this2shallpass19 says "Cattlemen's is my absolute favorite BBQ sauce!" about Cattlemen's Classic Barbecue Sauce

Something I make for a dinner a lot is BBQ beef sandwiches. I cook a large roast in a crock-pot for hours, then shred it and pour BBQ sauce all over it. Over the years, I have tried many BBQ sauces including one I like quite well, KC Masterpiece Original Barbecue Sauce, but my absolute favorite is still Cattlemen's Classic Barbecue Sauce.

The label on the back of the bottle says: "Year after year, Cattlemen's BBQ Sauce has been the #1 choice of professional chefs and the secret behind award winning BBQ at the World Championship Barbecue contest at Memphis in May."

Cattlemen's makes several varieties of barbecue sauce, but my favorite is "classic". I haven't tried all their flavors, but "classic" is so perfect, I can't imagine anything else being better. It has the perfect blend of seasoning and spices. It's a little spicy, a little tangy, a little hickory, not too sweet and totally perfect. There's definitely a little zip in it, perhaps from mustard bran. It also has the perfect...
...

CyndiA says "Wild n Mild is a great grilling marinade and mop style BBQ sauce" about Wild n Mild Grilling Marinade & Sauce

Wild n Mild barbecue sauce is one of my favorites. It doubles as a marinade for meats or can be brushed or mopped on throughout the grilling process, since it does not have a ketchup or tomato base.

This grilling sauce can be used on basically anything. We use it on steaks, pork chops, chicken, and vegetables. It adds an interesting flavor - kind of sweet but with a bit of zip. The hot version has more kick than the mild, of course.

For any hunters out there, Wild n Mild is very good on game meat. It helps pull the gamey taste out when used as a marinade and adds the nice sauce flavor.

We also use Wild n Mild for stir fry. Neither of my sons really like the taste of soy sauce. This is similar in terms of the texture, but the flavor is nicer in stir fry dishes. Wild n Mild adds the moisture and then sauces up so that stir fry meats and veggies are very good over rice.

I have a grill site called Yes You Can Grill, and I try out lots of barbecue marinades and sauces. Wild n Mild is one of...
...

I recently went on vacation and stayed in a rental home in Big Bear Lake, California. I like to be as simple and practical as possible when on a road trip, so I bought Nestle Coffee-Mate French Vanilla Coffee Creamer Packets because I didn't want to bring perishable half & half, my regular coffee creamer.

I thought these single serve packets would be perfect since they can be room temperature and they come in a small box instead of a huge, plastic container, like other powder coffee creamers. Unfortunately, I don't like the way they make my coffee taste, so they were almost a waste of money.

Nestle Coffee-Mate French Vanilla Coffee Creamer Packets come with five, .42 ounce, single serving packets to a box. These are not the liquid creamers, they are powder. I do admit that these are very convenient since they are pre-measured, but what's the point if they don't cream my coffee enough? I understand they can't possibly make single serve packets that satisfy everyone, but I'm...
...

AnnaBanana says "This may not be everyone's cup of tea." about Hellmann's Mayonnaise with Extra Virgin Olive Oil

For years, I have loved extra virgin olive oil and also mayonnaise, especially Hellmann's. A while back I took a chance and tried Kraft Mayonnaise with Olive Oil and was pleasantly surprised. It seemed to be a healthier option and tasted very similar to the "regular" version of this famous sandwich spread and salad dressing. My favorite mayo continued to be Hellmann's though and so I was glad to finally try Hellmann's Mayonnaise with Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

STATS:

One tablespoon is considered to be a single serving which contains 50 calories with 45 calories from fat. There are 5 grams Total Fat, half a gram Saturated Fat, zero grams Trans Fat, 2.5 grams Polyunsaturated Fat, 1.5 grams Monounsaturated Fat, 5 mg. Cholesterol, 120 mg. Sodium, less than one gram Total Carbs and zero Protein.

MY VIEWPOINT:

Since I love the taste of extra virgin olive oil and also Hellmann's famous signature product, I expected the blend of the two to be a sure winner in my book. For some reason,...
...

Even more than I like to cook Italian food, I love to eat it. Pastas and pasta sauces are among some of the best comfort foods in my opinion. I really like pesto, but haven't quite mastered making it from scratch with fresh ingredients, so that's where Kirkland Signature Cibo Naturals Fresh Basil Pesto comes in. It's a fresh pesto that is made with all natural ingredients. I bought it at Costco for around $10 for a large, 22 ounce container.

I love that this product is made with all natural ingredients, but I really love how good it tastes. It tastes really fresh! The blend of basil, garlic, parmesan cheese and olive oil is absolutely perfect. I have served it over ravioli and even used it as a dipping sauce for bread. This is definitely one of the best pestos I have ever had, if not the best.

Ingredients: fresh basil, extra-virgin olive oil, canola oil, non-GMO and rBGH-free parmesan cheese, pine nuts, fresh garlic, rice vinegar, salt and black pepper.

Have you ever tried the true all natural sweetener? I came across this product when I was looking for cheaper and better tasting sweetener without all the calories. I have tried all of them and I found that they all contain some form of destrose which is not a healthy alternative. It is a sugar alcohol. Stevia can have a bitter aftertaste if too much is used. Sun Crystals have only 5 calories and it is a blend of sugar and stevia. Both of which are natural. The price is very reasonable and just one packet sweetens my coffee just perfect and I like my coffee sweet. Just one packet equals two teasoons of sugar. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is searching for a delicious sweetener without all the calories. The only place I have found it in my area is Walmart but in the bigger cities it may be available in more stores. It is also a proud sponsor of the American Diabetes Association.
...

jkax2 says "PureVia is NOT all natural!" about PureVia All Natural Zero Calorie Sweetener

The statistical percentage of an all natural, zero calorie sweetener is misleading. PureVia is misleading in it's claims. Virtually everything that is natural that we consume has a caloric value ( with very few exceptions; ie. H2O).

The ramifications of misleading consumers on this product is unethical. In present literature, artificial sweeteners are still being debated as a carcinogen. Also found in medical litature is that artificial sweeteners cause the body's reaction to these products to be "confused" if dieting and not be a significant contributor to weight lose.

In addition, children exposed to artificial sweeteners can have consequence's, since the brain is developing; we don't no the long term effects on the brain from these products.

PureVia should be a "buyer beware" product. Consumers owe it to themselves and their loved ones to read the ingredient's and be knowledgeable of what they are ingesting.
...

Like many others, I am on a search to find a good sugar replacement. Splenda has come the closest, although that's another alternative that isn't a perfect replacement. When I started hearing about the stevia plant and then had a chance to try PureVia, I was hoping that I could find a true sugar substitute.

PureVia does about as good a job as Splenda. There isn't a harsh aftertaste like some other artificial sweeteners, but it doesn't really doesn't taste like sugar. That's not to say it's not sweet, but there's definitely something lacking.

I have tried other sweeteners, but I always found something off-putting about them - bitter, funny aftertaste, unnatural. PureVia fits the bill as a tasty AND healthy sweetener. I avoid artifical sweeteners at all costs, not only because they taste strange, but because health professionals do caution against their use.

PureVia is made from Reb A, the sweetest part of the natural stevia plant. It is more than 200 times sweeter than sugar! It contains almost zero carbs and no calories - 'sounds like a fantasy, but it is true. There is NO bitter aftertaste.

One packet is like 2 teaspoons of sugar - I love my coffee and tea sweet, and I no longer feel guilty about pouring on the sweetener. PureVia is a perfect sweetener for diabetics, and, because I am a "sugar freak," I found that I have dropped a few pounds after switching from sugar to PureVia.

Lastly, you don't have to shop at a healthfood store for PureVia. You should be able to buy it at your local grocery store OR pharmacy. ...
...

I was pleasantly surprised when I tried the free sample I received from Purvia Zero Calorie Sweetner. Like promised it tasted very close to regular sugar. I used it mostly in my coffee to replace sweet & low which I always worrry about using because 'they' say it's bad for you.

I was given a coupon which is a great plus and will purchase this the next time I am shopping.

The best thing was my husband who will not touch 'fake' sweetener products loved it! He thought it tasted just like sugar and he used it in his coffee also. I'd say it's a good product that I will definately recommend.

I did have to use three packets in my coffee to equal the two packets I'd use of sweet & low type products....

Being a class 1 Diabetic for some 28 years now , I have tryed alot of different artificial sweetners, some good some not so good. PureVia actually surprised me it was sweet and didnt leave an after taste , to me this is a good thing . I would definately recommend PureVia. The next test will be to see how it tastes when used as a replacement for cooking, whether my kids and grandkids will be able to tell the difference or not . To me this is a very important issue because my kids growing up always could tell the difference when mom cooked with the real stuff ( sugar ) or when I cooked with a artificial sweetner. And to them there was no replacing the real stuff so as I said the real test will be to see if they can tell the difference without me pointing it out to them. I myself honestly dont believe they will be able to with PurVia , I think it tastes pretty real to me but my tastebuds may be a bit out of wack by now . Oh by the way Happy Holidays EveryOne!!!
...

I also like it because you don't have to use very much of it to make the food or drink I am using it with sweet enough, unlike with granulated sugar, raw sugar or honey. Just the tip of a teaspoon is all I need to make my coffee or tea sweet enough. With regular granulated sugar or honey I have to use alot more for sure. 2 and 1/2 teaspoons of sugar & with honey I have to add alot more, about 3-4 teaspoons for my tea or coffee. Honey is alot more expensive to use as well.
...

kellkat says "Why so VAGUE about the "natural flavors" in the ingredients?" about PureVia All Natural Zero Calorie Sweetener

This product is going to all kinds of lengths to show how "natural" it is, explaining how it is so naturallly derived, and so pure and so wonderful. But I had to do a Google search to find the list of FAQ's, where someone asked the big question - what are the ingredients in PureVia? Unfortunately, like so many other products today that claim to be "natural", PureVia also lists one of the ingredients simply as "natural flavors". I have read too much that tells me that "natural flavors" is often an "alias" for MSG. The only way I will be convinced that PureVia is not trying to hide something is if they will come TRULY CLEAN and tell me the natural flavors to which they are referring.
...

mollymcgrath says "Still doesn't taste like sugar..." about PureVia All Natural Zero Calorie Sweetener

I first must admit that I am always a pessimist when it comes to these pastel blue, pink, and yellow packeted "sweetners." I will not ever be impressed until I find something that isn't sugar, yet tastes like sugar, not sweetened metal.

It's important to note that accidently drinking my husband's diet coke makes me die a little inside. As does drinking his coffee when I don't realize he's added sweetener to it. I often drink my coffee black, and always unsweetended iced tea. I do love sweets though. Calorie-laden, butter, three cups over sugar-added sweets. I am a huge fan of sugar and honey and maple syrup.

I work in a coffee shop, and have worked in my coffee shops. One of them offered around 15 different sugar free syrups (and around 50 flavored syrups all together), and not one time did I like the sugar free ones.

NEVER IN MY LIFE have I enjoyed any kind of sweetener.

Sure, sugar turns in to fat, and the always accurate tabloids have reported that a sugar addiction caused Britney...
...

CloudNine says "stevia causes birth defects!" about PureVia All Natural Zero Calorie Sweetener

I recently read an article posted on spark people about the actual science and history of Stevia, the ingredient in PureVia and other sweeteners. The contents of the article may surprise you. Did you know that Stevia, until recently, was NOT approved in the US as a food additive? It had to be sold as a "Dietary Supplement" because the FDA revoked its use as a food additive in the 1970's.

New reports were ordered a few years ago, and the conclusions of those reports were that the sweeteners in stevia are "GRAS", or Generally Recognized As Safe. The new studies did not evaluate both chemicals that make up the sweetener, so the new studies are not as thorough as the studies from the 1970's.

Now, one thing you should know is: "When the FDA adds a food (or ingredient) to the GRAS list, it can be sold in foods and as a food product, even without prior FDA approval and without definitive proof that the food actually is safe."

This scares me. Generally recognized as safe? the FDA has not approved...
...

jilly021 says "I didn't like it." about PureVia All Natural Zero Calorie Sweetener

Purevia had a light sweetening effect but the awful side and after taste canceled out any of the sweetening. I put a tiny bit in my coffee with some flavored coffee creamer and I could still pick out the funny taste of Purevia. It was so bad I had to dump out the coffee and use a different sweetener. I can't list other name brands but there is a better alternative to Purevia that is also low-calorie and all-natural. Let me just say that it's sweet taste is very "TRUE." The little packets are very convenient but I don't understand why these "all-natural" products use so much wasteful packaging! Also, it is too expensive. Overall, I didn't like the taste, I find the packaging wasteful, and it is too expensive.
...
