jcatblum says "Easy to follow plan!" about Weight Watchers

I started Weight Watchers online 2 months ago. I did the online because I do NOT want to go to meetings! Also I really don't think I would fit in at meetings, since I just wanted to loose 12 pounds. The plan is easy to follow. I log in and record what I eat as soon as I eat it. If I don't log in as soon as I eat then I seem to forget some things I eat! The points provide me with all I need to eat. I don't like the forums, the format is just not easy to follow. Also I find more recipes at recipezarr than I do at the Weighwatcher site. It is worth $16 a month to keep doing well. I have lost 2 pounds a week since I started.
...

BAMAKRIS says "Weight Watchers is a lifestyle, not just a diet." about Weight Watchers

I tried Weight Watchers for the first time five years ago. I successfully lost forty pounds. I kept it off for over two years. It is more of a lifestyle change than a diet. It allows you to eat whatever you want, but in moderate portions. It teaches you to make healthier choices and how to learn portion control. Like any other way of eating, it only works when you stick to it. Over the last couple of years, I have gained weight due to going back to my old eating habits. I have since started the program again and am down nine pounds so far. I highly recommend this weight loss program for anyone. It is also great for heart patients and diabetic-friendly as well.
...

After trying to lose weight for the last thirty years, I have found that the best way is to get away from the kitchen table. I started by eating smaller portions, and not going back for seconds. That helped, so I added parking a little farther from the store, and having to take even a few more steps a day also helps. I can,t say that I do not eat the occasional piece of chocolate, or that I eat everything that is healthy for me, but I find myself eating more fruits and vegatables , than I used to. The last time I went to my doctor, she said that I lost 10 pounds. That was in a months time. I feel alot better, and my clothes fit a little looser, so I will try to keep up the good work. I have tried to do several diets, and not one of them worked for me. There are so many different things on todays market, I wouldn,t know what to try, if I wanted to, so I guess that I am going to stick to what works for me.
...

I think the hardest part of this program isn't shedding the pounds, or trying to pick out a new wardrobe... but staying committed once you get to where you want to be. It's hard to stay focused when you are the size you want to be. I think that WW could do a better job of supporting their lifetimers. The system is set up great for people that are looking to lose, but once you get down to your goal a lot of the tools they have created don't necessarily apply to you anymore which is why I think a lot of people fall off and have to come back. For all the revenue they are bringing in, working better with restaurants would be ideal for me because I often don't have time to plan and make a meal.
...

AngiBowman says "Change Your Life with WW" about Weight Watchers

I know what it's like to be the "big" girl. You know, the one with the pretty face and nothing else. If you can relate, it's okay! Weight Watchers is here to help.

What Is It?

Weight Watchers (WW) is a "diet" program that encourages lifestyle changes and attitude changse. No, diets don't work. No, this isn't a quick fix. However, it works. If you stick with this program, it's going to work.

How It Works

Everything you eat has a point value to it. You are given a point value, adjusted for your weight and height. You also have a pot of extra points you can use in a week. So, you may have 30 points to use each day, but if you slip up - it's okay! You can use the "pot" of 30 more points for the week to cover any differences.

The program works in 3 ways:

1) Meetings only
2) Online only
3) Meetings + Online

Everything is dependant on what YOU need to change your life.

The Pros

The best thing about this program is that it's real. You're going to have off days. You may even have terrible days. It's...
...

filipinaak0 says "ACAI BERRY CLEANSE "GOT ME FOOLED"" about Acai Berry Cleanse

I bought the 10 day cleanse "Acai Berry", it came in two bottles. I finished the 1st bottle and did not experience anything positive at all. As a matter of fact, I got constipated for 3 days, while I had a regular VM before taking this product. The 4th day I thought I would need to see a doctor since I had no urge at all to have a VM. I forced myself to go. This product is a SCAM and I wish I could return the rest. Total waste of my money. All the good reviews I've seen and gross pictures of their VM, I just don't believe it now. I think it's just for advertisement. It works though because I bought this product, to find out that it's not for real. This "ACAI BERRY CLEANSE" does not work. Don't be a victim!! All I lost was my money. The weight loss, more energy that they talked about, NON EXISTENT!

What surprised me the most, I bought this at COSTCO and I am dissapointed that they would carry a product that doesn't work. At least I don't have to worry about my card being charged if I bought...
...

If anybody remembers Dr. Herman Tarnower, it's probobably because of the scandal when Jean Harris - the well respected Head Mistress of one of the country's most elite Private Schools - drove to his house, shot him six times and then said she was trying to commit suicide.

But in 1979 he was a private cardiologist who used his experience in cardiology to write The Scarsdale Diet. Within a month of the book's publication it was a best seller.

It promised that you could eat healthy meals, never feel hunger pangs and still lose up to twenty pounds a week. It sure promised a lot but guess what, it delivered.

It was easy to follow because there was a menu for every meal for fourteen days. You knew exactly what to shop for, how to prepare it and what time of day to eat it. It was a two week on/two week off rotation.

It eliminated most carbohydrates but there were daily exceptions for limited amounts of bread and fruit. The Scarsdale Diet was high protein and very little fat. You could eat unlimited...
...

psychgrl01 says "Weight Watchers is a lifestyle change, not a diet!" about Weight Watchers

Weight Watchers is a wonderful lifestyle changing eating system! I have joined Weight Watchers several times (I have had to rejoin due to my own lack of sticking to the program -- no reflection on the actual Weight Watchers program itself!) and have chosen to do both the in person meetings as well as Weight Watchers online. Both are great. In retrospect, I feel that the in person meetings worked the very best for me because I knew that I had a supportive group of people struggling with the same sorts of issues I was who I could check in with each week. I also knew I was going to be weighed and needed to be accountable to that scale! My leader, Jill, was also really wonderful. She did not criticize if I had a less than stellar week but instead focused on what I did well (even if it was just going to the meeting!) and what I could do for the next week. I am currently a member of Weight Watchers online, and I do enjoy it. It gives me all of the tools I need in a handy, online delivery format....
...

Ok, the physician that I worked for who practices "integrative medicine" (a cross between traditional western medicine and alternative medicine) suggested that I try the master cleanse (lemonade) diet. I googled the diet to find out the details. I purchased the necessary ingredients (lemons, cayenne pepper, maple syrup and some laxative tea). First of all, the syrup from a health food store cost me about $70.00 which I wasn't expecting. A girl who worked in the same office agreed to split the cost and do the program with me. She lasted only about 6 hours before giving up (this is not an easy thing to stick to when you have a bunch of people around you eating tempting food). Trying very hard to have will power, I made it 7 days throught the cleanse. I did indeed lose about 12 lbs, but it wasn't long before it came right back..Also, I failed to follow the part of the cleanse that advises you to ease back into eating regular foods. I became extremely tachycardic (very fast pulse rate). My...
...

well, i was definately skeptical of this site and the easy way of how the program works! i thought it was just another bogus product making bogus promises to the consumers that bought weight wathcers products, etc. After seeing my friend who has been big all of her life and choosing to go on this diet plan with weight watchers and how much fun she was having. Yes, fun!! My friend has said this program has helped her immensly and it does not even feel like a diet, more of a way of life! Since i have seen her weight drop immensly in numbers and how easy it looks, i, myself have decided to join weight watchers!!! it is so easy and gives you so much satisfaction to know you are doing something to help you and your future. You should definately try it! it is easy to count points and the food is fairly cheap so you do not have to worry about spending a lot of money, even though this program works beyond what i ever thought it would!
...

The Eat Clean Diet by Tosca Reno is one of my favorite "diet" books. It is not a diet in the general term, meaning starving yourself or eating foods that don't taste good in order to lose weight. Those fad diets always cause you to gain the weight back! This is no diet, it is a lifestyle change. Tosca teaches you about "Eating Clean" which basically means eating food that is good for you, as in no white or processed foods. Don't fret those of you with a sweet tooth, there are many natural sweeteners like Honey and Molasses. You also get to eat often as in 6 times daily! In addition to the Eat Clean Diet book, there are several other books with many very tasty recipes, including one for men and one for families and children. I would definetly recommend eating this way to anyone! Eating clean will definetly help you see your weight loss goals and on top of that help you feel the best you have ever felt when you get all of that junk out of your diet!
...

I joined Weight Watchers with two of my friends. I was the only one of our group that really benefitted from this Weight Watchers program. I stringently adhered to the program. I lost 15 pounds. That may not seem like a lot, but I was not extremely over weight. My friends on the other hand joined with the prospect of losing 50 pounds. Both of my friends had a difficult time sticking to the directions. Remember that to lose weight with any program it is always necessary to "follow the directions". And must is to add mobility to your program. Always add exercise to your weight loss program. And remember that as with Weight Watchers the pounds will easily come off. It is a must to stick to the daily program each and every day. Weight Watchers makes it easy to do that because you have a running diary every day about what you eat, how much you eat and how an active lifstyle can help you maintain your weight loss.
...

I like that I can take it with me wherever I go. Can eat anytime without any mess or clean-up. I use the bars along with the shakes depending on what I am craving. If I feel the need to really chew something then the bars are perfect. I frequently find coupons in the Sunday paper that help with the price. The cost is pretty reasonable if you are using the bars or drinks to replace a meal instead of in addition to one. I have noticed an improvement in the shakes. They are creamier and taste much better than before. I like to blend them with crushed ice to get a fuller feeling that satisfies my hunger longer. I have lost ten pounds during the first week and was very happy with the results. I didn't feel the need to cheat and my energy level remained the same. I use SlimFast every other day now to maintain the weight loss. Doesn't get boring to use.
...

My co-workers laughed at me when I started to do the Special K diet three years ago. Of course I put ninety-seven pounds on I was desperate to try anything to take it off. I tried a lot of diets in the past and failed. So when I saw the ad on the TV for the special K diet I thought to myself it is worth a try. I went to the local grocerty store in town before work on night and got some. I was worriers it wouldn't work like all the others had in the past. But I kept on eating the ceral. After the first two weeks was over I did notice I was in smaller jeans. So I kept on eating the ceral and working out reguraly. My weight was droping off slowly but I was losing it now. I went out and got more ceral and some of the Special K bars and ate them inbetween my meals. I was so excited to be finally losing all the weight. I started walking to work and I started to lose more and more of my weight. Finally something was actual working. It was such a releif of my shoulders, and I started to relax...
...

These REALLY curbed my appetite in the beginning. I had to force myself to eat. I had ample energy. Was totally in love with these at first. Then after a few weeks, I started losing focus and became highly stressed and tense. I woke up every morning with my feet hurting and finally realized it was because I was tenseing up my muscles and flexing my toes throughout the night. Then after a couple months, I got a really bad headache that lasted for over a week. That's when I quit using them. After a week, I was back to my old self. I feel SO much better!
...

kaysten says "Weight watchers for life!" about Weight Watchers

Weight watchers is the greatest way of eating/losing weight that anyone could ever do. Its a diet without doing a diet! All you have to do is count your points. (Or the Flex plan if you choose do that, but I'm just talking about the Points system here). What they teach you is all about learning portion controls and learning your body's hunger signals. Everything you eat has a Points value, so all you have to do is figure out how many Points whatever your eating is and then keep track of them. Keeping track is a must, because it keeps you accountable for everything you eat through out the day. Weight watchers isn't a quick fix. Its not hCg, or a pill where you lose weight fast. Its better than all those options because most people that I know that have done those diets have all gain the weight right back once done. Weight Watchers is more about a change in lifestyle and being accountable, and helps you lose weight a health way. And the best part is, you never have to go without. If you...
...

lizacoupons says "This is not a diet, this is a lifestyle." about South Beach Diet

The South Beach Diet is really not a diet. It is a lifestyle. I started Phase One of Southbeach two and a half years ago. I weighed over 165 pounds. With steady exercise and strict adherence to the guidelines of South Beach Diet, I was able to lose a total of 45 pounds. I now have run 2 marathons, 4 half marathons and countless shorter races.

The positive aspects of South Beach is that it is very specific as to what foods you can eat as well as what foods you can not. If you follow the lists, you will lose weight. If you exercise, you will lose even more. Phase One is rough as your allowable foods are limited. Phase Two allows you to bring in fruits and some complex carbs. Phase Three is the maintenance phase, and this phase allows you to truly begin to live your new life with an understanding on how different foods relate to each other.

I would recommend this to anyone looking to lose just a few pounds or many pounds. If you have the motivation to lose weight and...
...
