celtic315 says "Enbrel is a life saver" about Enbrel

I have had Rheumatoid arthritis for twenty three years now. I just had my second son and when he was three months old, I had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance because I could hardly move a muscle. That was when I was diagnose with Rheumatoid arthritis. I have been on so many medications, just trying to find which one would work the best. In 2002, my Rheaumatologist introduced me to the medication Enbrel. At first he tried me on Humira, but after the third shot I had a bad allergic reaction to it. Then I started taking Enbrel and in about two weeks, I had less pain, less stiffness all over, and was totally amazed at how much better I felt. I even had more energy than before and I could do so many many things that I had not been able to do for so so many years. To me this is a miracle drug. I still have up and downs and flare ups, but not as much as I use too. I would recommend Enbrel and have recomended this drug to alot of people.
...

Hi People, I feel I have a duty to write this for all you who are needlessly suffering severe pain due Psoroatic Arthritis. My Dad is 53yo and has been suffering for about 15 years, he has been getting gradually worse over time to the point were he couldn't get out of bed, or fix his hair, drive his car etc. This as you can imagine was heartbreaking for me to watch, the decline of a big, strong, active man, to what looked like a dying 90 year old. Not only was it destroying his body but it was killing him mentally too as he could see no way out. His GP is in my opinion an idiot, and has been pumping him full of anti-inflammatorys, and co-codamol for years, of which he has been taking 2 or 3 time as much as he should to dull the pain. This in itself is destroying his insides and robbing him of an appetite, thus causing weight loss.

I couldn't bear to watch this merciless destruction of my hero any longer and got to researching his illness and treatments on the net ( WIKI...
...

I thank God everyday for my rheumatologist, it has been over nine years of treatment through his services at the Veterans Hospital in Northport, New York. My diagnose is poly arthritic-rheumatoid, osteo, fibromyalgae, osteoporosis, ankyloses spondylitis, hip replacements, cervical fusions bilateral carpal tunnel, r-thumb fusion, etc. At first I was on cortisone injections and Vicodin-ES. Well none of that was helping, I spent more time in bed stairing at the ceiling than enjoying my life. One med after the other until 2004 when I was give Enbrel. At first I was afraid of self ministering and making sure the mix was properly consistent with no air bubbles, but I overcame my fears and when I did within I would say a two wek span I bagan feeling better. Now I used the Enbrel Sure Click and I have my life back. I don't feel depressed and isolated. Now with the addition of cymbalta, Lyrica and Trazodone, I'm able to work at least part time and get to playing some of my sports.

It all began with...
...

I was put on Naproxen by my doctor to treat symptoms of SLE. I took it as directed of ten days, and started to feel funny. I returned to the doctor, and after reviewing my signs and symptoms, the diagnosis was made that I had medication induced CHF (congestive Heart Failure), I am now on additional pills, and have to have my labs checked regularly to make sure everything is ok! Stay away if you can....

I have been on many prescription drugs to help with my arthritic pain. Needless to say, they never worked. Sure the pain seemed less intense, but, the mild relief didn't last long. I noticed an ad about Celebrex while waiting to see my doctor and decided to ask about it. Since I tried every thing else, we decided to give it a try. Relief was just a swallow away! From the first pill I knew it was the one for me. I have been on Celebrex since 1998 and won't switch for anything. Try it--- you'll like it and will feel better!...

I was diagnosed with Psoriasis at age 5. I developed Rheumatoid Arthritis in my early 20's and was told without treatment now, I would have 10% use of my hands by age 50. So by the age of 25, over half of my body was covered in Psoriasis and there was very little I could wear without feeling extremely self-conscious. I used Enbrel for several months before becoming pregnant again and I noticed a difference within 2 months. It worked that quickly. My Psoriasis began going away and my joints felt much better. I look forward to using it again after my pregnancy.
...

JGreeley says "THE WONDER Drug" about Celebrex Pain Reliever

Clelebrex, what can I say about the medicine... well, one word comes to mind. FANTASTIC! i SUFFERED so long with pain in my hands and arms. My doctor wrote me a subscription for this medicine and I was very skepital about it. I tried it and I've not had the pain I had, I would never even think about taking anything else. It did NOT take long for me to see the improvements in my hands and arms. I can type better, and write letters, where as before I started taking celebrex, I had a hard time holding a pen.

I would recomend this to everyone. I do believe that this medicine had given me back the chance to do the things I love to do. Write, crochet and type, without the pain I was experiencing before. Thank you phfzer!!!
...

I started using Enbrel 1 year after I was diagnosed with RA. I was so grateful to have back some sort of life. However, I do get pissed off when I see comercials in which they claim they have their life back. There are still things I cannot do, and I still have flare ups. ...

wolftats14 says "almost a miracle drug" about Methotrexate

I have had Psoriatic Arthritis since my teens though it was not diagnosed until many years later. I have taken Methotrexate for 6+ years now and wish I had known of it sooner.

Before starting this drug I could barely get up in the morning. My feet constantly ached and I couldn't stand up straight until after about 10 minutes of constan momement. My hands & fingers were just as bad, stiff & constantly aching. In my 30's I felt like I had the body of a 90 yr old.

Since taking Methotrexate I have much better movement, can stand straight right away, have few days with any pain and can work on a computer all day.

I am on a pretty low dosage and so far I have not had any side effects from this drug. I am taking it with Folic Acid to help prevent the hair thinning or loss.
...

I was diagnosed with Lupus 5 years ago. The lupus attacks my joints just like having arthritis, but instead of stopping there my immune system goes on to attack my muscles, connective tissue, skin and organs. My doctor suggested I try this 2 or 3 years ago. But I was afraid because I new that it was a mild chemotherapy drug and I was afraid of the side effects. The only side effects I have had is a slight thinning of my hair and I used to get very tired about 2 hours after I took it, and had to take a nap. I fixed this by taking at night when I want to go to sleep anyway. It really has had a great effect on my Lupus. I ALMOST feel normal. I still have my bad days, but I have more good days now than bad days now, and that's progress....
