CyndiA says "CVS Q-tips are like trying to put your elbow in your ear. " about CVS cotton swabs

I like our CVS pharmacy, so I thought I'd try their brand on cotton swabs which are bascially Q-tips with no brand name and used to clean ears and for other odd jobs.

I really should have known better. I tried the CVS brand on a toothbrush, and it was so bad that I only used it once and threw it away. So much for any savings there huh?

The CVS cotton swabs look just like any other normal cotton swab ear cleaners. Well duh. Just how much can you pretty those things up.

The problem with CVS cotton swabs is that the center part - the stick - it bends. You use CVS cotton swabs, and it is like trying to stick your elbow in your ear to clean it. Bend. Stretch. Wobble. I about hurt myself just trying to get the darn thing lined up.

To add some insult to that close injury, the cotton is wrapped loose. No thank you. I do not want to chance having a blob of cotton stuck inside my ear and a trip to ER for removal. Get a better cotton wrap machine or glue or whatever it takes to keep the cotton blob...
...

MJMOMOF4 says "Work the same as a name brand!" about Dollar General Cotton Swabs

The Dollar General brand of Cotton Swabs work just as well as a name brand item. In these times findong a quality product that is inexpensive and still works good is important. I shop at Dollar General but not regularly. I purchased these for the first time because buying 300 cotton swabs for $1.00 is a real bargain. I was very happy with how well they worked. They are soft as it is advertised on the boc and they are double tipped which is great. Makes for less use and waste of them.

They are also 100% satisfaction guaranteed and the phone number for comments and questions is also listed on the box. This lets me know it is ok to try it because they will stand behind them if I am not happy with them!!
...

Katrena says "I finally found Swisspers Cotton Swabs--cotton doesn't fall off!" about Swisspers Multi Care Double Tipped Cotton Swabs

I was not happy with the Equate or Dollar General cotton swabs because the cotton tended to fall off the sticks. I picked up Swisspers multi care double tipped cotton swabsat Wal-Mart. They are packaged in boxes of 500 and cost less than $5.00. The box I chose had purple stems. They come in a variety of colors: purple, yellow, green, and pink.

I don't really care what cotton swabs look like. I like for them to clean without having the cotton to fall off the stem. These work! Yea!

The box lists several uses for these cotton swabs, from make-up application/removal to cleaning electronics and cars to arts and crafts projects. The box opens and re-closes fairly easily.

My Viewpoint:

Swisspers cotton swabswork well and come in fun colors. The plastic stems are a little less eco-friendly than the paper-based stems. I'll buy these again because they work, are packaged in large quantities, and seem to be fairly priced.
...

Katrena says "Dollar General Missed the Mark on These Cotton Swabs" about Dollar General Cotton Swabs

I guess I'll have to check out this 100% satisfaction guaranteed or your money back claim on these Dollar General Double Tipped Cotton Swabs. I know they cost less than $2.00, but I hate to waste my money. It is almost like the same company made these cotton swabs and the Equate ones I tried.

These cotton swabs come in a package of 300. The package is fairly easy to open and reclose; however, the product inside is not worth the money I paid. The cotton comes off any time I use them. Depending on what I'm cleaning, that could even be unsafe.

My Viewpoint:

I won't be buying Dollar General's double-tipped cotton swabs again unless they improve their product.
...

Johnson & Johnson cotton balls are soft and fluffy! Unlike many other cotton balls they are very absorbent! I love painting mine and my daughters finger and toe nails, most cotton ball brands require that you use multiple balls to remove nail polish, with Johnson & Johnson you use less and the results are much better! Johnson & Johnson cotton balls are made well in that they don't break apart and they can stand up to much more wear and tear than the competing brands....

These cotton balls can be used for many things...cleaning wounds, removing make-up, applying lotions, etc... They are very soft and fluffy, absorbant, and have a good texture. I love this product and use it at least once a week. Try them for yourself, I am sure you will like them too....

Jo says "Your Baby's Bottom Deserves Organic." about Organic Essentials Cotton Balls

We always have cotton balls in our house. I try to buy organic products as much as I can. When I saw Organic Essentials Cotton Balls in my local grocery store I bought them. At about $2.50 for 80 balls they are significantly more expensive than conventional cotton balls. You can buy 200 by Johnson & Johnson for that price. Organic products are much more expensive than conventional so I’m used to the price differences.

Organic Essentials begin in 1996. This is a farmer owned company. Organic Essentials uses virgin staple fiber which the company claims is higher quality fiber. This fiber they say on the bag makes the cotton balls softer. They don’t fall apart, are soft and more absorbent.

These come in a reclosable, recyclable bag.

They are Certified Organic by Quality Certification Services.

"Organic cotton is different than conventional cotton because the farming methods replenish the soil, protect the purity of air, water and food supplies, and preserve precious resources."...
...
