kid-kansas says "Safer is not always better!!" about Cutter Advanced with Picarridin -- Fragrance Free

Many of you have probably read some of my vacation reviews and know I was walking mosquito and chigger bait. I forgot to bring my usual repellent with me so I stopped and bought some before I went camping. I found a new bottle that contains Picaridin instead of DEET so I thought I would give it a try. My daughter being pregnant is not allowed to use any DEET products so I figured we could share a bottle of this new Cutter Advanced with Picaridin.

Cutter Advanced with Picaridin

The bottle is 6oz and is a non aerosol spray that is very easy to apply and best of all there is no harsh smell to irritate your nose. We were camped about 100 yards from the river so protection was a must unless we wanted to get eaten alive. My daughter and I covered ourselves real good and figured we would be safe.

No such luck for me as the first day I had a bunch of skeeter bites even after using this new safer repellent. My daughter had only one or two bites and they were at the nape of her neck but we both still......

lilaichee says "Attracted the bugs." about Off Insect Repellent Smooth and Dry

I got this because it got good reviews here, but it seemed to actually attract mosquitos. Maybe it was because we happened to be in an area where the ratio of mosquitos to humans seemed 100:1, but a good repellent should repel mosquitos anywhere, any amount. I'll keep trying other sprays, until I find one mosquitos can't stand, period. Also, a small bottle is $5. Not worth it....

AngiBowman says "Keep bugs away naturally! " about California Baby Natural Bug Blend

A few weeks ago, my family attended a church picnic. Naturally we put on a nice, low-DEET formula of OFF on nearly everyone. I'm allergic to DEET, so I've just learned to deal with bugs. However, our nearly 3-year old son started to vomit and we knew we were in trouble. I

n the era of West Nile, I was terrified. How do we protect our children from bugs without having to resort to OFF or the like? Avon was an option, but I have had poor experiences with the greasy Skin-So-Soft.

Doing a quick search on the internet, we found California Baby. All natural products? Also available in our local stores? AMAZING!

Pros:

1) All-Natural: When you use it, you can smell exactly what is in it. There's nothing chemically made in it! It's made with just Citronella, lemongrass and cedar essential oils.

2) It really works: I'm not kidding. Since using California Baby Bug Spray, we're had NO problem at all with bugs. Okay, we have a bug problem in our area but not on us. I've even found it to work with flies....
...

Off Smooth and Dry is great, especially when you have little ones that, once you spray them, they want to play in it. As soon as you spray it on, it is nice and dry. The only thing I dislike about it is that it doesn't seem to last very long and it tends to be a bit on the expensive side but other than that, it is a must-have, especially for families with small children....

I love in the woods and Off is FANTASTIC....my son is Autistic and can not handle anything like mosquito spray...the new soft and silky spray is perfect for him and I don't need to run down the street chasing him to apply! He loves the fact that it is not sticky, goes on dry and isn't ''stinky''! Also with Limes disease becoming so common it is nice to have!...

We purchased this product prior to our vacation last summer to the Upper Peninsula in Michigan where misquitos are rampant. I was amazed by how you barley even realized that you had this product on after you applied it. It has a nice refreshing scent and your skin is not sticky or slimey at all. And it really did keep the misquitos away. I will definitely be buying this product again for this years vacation....

I have always been allergic to bug bites, and have tried everything from garlic pills, to potassium in my diet to try to get the damn little bugs to not be so fond of my blood, but to no avail. For some reason bugs just love to nibble on me, in the hundreds. I am always that one person at the party with over 20 bug bites and everyone else is fine and don't know what I am complaining about. So I've gotten used to over the years using every bug spray I could get my hands on. I personally prefer something with 100% DEET and am not allergic (obviously). However, I always hated the scent of the sprays and the greasy oily feelings that always accompained using them. During last summer I saw the advertisements and finally decided to try it, plus my regular Deep Woods Off was out. Well after just one use I was amazed with its effect. It worked amazingly and I didn't feel like I was wearing grease all over my skin, shinny and slippery and oily. It was smooth and dry, and had......

kid-kansas says "What I use to keep those blood suckers at bay!" about Backwoods Cutter Mosquito Repellent - Unscented 6oz.

Living in the country is great we have birds, rabbits, squirrels and unfortunately Mosquito's! They just love to breed in standing water and wait for you under leaves and tall grass. That makes where I live a perfect place for them to thrive, but I found a way to keep them away.

Backwoods Cutter Mosquito Repellent

This works very well when applied before going out in the yard. It is unscented and is also water resistant. So when you start sweating it stays where t is and keeps on working. We always use this when we are out in the yard especially close to dawn or dusk as the mosquitoes are very active then.

I also spray my hat and shoes with it too give me an extra edge against getting bit by mosquitoes. It is not however 100% and the real determined ones will land on you anyway. I just swat them and go about my business. It works well if you are in the middle of the yard but when you get around the trees on the west side of our yard is when they will still come after you. More of a defense......

Great product! Some thing that really does what it is marketed to do! I love to garden and am outside from spring until later fall gardening.. anything the bites, will bite me! This item is nice as it goes on easy and not greasy or sticky at all... the only problem for me, it does not last very long and I can go through up to 2 cans of this in one day. That gets a little pricey. In the state of Washington, it is selling for $4.99 a can!...

I was absolutely shocked when I tried out this product. How could something that doesn't smell or leave a greasy residue really work? I can't answer that, but it does. The mosquitos stayed off all night at the campfire, and I slept in the bug spray without feeling sticky and smelling foul. The kids smelled good too!...

Bryan-Carey says "Off Smooth and Dry: Easy Application and it Works Well" about Off Insect Repellent Smooth and Dry

Depending on where you live, mosquitoes and other biting insects make themselves known for at least a few months every year. They thrive in warm weather and that means an extended length of in- season insect problems for those who live in warmer latitudes. I now live in one of these warmer locations and a product that has become one of my new summer friends is Off! Smooth & Dry Insect Repellant, a product made by S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc.

Bug Spray Commentary:

Off! Smooth & Dry is an aerosol product that is dry and non- greasy and a small amount is all it takes to coat the skin and protect against biting insects. The scent is a little chemical- like, but not as bad as others and certainly tolerable. It is one of multiple versions of the famous insect repellant. Off! products have been around for a long time and I have used every one of the different variations over the years. Among all consumer good products, Off! is one of a select few that I know I can count on to perform its function...
...

The mosquitoes at Boy Scout camp ate me up. We were headed to the mountains last week, so I knew I better buy something to ward off mosquitoes. Otherwise I was going to be spotted from head to toe.

I saw a commercial on TV for a new product by OFF - insect repellent. They said that Smooth & Dry was not sticky like the other mosquito sprays. That sounded good, so I decided I'd look for Smooth & Dry.

Normally I get Deep Woods Off. I started using that when I lived next to the Dismal Swamp. Seriously, that is a real place on the map, and I lived next to it. The mosquitoes were awful, and Deep Woods Off was the only product that really worked back then.

I crossed my fingers that the new Off product would be as good as Deep Woods, and it was. When I sprayed I did not get any mosquito bites. I had the old ones from camp - but no new ones to add to the collection.

Smooth and Dry Off really does go on without feeling sticky. It's damp and then dries quickly. I didn't even notice it once it dried -...
...
