moodyb21223 says "Paxil works good for about the first 6 months" about Paxil

Paxil comes in different dosage amounts. I started on 20 mg and have since moved up to 40 mg. The good thing is that you can get it for $4.00 at Walmart if you are only on the 20 mg dosage. It worked really good at first. But by the sixth month, it looses its effectivness. I spoke to my doctor, and he increased the dosage. Now that I have been taking that dosage for about six months, I feel that it is not having the same positive results. Other than that, if you just anti depressants for a short time, Paxil would be great for you....

I read lots of reviews on other sites too about Wellbutrin and after my depression came back I decided to ask my doctor if I can try it.(Before I was on Zoloft and than Lexapro, but either they stopped to work or I put on so much weight and lost my sex drive, I stopped taking it.) I jump started Wellbutrin and just after 3 days I almost ended up in the ER. My blood pressure was very high, I had heart palpatations and I couldn't sleep up until 4 am. I was so scared that I didn't want to take any medication again.... — Then my depression hit me even harder and I started to think that maybe 150mg twice a day was too much for me and if I just could try the 75 mg that would work. Well it didn't, I couldn't sleep again and I felt very sick. — Currently I am trying Cymbalta, wish me luck... — ...

Effexor xr is in the class of meds called SSRI (selective seratonin reuptake inhibitors). It is used to produce a number of desired effects, however the first among them and the most prescribed is for sufferers of depression and anxiety. I have been using Effexor for 2 years now, and I must say it certainly has helped to improve my down and out rattled self after a lengthy divorce. Althoughit takes at least a month of daily oral consuption, the drug seems to slowly but surely work, aleviating me of dreadful panic attacks and feelings of worthlessness which I had experienced before taking it. You will not feel a sudden rush of peace like that which accompanies xanax or ativan. The drug is much more subtle. If you do begin to take it, like I said you will need to wait a MINIMUM of 30 days before you and possibly others will notice the benefical effects. I have recently tried to cut back on my dosage, and began to experience mild withdrawal in the forms of what feels like jolts of...

cymbalta is the best I've tried for depression, mild deppression. If your depression isn't mild, this isn't for you. The effects are very subtle which iswhy I likeit. what's most important is to give it a try for long enough to know whether it's actually helping ir not. — I needed to up my dosage to o feel better. I started at 60mg, thought "well,it's a little better" we uped it to 90mg, and within 2 weeks I was feeling so much better. you just need to get the dosage right, play around with it. When I went higher than 90mg,I felt anxious..but 90mg was perfect. It's a very subtle drug, just makes me feel more social and able to be around people and enjoy it more and get more out of it. I don't feel like hiding away from the world anymore — —...

I did take Effexor XR for awhile and it helped me quite a bit. Unfortunately I could not continue to take it because my insurance did not cover non-generic meds and it was just way too expensive for me. — While the side effects were bothersome, they did level off or subsided completely. The worst was the sweating and sleeplessness. I had to make sure that I took the Effexor XR in the morning so I could hopefully get a decent night's rest. The headaches were also a problem but they were a problem for me before the Effexor XR so I couldn't blame the prescription entirely. —...

roserighter says "Not worth the headache." about Effexor XR

I began taking Effexor FX a year ago when I felt overcome by emotions. The first two weeks on these pills were rough. I had crippling headaches, felt dizzy and lightheaded and had trouble getting out of bed to function normally. After the adjustment period these symptoms diminished and I felt good for a while. I even had the dosage doubled after a few months when it started to wear off at the dosage of 75 mg. — — I am not one who likes to take pills for anything. I was skeptical about taking Effexor FX to begin with, but my real concern came the first day I missed a dose of the pill. I experienced what I call lightening headaches. I couldn't function well, I needed to sleep a lot during the day and it felt like electricity was buzzing from one side of my head to the other. — — I then researched the side effects of Effexor FX online and found the numerous complaints about weight gain, headaches and addiction. — — I recently stopped taking...

My spouse has been using this product for over 5 years for mild depression and it was exactly what the doctor ordered. Mood was improved, negative thoughts were erased and life was (is) great. The only negatives are the price (little prescription care- costs about $115/month) and the withdraw symptoms. When trying to go off of it, extreme nausiousness, headaches, chills....it was like going off hard-core illegal drugs.
I was one of those miserable, angry,at the world people, for no good reason. My earliest memories are filled with gloom and hate. Now, looking back on my life, I don't know how my family put up with me.I was always fighting mad. — Anyway, after my father died when I was 40,my doctor put me on Zoloft. I didn't notice any difference in my temperament for the first 4 months. My boss noticed first, saying that I wasn't as sarcastic and short with customers. Then my boyfriend said that I wasn't "so snappy" anymore. — If anyone would have told me that medicine can change the way I think,I would have thought they were crazy.
About two months ago I was at the doctor's office having my yearly womanly tests and just started crying my eyes out. Not because of the annoying, invasive tests, but because the questions my doctor had asked me just brought the emotions of a really bad year to the surface. This, of course, concerned her so we had a long talk about some things which ended with me leaving with a prescription for Zoloft. — I had taken Zoloft once before. Once a day for a week then twice a day from then on. The problem I had with this plan is that I could barely keep my eyes open. I felt much better, calmer, less freaked out, but my personality was flat and I felt really tired for about 4 hours after taking the pill. I eventually just stopped taking it. — So this time she took this into consideration and had me take half of a pill at bedtime so that any sleepiness would 1. happen while I was sleeping; and 2. help me fall asleep faster and stay...
