kid-kansas says "A soothing ointment that tingles and smells good too!" about Scherer Labs Chiggerex Plus 1.75oz.

I got a few chigger bites while on vacation in Indiana and the first stuff I bought was Equate anti itch cream. It worked well but it was missing something, perhaps just in my mind but regardless I looked for another solution to my itching. I am a magnet for chiggers and mosquitoes but they always seem to find me before I remember to use a repellent. — — Chiggerex Plus — — This cream is very easy to spread but yet stays where you put it and for chigger and mosquito bites that is a must. Another great addition to this cream is the great scent and tingle it gives after you apply it on your bites. The soothing comes from none other than 5% Benzocaine and as any medication ending in 'caine (novacaine, cocaine....lol just kidding) it has a numbing effect and eases that itch real fast. it is also very creamy and feels good on the skin, this comes from Aloe Vera and Chamomile. — — The scent is a minty one that is also soothing and not overpowering to...

kid-kansas says "Scratchin' like a dog with fleas is not a pretty sight!!" about Equate Extra Strength Anti Itch Cream

After such a wet spring in the Midwest this year I should have known the mosquito population would be booming in Indiana. After camping out for 4 days I was pretty much itching from head to toe, even using mosquito spray! Since we camped not 100 yards from the river I should have had a better repellent than what I did and now I am paying for it. A trip to Walmart gave me back a little sanity and stopped the itching to a point I could tolerate. — — Equate Extra Strength Anti-Itch Cream — — Equate's Extra Strength Anti Itch Cream is comparable to the Extra Strength Benedryl Cream but at 1/2 the price. SO I grabbed me a tube and never waited to get out of the store, nope I headed for the restroom to put some on right away! — — This cream goes on easy and has a slight cooling effect as you apply it and within minutes my itch went from a roar to a whisper and I couldn't have been happier either. I don't get small bumps when I get bit I get quarter...

There is nothing like a long ride with the wind at your face to ease the daily stress we all experience. With it also comes sweating as you sit on a leather seat for those long rides and then comes the heat rash on your tush! Well my son in law introduced me to a very nice solution for that rash. — — Anti Monkey Butt Powder — — The ideal time to apply is before you get the rash but it also helps sooth you after the fact as well. There are just 3 ingredients in this great product and they are Talc, Calamine powder and Fragrance. To me it smells just like a Talc Powder and it is a very mild scent. As you apply it you can feel the silky smoothness it leaves on your skin and it has a slight cooling affect as well. — — After riding 650 miles from here to my daughters in Indiana I was pretty sore and very red. Putting Anti Monkey Butt on made me feel lots better and for the duration of my visit I used it daily to cure what was already there and help...

bkovacs says "Works great but use it sparingly" about Walgreens Maximum Strength Cream 1% hydrocortisone

Las Vegas... what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. I was in Las Vegas and had itchy patches of eczema on my arms that I definitely wanted to stay in Vegas. In fact, the eczema was flaring up and I was too busy working to want to have to deal with this particular distraction. There was a Walgreens store near the hotel, so I checked out the anti-itch creams that claimed to handle eczema and found they all contained hydrocortisone as the active ingredient. I bought Walgreens Maximum Strength 1% Hydrocortisone Cream for about $4.50. — — As I said, the active ingredient is hydrocortisone, which is a cortical steroid. Not to be confused with anabolic steroids such as testosterone, cortical steroids strongly promote healing... at a price. Although eczema and itchy patches can heal quickly when using a hydrocortisone cream, using it too much can suppress your immune system. This happened to me earlier this year, when I used a prescription cortical steroid on the same eczema...

AutumnDM says "Sensationally COOL, Refreshing" about Gold Bond Medicated Powder

Gold Bond Medicated Powder works wonders! I have sensitive skin and frequently get heat rashes in the summertime. These rashes can be horrible and will oftentimes itch so badly that I am inclined to scratch! Scratching is not good, because it only aggravates skin which is already inflamed and adds to the problem. Gold Bond Medicated Powder feels rather "tingly" and "cool" when applied to your skin. It does a great job at relieving the itch from a rash and helps to promote healing. Although I have used it many times on heat rash, I don't know how well it would work on something like poison ivy. The only downfall to this product that I can think of ;it is messy when applied. But then, aren't all powders messy? I'll take the mess; IT...

Lessia says "Swan Calamine Lotion rocks!!!" about Swan Calamine Lotion

Several years ago, I've also been covered with Poison Ivy blisters. And not just one part of my body... what wouldn't be that bad in comparison... but my whole body. It happened, because I've been so eager to clean out our old barn in the country, that hasn't been touched for decades and had different types of weeds all over the place. I didn't know, that it was the Poison Ivy ( pure ignorance on my part, that's for sure). I didn't want to go to the doctor, because for that reason we would have to return home, to Dallas, and it would interrupt all our plans. Therefore, we had to grasp for any cure, we could come up with, because my condition was getting worse by the minute. Luckily, the neighbors had Swan Calomine Lotion in their home pharmacy box, could you imagine! I've been saved royally! From the very moment, I've started to apply it on my whole body, the relief was almost immediate. Thank you, Swan Calomine Lotion! You're the best!!! —...

After having moved and obtaining my summer "break out," I could not find the generic-name brand product I normally use. I ended up purchasing this product instead, and was quite disappointed. It took longer to heal the wound (I use the same dosage), and did little to stop the itching. I payed more in price, expected more in results, but got little in return. What worse is that it was less than I was getting with a generic brand. — I believe that the makers of this product need to look at a base (cream) that is a little more friendly to the skin in absorption. While some people use oil-based products, other buy creams. I have tried both, in this case. I do NOT recommend this product to someone else, nor do I plan to use it again. This is one example where you do not get what you pay for. —...

To the PointI went to the doctor for a routine check up and showed him my ring finger. My wedding band was off because the area was red, itchy and scaly. My doctor told me it was dermatitis and to get 1% Hydrocortisone. — He also gave me a tip which I haven't found super effective but if your fingers don't swell as much as mine then you might have a chance. The tip: put a coat or two or three of clear nail polish on the underside of your ring. — A Closer View — I decided on Cortaid Maximum Strength Cream for no particular reason except that the active ingredient is 1% hydrocortisone whose purpose is to stop itching. The inactive ingredients are aloe Vera gel, benzyl alcohol, ceteareth 20, cetearyl alcohol, glycerin, isopropyl myristate, isostearyl neopentanoate, methylparaben, mixed fatty acid esters, polyoxyl 40 stearate, and purified water. I paid about $4.00 for a ½-ounce tube. — I can't figure out why they would put alcohol in a product to counter...

I found this product out of sheer desperation after contracting a case of poison ivy that I couldn't shake for months-- getting worse week after week. I tried all drug store remedies, cortisone shot from the doctor, tea tree oil (definitely helped). I remembered that I had heard that all naturally toxic substances in nature have a natural antidote, so I decided to do a little net research and found out that Jewel Weed was used by native Americans as a protection against poison plants and a remedy for poison plant rashes. So, I found a wonderful source-- a nurse who lives in the Tennessee woods and found how to make Jewel Weed into a useable remedy to sell. She is awesome, has fair prices, and ships instantly. Everything she claims is true. Try it!!! Visit: altnature.com (I swear I'm just a user, not in any way benefitting from writing this...
