HeHo says "I would recommend Chantix to anyone! " about CHANTIX

Short and sweet: I've smoked a pack to a pack and a half a day for 12 years. I've made several lame attempts to quit in the past. One quit was for four months using the nicotine patch....this was a tough four months primarily because I was having to use the "will power method" and still had nicotine in my system. I've been smoke free now for 27 days and while it's still early yet, I can never imagine picking up another cigarette. I believe you have to be ready to quit smoking on the Chantix, but it lessons the "wanting to jump out of my skin" feeling or the "I'm so mad at the world I could pop" feeling. I still have an "empty" feeling (or craving) from time to time (these have lessoned incredibly), but they are so much more managable with Chantix that they are almost nonexistent. I am no longer embarrassed by the smell of cigarettes on my person, my health thanks me, I can breathe (most important), and life in general...

My husband has suffered two heart attacks, triple bypass surgery and a stroke, each time the doctors told him he had to quit smoking. When he had his bypass surgery 3 years ago the doctors told him if he did not quit he would be back in surgery within 5 years. He did not listen to the doctors and continued to smoke. His reason was that nothing worked and because he smoked for 35 years he could not quit. He stated he tried everything and nothing would work. Well about a year ago he became a proud grandfather and decided life was too short and would like to be around to see his granddaughter grow up. He talked to his doctor about Chantix and started the drug in April 2007. He went from smoking two packs of cigarettes a day down to 2 to 3 cigarettes a day within 2 months. He started to tell me that he would start to smoke a cigarette and could not finish it. By the end of 6 months he was smoking 2 to 3 cigarettes every 2 to 3...

I am 21 started smoking when I was 12, I smoked about a pack a day. I thought it would be a good birthday persent to myself and those who want to grow old with me, so I researched Chantix like crazy a few months before my quit date (my 21st birthday). — Week one, I still smoked on it, never got sick, no crazy dreams, sleep like a baby, I was fine. The day of my birthday I slept at my boyfriends house and he must have throw my pack out when we got home the night before... let me tell you that was the best thing that ever happend to me. I forgot my Chantix that day and I was driving out to the lake which was about an hour away and I was going nuts!!! The cravings past once we got to the lake. — I started week two on Chantix yesterday. It sort of makes me want to throw up but it passes after the first 45 mins. I haven't gotten that urge to smoke that makes you want to go crazy, which I am thankful for. I also signed up for...

I really wanted to quit smoking. A few people had spoken to me about how well Chantix worked. — So I was skeptical just like you, right? But I did a little bit of homework online and talked to my doctor about Chantix. I was lucky that my insurance covered most of the cost, so I started taking it. — Two days after I started taking it, I stopped enjoying the act of smoking. There was just no satisfaction in it; none at all. Heck, I didn't even wait the 7 days that you're supposed to before you quit, I stopped after 5 days. — I haven't had ONE serious craving yet, eight days later. Just don't seem to care at all. I like this stuff. — CONS? Seriously intense dreams. I've always been a vivid dreamer, but wow! And when the label says that you might want to eat before you take Chantix, listen to it. Really. Bad stuff will happen to you if you don't, I promise. That's it,...

Upon findings of spots on my mother's lungs, the whole family decided to quit smoking. Althought I did not want to, I started my Chantix on a Friday afternoon and by Sunday I could not stand to sit in the bedroom with my smoking boyfriend. My boyfriend began taking his pills on Monday. We both stopped taking them after about a week and a half to two weeks in. I am proud to say that I have been smoke free for 5...

I've been taking Chantix for almost 2 weeks and it does help. I've quit before...once for two years and most recently for ten years. I know ...I'm an idiot. But I remember how difficult it was before and this seems a lot different. The medication doesn't throw your cigarettes away and stop you from smoking, but it makes it significantly easier. I did have nausea for the first week and I still have trouble sleeping ( I just take the Chantix right after dinner and then a sleeping pill about an hour before bed and that helps). I know people are scared about the long term effects, but look at the long term effects of smoking. I really dont think smoking is an option anymore. We know too much about the consequences to pretend it's okay. I applaud any tool that can help someone quit. — ...

mistergeminib says "3 months smoke-free with depression side effects" about CHANTIX

My wife and I were both smokers for over 30 years. Our Dr. recommended that we try the Chantix program and work as a team to support eachother. We did the first week, taking the pills and still smoking, then the second week was pills with no smoking. We both thought we were on the right road and that we had finally found a cure for both saving our health plus money spent on cigarettes. We remained smoke-free for an entire 3 months, but it wasn't easy, especially for my wife. One of the side effects of Chantix is depression and that was what she suffered from. She said there was no reason to drink her morning coffee, answer the phone or enjoy anything pleasant because those things just weren't worth it anymore now that she did not have her old habit of smoking. That worried me. Also on the program she experienced vivid dreams that were not pleasant. After the 3 months and time to renew the prescription, she refused and began intermittently smoking again. Gradually she is back to...

I started Chantix 10 days ago, and I couldn't be happier. I've been reading blogs online, to see if I could relate to anyone else's experiences, and I'm a bit put-off by the negative comments. Chantix is a miracle. It makes cigarettes taste so bad, that you won't want them. Your cravings become less and less. However, you do have to want to stop. The habit of having a cig in the morning, or on a break, or after lunch is hard to replace. I certainly don't want to replace those habits with food, so it is still a battle. That's been the hardest part for me; finding something to replace the habits. I can talk to someone who is smoking and not want one, but I need something to keep my hands busy. I'm sure after a month, I won't have the need to smoke, but I really believe that it's important to finish the 12 week cycle. As far as the cost, how much does it cost to buy cigarettes? After a week you're not smoking so use...

I consider myself a smoker who does not smoke.
I QUIT Smoking, after 32 years.. I used Chantix, it worked. It did make me sick some if I didn't eat anything, and it does mess with your sleeping and dreams. Make sure you read the instructions. I quit after 2 months using Chantix. I set my mind to it, set a date to quit, said a prayer. And it is almost 4 months since I smoked. It don't bother me to be around others that smoke, it just lets me see how stupid I was for smoking. I smell things better than I used to. Now I can smell when others smoke, and boy do they stink, and I used to smell like that. It makes me sick to my stomach now to even smell it. I am so glad I quit. October 1,2007 was my quit date, been smoke free since then. — Thank you God for answering my prayers and getting me the help to quit smoking. Thank you Chantix for letting me be able to quit using your product. I tell everyone I know about it. — ...
