay. Blue Cross told us they were "In Network" but because of who treated us they would not pay. I called Walgreens. They said they would check into it. Walgreens response "that was correct" and told me to pay up. Well, I have been to the doctor a couple of times and never even thought of asking who was treating me if they were a doctor or if i could see their doctors credentials. This was a shock to me. What does "In Network" mean if they won't pay. Why does Walgreen have an "In Netork" status if it does no good to be "In Network". I feel I was duped into...
...

Hearing aids make the deaf and hard of hearing people able to hear sounds. It is true that any hearing aids do not work forever. They do wear down and from time to time. Hearing aids are also prone to breaking.

What does the person do in case of hearing aid breakage? First is not to panic. I have often did that when I first notice the responsibilities that go with having a hearing aid. Second is take it to your local hearing aid/audiologist place. If you have insurance coverage, the repair fee would be waive. If you don't have insurance coverage, the cost of repairing the hearing aids can at least be $150 per hearing aid. The hearing aid specialist sends the hearing aid(s) to get it repaired if they can't repair it on site. Now comes the waiting part. I usually don't like this part, but every one has to go through the process when owing hearing aids. When the hearing aid(s) is repaired and sent back to the specialist, the specilaist thane calls you to tell you that...
...

yellowtulip says "Works great, comfortable, and looks like a little blue tooth." about ReSound Metrix

I began losing my hearing in my early 30's due to some genetic wiring passed along from my grandma, to my mom, and now my sister and me. I'm now 44, and find being hard of hearing a real annoyance. I was very embarrassed to have to wear ugly flesh toned plugs in my ears. But it's even worse having to constantly ask people to repeat themselves.

Over the past 14 years I have tried a couple of hearing aides. So far, the ReSound Metrixis the best. It is an over the ear style which at first made me feel like an old lady. However, I chose a model in silver and grey instead of the old flesh tone, and have found that most people who notice it think it is some sort of really modern blue tooth system. It has good sound quality, cuts out background noise, and depending on your level of hearing loss, can be fitted with a small clear tube which most people don't even notice. Now, when I wear my hair down, people don't notice I wear hearing aides.

I purchased my ReSound Metrix hearing aids three years...
...

My wife is at the South Campus (behavioral health unit), and she says it is very dirty. She had a reaction to some medicine they gave her (which they should not have given her to begin with because of her epilepsy), and she got sick and vomited. The pan they gave her to vomit in just sat in her room all day. She informed the staff and they told her to keep it in case she did it again. She had to clean it out herself, and they did not take it out of her room until the next day. Also, she was not given her anti-seizure medicine until I threatened to sue them.

The patients on her unit have to share a drinking cup for taking their meds. One patient has pneumonia and others have coughs, yet they're making them all share the same cup????? To top it off, she asked for a simple Tylenol and was told that they were too busy doing paperwork to get one for her. They rarely clean out the trash cans in the patient rooms. The staff is also very rude to me when I call to check on her, and she complains...
...

When I realized I was having trouble hearing, I went in for the testing and was told I would benefit from hearing aids. There was progressive loss compared against my previous testing, and needed hearing aids that could accommodate tech use as well as singing. I did a lot of research and found the Oticon Duel Mini. The size is pretty important to me, I hated the thought of wearing a hearing aid at any point, but especially when I think I should just be way to young to need it! The hearing aids are virtually undetectable when worn: I have to point them out for any one to notice at all. There is a large number of colors available, and I chose one that blends in with my hair color-blonde-perfectly. I can hear things ten miles away! Not quite, but I had to relearn how to block out background noise in the best way possible. I can use blue-tooth with these hearing aids, and a host other use options are available. The technology is utterly amazing, including the fact that these hearing...
...

I am on chronic pain meds which have been impossible to find anywhere on the east coast since February of 2009. I used to be able to go to a pharmacy and get the meds no problem, but now I need to call my doctor, have the prescription mailed, and send it to Carmark who can take two weeks or more to send it to me! I finally got the timing down but knew one month was going to be close to I used a black gel pen and colored in the 2 day option. It was completely ignored although when I called, the rep said he could clearly see that I had choosen that option. I had to go three days without pain meds which took another 4 days to get down to a functional level because of the level of pain that had built up.

The rep told me that I could send the next order in on the 10th of the next month and get three months at once. I sent the next presciption which arrived ONE DAY EARLY and instead of them holding it for a day they mailed it back to me, which took them over a week to do. I spoke...
...

Quick View: I discovered this tea while browsing around online and, because I have sore throats a lot in the winter, bought a box. As it happens, I got a sore throat soon after and tried the tea. It's not bad and does sooth my throat. I can't drink it though because it lowers my potassium level. However, in general, this tea is safe and effective.

My Take on Yogi Tea Throat Comfort, Organic, Caffeine Free Tea

This tea comes16 bags to a box and is naturally caffeine free. It has natural sweetness to it and it tastes like black licorice. I don't like that taste very much but, with a little honey and lemon, the tea is just fine. When I drank it, my throat was coated and soothed. My mucus membranes opened up and my sinuses drained which relieved my stuffy head.

This tea can be drank as often as one wants and kids can benefit from it as well. It contains nothing artificial and has a blend of many herbs and spices to coat, soothe, and relieve sore, scratchy throats. Singers and speakers often...
...

My best investment in my lifetime ! Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar, I could not get this at my usual discount outlets. I had to go to a health food store. If ever anything was worth spending two dollars in gas to go a bit out of my way, it's Bragg's. I keep this in abundance at my house these days. This product has so many ways to be useful around the house it would be hard to name all of them. I will start by a very popular problem alot of us face. Weightloss, yah, I said it, the dreaded topic of war against the almighty twinkie. I am not sure why, but taking a few teaspoons with a small cup of water a couple of times a day has given me great results. I am losing inches off my waistline and Bragg's instantly gives me energy without feeling hungry. I take it about twice daily before meals. Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar has worked as an ear infection remedy for my dog ! Diluted with water, I cleaned his ears out twice daily , an infection that lingered through four visits to the vet and many...
...

I had the older version of this that didn't have heat, and it was fabulous. Now I have the one that has heat as well and I am in heaven every time I use it! I enjoy getting a warm massage when it is really cold out because the cold hurts my joints...this helps with both my pain and warms me up!

It has 2 sets of I think 2 roller balls that spin while they move up and down the length of the massager, so it is supposed to get your whole back, plus you get the added bonus of a warm massage! You can change the pressure simply by leaning onto the back pad more or less and you can actually just move your body to the most comfortable position.

The negative is that it can be expensive, but I always use coupons and wait for sales, so I know I could have gotten a good deal on it...but it was my Christmas present so I don't know how much my husband actually paid!

pitcherday says "Amazingly strong repositionable safety bar for the bath" about As Seen On TV Get A Grip Safety Bar

I'm a bath taker. I only take showers when I am on a time crunch. I rent the townhouse I live in now, and there are no handles, ridges, bars of any type to help me get out of the bathtub! The bottom of the tub is smooth too. It used to be difficult to get out of the tub for me. I was in Walgreens and saw this As Seen On TV Get A Grip safety bar, and it wasn't too expensive, so I decided to give it a shot.

I have never had any long-term luck with anything with suction cups on it. It doesn't matter what I do, the cups lose their sticking power relatively easily, and that's with a shower scrubby attached, never mind a person weighing over 100 pounds using it as the only leverage to get out of a tub.

These are not your ordinary suction cups. First, make sure you clean and dry the surface (horizontal or vertical) you want to stick the Get A Grip safety bar on. It looks like an old-fashioned telephone, and on both ends are levers. When the levers are up, the suction cups are not engaged. Place...
...

I am back into the land of clear hearing. With my new ReSound hearing aids, I can hear sounds that I have missed out on for the past 20 years. I never realized what I was missing out on until I started using these hearing aids. My children do not have to tell me that my cell phone is ringing, I can actually hear paper shuffling, footsteps, etc. I can now hear all of the prayer requests at church, even when I am not facing the speaker. I no longer have to continually ask my science students to repeat their words in class. My children can no longer sneak up behind me to scare me!

I had tried a different brand of hearing aid, and I was quite comfortable with them for a litle while, but I had great difficulty with the sound I now heard when I played my cello. A long screech accompanied the bowing on the A & D strings, which drove me crazy! (And no, it was not my playing! My teacher vouched for that.)

I have always enjoyed the green tea drink either hot or cold and also the green tea pills have been helpful to me as an appetite suppresant so I thought why not try the gum also as after lunch each day at work I had been using gum as cannot have privacy in the bathroom to brush teet as I would like and no storage room for toothbrush, toothpaste and pocket book is full enough. I always have room for gum in purse and desk drawer and others come ask for gum so this is a conversation piece and allows other to try a product without investing their money in it. The gum is interesting and I like the flavor and although I do not think this product should/could really be used as a weight loss program it would be too expensive with the "directions" for chewing how many pieces so many days and so on I do think it is good without the sugar and other addetives. I have gotten interested in products that work as antioxidants and was willing to give this a try.
...

As a chronic allergy suffer and victim of many a prescription with side effects I decided to get this to try it to see after all what else could be worse and if it worked. It is so weird pushing water up your nose after years of keeping it out in the swimming pool! The process with the medicated packet and distilled water and bottle was so nice and simple. It takes a few times to get the angle right and when your sinuses are really blocked the water comes out the other nostril - I learned to have my "toilet paper" kleenex handy to blow gently after I am done - I use this daily and even if I do not get unblocked I feel the cleaning helps the infections, germs, dust, and what ever else that builds up in nasal passages and I think this product also helps to keep the passages from being so dry and I have not had nose bleeds or sore spots as I use to do. This is worth the yuckiness and strange feeling of the water going up your nose - just do not breethe while you are using it!
...

Damp Rid used to make a flat disk with a light-smelling product on both sides of the cardboard. The product absorbed moisture and could be hung by the pre-cut hole, or leanned against a basement wall, or hooked over a hanger for the back of a closet. These were great little de-humidifiers! Unfortunately, the Florida company discontinued these!!

The company decided to keep making the "product with a bag". As moisture collects through the product, it drops into a bag which of course gets heavier and heavier as water collects. The bag takes on a partly sticky feel when it gets full. It's harder to hang just anywhere...because the bag needs room to expand and because it gets heavy. It bends a thin wire hanger (the discontinued product never did).

Damp Rid as a product is great=5

But because they discontinued their best product=2

They won't listen to customers who want the old product back! = 2

Average=2.5, just an average company who won't hear customers' needs and wants
...

tripindogg says "Made for those of us who can't swallow" about Bayer Bayer Quick Release Crystals

I love love love the Bayer Quick Dissolving Aspirin. I can't say enough good things about it.

When I was younger, I was sick for three months. Nothing would heal me. I went to the doctor, and he tried putting me on meds, but the trouble was that I couldn't swallow pills. My doctor even gave me a hand out with different directions about swallowing pills. No such luck. I was stuck crushing up the pills, putting them in a spoon, adding a bit of liquid, and swallowing them that way. It totally defeated the purpose of the medicine by exposing so much surface area. My other alternative was to chew the pills, which tasted terrible.

Thank goodness for Bayer Quick Dissolving Aspirin.

It's powdered, which is awesome. You just open the pack, put the crystals on your tongue, and let them dissolve. They're citrus flavored, so you don't get that gross aftertaste, and they start working really quickly. You should take them with a glass of water, which helps with swallowing it all. They're really great!...
...

fredlevineserv says "What happened to Promise Active Supershots ??????" about Promise Activ Super Shots

This product help reduce my bad cholesterol by over 40 points. A few months ago I went to refill my stock, and to my shock I could not buy the product anywhere any longer. I am upset, so upset, here is a natural product provided over the counter, thats good for my heath and natural, and it's GONE? Why? I feel like it's a conspiracy from the drug companies! Why would someone take a chemical prescribed pill, if they could simply take a little drink everyday. I am a busy business owner of FLS Discount Supplies. Running my own online supplies store, keeps me running, and I am sorry to say I don't eat well, or take good care of myself. Fast food drive throughs are sooooo easy! I miss my supershots, not to mention how it helped regulate my bowel movements. I suffer from cronic constipation, so this product was great in so many ways. And sadlly with a full bowel lol, and my heart clogging all over again, I am left still wondering what happened to my supershots!
...

sleepingKelly says "Save your child's hearing without upsetting them!" about Peltor 90553 Junior Earmuffs

My stepmother is an audiologist so I grew up with a knowledge of decibels and its affect on hearing. With my recent war on dog hair, I've become acutely aware of the volume of the vacuum cleaner. I love my dyson, but I love my daughter's hearing more. At first, I tried leaving her in her pack'n'play while I vacuumed in the other room, but she was upset by the loud noise and disappearance of her momma. I also tried waiting until my husband was home so he could hang with her while I vacuumed, but that didn't happen as frequently as needed. Finally, I ordered a pair of Peltor Junior Earmuffs.

I was a little worried that my daughter wouldn't tolerate them, but I was happily surprised that she was completely ambivalent. Now I can clean the floors without permanently damaging her hearing, and, as an added bonus, she looks stinkin' cute in them!

I would like to ask a question."Who has influence your life the moct?". My late grandmother Margaret Elizabeth Killian influenced my life the most.My grandmother showed me tremnedous stength. She taught me that you didn't have to live up to lables that others may put on you.You didn't need a man to validate you and most of all what true love, devotion and friendship means. These lessons in life that my grandmother taught me made me the strong person that I am today.I lost alot as a kid and my grandma was always there for me.When I had no parents to care for me nor any home my grandma was there to welcome me.As a child I basically lost both of my parents. My mother committed suicide and my father just turned me away and went on about his life but my grandma never did.She took me and she built me up.No matter how bad things were I could always find comfort in knowing that someone seen something great in me and I had a committment for life. This gave me confidence as a teen and as an adult.I...
...
