AnnaBanana says "It's still not the REAL thing but it's pretty good." about Dean's 2% Reduced Fat Holiday Egg Nog

When I was a little kid, no year-end holiday season was complete at Grandpa Bowen's house until some hero among us adjourned to the kitchen in the evening and whipped up a bowl or pitcher of egg nog. The formula was simple -- according to some old family recipe, you beat up a few raw eggs with an egg beater (Remember egg beaters!) before adding in a quart of whole milk, some sugar, and a touch of nutmeg. After apportioning my share to me, the adults may have spiked what was left before they divided it among themselves. We toasted each other with our glasses of nog for a festive moment destined to become a memory which I will always treasure.

If you have never tasted fresh, foamy homemade egg nog, you really missed something and alas, it looks like a lot of people have missed the boat on this permanently. Not only is a bowl of egg nog a lot of trouble to make but the authorities have warned us about the danger of eating anything made with fresh (raw) eggs which now present a...
...

annie123 says "Haagen-Dazs five Vanilla Bean Ice Cream is #1 with me!" about Haagen Dazs Haagen-Dazs five Vanilla Bean Ice Cream

I need to start with a confession: I LOVE ice cream. Ever since I was a kid and the ice cream truck would ring his bell - I would come a running to that truck. I've probably enjoyed more brands than most - regional brands, semi-"name" brands, and all the "biggies." And I wasn't always a "vanilla" devote. My tastes were as diverse as "Chunky Monkey" and "Cherry Garcia." For elegant indulgences, I would lean toward anything "Dove." But I digress...

For a couple of years, I have favored H-D. And I've had most of their vast array of flavors/combo flavors. And then I started to gravitate to Vanilla Bean. It stood shoulder-to-shoulder with any other flavor and was most versatile.

Then one day as I went to reach for my tried and true, and what did I see? Simple white containers, with simple graphics bearing the Haagen-Dazs logo aside my familiar containers. This required closer inspection! Each had the number five spelled out, a picture of the "essence of the flavor" and the ingredients,...
...

soleskiewicz says "Starts my day off" about Coffee Mate Coffee Mate Liquid Creamer

Coffee Mate Liquid Creamer has become a part of my morning routine over the years. There is always a bottle of Fr. Vanilla and Hazelnut in my fridge and if it gets low we restock right away. Although I have used other creamers and sometimes still do there is nothing like your morning coffee with your coffee mate creamer. It just starts the day off right and makes you smile. ( and wakes ya up ) Nestle sent me a great 2010 calendar with $1.00 off coupons all threw the year for coffee mate and their other products. I also love that before I go to the store to buy my creamer I can print out a coupon at either www.coffeemate.com or coupons.com and get atleast $1.00 off everytime I buy it. I love great tasting coffee and saving is nice too!! They have a wonderful peogram for women also on the site where you can send a " cup of confidence " to a woman in need which helps donate to the Dress for Success program. :)
...

LisaCarey says "Pretends to be healthy with fiber and ruins it with artificial " about Yoplait Fiber One Yogurt

My daughter loves yogurt. She eats it every day. I was worried about the sugar and high fructose corn syrup in many yogurts and made a rookie mistake - I bought instead of some other yogurts I know -- Yoplait Fiber One Yogurt not reading the label or box and being fooled by yogurt and fiber.

The package of Yoplait Fiber One Yogurt tells you about the great fiber you are getting, the few calories and all the other good things you need to know. It also does tell you about about the artificial and natural sweeteners but with two kids in the cart - who has time to read all that?

So, into my cart it went, even thought it was $3.29 for a 4 pack. Luckily, Kroger's had them BOGO so it wasn't too shocking of a sticker price.

Now don't get me wrong, the yogurt is attractive to look at and smooth and creamy. Yoplait Fiber One Yogurt has visible fruit blended but not chunky just the way a child would like it. And my kids did like it! But I didn't like the bitter taste of the artificial...
...

I wasn't sure what I was going to think about this product. I just discovered (after much bloating and horrible discomfort) that I had become Lactose Intolerant. I was so scared that I was going to hate the taste of soy-milk and that it would taste "beany". I can tell you that NOTHING could be further from the truth! The first thing that came to mind when I took that first sip was that it tasted just like raw rolled oats with milk and a little sugar. I'm sure that some people might find that a little off-putting, but if you like oatmeal, you'll like the taste of vanilla Silk. I mean, if you're expecting it to taste like cow's milk, then you're up for some serious disapointment; BUT if you're expecting it to taste terrible or just plain "unappealing" then you may just be pleasantly surprised!

Found this in the store & decided to give it a try. It comes in a clear plastic bag shaped like a pastry bag. When you cut off the top end of the bag there is a plastic tip inside the bag that you slide down into the openning. You twist & squeeze the bag & the whipped topping comes out. My children love using it & they put it onto their ice cream, hot chocolate & even their pie. It's easy to use with no mess & it taste great. My kids like to pretend they're working at a bakery & they start decorating their pies with it. Not many stores sell it so if you see it buy it up. After using it you have to store it into the refrigerator & it stores for a long time.
...

CopperFlowers says "Most delicious yogurt ever!" about Yoplait Whips!

Yoplait Whips is the absolute best-tasting and best-textured yogurt I have ever eaten. I like yogurt but am not fond of very wet, drippy, extra-creamy kinds. Whips is smooth and somehow more is less. It's actually like a very firm mousse or even a gelatin. The flavor I tried, Key Lime, was extremely fruity and very flavorful, and the texture and taste worked together exquisitely.

Whips are available in several flavors, and I plan to try them all. It was easy to find, reasonably priced, especially for the taste, and is a healthy snack anyone would enjoy. The Yoplait container is distinctive and easy to recognize, as well. My son, a teenager, enjoyed it also, and he is a finicky eater. Getting his calcium is easy with a good-tasting yogurt. I noticed that the taste was not overly sweet like some others.

It's hard to put my finger on just what made the flavor so different. It was vivid, and had no yogurt taste at all, just fresh fruit and a delightful custard-like texture....
...

This is the worlds best cheese and cracker cheese. It's nutty, and robust. It has the best fullness. It is wonderfull with wine and in my case beauiful sparkling grape juice. It is very creamy in the center, but it has the wonderful hardness of smoking on the outside. If you chose correctly and get a rind that is very dark it will have the most nutty and best smoked flavor on the inside. This is the most decadant chesse that I choose to eat. It is better than the most exspensive gouda or brie that you can buy at any grocer here in the Great Smokey Mountains. Which is pretty hard to do. lol. I sing the praises of this cheese to everyone I know and have branded it to my entire family it my "precious" cheese. LOL No one touches it they all value their fingers more than that. But in all reality, even the pickiest cheese eater will adore this cheese, they get sucked in by the robust nutty flavor and do not realize it truly is cheese.
...

Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa is what my kids love to wake up to. I start my morning by turning on the teapot so that their cocoa i s ready right when they come downstairs in the morning. Swiss Miss is their morning equivalent of coffee. In fact, sometimes I add a little Swiss Miss to my coffee. We have tried other brands, but Swiss Miss remains our favorite. Easy to mix with water and not lumpy. I love it myself on a cold day or evening when I want something kind of sweet and comforting. I always buy the family size which easily accomodates my budget. We have tried and love all of the different flavors with marshallow being our favorite. Swiss Miss goes with us on vacation and camping trips. Sometimes, I even put it in the kids thermos for lunch at school. Swiss Miss is also easy to make in a big thermal pot for a group function or a snow day outside for the kids to share. We love Swiss Miss and will long be consumers.
...

Jo says "Chobani Greek Yogurt: give it a try" about Chobani Greek Yogurt

I learned about Chobani Greek Yogurt at a 12-week weight loss class I have been taking. The reason it was mentioned is because of the amount of protein the yogurts have.

I just finished Blueberry Non-Fat yogurt. I have tried every flavor (except plain) and find them all really delicious. Make sure you stir them because the fruit is at the bottom. I have one a day!

Chobani Greek Yogurt comes in 6-ounce and 16-ounce cups. That is a bit strange because the larger containers serve 2 although they have 8 ounces. Obviously you'll get more calories in half of the 16 ounce yogurt.

The company donates 10% of their profits to charities. http://www.chobani.com

Chobani Greek Yogurt is delicious. I was a bit apprehensive at first because I am so used to non-Greek yogurt I had no idea what to expect. I thought it would be too thick but it isn't. It is just the right consistency.

I love Ice Cream, but not plain ice creams like Chocolate or Vanilla. I love my ice cream to have nuts, or chunks of things and I am not fond of ice creams that are just too chocolatey. While Edy's Peanut Butter Cup is chocolatey, it has just the right amount of chocolate that is does not over power the great taste of the peanut butter cup chunks.

The Flavor of Edy's Peanut butter cup Ice cream is creamy and rich, not too heavy the peanut butter cups are nice size pieces without being to large or too small. If the pieces were too small they would add a sandy texture, but being just the right size they make this a wonderful ice cream. I love that you can actually taste the peanut butter but that is doesn't take away from the chocolate.

The texture of this ice cream is smooth, chunky, with nice bites of peanut butter cup and not too sweet. Edy's would rival any of the more expensive ice cream brands. I would give this ice cream five stars and recommend it to others as wel as serve to guest...
...

What was amazing, while living in Spain, you can buy fresh yogurt at the store daily. When I mean fresh, it was! Organic with fruit or not the flavor was unbelievable. Later, when I came the US I tried so many different brands of yogurt, but I could not find that wonderful flavor I was used to until I tried Stonyfield now remember I said they come close good enough for me.
...

If I was keeping a life time-line, 2009 would be the year of the olive oil. This year I have discovered olive oil soap and olive oil moisturizer to go with the butter substitute made from olive oil I've used for over five years now. Olivio was recommended by my Father's doctor and then my Father recommended it to me. The butter substitute is called, Olivio.

Olivio has a rich, buttery flavor that tastes great. You can buy it as a premium spread in a large tub made of light olive oil, a spreadable butter that combines real butter with canola and olive oil to make a healthier butter and a buttery spray that is perfect for diets because you can control the amount you spray.

All of the Olivio products can be frozen so I always make sure I have an extra in the freezer- just in case.

What makes Olivio unique?

I don't normally care for ice cream, but because my husband was pressuring me to get some so he wouldn't feel guilty for eating it, I caved in and picked up a 14 oz. carton of Haagen Dazs Five Ginger Ice Cream. This ice cream is made with only 5 (hence the name) all-natural ingredients...nothing but cream, milk, sugar, ginger, and egg yolks in this blend. Even without all the extra additives or low-fat milk, this ice cream only has 230 calories and 12 grams of fat in a half-cup serving, which isn't bad at all for high-quality ice cream! Haagen Dazs describes the product as "refreshing, with a slightly warm kick of flavor."

Not being an ice cream fan, I expected to eat a few bites, then leave the rest for my husband to finish later. There is NO way that is going to happen now!!! I absolutely love the flavor of this ice cream. It tastes like candied ginger, and because it is such a simple recipe, you can really taste each individual ingredient. A little bit goes a long way...
...

lilmisssunshine says "A nice "hold me over" snack" about Stonyfield Farm fat free yogurt

Stonyfield Farm Fat Free Yogurt is a great alternative to eating regular yogurt. I normally do not like the taste of organic yogurt, but the creamy texture & great flavor of this really work for me. I've had the vanilla, which happens to be my favorite, as well as the blueberry & I was very pleased with both. My only gripe is that some of the blueberries in the blueberry one seemed a little dried out.

I also appreciate the things Stonyfield Farm does for the earth and environment. Not only do they raise funds for different causes or charities, but I think bringing attention to different issues is also helpful. Many people do not realize the severity of many issues (like pollution or climate control) unless it is made aware to them. Their website (just stonyfield.com) shows people what they can do to make an impact, so you know they are, at least somewhat, practicing what they preach.

My favoite part is that I don't have to pay a ton more for this product. On my last trip...
...

This yogurt is lowfat heaven! You wouldnt believe it was lowfat. Its so decadent and rich tasting. Almost better than ice cream. There are only 4 flavors I know of, should be more! I had the triple berry cream and the creme caramel. The triple berry is my favorite, but I did not care for the creme caramel. It was like a fruity caramel or something and wasn't so good to me. The flavors are Triple berry cream, Creme' Caramel, Chocolate Raspberry, and Lemon Torte.
...

I saw these right next to my usual yo-plait and figured why not. They are kind of spendy but if you pair it with a good coupon and a sale they are pretty thrifty then. I took one to work with me today and ate as my mid-morning snack. It was so good. It was like eating the most yummiest pudding desert. I have only tried the Chocolate Raspberry. I have the caramel sitting at home. These are great pick me ups for the lag time between an early breakfast and lunch or for snack-thirty in the afternoon. At only 100 calories, for those of us that count, it is a nice little snack that will not make you guilty for sneaking that fun size snickers and reaching for more. It is smooth and when it was gone I wanted to lick the plastic container!
...

The Caramel Macchiato is my favorite coffee from Starbucks and this tastes pretty darn close for being something that I can just make at home. And it's a whole lot cheaper! It takes really good and the nutritional value on it isn't tooooo bad... I love that this creamer tastes very close to the real deal. I love Starbucks but it can get a tad price. I also love that I can have this right in my home....no need to drive around to find a Starbucks...I can have my very own version of Starbucks right in my own home. The price of this creamer is also really reasonable and is even more so when you can find a coupon or this new brand. I really enjoy this actual brand and am glad to see them expanding their flavors. It's nice to have some not so sweet creamers also. I like that this one isn't really sweet and has the best after taste. It is an excellent find and I can honestly say that I am truly glad to have found this product!
...
