LisaCarey says "Heating Pad that Got Me Hot and Bothered " about Beyond BodiHeat Heat Pad

Beyond BodiHeat Heat Pad is a disposable heating pad square with an adhesive backing and claims to provide 12 hours of pain relief, "sooths and comforts sore, aching muscles, and provides relief from back and joint pain." I recently decided to clean out closets, move furniture and get the upstairs organized, hanging pictures, storing, sorting and giving to charity (call it summer time spring cleaning). — That night after a soak in the tub I decided to make sure I didn't wake up the nex morning with sore muscles and joints or aching back pain. I took my Motrin and then applied my Beyond BodiHeat heating pad. — The Bodiheat heating pad is a disposable pad, 3.75"x 5.125". The ingredients are iron powder, water, activated carbon, vermiculite, salt, super absorbent polymer, purge, and natural mineral powder. — To use the Beyond BodiHeat Pad you simply peel the adhesive backing and "stick" the pad to your clothing. The pad will heat up within 20 minutes often the...

ViewFromParadise says "MOIST HEAT PAD Battle Creek better than Prescription Pain Meds" about Battle Creek Thermophore Heat Pak

Hello to everyone that may have any type of Muscle, Joint or Bone pain. — I can tell you without any doubt this is the best and most durable heat pack you — will ever see on the market. — I had polio during the 1954 epidemic and continue to have muscle spasms and joint pain even more so now that I have Arthritis. — MOIST HEAT is the best type of heating packs and Battle Creek is the only pad I know of that delivers instant moist heat without the danger of the little water tank or using wet towels. — During a Hospital stay at President Roosevelt's "Little White House" in Warm Springs, — Georgia a nurse told me the story of Roosevelt's Private Nurse using moist heat, — having to use steaming hot wet towels to give the President Pain relief without — drugs.. Other than warm water therapy pools it was the only pain relief for the president. Physical Therapist use them too. — As for me I tried all sorts of physician...

I unexpectedly threw my back out this past weekend (well, really, who expects to throw out their back). I was able to ice it immediately using those hard rectangular plastic ice packs designed to keep your child's lunch cold. Not exactly to most comfortable thing, but still it was effective. — After two days of icing I knew I had to move on to heat therapy but could not find my ol' heating pad. I was thrilled to find this product at my local drug store - it's reusable, heated up in 30 seconds in my microwave, and was comfortable to lay against with it's soft gel center and Ace bandange-fabric pouch. I am going to buy another one to keep in my freezer so I don't have to sleep on an ice brick again. —...

monkeylove817 says "conveniant and reusable!" about theramics thermipaq

I recently had my wisdom teeth removed and was instructed after the surgery to apply an ice pack for the first 24 hours and then swich to heat. This pack did both jobs. I simply kept in in the freezer to keep it cold and stick in the microwave to warm it up. It only took 1 min in the microwave to warm it up and it holds the heat for a long time. It also has a very nifty elastic band. As funny as it sounds I was able to strap it in place so I was still able to use my hands to take care of my kids. This product was wonderful in helping me...

PattyTherre says "Strap this baby on & release your tension. In your eyes, that is." about Comfort Bags Comfort Eye Pillow

Quick View: I have sinus and stress headaches constantly. I don't like to take a lot of medication so I look for alternatives. I found a great alternative in the Comfort Bags Comfort Eye Pillow. This hand made, natural buckwheat filled eye pillow can be frozen or warmed in the microwave and has an elastic strap to hold the pillow over the eye area. The relief is divine. — — About Comfort Bags Comfort Eye Pillow — — These pillows are buckwheat filled and you can choose to have natural aromatherapy added such as lavender, peppermint, or cinnamon. They are made in a wide variety of patterns and in either cotton or satin. These bags have a cut out for the nose area and are large enough to cover the eyes and forehead and wrap slightly around the face, blocking out the light. I ordered an eye pillow and couple of larger bags for my neck and body and love them. The eye pillow that I chose was (surprise!) purple satin with stars and moons on it and it fits...

mmears says "throw the other heating pads away" about Battle Creek Thermophore Heat Pak

In the 25 years I've run my physical therapy business, I've been approached by by numerous sales people to hawk various vitamins, supplements, gadgets, ointments. Testing them all, I found nothing but hype and virtually no bang for the buck. There is one product, though, that everyone with aches and pains should have in their home... A thermophore, made by Battle Creek Equipment Co. What makes it different from the 'drugstore' variety heating pads? Plenty. First, it creates its own moisture, so there's no messy pads to insert. Just plug it in, and in minutes, you'll get the deepest heat you've ever experienced via a hot pak. Why is moist heat preferable to dry heat? Moisture conducts heat 10X more efficiently than air. These thermophores are larger, heavier, and many times more effective than what you'd throw $25 away on. They are far more effective than the hydrocollator paks commonly used in PT office. Yes, they are more expensive, around $65 for the large size...
