carrienwa says "Life Is Too Short To Not Live It To The Fullest" about Fluoxetine Prozac

I lost my second grandchild in a 2 year period and really had a difficult time dealing with it all. I finally opted to go on this medication Prozac as my anxiety was so severe I couldn't sleep, function, mind stop, etc. After 3 weeks of mild side effects I really had some relief and kinda felt somewhat a little normal again. After 4 months of being on this medication however, my sexual function went from always desirable to none and not being able to sexually function anymore, enough to take myself off this. I am now on my 3rd week of going off this medication and I have to say it has been pure hell!!! I have been so tired and my muscles are so dang weak. I feel like somewhat beat my whole body up. Although I feel like this medication really helped me at such a trying time in my life, I would not recommend anyone to have to go on this medication. It is too much hell to go through to get off...

I have had anxiety disorder for quite some time. My doctor's tried me on many different medicines but nothing ever really helped. I started to self medicate with cigarettes and was okay. When my Meemaw died of lung cancer (shirley-bellavia.memory-of.com) I quit smoking in her memory. Now, not only was my self-medication gone... but I was dealing with the death of someone VERY close to me... and I was there when she died which made death SO real to me. I was having panic attacks left and right and was miserable to live with. — ALL BETTER Then my doctor prescribed Klonopin. Klonipin is my new cigarette basically... only I'm not addicted. I use it like an asthmatic uses a rescue inhaler basically. When I'm having a panic attack, I take one. A few minutes later I'm calm. A few minutes after that I'm either asleep or drooling. :) When I say that I'm not addicted I mean... I haven't taken one since June. So for those that take it daily, I can't really vouch...

hoppyhenryjoe says "Roche brand clonazepam" about Roche Clonazepam

Clonazepam (also called Klonopin (brand) by Roche (and all other brands) is usually prescribed to treat panic disorder with or without agoraphobia. It is also used to treat certain forms of epilepsy (e.g., petit mal). It is infrequently prescribed for other forms of anxiety disorders. — — Having been on the plethora of various AD's (anitdepressants) of all families (SSRI's, SNRI's, tricyclics, tetracyclics (and other variants), MAOI's and other types of conventional medications (and many 'cocktails') over the past 25+ years, I can no longer take AD's for my condition. I have attended years of therapy (CBT, visualization, counseling, etc. etc.) in conjunction with medications. My condition is severe and very chronic and the use of prescribed AD's has left me unable to take them anymore due to lack of efficacy and negative effects (including permanent increased anxiety due to usage and several instances of Serotonin Syndrome. My situation is quite unusual in the anxiety...

YOUR drug-Xanax has helped me tremendously. My Dr. tried to put me on a different drug, it did not help at all. Generic types tend to get chalky (like they've gotten wet). But, Pfisers keep that smooth surface. I also feel that the other brand, does not keep up to the right standards. They are less effective!. So, I seek out yours! It has helped me get through the death of my husband, plus anxiety and panic attack's. I take the 2mg x 3 per day-really-less. This is what my Dr. prescribes. I can get by with taking 2-1.0mg a day. They also help me sleep. I do not get a euphoric feeling, or like a hang-over, such as with valuim. — It seems that the government has been getting stricter with this drug.It is the people who do not know that you cannot drink alcohol or take other drugs with it. Or, over exceed the dosage amount.. a bigger problem: I KNOW is the people who take methedone with Xanax. That is really a BIG...

This drug is very mixed....hmmm. — First 2 weeks i got worse - sleeping 16 hours a day, nausea, slightly increased suicidal thoughts but after the first 2 weeks i had no problems. I even increased my dosage to 40mg and 60mg with no problems. However, this drug did lead to my dizziness and eventual collapse from posterial hypertension. But....I sufferred no withdrawl and this was the worst that happenned to me after 10 months on the drug and now id like to say "im all better" (although can never say cured). Give it a chance - it does geta bit too much negtive press in my opinion. These are very "individual" drugs and if you have good GPs like i did ull never have a problem —...

Quick View: Some of you may know I am hyper. What you may not know is that I am anxious and that comes out in hyperness at times. I have had anxiety my whole life and was once almost housebound because of it. I have overcome so much but, a while ago, I was talking to my doctor about my lack of motivation and my looming anxiety about my sons' wellbeing and he suggested a completely "safe" medication, Lexapro. I don't even take Tylenol so I said NO WAY. However, I eventually did try it hoping to get back my old spirit and get up and go. Uhhh ... well, my experience was a strange one. — — My Experience with Lexapro — — My first question to my doctor was, "Will this make me gain weight?" Yes, I am THAT vain. I had been 123 pounds for years and I had no plans of changing that. Not even if I felt a little better. He told me that he had NO patients who EVER experienced weight gain. Well, now he does. — — I started super slow. I only took a teeeeeny bit...

ALSKULL says "Less Addictive than medicines in its Class" about Roche Pharmeceuticals Klonopin

Klonipin is one drug in the class of benzodiazapans which act on the nervous system to calm and relax. The drug really does work, and very quickly, usually within 5 minutes even being taken orally. It promotes good sleep and a sense of tranquility, when used properly. One downside is that klonipin, like its cousins Ativan and Xanax has a noteriety of being habit froming and development of a tolerance. In my case I have not found this to be true as my dosage has not increased nor have I experienced any withdrawal sysmptoms when I have stopped taking the drug for a period of time. It does have a rebound effect on me if I quit taking it in that I have a very hard time getting back to sleep. As opposed to Xanax & Ativan Klonipin has a longer "half life" in which the drug begins, peaks, and and stops working. For this doctors will often prescribe Klonipin first, as the potential for addiction is somewhat lowered. This drug is very inexpensive, so may be a prime choice...

I have been using Seroquel for about 4 months now to help a mild bipolar problem that my doctor thinks I am suffering from. The med does help prvent highs and lows in behavoir and emotion, and with an increased dose at night allows me a deep and sound sleep. There are several side effects associated with this drug. Feeling a bit groggy the first 30 minutes or so upon waking, dry mouth at times, and heart burn are some of them. Another strange effect is that it seems to make my feet sensitive shortly after ingestion. Not a tingling or pain, but just very sensitive to pressure. This drug is effective and does cause some sedation, so care should be used when driving or the like when first started to be used. This drug is very expensive and is not probably suitable to those without...

This drug caused my Type 2 diabetes. It did this because one of the side effects is weight gain. The weight gain from this med made me gain over 50 lbs. even though I had watched what I ate. I had taken this med in 2003, and started off at 25mg. I gained a little weight, but lost it. Then when my Doctor increased it in 2004 to 300mg twice a day, I ended up gaining over 50lbs. because of this, I became insulin resistant. My endo told me that was because of the med causing me to gain weight. When I told my psych doctor, he did not believe her, and in 2006 at the age of 27, two years on the 300mg twice a day dose, I got diagnosed with type 2...
