ML2007 says "Benadryl Itch Relief Stick really relieves the itch" about Benadryl Benadryl Itch Relief Stick

The first time I tried Benadryl Itch Relief Stick, I knew I needed a medicine to relieve the itch from one of the biggest mosquito bites I've ever had. I returned from a nice week long vacation in Mexico with the worst itching imaginable because of this nasty bug and because I could not resist scratching, my skin was swollen and red. I went to Target and looked for some kind of over the counter cream or ointment to relieve this nasty itch and found a lot of products that promise the same thing: relieving the itch. I thought that the Benadryl stick was the best product for the price and because it's so convenient to carry and easy to use as well. Because the bite mark was so big, it did take a few days to go away, but at least I had relieved the itching. Now whenever I have a nasty itch from mosquitoes, I grab the sick and rub it over the itch and within a few seconds, the itch is basically gone.
...

I recently used Nexcare Waterproof Bandages to cover a small red patch on my arm. They really are waterproof and if that's your main concern, and you don't mind pain, then these are for you. When I removed a Nexcare Waterproof Bandage, the adhesive literally pulled the skin off my arm. It was very painful, but it's even more painful now, and I'm left with a scab and swollen lump where the bandage adhered to my skin. Further, even where the adhesive did not pull my skin off, my arm is red and raw where the bandage adhered to my skin. Unless you want to lose a layer of dermis, don't use these.
...

I am an artist with frequent neck and should problems from drawing and bending over my work for long hours and being at the computer . Beyond body heat has saved me from pain so many times I can even say - I ususaly keep a few pack for the sor shoulder that i get.

These packs get so hot that I would advise putting them on tee shirt not directly on the skin. They deliver intense heat over a period of hours and the pain is soothed away and you barley notice it going ... poof ! the muscles are relaxed and you feel great. I buy them as gifts for friends .

Icy Hot patches are just a new extension of what their products have been doing for years in helping to reduce symptoms of muscle cramping or tightness. The patches are ideal for longer relief and can be worn under clothes and directly adhere to the skin for long lasting pain relief. I have found they are most useful for large areas like the lower back because you are able to easily apply the patch instead of having to use a lot of the cream spreading over your back, which may or may not relieve the tension. These patches were recommended by a doctor and have offered a much reduced level of pain in my low back. They help to calm areas that become inflammed and help make sitting for long periods of time more managable. I have also used icy hot patches on the backs of my legs (calf area) from tightness that occurred after running. The product has left me extremely pleased with the pain relief it has offered me!
...

These new bandaids with the gel healing surface have become a lifesaver for me in helping to gently heal blisters that I always seem to acquire from new shoes! These bandaids seem to be much more resistant to water, sweat, or other disturbances that might cause them to fall off or come out of place in places where bandaids typically do not stay well, such as the back of the foot. The gel is placed in the middle of the bandaid, and I have really found that it does improve healing times, whether it be because of the medication in the gel or just because a covering is secure over the wound. I am a big advocate of quick healing for little scrapes because the rate of infections is high in open wounds, and getting it quickly healed can make all of the difference! The product is a little more expensive than regular bandaids, but these are great for any size wound as they come in multiple sizes, and are definitely going to be a healthier alternative that will keep bacteria and infection...
...

chiobiker2011 says "Takes the itch out of the rash!" about Swan Calamine Lotion

The Swan calamine lotion brand has been a fixture in our medicine cabinet now for years as it has been a lifesaver when someone in the family happens to come across a nasty case of poison ivy. The lotion definitely is a lifesaver and soothes itchy skin and helps scabs heal over quickly so that infection will not set in. The product is also very helpful when you have multiple bug bites all over your legs. I would recommend to quickly apply the product as soon as the problem begins so that healing time is minimized. The lotion itself sometimes leaves residue around the area if it is not fully rubbed in, but sometimes I think it has a more soothing effect if you just let it soak in gradually. This lotion is generally found in most stores I have found in the medical lotion section. It is about the same price as similar lotions, but I have just found this product to be a trusted brand over the years, and we will stick with it.
...

CyndiA says "CVS Q-tips are like trying to put your elbow in your ear. " about CVS cotton swabs

I like our CVS pharmacy, so I thought I'd try their brand on cotton swabs which are bascially Q-tips with no brand name and used to clean ears and for other odd jobs.

I really should have known better. I tried the CVS brand on a toothbrush, and it was so bad that I only used it once and threw it away. So much for any savings there huh?

The CVS cotton swabs look just like any other normal cotton swab ear cleaners. Well duh. Just how much can you pretty those things up.

The problem with CVS cotton swabs is that the center part - the stick - it bends. You use CVS cotton swabs, and it is like trying to stick your elbow in your ear to clean it. Bend. Stretch. Wobble. I about hurt myself just trying to get the darn thing lined up.

To add some insult to that close injury, the cotton is wrapped loose. No thank you. I do not want to chance having a blob of cotton stuck inside my ear and a trip to ER for removal. Get a better cotton wrap machine or glue or whatever it takes to keep the cotton blob...
...

Susie-34668 says "Dr. Scholl's For Her Ball of Foot Cushions scrunch up" about Dr. Scholl's For Her Ball of Foot Cushions

Dr. Scholl's For Her Ball of Foot Cushions got me excited because my right foot was giving me a lot of pain.

It states on the packaging the "immediate massaging gel comfort for the ball of your foot. Because feel the burn wasn't meant to describe the ball of your foot."

I immediately tried them in my slippers. I placed them as directed. When I slid my foot in, and the gel cushion scrunched up. I had to hold it down to get my foot in.

Next I put it in my shoes, and again it moved instead of staying in place.

When I finally had the gel cushion in the correct place, it did help to stop the burn on the ball of my foot, and also helped the pain in my toes.

I have been using these now for around a month, and still get frustrated when they don't stay in place, and roll up, when I put my foot in my shoe.

As Dr. Scholl's has a guarantee that if you are not completely satisfied with the product to mail back the receipt and the UPC code, I think I just might do this. After all I purchased...
...

Dr.Scholl's For Her Corn Cushions come in a pretty pink box. There are 6 corn cushions in the box. Remove the box from the outer packaging, and then lift at the front of the box to open.

The cushions are on backing paper, and come three to a sheet.

After washing your foot, lift up one of the paper tabs on the sheet, and the corn cushion will come off too. Apply it over the corn, press it down, and then just lift off the paper. The corn cushion is the same color as flesh so it hardly notices on your toes.

The nice thing is that it is completely smooth so you don't have a problem when wearing panty hose or knee highs. It stays in place and is waterproof.

It stays on my toe and won't move. It doesn't tell you how long to wear it, so I normally take it off after 3 days and apply a new one. The easiest way is for me to go swimming and then it pretty much rolls off of my toe, with a little effort on my part. I still swim the other days and don't touch it, and it stays put.

CLAIRE'S EAR CARE ANTISEPTIC was given when my eight year old daughter Aimee had her ears pierced in August. My daughter Stacy had her ears pierced at a different store in the same mall when she was three years younger than this daughter is now and every thing went wrong. The bottle I was given lasted a little over a week and I was told to use rubbing alcohol or peroxide.

Not so this time at Claire's. The form had over 12 places where I had to hear something and then sign my name or initials. This huge fuschia and white bottle is about 4 times the size of what I had over a decade ago with my first daughter. We use it three times a day and she is still wearing the same earrings over two months later. With fuschia on the bottle and it's size, it was easier to remember it. With my paranoia after my other daughter's repeated nasty swellings and infections, it was unlikely I would forget anyways but I do have five children. For anybody who wants to have their child's ears pierced...
...

I recently cut my hand on a pair of sharp scissors, which is an area in that normal bandages are hard to apply let alone stay put. I placed a few drops of the liquid bandages on both cuts, and I was pleased with how well it worked. It did sting a little, but not much. I have used liquid bandages in the past for finger cuts, however, did not appreciate the awkwardness of unwrapping the paper and using a stick. This product comes in a bottle with the wand to apply the liquid skin. You don't need to open a new paper to get the wand or squeeze out the product from a bottle onto a wand. There is also quite a bit of liquid skin in the bottle compared to the products in the past where you got a teeny, tiny bottle. I believe this product is well worth stocking in your medicine cabinet for those little wounds like paper cuts or small scratches, especially on those areas of the skin which cannot be covered with the traditional band aids.
...

I got a good size blister on my foot recently after doing a lot of walking. At first I just let it go - figuring it would heal on its own. However, it got worse! That's when I went out and bought Dr Scholl's Blister Treatment in an attempt to get the blister healed.

Dr Scholl's Blister Treatment contains sterile cushions (they call them cushions) which are like a very thin Band Aide. Each one is oval shaped, individually wrapped, and sterile. After washing the blistered area just place the bandage on and it will adhere quickly.

The first day I wore one of these blister bandages it didn't do much. However, I replaced the bandage each day with a fresh one and within 3-4 days the blister was greatly reduced and soon disappeared. Wow - it really worked.

The blister bandages are so thin I could not feel it once it was in place and I had my socks on. Also, it doesn't budge. Actually, the adhesive was a bit hard to wash off when I removed the bandage at nighttime.

Many scientists believe that DEET isn't really safe and a lot of people believe them. You can't use a product containing DEET on children and it can damage skin, clothing, plastic and paint, But if you live in or around woodsl, water or even just in the country side you need an effective insect repellent.

Cutter 3M Ultra provides you with all the protection you need without using DEET. It contains an alternative repellent, picardin. Picardin is as effective as a lower strength DEET product with none of the disadvantages.

This advanced protein protects you from the mosquitoes that annoy you so much but it also protects you from ticks. In my area in Me. tick releated diseases are hospitalizing and even killing people at an increasingly higher rate every yoer. You can save yourself from that by using Cutter 3M Ultrathron.

It isn't sticky or oily, it won't damage your clothing or skin.

Wow, this stuff has been around forever and still tops the list of effective home treatments for poison ivy, oak, and sumac, as well as a thousand and one other small injuries or conditions kids and parents encounter through camping, gardening, or even just a hike.

With allergic reactions so widespread, keeping a bottle of calamine lotion is always a great idea, but some stores charge around $5 for a bottle. Swan is just as good and costs a fraction of that no matter where you find it. I am glad companies like Swan still offer a reasonable price for their very excellent products. They have a whole line and can usually be found at dollar stores or other discount stores.

There is virtually no difference between Swan calamine lotion and the higher priced brand I bought at a local drugstore, but the price was much higher. The only difference I could find was the scent, which is very mild anyway.
...

jlowe308 says "Love this stuff, for the busty girl." about Monistat Soothing Care Powder-Gel

I love the Monistat Soothing Care Powder Gel.I am a big busted girl so I am forever getting chaffed under my boobs so I bought this stuff and decided to give it a try because a girlfriend of mine had tried it and after trying every powder under the sun nothing worked not even the most absorbant bra ever.Anyways I bought the monistat Soothing Powder Gel and I squirted some into my hand and I immediately felt the powdery feel with the gel look.So I put it under my boobs beofre going out to exercise and when I got back I was amazed at how well it blocked the swaet from my skin under my breast and now I sware by it.I also figured out that you can use it for your skin, such as your face to make it smoother in appearance and the good thing about it is it is never greasy and it works really well and I would recommend this to anyone. It is affordable and if you comapre to what you soend for gold bond and others it pays for itself.I stopped buying powders all together and now I just buy the Monistat...
...

PattyTherre says "Works well but be sure to choose the right size for your needs!" about Thermipaq Thermionics Advanced Therapeutic Hot & Cold Pad

Quick View: Everyone in the house has muscle and joint aches due to exercise or overwork. It's my husband's turn this time. His lower back is stiff and very sore. He bought a Thermipaq Thermionics Advanced Therapeutic Hot & Cold Pad the last time his back hurt and got it out again this time. This pack can be heated in the microwave or stored in the freezer. My husband uses this pack hot. It's effective and easy to use but the heat does tend to wear off quicker than I would like.

My Take on the Thermipaq Thermionics Advanced Therapeutic Hot & Cold Pad

The manufacturer describes this pack this way: "Each size includes a pliable ThermiPaq pad filled with all-natural, clay-based materials. This compound is non-toxic, biodegradable and environmentally safe. Also includes a soft, washable cloth cover and Velcro strap to secure pad to treatment area for better overall pain relief."

There are a few sizes. My husband bought s appears a medium sized one that is good for lower backs, knees, elbows...
...

dmdifalco says "Gold Bond More Like Gold Digger's" about Gold Bond Medicated Powder

I spurged and purchased Gold Bond because my feet were incredibly sore and I had heard that this was a great product. Of course, I got my hopes up because I was spending more money than I ever intended. I tried Gold Bond for a few weeks and couldn't tell if it was doing anything if at all. It was a true disappointment for me. I didn't like the smell at all either. I don't know what I expected would happen if I did use this product. I have thick, dry skin on my feet and thought it should have atleast softened it a little but no dice. I felt cheated. I don't know if the drugstore would take the bottle back or not but it feels good being able to relate my experience here. I am wondering if I expected too much. I thought it was a medication but I could have been wrong. Well, I know one person who won't be buying Gold Bond again. Was good to see that they did win over a few individuals who like their products here on Viewpoints.
...
