AnnaBanana says "This is serious stuff ... REALLY!" about GlaxoSmithKline Beano

Somehow it is hard to take seriously enough a product designed to control flatulance. Ribald commercials larded with almost Vaudevillian humor ("It even works on HUSBANDS!", Yuk yuk yuk!) don't help to promote a sense of proper gravity either. Nevertheless, SmithGlaxoKline's Beano ("Take Beano before and there will be no gas after!) is an earnest little product vested with a serious mission -- to help those people who suffer from Complex Carbohydrate Intolerance (CCI) and therefore have a problem digesting things like: — Grains: — Bagels, barley, breakfast cereals, granola, oatbran, pasta, rice bran, rye, sorghum (grain), wheatbran, whole wheat flour, and whole grain breads. — Vegetables: — Beets, broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, corn, cucumbers, leeks, lettuce, onions, parsley and sweet peppers. — Beans: — Black-eyed peas, bog beans, broad beans, chickpeas, lentils, lima beans, mung beans, peanuts and peanut butter,...

Roxann831 says "If I'd have known it was that easy, I would have used it first!!" about Member's Mark Ranitidine Heart Burn Relief

My husband gets acid reflux SO BAD. He gets them pretty much no matter what he eats... but worse on food like spaghetti or tacos... and he gets it real bad if he's stressed out. Anyways... nights like that he eats Tums like they are potato chips, chugs Malox like its a milk shake and NOTHING HAPPENS. My mom got him a bottle of these pills (comparable to Zantac) about 2 weeks ago. He religiously takes these pills (3 at a time) right before bed and he HASN'T HAD HEARTBURN SINCE (and the first night he took them I made chicken caciatore to give them a good run for their money)!!! These have been the miracle drug for him for 2 weeks now. I'm going to ask my doctor about taking these for long term use and if he says anything bad I will update the review... but I don't see why, they seem harmless. —...

Omeprazole is a Generic for the prescription and other brand name over the counter acid reducers. The content of 20mg per pill is the same as the brand names, and this product works exactly the same. — This generic can now be found at all drug stores, supermarkets, and wholesale warehouses for a fraction of the cost of the brand names. — If you have a health plan, talk to your doctor about having the generic prescribed to you. When filled at a pharmacy with a prescription paid through you health plan the savings can be even greater. I paid $6.00 for a 90 day supply because my doctor prescribed it. Just because it is over the counter doesn't mean your insurance company won't pay for it. — There is absoltuely no difference between this generic and the higher priced names brands. It's a great value! —...

viewkgr says "This med works so fast, I am in awe." about Prilosec OTC

OK, I had a severe attack of heartburn this morning, and luckily for me, I could reach for my little Prilosec tab to ease the awful pain. I probably only have heartburn one or maybe two times a month, but when I do, it is severe. — After taking this over the counter med, the pain is gone in less than 10 minutes. I have never had an episode that Prilosec didn't handle. Therefore, I can truly say that I rely on Prilosec to ease the pain, and I keep it handy in my bathroom cabinet as well as on my office desk. — It is a little pricey for a package, but then I only have to take it once or twice a month, so a package lasts me a long while. Woe is me if I am away from home and don't have any in my purse. — I have to agree with the reviewer who wrote about how difficult it is to get the dosage out of the foil packets it comes in. You have to try to peel away a layer of paper and then punch the pill out of a foil packet. I wish they...

I'm 5 and a half months pregnant, so I get heartburn just about every five minutes. I absolutely hate the taste of most antacids and they simply make me more sick to my stomach than I was before. I pikced up the Tums Smoothies Cocoa and Creme at some little hole in the wall store around Houston and finally found something I could take without getting that terrible chalky taste. They actually taste like hot chocolate with creme. I love chocolate, but my favorite ones are the creme. I tend to pick those out of the bottle first!. One warning - keep them away from the kids, they'll eat...

LoveisJoy says "Not Just For Heartburn..." about Prilosec OTC

In a former life, Prilosec was a heartburn medication that could only be purchased with a physician's prescription. Like so many other former prescription meds, Prilosec is now available over-the-counter and it is also used for purposes other than heartburn. Prilosec (generic name: omeprazole) works by decreasing the production of stomach acid at the source. Therefore, it not only works for relentless heartburn, but it also is used to treat symptoms of GastroEsopageal Reflux Disease (also known as GERD) and help heal erosive esophagitis (which is a fancy way of describing damage to your esophagus caused by the burning effects of excess stomach acid). — My specialist introduced me to Prilosec a few years ago to help treat gastric ulcers. Strangely, I didn't have any problems with heartburn or acid reflux, but the ulcers caused terrible stomach pain during the course of the day. I was given Prilosec to take every day for six months (under my doctor's...

This product is good if you don't mind your food or drink being gritty or you could wait 5 minutes to let it desolve. Once it desolves it is undetectable. I have been struggling all of my life to keep regular. I have tried so many different products that I was unhappy with. So I decided to give it a try. Unlike other products it doesn't give you gas. For me it seems to be the most convenient and effective on the market....

My husband knows I like chili dogs and tonight he surprised me with chili cheese dogs with bacon...oh the love and sweet because he isn't a big chili dog lover. — I just had one and I was feeling it big time...(pleasant picture, burping and feeling it in my tummy if you know what I mean).
I started taking Zantac years ago when it was still a prescription medication. It was prescribed to help prevent stomach trouble from anti-inflammatories I took for my rheumatoid arthritis. It worked extremely well, and as far as I could tell, I suffered no side effects, even though I took it daily for years. — — These days I don't need a daily dose of Zantac, but when I do have an acid stomach or heartburn, I turn to the OTC Zantac for relief. It still works great, and I like the fact that several different strengths are now available. Zantac works quickly and relieves my symptoms. —...

Benefiber tops the list of my choices for a fiber supplement. This one, in particular, really provides results for your regularity problem. — This is a fantastically easy to use powder. You can put it in foods, mix it in liquids, and even drink it in plain water, and you would never know that it is there. There is no taste, and so you have no after taste.
