bigbugstomper says "Loved it for years, can't stand it now" about Dunkin Donuts coffee

I hit the Dunkin's drive through on my way to work every day for years. I loved the stuff. — — Then I moved away, discovered good coffee, and can't go back. — — I recently visited my old hometown and went to Dunkin's out of nostalgia. The Munchkins were awesome. The coffee was so nasty I felt bad for the parking lot I dumped it in. I tried a different Dunkin's another day, thinking it was a fluke. Nope, same nasty stuff. — — Either it's changed in the last few years, or I've just moved on. But I'll never drink the stuff again. You don't have to pay for Starbucks to get much better coffee. —...

You just can't go wrong with Tully's. Better flavor than Starbuck's- doesn't taste burnt. — — The Espresso Blend makes great fancy, expensive, "treat yourself" drinks at the shops. — — I usually get the House blend for home. Unless I get the Madison. Or the Spinelli. Or their Kenyan blend. I can only think of one of their blends I don't like, and that's just my personal preference. — — If you aren't lucky enough to live near a Tully's, they'll grind it however you like and ship it to you. ...

shadaram says "Wasn't even worth eating for FREE!!!" about McDonalds Southern Style Chicken Sandwich

Today McDonald's was giving out their new Southern Style Chicken sandwich, which is a Chick-Fil-A knock off, for free if you purchased a medium drink. In my opinion, this is probably the only way they will get you to eat it! I am probably being a little on the unfair side, because I am comparing this sandwich to Chick-fil-a's original chicken sandwich, but it is a blatant knock-off, so why not. If you are going to copy the best, then you better do a good job, and McDonald's falls flat. They even copied the chicken biscuit for breakfast. — — In the pictures of this sandwich, it looks exactly like the Chick-fil-a sandwich, but when you receive it in person, it is nothing like that. It is a bun, with a chicken fillet, and 2 pickles, just like someone else's we know, but that is where the only comparison is. And as a side-note: couldn't they have given you 3 or 4 pickles, did it have to be 2 JUST LIKE CHICK-FIL-A???? Even if I don't compare this sandwich, I was not at all...

We've had some pretty hot temperatures here in southern Louisiana and that means a nice cold treat is in order for those long and hot summer days. One of the favorite ice cream bars here is Klondike Slim a Bear No Sugar Added Bars. It has a low sugar content and it is one of the treats my husband, who is diabetic can also enjoy if he has followed his diet closely for the day. — — Klondike Slim a Bear No Sugar Added Bars — — Klondike Slim a Bear No Sugar Added Bars come 6 bars to a package. They retail for $3.99 a box but coupons are frequently available for $.75 off in your Sunday newspaper supplements. — — The vanilla bars have a chocolate coating and are wrapped in foil. They do not come on a stick like other ice cream bars do. The vanilla is artificially flavored and the chocolate is sweetened with aspartame. Each bar is a nice size and weighs 4 oz. each. — — Nutritional...

JCSKcats says "Read your product ingredients and SAVE your life..." about HEINZ, Smucker's, Karo, Wish Bone

As a consumer, and overweight individual I have a small and healthy bit of information which I read recently in a popular news stand magazine regarding HFCS (more commonly referred to as: High Fructose Corn Syrup) that is an ingrediaent found in many household food packages which aids in weight gain (this is where SIZE does matter). Why is HFCS so important to talk about and be aware of? Because High Fructose Corn Syrup is SUGAR and no amount of counting calories, watching Carbohydrate intake, drinking gallons of water, and exercising a minimum of 20 - 30 minutes a day is going to be enough if people are taking in large amounts of HFCS's. This doesn't mean you need to give up Great tasting foods, it just means you want to read more and decide what is healthy for you and your family. — A few more questions...If you buy something because it is low in calories and/or carbohydrates (sugars) because you are trying to live a healthier more balanced lifestyle, why would you buy a...

In my quest to find a chocolate snack that's not too high in fat, and is actually sorta, kinda good for me, I bought one of Peak Bar's Organic Chocolate Brownies. The label calls it a "Women's Health" product, and describes it as "bakery style." I have no idea what makes this product one geared towards women and, unless they're referring to mud bricks dried in a kiln, I can't imagine a bakery serving anything of this particular "style." In fact, the more I think about it, the more I realize this product has a lot in common with masonry: it certainly looks like a mud brick. It has a texture that is not unlike very dry soil. The flavor is what I'd imagine I'd experience if I licked an adobe house. The pale, brown color is less like chocolate and more like desert sand or worse: camel dung. — This is not the worst of the supposedly chocolate snack bars I've had, but it's far from good. In fact, I'm not really sure it qualifies as a food product, at all. Behind...

The Kraft Company has come up with another healthy alternative which doesn't taste "healthy" but really is ... South Beach Living Four Cheese Pizza with Harvest Wheat Crust. This is a "thin crust" pizza topped with a tasty tomato sauce and generous helpings of reduced fat Mozzarella, Parmesan, Romano and Asiago cheeses. This is tasty and rich, but not overwhelming. — This six-inch (personal sized) pizza constitutes one serving which contains 340 calories with 100 calories from fat. There are 11 grams total fat, four and a half grams saturated fat, zero trans fat, three grams polyunsaturated fat, two and a half grams monounsaturated fat, 20 mg. cholesterol, 660 mg. sodium, 37 grams total carbs, ten grams dietary fiber, four grams sugars, and 31 grams protein along with 10% (D.V.)
The variations on an enchilada theme seem to be many and inspired for the creative crew at Amy's Kitchen, Inc. Although I must admit that Amy's Enchilada made with Organic Tortillas, Black Beans and Vegetables is not my personal Amy's-related favorite, I will say that I enjoyed this dish and that it is will made. It is a vegan dish which is also non-dairy and gluten free which could be very important to some enchilada lovers out there. — A 9-1/2 oz. package delivers two enchiladas or servings, each containing 180 calories with 50 calories from fat. There are six grams total fat, half a gram saturated fat, zero each trans fat and cholesterol, 390 mg. sodium, 26 grams total carbs, three grams dietary fiber, two grams sugars, and five grams protein in addition to 8% (D.V.)
I always avoided breaded foods because I couldn't stand the soggy, greasy texture, until my husband and I read about Panko crumbs in Cook's Illustrated magazine.
There is nothing in the world like Tuna Helper... unless you count Hamburger Helper! Tuna helper is the best way to get your dose of protein filled tuna. — What is it? — Tuna helper comes in various varieties but what it all comes down to is different kinds of tuna noodle casserole. The product comes with dry noodles, sauce, sometimes even toppings. You just add tuna, milk and butter to most varieties to make a yummy casserole. — How easy is it? — It can be easy or REAL easy depending how you make it. One way is on the stove top which is easy but takes more of your time as you have to stir in ingredients as you go and constantly keep an eye on it. This method does end up tasting a little bit creamier and a little bit better since you can keep it on the stove until it's as creamy as you want. — The second method is REAL easy since you just pour the ingredients into a casserole dish and throw it in the oven. This method...
