WOW ! When I first tried this product a few years ago, I was a whits end with a chafing problem that I experienced during the hot weather. I am almost 60 now and over weight, so I did get the nasty chafing between my legs where on occasion the thighs rubbed.

I heard a commercial on tv that made me want to give it a try.

Boy was I impressed, as soon as I applied it, I felt relief and in a matter of days the problem was cleared up. FAST RELIEF and lasting results. What more could you want in a product. I was surprised to hear of the other uses, but do know that it works as well for a man as a woman who has chafing problems.

I have told lots of my friends about this product and can whole heartedly reccomend it to everyone.

I am so pleased that this is on the market for the general public and that you do not have to see a specialest to get it.
...

stefany200927 says "The fastest treatment for poison ivy!" about Swan Calamine Lotion

I love this. It worked really well on my children. My children caught poison ivy and I bought this, it didn't cost very much it was very inexpensive and i was surprised at how fast and how well it worked. Within an hour they weren't itching as bad and in a week and a half my kids were clearing up reallly really well, the poison ivy was really clearing up really fast. I couldn't believe how fast that this stuff really worked. It dries almost immediatley when put on the skin. It doesn't have a really bad strong smell like other medicines for poison ivy do. My kids weren't scratching all day long. Just apply it twice a day and don't let them wash it off and it really does it's job. It done better for my children than having to take them to the doctor and getting those painful shots for poison ivy. It is painless, it immeadialty soothes and cools their skin. And heals it faster than those painful shots and no crying because they have to go to the doctor and get a shot. It is a lot cheaper...
...

ML2007 says "Benadryl Itch Relief Stick really relieves the itch" about Benadryl Benadryl Itch Relief Stick

The first time I tried Benadryl Itch Relief Stick, I knew I needed a medicine to relieve the itch from one of the biggest mosquito bites I've ever had. I returned from a nice week long vacation in Mexico with the worst itching imaginable because of this nasty bug and because I could not resist scratching, my skin was swollen and red. I went to Target and looked for some kind of over the counter cream or ointment to relieve this nasty itch and found a lot of products that promise the same thing: relieving the itch. I thought that the Benadryl stick was the best product for the price and because it's so convenient to carry and easy to use as well. Because the bite mark was so big, it did take a few days to go away, but at least I had relieved the itching. Now whenever I have a nasty itch from mosquitoes, I grab the sick and rub it over the itch and within a few seconds, the itch is basically gone.
...

I love being outside and doing work in the yard. We have a couple spots along our fence row that has poison ivy so it never fails, several times during the summer I break out in an itchy rash from being in contact with it. I got the itch relief stick to carry in my purse to use on the go. I figured since the other benadryl products worked so well the stick would too but it doesn't. When you can get the liquid to come out of the stick it works good but I have problems with getting it to work all of the time. I will continue to try using the stick I have (when it works) but I won't purchase it again.
...

The Swan calamine lotion brand has been a fixture in our medicine cabinet now for years as it has been a lifesaver when someone in the family happens to come across a nasty case of poison ivy. The lotion definitely is a lifesaver and soothes itchy skin and helps scabs heal over quickly so that infection will not set in. The product is also very helpful when you have multiple bug bites all over your legs. I would recommend to quickly apply the product as soon as the problem begins so that healing time is minimized. The lotion itself sometimes leaves residue around the area if it is not fully rubbed in, but sometimes I think it has a more soothing effect if you just let it soak in gradually. This lotion is generally found in most stores I have found in the medical lotion section. It is about the same price as similar lotions, but I have just found this product to be a trusted brand over the years, and we will stick with it.
...

Wow, this stuff has been around forever and still tops the list of effective home treatments for poison ivy, oak, and sumac, as well as a thousand and one other small injuries or conditions kids and parents encounter through camping, gardening, or even just a hike.

With allergic reactions so widespread, keeping a bottle of calamine lotion is always a great idea, but some stores charge around $5 for a bottle. Swan is just as good and costs a fraction of that no matter where you find it. I am glad companies like Swan still offer a reasonable price for their very excellent products. They have a whole line and can usually be found at dollar stores or other discount stores.

There is virtually no difference between Swan calamine lotion and the higher priced brand I bought at a local drugstore, but the price was much higher. The only difference I could find was the scent, which is very mild anyway.
...

The Eczema symptoms are read and blotchy skin. If you have eczema, it's likely that you will want to scratch yourself in that affected parts which is the affected parts due to the intense itch. There is no cure for eczema, but you can stop the itch by puting Hydrocortisone cream on that area. If it don't stop than you will have to called your Doctor. Eczema is not contagious or infeaction from bacteria. what can worsen eczema is the possiblitity of getting a secondary infection from bacteria. Dry skin can cause eczema sympton to become worse and increased permeability of the skin means that it's easy for it to be invaded by a viral or bacteria infection. Itching and scraching yourself also increased the chances of you getting a bacteria infection.

Sudocrem is like the magic cream that you put on everything. I'm always finding something new that it works on better than anything else. I have been using it for some time to help heal acne breakouts or other irritated red spots. It also works well on small cuts and burns. But recently I discovered a new use for this stuff. My family recently went on a trip to the coast to do some flounder fishing. We happened to go during one of the worst mosquito breakouts the area has ever seen. Long story short- my fiance got over a 175 mosquito bites and each one swelled up rather badly (the smallest about dime size, the largest over half dollar size). We tried everything and nothing seemed to work. Then we tried sudocrem. It didn't stop the itching right away, but the next day the bites that we put the sudocrem on where much better than the bites that we did not put it on. It helped the bites heal faster and also helped keep them from getting infected (a serious risk with this many bites). I've never...
...

j9j says "Works well for smaller numbers of bites, but not enough for tons" about Benadryl Extra Strength Itch Stopping Cream

Benadryl Extra Strenght Itch Stopping Cream works better than any other topical itch cream I have found. I live in an area that gets lots of mosquitoes, so getting a few bites a week is pretty normal. I keep a tube of Benadryl Extra Strenght cream in my purse, one by my bed, and one in the kitchen drawer. It does a great job of stopping the itch for mosquitoe bites, ant bites, and cat scratches/reactions (I'm allergic to cats, and if I have a cut on my hand and I get near a cat it will start to swell up). This does great to stop that reaction.

However, it does have its limitations. Recently my fiance got over 175 bites on a fishing trip (we were having one of the worst mosquitoe outbreaks the area has ever seen- and he atracts mosquitoes like crazy). This cream did not cut it for that type of reaction. So it does wonders, but don't expect miracles.

But all in all, I highly recommend this cream for every day reactions (a few bites, a slight itch, etc.)

This is my first review by proxy. Let me explain.

I will never forget the first time I saw a monkey in heat..in fact, I remember that moment as though it was yesterday. That is significant because I don't remember too much from that period of my life.

I was at the zoo and thought something was horribly wrong with one of the monkeys because it had a large, swollen, red bottom. In my mind red and swollen spelled PAIN. After pointing out the affected monkey to one of the zookeepers I was told that it was normal and not to worry. In time I learned that it was all part of the monkey reproductive cycle. No matter, it still looked painful!

Fast forward to today:

My oldest son lives in Florida where it is hot and humid. Hot and humid spells sweat. Hot, humid and friction of two skin surfaces spells irritation; if those two skin surfaces are around the buttocks area then hot, humid and friction spells human monkey butt! Sound painful? I hurt just thinking about it.

The Swan calamine lotion is an inexpensive, affordable way to treat your itchy problems. My son is allergic to mosquito bites, bugs bites and just about every other bug out there that butes. He becomes very irritated, red and itchy. We always reach for the swan calamine lotion (he always asks for the pink itch stuff) and within minutes of applying, he is itch free. This is probably one of the easiest ways to alleviate itchy skin from bug bites, to poison ivy to even an itchy rash, This is an affordable, lasting lotion that has been around for many, many years. There isn't much of an odor and it is not at all painful when applying. So if your child is afraid that it is going to burn when you put it on, assure them that this brand does not, and will not hurt them! It is a thick, creamy lotion that soothes, the skin and gives lasting relief from itchy skin. This calamine lotion is fantastic!
...

I recently got all scratched up on my arms when trimming shrubs and bushes around my house. It looked like I was in a knife fight! I vaguely remembered using a thick, pink lotion on my itchy cuts and scratches when I was a kid and then found my old remedy - Caladryl.

What is Caladryl good for? Some of the following:

Insect bites

Minor cuts and scratches

Minor itchy skin conditions

Minor skin irritations

Rashes from poison ivy, poison oak, and sumac

I bought the original formula Caladryl (which I remembered from childhood) which is colored pink and has a soothing texture. I washed my arms and applied the lotion liberally. At first the scratches and tiny cuts were soothed only a little bit, but repeated applications eventually healed the cuts and irritations on my arms.

Caladryl contains calamine, which is composed of zinc oxide and iron oxide. While this does not sound like a good thing to rub on your skin, it will provide some healing to minor skin irritations and mild...
...

debbiehs says "Ease the pain with Absorbine Jr" about Absorbine Jr.

As a younger arthritis sufferer, I have used many types of creams, pills, lotions etc to obtain some pain relief and at least try to perform normally. I have found that Absorbine Jr Original fast absorbing pain relieving liquid works great for me. Having also suffered from Tarsal Coalition ( bones in foot grow together ) and having surgery to grind bones, I have deep bone pain. The prescription pain medicine for either of these conditions make it hard for me to be productive. I am also wary of the side effects of prescription meds. I especially like the sponge top applicator. No more do I have to rub stinky creams on my aching bones and then scrub and scrub my hands to get the smell off. The applicator makes it simple to apply where it needs to go and my hands stay clean. It is also much easier to get someone to apply it for you if they don't have to get their hands dirty. Since my surgery, the arthritis has grown alot and with that comes more and deeper pain. High humidity or rain showers...
...

sanfran8877 says "Works great and isn't too expensive at all" about Equate Extra Strength Anti Itch Cream

I bought this anti-itch cream on a whim at Wal-Mart. I suffer from some kind of weird heat rash on both of my arm whenever I am in the sun too long. I usually have to get a prescription cortisone to keep the hives from flaring up too much and because I scratch at them constantly resulting in bleedng or huge bumps. I noticed that this stuff, although not totally perfect, often soothes my itching within a few minutes of application. It comes in a convenient little tube and the cream spreads in easily and really helps me to forget that my arm is broken out in hives.

I like to re apply some of the product every thirty minutes and have found that layering it on without rubbing it all the way in really helps. I have used this on a bug bite I got during a camping trip and it immediately worked.

What's great about this brand is most of their stuff works right away and just as good as their competitors. I am really glad I tried this stuff before buying a more expensive brand.
...

GrandmawsOpinion says "Lazy, Hazy, Itchy Days of Summer!" about Benadryl Extra Strength Itch Stopping Cream

Summer is a time of fun, sun, picnics and things that make you itch! My summer ritual has always been a pilgrimage to a well known pharmacy for my 4 month supply of sun-screen product, insect repellent, seasonal shoes, beach paraphernalia, etc. But what I always forget is something to relieve bug bites!

My neighbour suggested Benadryl Extra Strength Itch Stopping Cream. It's a histamine blocking itch relief made by a brand I trust. I do a lot of outdoor work and I love to hike. Benadryl Extra Strength Itch Stopping Cream comes in an easy to carry and use tube that fits snug in your shirt or jeans pocket. Last week while weeding our vegetable gardens I was bitten by a spider, ouch! I went to my doctor and it was determined to be poisonous, but not venomous - however, it was painful and itched like 100 mosquito bites! He also suggested the over the counter brand Benadryl Extra Strength Itch Stopping Cream.

Within minutes of the first application it soothed...
...
